as bad as Griff and green are until you move on from Zion and Cj your still losing
If Ms Gayle wants to replace Griffin, no one is gonna take the job if they don’t have the freedom to ALSO pick their coach. That’s sort of the Catch 22 there. I could for sure see Willie & Ms Gayle having a tight relationship, tho, leaving Griffin the more vulnerable. Too many young guys have taken too long to put it together, and others have improved upon leaving. The Dyson thing isn’t totally fair because he’s in a better situation for his skillset, but still. The FO is deficient, probably in more than one place. Up to her what she’s gonna do about it.
I think It’s gotta be clean house or change nothing… but if they change nothing it’s basically doubling down for next year. If it doesn’t work again, they’re all gone AND you probably blow up the roster.
David Griffin should be on the hot seat for dropping the ball losing dyson Daniels (most improved winner) , losing naiji Marshall a future 6 th man of year winner 🏆. Not resigning the best back up center in the league Jonas V . Not getting enough value for a all star in Brandon Ingram. Overpaying Trey Murphy and screwing up our salary cap moving forward .

If we clean house we also need to move off of Zion. The reason we never moved off of BI earlier was Zion was never healthy or last year started the season massively out of shape. When your superstar only averages 35 games per season that is the biggest issue. With a high pick trade Zion for another young player and picks use next season as a developmental year and another high pick and get back to trying to win in 26-27 season
Hiring what they call the leagues (best or really good ) coaches that cost 10 mil a year dont always work out either . Example , We once had a Monty Williams and diddnt make a western conference. Then monty Williams later went to 2 western conference championships/ finals and lost and was fired. Then went to become the highest paid coach in the league with the pistons and was considered the worst coach of the league losing 28 games straight. Sometimes hiring the (best or really good) high paid coaches such as the montys , malones , jenkins , and the mike browns of the league is kinda overrated. Lets keep willie for one more year or promote James borego . We also could take the lakers route and bring in a new , passionate, well respected first timer like they did with JJ Redick . I agree Ownership should stay on the cheap side until one of these type of coaches can come in, and prove they can produce winning with our pels team first , before you just go throwing away 10 million to the (best or really good ) coach for nothing in return.
