"Vivek pledges his support" sounds a little bit like Vivek is going to provide input on how he wants to do things.
Things I learned, no formal job search, that he thinks this team is constructible, thought the last stint here was successful (it wasn't we maxed out our cap on old vets, drafted poorly removed of Fox but in hindsight could have had Mitchell at 10 and went on to go 27 and 55). And additionally leading by platitudes oppose to analytics and or things correlated to a league not from 20 years ago. No disrespect to Scott Perry but this job offer wouldn't have come from any other team at present. I think this is poor hire but even worse poor process to get to it. I hope i'm wrong but see worse times in our future.

The main thing I like about our new GM is that it seems like he has lots of good relationships in the NBA. I think that’s gonna be a huge factor in bringing key players to the kings.
