The Nets are in the worst spot you can be in mediocrity. Too good to build through the draft but not good enough to contend in any meaningful way. If you are not going full tank why hell did you trade bridges and help the Knicks? Why hand over an extra pick to Houston to get you own picks back? Complete waste if they end making the playin tournament.
Marks better do something by the trade deadline if this team is looking like a middle of the road playin.

When you got a player like Cooper and Ace you do what you have to. Suck as much as you can. Its only one year. Look at OKC and the Spurs with Wemby.
I think Jordi was a great hire, and he is starting to help build a culture, which is great. We also need talent though, and is important to tank this year, to hopefully end up with a top pick in the 2025 draft.

We will see how competitive the Nets are in the next 2 games. I have been saying all along that with the current roster, they will not have the worst record in the league and perhaps not in the bottom 5. They are well coached and have enough talent to win games. Now, if they trade some of the vets … that will be a different story.
So what was the purpose of trading for Nets own draft pick for this year again? — Is Marks contented for the pick to land 1 through 20? I mean, his strategy has always been looking for good find in the draft and top pick has always not been that important to him. It makes sense that he wants to just high pick player that fit his puzzle. But still, what is the purpose for trading for our pick back if this was the case? Pivot options?
Who roots for losses? Or complain about wins? Expectations aside…fans should be proud of our effort. Hate how "better than expected" is a concern. Nonsense.
The last thing we need is too keep trading players for the Nets it should be tiring and played out, maybe 1 or 2 trades but as far as trading the majority of the team is ridiculous. Lets keep what we have and build upon it. And honestly this team needs more positivity this season then the negative. As fans we need to rally behind our team that's the only way we build a winning and respectful culture moving forward! Go Nets!
The biggest concern is how bad the East has been, especially with some of the injuries to key players (Joel, Paolo, Barnes). Those are three teams that you normally would not have to worry about as far as contention for top 4 picks. The devil's advocate for "building habits" argument is…the key player to this team playing the way it has is Dennis Schroeder. What the Nets are showing right now is fool's gold, because in order to really continue "building habits" requires them to pay a 32 year old Dennis Schroeder in the off-season because this team, without him, is really without it's rudder.
And if your team takes a dump without a Dennis Schroeder…then you have zero business not wanting to be picking as high as you can in the draft.
