The difference from the match ups earlier in the season? While TWolves is a tough match up, the Lakers did not have Luka until mid to late Feb. Luka gives the Lakers a different dynamic and again it depends in how they plan their defensive schemes as well. It’s not going to be an easy cake walk in the first round, we just saw how Ant Edwards can go off at any point in the game + they are a more bigger physical team as well. Although, I do feel the Lakers can deal with Gobert..it’s the other factor like getting defensive rebounds (boxing out) as well as offensive rebounds..they all have to be active in that or at least match the twolves in rebounds. We all know the playoffs is all about adjustments, every game will be different. The team who wins is the one who can adapt quickly in game. I see this series going to 6 games tbh..you can’t underestimate your opponent.
Young Mr Edwards might be about to go full Randy Legendkiller Orton. He's got the all timer who beat the wolves in the WCF to payback and a GOAT candidate in front of him. definately a get the popcorn opening round series.
Gobert and Hayes are the highlight? You got to be kidding here. Edwards have some advantage, but lakers big guards can handle him alright. Luka and LBJ are nightmare for the wolves. Lakers in 5!
Your analysis is great, but when it comes to Randle vs LBJ, yes LBJ is the better player, but some of the stats are irrelevant or deceiving when dealing with Randle. Randle is not the playmaker that LBJ is, but he's a good one, and not far behind, but the stats would never show it, because Randle doesn't touch the ball as much as he did when he was on the Knicks. Randle is averaging 18 instead of 25, because he's taking 5 less shot attempts than he did the past couple of years. T-wolves have used Randle more since the all-star break, but in the first half of the year, they were trying to force offense through ANT, and on many nights, Jaden McDaniels or even Naz shot the ball as much or more than him. Randle is still the same guy who averaged between 22-25 ppg 8 reb 5 assists the past 4 years if he is touching the ball as much as LBJ, so don't let seasonal statistics fool you. But yes, LBJ is without a doubt a more efficient player than Randle. Randle's defense is more mental than a capability thing. Randle is not low IQ on defense, but it is a focus issue. When Randle is not getting touches and the team is losing, he gets frustrated, and starts having defensive lapses in coverage. In the first half of the year that was understandable, because he was watching ANT be a ball hog while the team was losing. When Randle is locked in, he can guard most team's top two options. There is a reason why Thibbs had him guard some of the best players on ball. Most of Randle's defensive lapses comes when he is off the ball. Randle can guard LBJ or Luka on ball, but if Randle doesn't stay focused, Luka or LBJ will pass to the man he is guarding off ball for an easy cut to the basket. So the match-up to really look out for is LBJ/Luka's playmaking vs Randle's off-ball coverage.
Also, Randle' playoff stats are too small of a sample size. He's only played in two playoff runs. The first time he got there was against the Hawks, and the Hawks double and triple teamed him, and while D-Rose helped him, the rest of the team bricked wide open jumpers all series. That was also Randle's first time, and most young players don't do well for the first time, but like I said, he was doubled and tripled all series, and his team didn't make the Hawks pay for it. The 2nd time Randle was in the playoffs, he rushed back from a leg injury, so he wasn't able to impact the game the way he normally would have. So this playoff run he has is going to remove those excuses, because he can't get doubled all the time, because defenses are more worried about ANT than him, and the T-wolves are one of the best 3 point shooting teams, and Randle is fully healthy. If Randle stinks up the series, then now the accusations of him as a playoff dud start to become fair criticism.
In the offseason we need a defensive Center, a rim runner.. if LBJ calls it quits, we need a playmaker wing or 2 way wing, shooter, or develop Khnect and pt for Rui..
@modernjam using games where ad played as an example is poor journalism and research, and it is lazy. the lakers are a different team and yes I undertsnad that the timberwolves does pose a challenge due to their size and bench depth, however since the trade the lakers are a different team and their spacing and defence has been better as well.
As a lifelong mavs fan, gonna enjoy seeing Luka get the ring this year. He was gonna get it for Dallas, but that team doesn't exist anymore. Beat Boston!
We all know here on Balkan what happens if a wolf ( or two ) meets a Balkan shepherd dog ( Šarplaninac ) .. those wolves will never have puppies .. same will be with that match up.. / sLOVEnia & Lakers / Let's go !
The lakers aint have a 7 footer. Wolves have 2. Luka is slow as shit and terrible on defense and bron cant play 48 minutes every game. Wolves bench also runs deeper and is better. Wolves in 6
thing is who is going to guard bron and luka? cuz neither randle or McDaniels can do it let alone any other player on their roster and sending double teams wont help either… while lakers can send doubles all game to randle (might not even need it) and ant who both "struggle" with skip passes (i just mean that they are not elite playmakers who can beat you with passing) and rudy is going to be played off the floor probably…. the only bad thing for the lakers is that hates has to stay away from foul trouble but other than that lakers are cool with this matchup
Wolves have size and a chip on their shoulder. This might be one of the Laker's toughest match up. Calling this now, this is either a game 6 or 7. Especially since many of Laker's lineup are inexperienced in the playoffs other than Luka and Lebron
Basketball is a team game, and the Timberwolves have a team from starter to bench that won’t be intimidated by the Lakers’ star power. Let’s go Wolves—show them what teamwork can do

Wolves cant cover both Luka and Bron at the same time.. Add Reaves to the mix and Hachimura then it will be a problem for the Wolves…
One of the Los Angeles teams will reach the NBA Finals.
We didn’t have two starters in one of the losses to the Lakers
Okay my guy stop glazing them
Shout out to all the Lakers/Cowboys/Yankees fans

The two loses vs MIN this season was 1 without AR and 2 without Lebron playing and DLO was still on the team lol.
Lakers would sweep🧹the wolves.
bball explained is such a good channel and this one is amazing as well
In the words of poet Shannon Sharpe "OKC, UFC, KFC … Lakers in 5"
The lakers aint have a 7 footer. Wolves have 2. Luka is slow as shit and terrible on defense and bron cant play 48 minutes every game. Wolves bench also runs deeper and is better. Wolves in 6
Them games with Davis is irrelevant now
they gonna double team luka. lakers gonna win easy ngl
