  1. Kings fans on ownership: STOP MEDDLING!
ALSO Kings fans on ownership: YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE!

  2. If you have Domas, DeRozen and Lavine in your starting lineup, you cannot have a mediocre Defender starting at PG. That will never ever work. Ever.

The Kings need mors depth. Wasting their rescources on some 3rd tier PG, or worse, another top 50 player like Trae Young, while failing to address the persistent lack of depth is exactly what got McNair fired. The Kings Roster was its deepest their 1rst year. Then, not as deep last year, and then even less deep this year. The wins acted comensurately. The less depth we had, the fewer games we won. That's totally unsurprising on a team with so many talented scorers at the top of the Roster. They don't need more high usage players. They need a bunch of Keon's and Keegan Murray's around them. Adding Valenciuas and Laravia was nice, but it was too little, too late.

Keon, Lavine, DeRozen, Murray and Sabonis need to play better together, and a fool might think some mediocre PG replacing Keon will fix that, but it won't. He'll just lose his starting job to Ellis 20 games into the season because they'll be giving up 140ppg. If McNair wasn't such a loser, he would have gotten Chris Paul in the Fox trade. That would have made some sense. But, unless you can get a plus Defenser who is also an elite floor general and can shoot, you are completely wasting your time and money. Something the Kings are excellent at, of course.

There is no lack of NBA talent in the most recent starting lineup, and Keon and Keegan are necessary to make the unit passable Defensively. How many games have those 5 started together? 15? Unless they are getting rid of one, two or all three of Sabonis, DeRozen and Lavine, then Keon and Murray (or players like them) have to be in the starting lineup. It's non negotiable. The organization is going to need to come to terms with that indisputable fact. The Roster still needs more size, length, Defense, shotblocking, shooting. No PG the Kings can get will fix any of their biggest problems. The principal one still being a severe lack of Depth.

Having Monk, Valenciunas, Carter, Lyles and Laravia come off the bench is pretty close to something one might call depth, but it's still missing pop. You need a bunch of 9-11ppg bench scorers, not a bunch of 5-6ppg guys. If the Kings are sticking with this core, they need to surrond them with as many quality rotation players as possibe, preferably guys who can guard two or three positions and knock down their open shots. More Keegan Murray's.

The Kings have to have a Tony Allen/Marcus Smart type of PG if their Big-3 are the worst Defensive Big-3 in history. Sabonis, DeRozen and Lavine are collectively that awful. Luckily, in addition to being a bonafide elite Defender, Keon can shoot. So, he's a little more like Derrick Fisher than Allen or Smart. Keon doesn't score much, but you can't leave him open. He also has All-NBA Defensive potential. If you could get Tony Allen in his prime, but Tony Allen shot 40% from deep, would you take Trae Young instead? You might, but with this roster, you'd be wrong. Young, Lavine, DeRozen and Sabonis would officially be the most embarassing Defense in NBA history, and there would be absolutely nothing Keegan Murray could do to help.

Keon is basically Tony Allen with a wet jumper. He wouldn't work on most Rosters, but he's perfect to play along side three high usage 20ppg players who can't play Defense. He and Murray make that rediculous Big-3 competative Defensively. I'm confident that if they start the season together, they will work out some of the dead ball, ball hogging crap that would make a fool go Point Guard hunting. Thir biggest problem is they've only started a few games together. It's not that those 5 guys aren't good enough. Give Christie a training camp, and it's possible they could be really good. Replace Keon with some Defensive seive, and watch what happens. Guaranteed failure.

But, the clowns running this organization will no doubt add a 4th bad Defender to the starting lineup. You won't be able to pay me to watch that garbage. It was bad enough with Monk in the starting lineup. This team is doomed.

  3. The fact that the kings have almost exlusively drafted gaurds for the last decade and still need a point gaurd is this ownership in a nutshell. INSANE AND BEYOND FRUSTRATING. Fox should have gone instead of haliburton, it would have been cheaper and we would have had to give up less or gotten back more. Theres so many moves that could have been made to have us in a great situation for the next 5 years minimum and they just never get made 8:53

  4. Kings need to start over and go for athletic scorers that are willing to play defense. Keep Keon. Monk is a good 6 man but if he goes, that's fine. Don't care for Lavine. DeMar is too slow. Sabonis isn't athletic enough at his height to contend with great players at his position. Jonas is too slow. Murray can come off the bench.

  5. Thing is with sabonis it makes impossible to have most of these point guards cause he doesn’t spread the floor or rim protect

  6. If they did need a point guard, I would think Tyus jones is a great option, he has one of the highest ast/to ratios for the last 5 or 6 years (between 5 and seven depending on the year) and just had a decent season in Phoenix. He also just shot 41% from 3 on 5 attempts a game (6.6 per 36 minutes). His defense is pretty below average, but if a point guard is needed to run the offense, he is very capable of doing so which he proved in Memphis when he took over for Ja.

They also can probably get him for cheap since he was just on a minimum contract with Phoenix and he played the same as he always has.

  7. Deebo a legend and deserves to be moved to a contender if possible, hopefully for draft picks and young players. He doesn't fit the offense we need to run with the personnel we have

  8. if we can get extremely lucky if not only getting our pick back but if we move up as well like top 3 we can definently go after trae young

  9. They had De'Aaron by the nut sack. He wouldn't have wanted to play this year not under contract. They should have waited and at least made San Antonio raise it's offer. either way, everything was handled as poorly as an organization can

  10. It's obvious McNair should have hit reset and tried to pry as many assets as he could from the Spurs. The rumors going around before the Fox trade seem like lost treasure now. Kings will need to trade Sabonis for anyone significant in return. I would trade Sabonis for any of the top PGs Nunes mentioned.

  11. Ben Simmons as Point Forward (we got the roster and culture to pull him up and give him his last redemption opportunity) and Rajon Rondo as HC with Doug moving to AHC.

I think that's a team that can make it past the 1st round.
