When our roster is as weak as it is, we can’t afford poor coaching decisions
lets be real the off season begins on friday.
Can we trade niang mann and a couple firsts like 3-4 including the lakers pick for Zion this summer?
Still can’t say I agree with the Bogi and Hunter trades unless we make more moves in the summer that weren’t possible before we sent out those 2
19:53 that makes 2 of us
The best I can say about this one is, "No comment". Time to play like there is no tomorrow. Go Hawks!
We were down by 3 and they took trae out. That is what went wrong. Simple as that
If Trae Young is suspended for the game against Miami, I'll be screaming bloody murder online, as we all should, but I won't be surprised either. They suspended DJ for a playoff game for less than this.
I don't think I've ever seen a player as bad at rebounding or boxing out as Georges Niang. I want all the Hawks fans that were saying we were right to ship Deandre Hunter out of town to stand here and own this one. The point I heard time and time again was that Dre was a terrible rebounder for his size. Well we got an even worse rebounder for his size back in the deal, and we kinda have to play him for some number of minutes and we are getting burned in those minutes. You'd think being that fat he could at least box out even if he can't stand in front of the ball handler to save his life.
the same loop Hawks face many times at last 20games. That Hawks lead early first then swith off scoring mode. let opponents lead 10+ points. Then try hard chasing back at 3-6pt game. At These point are the key that decide but Hawks recently never climb back (except vs Dallas but still lost at the end). We threw out our chance with missing the easy shots , turnovers. Hawks stuck at this loop and still cannot push out. We currently no special trick climbing back to win. So on Friday I hope we better keep lead from start til the end.
I appreciate your outrage Brad, but Quin has been making terrible rotation choices all year, many of them you've banged the table about. Not sure why you thought they'd all of a sudden be fixed in the playoffs.
The Good news is that our elimination game is at HOME and we will have 1 extra day of rest! NO EXCUSES….
OO, Dyso, JJ, and ZR….that's the core moving forward…Trae just doesn't have a 3 ball and is WAY TOO SMALL and lacks that first explosive step he used to have… A point guard with size and a BIg is what we need…Too many very mediocre players that get time!
As a Cavs fan I can tell you that Levert isn't right….a shell of himself!
I remember when you were like “Mann is a real player” in the trade 😂😂. I appreciate the coverage though.
Gota add some good vets like Bobby portis and marcus smart, and add a 7 footer walker kessler gota upgrade this roster. An take a swing at another super star devin booker, giannis, jaylen brown, or anthony edwards before trae leaves. Only 2 untouchables is trae an dyson everybody else can go
I can feel the passion in this analysis. They need to put you on the coaching staff frfr.
You cookin Brad
I don’t want to play the Celtics this was a good loss
Gonna be honest. Hawks need to break the bank for Myles Turner. They need size.
Poverty franchise. They lose when they need to win, and win when they actually needed to lose (Sunday’s game). Goodbye Sacramento pick.
Also the Braves are now flat out terrible. The falcons? lololol. What is right about Atlanta Sports? Completely trash incompetence and poverty.
After we lose on Friday, the last straw will be to send the spurs our lottery pick so they can draft cooper. Yeah, we got “sooo lucky” last year and drafted Zach but they’ll get to draft Cooper. That will be the REAL Atlanta sports luck showing up in due time. Just watch
Just two days ago we had most everyone agreeing that this season was a huge success considering the injuries and future forward trades made. Two days later, the massive crash out is here. Never change Hawks fans. Actual goldfish brains. We were never beating Orlando but some of y'all just love setting yourselves up for disappointment.
All that aside, thanks for your work Brad.
Definitely right about those rotations. Truly baffling
My only optimism is mo gueye. Dude was a beast today can’t wait to see him next year
I say we trade jalen next year, he's gunna play good but then get hurt inevitably. Mo g can take his spot. Let's cash in on jalen we can get a good return. And Quinn is not working out here.
Hawks gotta get another scorer besides Trae!!! Trae is NOT the problem, he is a gamer. JJ will help significantly; however, we need the rookie to make a large leap offensively and better 3 point shooters who aren't afraid of taking the shot.
They did a good job limiting Banchero and Wagner, but the role guys got crazy hot. Plus the Hawks blew way too many shots within 10 feet in the first half. Exactly what the Magic needed to happen happened. But even with this Atlanta was able to make it close late in the third, but the Magic erupted again the Hawks just couldn't hit a shot. I like Atlanta, but they have some bad weaknesses in the shot creation department.
trae is such a looser, he does antics when he is winning like rolling dice at msg, now he get his butt kicked he gets mad and hold up the ball
all u hawks fans ur team is trash
Hawks REALLY need to draft a solid Big too that has upside. It would be GREAT to get a legit vet scorer like Naz Reid too!!!
Hawks REALLY need to draft a solid big, too, that has upside. It would be GREAT to get a legit vet scorer like Naz Reid, too!!!
I just don't understand why some teams are allowed to play that physically. A foul is a foul. I don't care if one has to be called on every play. Then Paolo gets tickled by a feather going through the lane and the whistle blows. Literally wasn't a basketball game. They turned it into a wrestling match.
OO wasn’t the problem? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 This fanbase kills me sometimes.
This team was never going to truly contend without Jalen, y'all gotta relax.
Every playoff team would drop down a tier if you took their second best player out. Add your #2 option back and a legitimate center and the team is much different. This is a patchwork job and should be treated as such.
Levert, Niang, Mann and everybody else that is being killed in these comments are playing larger roles than they should.
This is about getting these young guys good playoff experience. CLE is great but most would prefer to see them over BOS anyway. That is still in play.
