The Golden State Warriors are also mired in the play-in tournament against the Memphis Grizzlies after losing to the Clippers. This means Miami’s potential pair of 2025 draft picks are still in the balance this week to determine what assets they have this summer and what is heading to OKC.

Best scenario for miami (IMO):
Miami makes the playoffs in 2025 (sending their pick, 15-30, to OKC). Golden State's pick lands between 11-30 and conveys to Miami.
Outcome: Miami gets one first-round pick in 2025 (via GSW, likely mid-to-late first). The obligation to OKC is settled. Miami keeps its own 2026 first-round pick. The 2027 pick owed to Charlotte remains lottery-protected.
Pros: Clears the complicated OKC pick obligation quickly. Maintains control over their own 2026 pick and keeps protections on the 2027 pick owed to Charlotte, maximizing future trade flexibility. Still adds a first-round talent in 2025.
Cons: No chance at a high lottery pick in 2025.
I would love to watch the Warriors go all the way to the finals and win it with JB, however i would love it even more if they miss the playoffs along with the Heat for the chance to get 2 lottery picks🤞🏿
