I don't think this is a thing with every coach with a superstar, but lowkey a few of them are, or later just become Superstar player-merchants. Like certain coaches like Tyron Lue and Spoelstra cannot be defined solely by their stints with Lebron, and that's about as big of a compliment as I can give. Bud was great on the Hawks, but dude was a Giannis merchant on the Bucks. Giannis was bailing that mf out like a college student pulling out chatgpt. There were so many times we'd be yelling at the tv after Bud not making the adjustment, but Giannis is goated to the point where they win anyways. I'm a Suns fan. I hate the Suns. This iteration is similar to that Eurasian billionaire who bought the Nets, made a "super team" of 40 year olds, then sent the franchise into a decade of middling, purgatory he'll. There's nothing about the Suns left to root for. That's saying a lot as I was 10 toes down w Bledsoe, 500 y.o. Tyson Chandler, and some G-league guys. That team sucked, but it was a team. This iteration feels like a maxed-out, shortsighted, out-of- touch billionaire said we got KD, so we're set for a decade. It feels very plastic and formulaic. Maybe I'm like a masochist, but I am also a Wizards fan and I'm more excited about that dismal franchise bc at least it has some direction. The Suns tried to buy a chip and missed the fuckin play-in. The Suns being a major flop was a pleasant surprise. I think Booker is overrated and I used to love KD at Texas and OKC but I hate that he's one of the most talented players in the world and he always tried to take a short cut. It's amazing that he fucks up so many teams.
