  1. Spurs should draft Carter Bryant or Rasheer Fleming or both. I also like yaxel lendeborg, maxime raynaud, Joan beringer. Spurs need to add size and defense

  2. I only saw Tre Johnson play a couple of times, but from what little I did see, I wasn’t impressed at all.

CMB is a fantastic defender, but his offense make him a pass. Sorry.

  3. We need Newel as a back up center and Carter Bryant as a défensive pièce. In my opinion you can find 3pt shooters and rôle players by trades or free agency… A center is harder… A good versatile défensive player is hard to find with shooting… So a hard défensive player with potential seems to be a good card to play !

  4. Priorities if I were drafting:
    1. Big defensive PF (6’10 ish) who gets a lot of boards
    2. Quality backup center
    3. 3 and D wing (6’7 at least)
    4. The best shooter available to come off the bench

  5. Yeah we need size, more big man depth for pf and center. The other position we also need would be sf. A good amount of bigs in this draft and a few sf

  6. I don't like mock drafts. Only real Spurs fans like us who watch all 82 games a year know what we really need. This year it's size and athleticism we need to address in this draft!!!

  7. For Tre he’s one of the best shooters which we do definitely need, if we draft him it would certainly mean Keldon or Devin will be gone though

  8. Imagine a line up : Fox, Castle, Vassel, Naz Reid, Wemby. Bench: Paul( or trade/free agency), Cam Johnson (trade Keldon, Branham), Sochan, Barnes, carter Bryant, Asa Newel, Mamu. This could break next year!

  9. You have to remember these selections are from people who don't follow the Spurs and are probably biased towards a favorite team. If the Spurs do get Kon Knueppel i would like Bill Land to come back just to call one game with him in it. "Oh mama a hard Knuepple"

  10. Tre Johnson — good pick. Maybe makes Vassell expendable because Tre Johnson might actually be the guy Vassell THINKS he is. Same goes for the Spurs fanbase. Regarding Tre Johnson's playmaking, about a dozen draft guys I like (NBA Big Board, No Ceilings, Vecenie) have all mentioned that Tre Johnson has the playmaking chops that were evident in high school, but on that terrible Texas team he really had no one to pass it to. He was IT on that team and had to carry it almost single-handedly at times. The reads he did make were really good and his passing percentage and assist-to-TO ratio were promising. If Tre Johnson is still available at #8, you gotta give it a shot, especially since he's a Texas guy and we know the Spurs love those. Tre Johnson is going to be a bucket off the bench.

Boyles can't shoot a lick. He's a tweener. We already have Sochan to basically do all the things Boyles would be doing on this team — so what's the point. If you're the Spurs, wouldn't you rather be figuring out ways to get Sochan on the floor more than duplicating it with a guy like Boyles? Sochan already has chemistry with Wemby — Boyles is an unknown. Unless Sochan has gotten moved for someone else, there's no reason to take a flyer on a guy like Boyles with a lottery pick; you might be able to snag someone like JoJo Tugler (from Houston) in the 2nd round who Vecenie and Bryce Simon believe may be the best defender in the draft, even over Boyles. So no, a hard pass on both Boyles.

You're right about this draft being tricky. Where they're slotted to draft is just such an unknown in that range, like you point out. It's funny… the best FIT on the Spurs is Cooper Flagg 😆. And not just because he's the best player, but because he could slide right into a position of need and have a very clear starting role going forward with Barnes or Vassell sliding to the bench. I love Queen, but he doesn't seem like Spurs material and he's going to be gone by the 8th pick. Same for Maluach who won't make it past Toronto. Newell might be Marvin Bagley 2.0. If they get into the Top 3, on paper, Ace Bailey is the best fit, sliding into the same role as Cooper Flagg would, except he still plays and acts like a kid out there. He's going to drive the Spurs coaching staff crazy and likely will end up, if not coming off the bench outright, end up spending a lot of time in Austin. In 3 years, it might pay off — not anytime soon. VJ Edgecombe is barely 6'4 ½ in shoes and even with all the athleticism in the world, where's he going to play? The 3? Just an energy guy off the bench even though we already have one of those undersized forwards in Keldon.

  11. Im a big advocate to look at the second-round guys. I saw this on "AIR ALAMO" But you can't expect to hit this level in the second round. However, there have been plenty of prospects who turned out to be great rotational pieces, and the Pacers are putting theirs on display in the postseason this year.

Nembhard is such a sick two-way guard. He's making $2m this year. Yet another example of why teams selling 2nd round picks is a travesty, there is so much talent to be found. Team building cheat code if a 2nd round pick hits.

NBADRAFTROOM has the Spurs picking at 41 Alex Condon C – Florida (Australia) – HT: 6-11 – WT: 230

  12. CMB gives me some serious Malik Rose vibes. If we draft him, he better make Victor his best friend if he wants to stick around long enough to create a few crappy restaurants no one really wanted. Yes, I've got issues, but I'm dealing with them!

  13. Might be better to trade down or trade if someone that the staff really wants falls.
Whatever ends up happening, we'll be better.
