Watching these vids until GSW trash the Rockets later today.
Hoping this year is like 2023 when you said Nuggs have no chance to win championship because of defense…. I felt much more confident that year than now, but maybe you jinxed the rest of West, again!! Hahah
I was always saying that they would be able to turn it up come playoff time. Lot of people were writing their defense off completely. The Nuggets who have been there and done that as a team should get just a little more credence. Especially when the media talks about other players or teams knowing how to turn it up come playoff time.
This years Nuggets have roster issues that will prevent them from being an elite defense but so much of the defensive fall off was simply a lack of serious effort. I'd say Christian Braun was the only Nugget this year that consistently brought high level effort defensively during the regular season. When they do make a serious effort to defend as a team they can be pretty good. Certainly good enough to win playoff series because their offense is so potent.
Love the films sectiosn
Jokic started flopping
Clippers win by 15+ in game 2 if both teams get the same quality of looks
I disagree with alot of the things ur saying. “Just do enough and they will pee down their leg.” I’m sorry, but that was the case in 1 game, it will not be the case the rest of the series.
doesn't seem like Ja strecthed after hte game
When did Jokuc flop?
I saw Jokic involved in every play. Jokic mvp
Man everyone is telling me that the Clippers went away from the pick n roll and that Jokic is horrible against it, and you just show clip after clip after clip where he either contests, deflects, forces a bad turnover or gets a steal. That deflect on the James Harden / Zubac pick n roll with 2 minutes left in overtime was huuuuuuuuuge.
This video is literally just exposing a no offense player in dunn and a bad playmaker and panicker in norm and kawhi, while the pressure part is true dunn being on the court is 4v5, hes basically ben simmons or PJ tucker, hes not scoring shit even if its wide open, THATS why the it was easier to defend, if ty lue wasnt dumb DJJ would be the one in the corner cutting for a lob or dunk or even a 3pter(shooting a career high), none of that dunn offensive cowardice. Djj has by far been the superior player and dunns deficiency was always going to rear its head in the playoffs, he has a place but its been obvious all year despite his good defense hes kinda unplayable, he can at max give you 10-15min a game in the playoffs if you want to win. Its not anything special the nuggets did, and honestly its embarrassing they werent exposing him as a weakness earlier, everyones been doing it all year already so idk how the nuggets took so long lol
Kawhi isn’t turning the ball over 7 times again Still feel like clips have more to offer Powell had a real off night so did Bogdanovic
Jokic often doesnt play tough D until later in the game. He gets such a bad whistle that when he does play tough D, he picks up fouls quickly. That would lead to him being hamstrung late in games playing with 5 fouls. Obviously that’s true for a lot of bigs but it’s just more extreme for Jokic given Scott Foster and Tony Brothers really hate Jokic.
This youtuber is being disingenuous to the clippers. If kawhi didnt make silly mistakes, this game isn't close. Clips in 5 or 6.
Jokic's picks and chooses when to play defense. He has to do that to be effective offensively. But he actually is very good help defender with very active hands. He can't jump for shit so can't expect him to rim protect without picking up too many fouls..gonna be a tough series though
Long explanation that undercuts the narrative that the Nuggets cannot defend. Total points including OT proves that the Nuggets can defend just fine. Oh, and Jokic had more steals than any other player… again.
Love this format, Jason!!
Russ and AG and Christian saved that game
Every time the Clippers decided not to put Jokic on pick and roll and couldn't possible exploit the Nuggets when they rotated early even twice, just so he didn't have to play defense.
Been saying it for months. At the end of the season last year they were worn out from playing hard on D and trying to get the 1 seed. They said they won’t do that again. One of the adjustments in the regular season has been to not chase a seed, and not run Joker into the ground playing at the level with the energy he did last year. Murray as well, they didn’t push things. Question was, will they be able to turn it on, and have they gotten too many bad habits. I think late 2nd quarter they started remembering what it takes. Don’t know how it’ll turn out, but I have a lot more hope for them than most, because I understand where they were and where they’re trying to get to.
I always enjoy your videos, even though I know nothing about game strategy. All I know if Westbrook sucks and you cannot count on Murray.
Jokic has such an offensive burden having to score 30 ppg triple double just for the Nuggets to win during the regular season he doesn't have the energy to play intense defense too. In the playoffs it's different. But, this Nuggets team simply isn't deep enough and they lack a backup 5 so whenever he's not on the floor it's hard for the Nuggets to compete. In this game Russell Westbrook was key down the stretch, but they really only have 7 playable guys including Peyton Watson and that's a problem.
The nuggets pretty much lack raw talent, other than Jokic, but they are a scary team when they actually play defense. Defense doesn't necessarily require an amazing roster, just effort. Just look at Russel Westbrook, he is 100% effort 100% of the time, and he makes a huge difference on defense. Also huge that he got so many offensive rebounds. Also Christian Braun, constantly looking for opportunities to intercept passes too for steals and easy baskets. If you are in the correct position at the correct time, that is the vast majority of basketball, you don't need raw talent to give effort and play smart.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together

"Clippers aren't a good playmsking team." The star players either promote dependence, or elevates their team. The Clips stars Harden and Leonard exemplify the first, while Jokic elevates the second trait to a force of nature.
He makes the Nuggets an excellant playmaking team.
After months of listening to the pod via Apple Podcasts, I’m happy to be here!
this comment deleter is a bum, get out of ur feelings you mini nick wright. Scrawny ahh non hooper soft boy
I don't know man. Holding the hottest team in basketball to 63 points through 3 quarters is more than "okay" defense.
great video
Offense win games. Defense win championships.
Heard you twice say “peeing down their leg” when talking about LAC. A perfect term as they seem to fold more often than not in the pressure filled moments.
Watching all the nuggets game it looked like the same Jokic to me. You don't average 1.8 steals not playing like that all the time. He had 8 steals in the last 3 games. It's the other player (AG/Murray) that have picked it up. Zubac good looking young player but Jokic owned him. A couple good stops but mostly just misses. Jokic Shot like 2 jump shots to 22 shots in the paint. Not seeing the settling for jump shots.
brilliant analysis as usual……thanks from serbia
10:39 NBA doesn't count that rebound from Jokic, and two more…in one moment they show that he have triple-double (i think on 4.50 to the end of 4-th quarter) but somehow he stay on that 9 boards 🤔
THIS is the content I love, good shit 👏🏾
