I don't think the Nuggets can defend the Clippers. The only thing you can do to Jokic is tire him. Jokic should shoot as many 3s as he can if he lands the first or second attempt.
If Kawhi is healthy Clips win in 6, Jokic is gonna do his thing but can Jamal Murray score 30+ consistently against the Clippers defense? Clippers force turnovers with their length, and I don't see anyone on the Nuggets bothering Kawhi and Harden. MPJ is gonna have to hit his shots from deep and Aaron Gordon has to do the same, they can't bully the Clippers inside unless they get Harden, Dunn, or Powell on AG or Jokic.
Zu is ok, but hes not AD, Bam or Rudy or Wemby… And we know what Jokic does to any/all of them. Kawhi is great and harden is great – but DEN will counter with Russ, Aaron CB, and Watson… Since Dunn cant cover both Murray and MPJ – it`ll be a scoring galore from those 2. I`m guessing – but DEN will go with Murray-CB-Watson-Aaron-Jokic first string. Smother the LAC stars and RUN them to retirement. And then – MPJ, Russ, Deandre and some Pickett corner shooting will seal the deal.
Kris Dunn is an X-factor for sure, that dude could sneakily shut down Murray if the refs choose to swallow their whistles as they did yesterday. Also wouldn't be at all surprised to see Bogi go for 30 and basically single handedly win one game.
Zu is by FAR the best Jokic paint defender the last few years. 10 total post up for Jokic this year vs Clips when he averages 11.5 per game. Lots of jumpers. Dating back to like 2020 or 2021 he shoots worse vs Zubac than vs any defender 1 on 1. So good instinct touching on this. Jokic ends up resorting to 3s and pulling Zu outside the paint on pick and pop. Gonna be key for the Clippers to rotate much better on 3s. I don’t wanna get buried by Gordon/MPJ/Murray on corner 3s all series
Denver has the best player in the series in Jokic and a good second option in Murray. However, the Clippers have too much collective firepower, especially when it comes to shot creation: Kawhi, Harden, Norman Powell and Bogdan Bogdanovic.
