  1. Not the first time he has done this. Should not count
    BUT
I see the point about him being healthy so he would have played more if the game actually mattered

  2. Min rebounds and 2nd chance pts could sink my lakers, but I still feel better about this matchup than I would have GS

  3. I can see why Lakers are favored due to Lebron and Luka but depth is not the reason…Wolves have bench players who could be starters on other teams like Donte Divencenzio, Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander Walker. Naz Reid would be starting for the Lakers instead of Hayes. Wolves are deeper and they also have a higher ranked offense, defense and net rating. Lakers only won one more game.

  4. The Jordan scored 44 in a meaningless game 82 also came in an era where players weren't told their career is meaningless without a ring, and your status on Mount Olympus is nonexistent without multiple rings. All Boomer complaints about the NBA are because of the problem they created by making ring culture the only barometer for success.

  5. I’d actually think it was less disingenuous to do that if he was injured. Particularly if it was just a one game injury. Then he would have played every single game he was able to and just didn’t let a tiny ankle sprain derail a years long record.
Instead he rested but his record will say he went so long playing every single game, which just isn’t true anymore. Eventually, potentially taking the record from someone who did in fact commit more to playing every game than he did. It’s not exactly scandalous but it puts a moral asterix on his record for sure

  6. As long as the guy is healthy and available to play, I give him a pass. It's not like he was injured and limped out there on the court and took a foul and left.

  7. ANTHONY EDWARDS BETTER START FLHING TO THE HOOP AND ATTACKING THE LALES AND STOP SETTLING FOR 3 PT SHOTS

  8. thats weak by mikal, you either play or you dont.. Matt Olson plays 162 games a year, matty O is better

  9. They aren't going to win because they're deeper, they're going to win because the Wolves will need to play 5 on 8.

  10. This is some of the dumbest commentary in sports. Lebron is the 4th best player on the team, and that’s a generous rank. He still plays very little defense and turns the ball over at an alarming rate.

  11. Jordan won the scoring title over Shaq by 0.4 points Greeny. So I imagine that 40 ball was to make sure he secured that.

Still that just goes to show the competitive nature. That meant 10 straight scoring titles. So Jordan wanted that and he still got the ring so it's not like it hurt him.

  12. People seem to forget that having Kyrie Irving is what made the Mavs a bad matchup for the Twolves last year. The Lakers don't have another lethal ball handling shooter like that outside of Luka down the stretch

  13. In regards to games started consecutively, what’s the point of the record anymore? Players regularly rest now, so unless you are actually going to play in a game, there’s no point to just checking in for 6 seconds just to play 82. Move the bar down a bit and see who has played 70+ games a year. I think that will represent the feat much better now a days.
