Mike Malone is very bad coach where he has no respect for his boss which cannot end well and except the 2023 season he did everything wrong all the time and won’t be hired as a head coach ever again

Russ and Malone are the scapegoats. Calvin Booth seemed to think this was a rebuilding team. Jokic is in his prime, why not surround him with more veteran players? That is why Jokic wants players like Russ on the team. Nuggets already lost Bruce Brown and KCP. He knows Russ can contribute and take the burden off him and Murray. Christian Braun and Peyton Watson are young and have developed into a good quality rotational players. Strawther has potential as well. But I think Booth overestimated the other young players’ readiness for big minutes. It was reported that Booth wanted Pickett and Nnaji to play more minutes than Russ and DeAndre, which is absurd lol. Pickett and Nnaji are not bad basketball players but they don’t seem to be rotational players yet. Denver has been a contender for quite some time now, which means they are less likely to be able to draft high quality players. So, it’s not likely that those late first round or second round picks will be rotational players right away.

I promise you keeping KCP was not as big a factor as it seems, just look at his numbers in Orlando. I can live with that, but when you let Jeff green go for petty cash and have Bruce brown get traded twice since being a nugget and we still haven’t made a push to bring him back or really invest in anyone with some sort of resume in the league this the result.
