Possible video idea: Why do teams that are bad at 3pt shooting, suddenly elite when they play the Kings? Like you said at the start of this one, the Magic are a bad 3pt team. But then they played the Kings and the entire team is raining threes. Also, some rarely used bench player will go off for 20+ points against the Kings. I know the answer is the Kings are terrible perimeter defenders and run at people for 3pt close outs. But if every team leaves Orlando shooters open and pack the paint, how do the Kings get burned and every other team doesn't?

Fantastic video. I really think paolo could be a future superstar with a better offense around him upgrading the shooting and getting a real PG to take relieve him of ball handling duties. It’s gotten so bad tha Cory Joseph signed as the 15th man vet has gotten valuable mins and aided Paolo massively just by hitting the open 3 and bringing the ball up the court freeing up Paolo.
It’s now upto those in charge to maximise the pairing of Banchero and Wagner in order to become a contender at least in the east and hopefully the finals.
He’s the forward version of Luka doncic but with better defense

An oblique tear stopped Paolo from becoming All-NBA as a junior. As a Magic fan I know we ruined the Kobe LeBron series but stop punishing us. Paolo Banchero is the future of this league. There has not been an American player with this this much talent and production in their first three years in a decade. We see what he’s doing with NO shooting, when our front office gets some shooters we will be here for MVP Convos and rings talk.

Post all star, guy leads league in usage, averages most shots per usage in nba, is 3rd in FGA per game and yet his team is only 11-11.
In reality, Magic played better without him, with Jalen Suggs and Mortiz Wagner healthy. Matter of fact they played A LOT BETTER without him.
19-15 without Paolo (56% win rate, 45 wins pace)
19-25 with Paolo (43% win rate , 35 wins pace)
Magic defensive rating without Paolo 107,7 , with Paolo 113 with Paolo
Magic offensive rating with Paolo 108,9 111,3
For slightly better offense, their defense with him tanks, and offense still isn't good enough to make any difference.
Further more, with -1,0 net rating ( Franz 5,8 ) he is 10th player on own team.
Despite fact for past 22 games, his efficiency got up, it still isn't that elite (58,8% TS) and yet his net rating is still just 6th on Magic.
Problem with both Paolo and Franz is fact that they really aren't playmakers, nor they actually look to engage anybody else in offense but themself. Often Magic supporting cast looks worst than they really are because they hardly touch ball. Caleb Houstan now had two games where he make 6 threes and in one game he only took 9 shots, (6-9 FG) and in other even worst (6-7).
In game vs Dallas, Paolo and Franz took 42 of team's 80 shots.
In game vs Clippers they took 42 out of 76 shots. They shot 16-42 (38%) rest of a team shot 14-36 (42%).
Paolo is very talented player but his stats are misleading. They paint picture of elite player on bad team. In reality Magic are more than solid team (Carter, Goga, Isaac, KCP; Gary Harris, Black) but simply aren't involved in offense. Today, impact and all around, he isn't even better player than Franz.
Magic are terrible offense, and part of the problem are both Paolo and Franz. Paolo because he calls his own numbers , running isolation after isolation, never involving rest of a team, Franz because he stopped being cutter and turned into mini- Paolo, waiting for ball and calling his own numbers, often taking bad shots.
And both are problematic as outside shooters as neither is reliable 3 point shooter.
In reality, if you have in nba two 25 ppg win scorers who are allegedly top 10 wings, you should be top 5 offense. Magic are 4th worst offense. Meaning, their stats are fabricated and forced, and come at expense of a team success.
As a Magic fan who watches a ton of games. I think the future version of P5 is honestly scary.
Paolo is awesome. With the shooting and passing improvements to go with his downhill pressure and rim finishing, he can be a top 3-5 offensive engine in the league very soon. And he's only 22. If the Magic can build around him properly (a PG & more shooting), he'll lead them to their first ring

At this rate they're 1st round exit team this year hopefully they sign great 3 point shooters they don't need to add another pure defensive player.
If they can snatch Q Grimes and sign players like Strus and Duncan Robinson they might be a real threat in the east.

Paolo reminds me of the complete opposite of Kawhi’s career. I think he’ll get several chances at rings, as he improves, becomes a two-way player, and becomes a veteran.
