Toronto Raptors rookies continues to SHINE | The “Coachable” Ja’Kobe Walter & MOGBO the small-ball 5
The Toronto Raptors split a pair of games against the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets over the weekend as their crew of rookies continued to show out. In Episode 1841, Sean Woodley goes solo to talk about the contributions of Ja’Kobe Walter, Jonathan Mogbo and Jamal Shead over the weekend, discuss a rough one for RJ Barrett at Barclays Center and more. Off the top, Sean talks about Walters’ 22-point outing on Friday night, his two-way play, and Darko Rajakovic singing his praises. Plus, Jamal Shead’s 21 assists to 3 turnovers over the weekend, and Jonathan Mogbo looking the part as a springy small-ball center in a 17-11-7 game against Brooklyn in which he shot 8/9. Next, Sean gets into a rough night for RJ Barrett and what his idealized role will look like on next year’s team. Lastly, Sean digs into The Good (Immanuel Quickley making things happen), The Bad (Duke’s Final Four collapse) and The Hmmm (can AJ Lawson stick around?) to round out the show.

This season has been great, there's so much going on, the causals miss out on.
He had his decent game against a g league squad but man am I excited to (hopefully) not have to watch Jonathon Mogbo play basketball next season
I do believe the game plan going into the draft is to select Khaman Maluach. If by chance he’s Gone I could see D Queen getting picked. It Maluach is gone I do see kasparas Jak as the possible next best high upside selection.
If we do choose kasparas I would say there’s a 80-% chance RJ gets traded over the summer or at the trade deadline. He needs a new contract in 2+ seasons. That’s the problem.
If we do take kasparas with the first pick, I see the raps selecting a BIG with the second pick for their back up centre. Yaxel lendenburg would probably be the first choice. But he’s probably going around pick 27-32. Next would be Joan beringer. He’s probably going 30-40. Then I would say Ryan kalkbrener. Or Rocco Zikarsky. I also believe Darko and Bobby / Masai might love the upside and length of bogoju Markovic. Great length. 6’11 , 190 pounds
I think Mogbo is going to turn into something special long term. To me his IQ is just insanely high, his defence is going to keep him around for a long time and if he gets more efficient he'll be a good starter.
