In my opinion. It seems Thompson's play on Butler may have been intentional by the way he threw his hands out at contact, which made Butler's feet fly up causing the injury.
In my opinion the term physicality is being used too much. Everybody is saying to be more physical and aggressive. This is eventually the result you get.
