Flip needs 15lbs (if they plan to have him play significant minutes at the 5), get even faster, and get more consistent.
Ultimately, I suppose every season you don't win a championship is a failure, but what people don't seem to grasp is that every team goes through ups and down. Not just in basketball either. Every sports team in every league in the world goes through ups and downs. Jazz fans have been spoiled because we haven't had much in the way of downs for the past 40 years. But we also haven't won a championship. I'm just ready to give the team some down time to develop before making another championship run. I'm tired of the constant predictable mediocrity. It's hard to keep getting excited over a team doing the same thing year after year. I'm ready for a few down years, so that when the team rolls back around it's easier to get excited about their improvement.
I guess it's just me, but I find it just as easy to root for an individual player's development and for the team to get lucky in the draft as I do to root for the team to win a championship. It's just a shift in focus, and I seem to have less trouble changing my focus than a lot of people here.