Your efforts deserve a better team…..🎉🎉🎉
We not goin in the playoffs fire quin nobody like his rotation vic didn't get no playin time quin coaching 4 a vacation
Welp at least we DO NOT have to play Boston. See ya Friday.
Why in the whole world did we have a 10 man rotation last night?!? Quinn's rotations are starting to scare me. Like, maybe his philosophy of "I dont care who starts" is really just masking the fact that he has no clue who should start/play.
I dont know why a Hawks fan would be pissed when what happened in the game is a repeat of what has happened in every game the Hawks have played against big physical teams like Orlando and Detroit ever since JJ and Capela got hurt.
It just tells me that Hawks fans haven't been really watching the Hawks play forreal forreal.
Anybody and I mean anybody, even the announcers knew this was a tall task. When 3/4ths of your starting front court is sitting on the bench in street cloths. JJ, Nance, and Capela are all in street clothing.
So you knew Okungwu was going to have to have the game of his life. And the Hawks 3 pts shooters was going to have to shoot the lights out.
That my friend isn't the Hawks. Thats not how they play. So if you expected that… again, I say you haven't been watching the Hawks, especially since the injuries happened.
The Hawks, after the injuries, are no longer a defense first team. They just find ways to win. But it's been a struggle. But to their credit, they won 40 games despite all the injuries.
So our season comes down to Friday! It’s not even about winning or losing that game to me at this point, how do you play for a full 4 quarters? Nothing wrong with the other team being better or your team not being at full strength, but your effort and level of focus and determination to win for 4 quarters is what matters. We were down 6 at the beginning of the 4th last night and let it get out hand again. If given that same scenario again, how do we respond differently the next time? This team didn’t okay 82 games and earn a playoff qualifying seed to just give it away. Time to show up and be locked in for the entirety of the game and give everything you have. Leave it all on the court. We need that now more than ever.
I always try to be pro Quin but man I just don’t care if both mo and O are in foul trouble. It’s a post season game. YOU PLAY THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE NEEDED
It was a team effort loss. Trae Young is too small, all about the numbers, not a team leader, doesn't want to be in Atlanta, and a sore loser. Where is the lie? Trade him.
We gave away Bogi and Hunter to instant playoff teams, and this is the result.
If you haven't figured it out by now, building around Trae is not the solution to the Hawks' success. Trade him.
Trae fully got bodied and pinned after that layup but of course none of it is being looked at, it was clearly a foul but a no-call..instead they choose to focus on the aftermath to paint Trae as the villain
Risacher is going to struggle against this team more than most and that is the referee's fault, not his. He gets hand checked or blocking-fouled damn near every time he touches the ball and of course that's going to throw a skinny, high-flyer off his game more than it would most people.
Orlando Magic is just a better team clearly no hate from me ,
The Hawks lack quality and edge to win decisive games. Coaching is also a consistent problem. I foresee a coaching change no matter what happens
If God is the merciful God that I know he is, he would allow this team to be put out of their misery on Friday and look forward to next season. Last night showed what this team really is, one very good the majority of the time offensive player, one very good defensive player (although his steal streak ended) and everyone else, hot or cold, hit and miss on any given night. Jaylen may have made this loss closer, but I still believe the outcome would have been the same. In a more perfect world, had Jaylen not been injured, maybe they hold on to Hunter and even Bogi (though he hadn't been playing great but did present a shooting threat) and if that was the case, they would have had a real shot at winning this game, at the very least it would have been more competitive. The pieces that replaced Hunter and Bogi are not better, and I'd venture to say the team is worse without them. As for next season, I know what I'm about to say won't be popular, but I'd be happy to ride with Jaylen, Zach, Dyson, Okongu and Mo as your main core. To me everyone else is expendable. What? No Trae? Yes. Now before I go into my rant because this podcast is very Trae heavy more often than not, let me give him his kudo's. Trae has done a lot for this team as far as entertainment and getting the fans and city involved and loving basketball again, in particular his first few seasons. He ranks with the best scorers currently in the NBA, maybe even history and believe it or not I think this season is his best season as he has demonstrated improved effort on the defensive side of the court as well as leading the league in assists. I also think he deserves to win a championship; however, it will not be on a team where he's "the man". He's been the only constant here for 7 years. They've gotten rid of players and coaches that weren't a fit with him. Management does deserve a hell of a lot of blame as well. They needed to find a veteran serviceable point guard this year to spell Trae, (and yes, I know they were counting on Kobi) and they did nothing, because honestly, I like Dyson, but a point guard he is not. I actually thought Travis Schlenk had this team heading in the right direction compared to what you have running the team now. As great an offensive player as Trae is; to really be the man, it takes someone who is mature and puts his team first and although he has improved as a player, those are two areas he simply has not gotten better at over 7 years, and it does not seem that he ever will. He is second in the league in technical fouls, only behind Dillion Brooks. He's become a villain not only to Knicks fans, but the refs as well. He is simply not going to win that battle, and it hurts the team. Last night with the score 17-14 Magic, he gets his shot blocked, turns and complains to the refs while his man goes down the court and hits a 3-pointer. This is something that he refuses to change. He needs a teammate who is true leader who has respect, is mature and a true all-star that doesn't have to defer to him. What he has now as teammates are a bunch of youngsters or Veterans who aren't ready to lead or have no desire to lead. And to my knowledge I haven't heard any star players chomping at the bit to come to the ATL to play with Trae. I think they should really see and test the market this off season and shop Trae, unless they just want to remain in losers' purgatory. It might be best for Trae going to a new team and players' he'd have to respect and get a fresh start, and this current team can build around what they have as a core.
