Mavericks Rumors: Patrick Dumont NOT Happy With NIco Harrison After Luka Doncic Trade?
Mavericks rumors today focus on Mavs owner Patrick Dumont and the fallout from the Luka Doncic trade. Dumont trusted Mavs GM Nico Harrison to run the team and make decisions, but since the Doncic trade, Harrison has not done a good job of limiting damage to the point where Harrison had to do a press conference explaining his decision. Now, Mavs rumors are circulating that Dumont wants Harrison to hire an executive in the Mavericks’ basketball operations department. Should the Mavs hire a new executive to work with Nico?
When Dumont said that Shaq was dedicated to his health and weight when he was playing that's when I knew that he doesn't know n e thing about basketball. Fire Nico
So why doesn’t he just fire Nico and admit he shouldn’t have let Nico have full control without listening to others? Hire a real GM and basketball executive
Dumont/Adelson does not own the Mavericks. The team is owned by the Adelson and Dumont families who own the Sands Corp. which is run by his mother-in-law Miriam Adelson. Patrick is a real estate guy, not a basketball guy. If it is true that another person will be brought in to oversee basketball operations with Nico, then fine. If it is also true that Nico gets to hire this person then…………………….You can draw your own conclusions.
Personally, I think the best course for Dumont/Adelson is to fire Nico now. Rick Welts (president of the Mavericks) should be hiring Nico's replacement this week.
Just from how Nico has acted in interviews, I honestly believe he thought he was pulling a smart basketball move that would relieve any tensions between his desire for total control of the basketball side of the organization and he came to Dumont with the trade idea and Dumont doesn't know anything about basketball so he took Nico's word for it and then once all the backlash was hitting and the team's future darkened Dumont woke up to realizing he let Nico pull a clown move and now he's embarrassed and upset.
They dont know the gravity of what had happened.. can you imagine kobe getting traded at 25 after winning a championship? Dirk getting traded after a loss in 2006? MJ traded at 25? LBJ traded at 25? And to know that they dont want to leave? This is like dropping a atomic bomb and wondering where all the people go? Damage is done.. took years and years to build.. gone in a second.. i doubt they can rebuild it again..

The franchise I loved through bad times and good is destroyed. Loyalty has been tossed to the curb because of pride, jealousy and outright incompetence. I have tried for the past 2 months to remain a fan, but it just seems like an entirely different organization.

This is so diabolically stupid… So you are looking to hire "somebody" more experienced and knows business side and basketball side..soooo essentially you are looking for Mark Cuban…With whom you did actually make some kind of deal with under the table to continue leading the team and then decided to act smart and caused a worldwide embarrassment.. where now everyone is laughing at you, look at that team, you have an owner who has no idea how to run a team, a general manager who is delusional and he has almost no experience, in general, that whole organization since he came, he fired all the people with experience and everyone who is working now either has little experience or no experience at all, I mean just look at the medical staff and the leadership of that team…

Here are the steps the Mav's need to take now. If not, you are looking at a 12-15 gap before this team ever sniffs the playoffs. 1. Fire Nico. 2. Trade all starters for as many first round picks as you can get. 3. Do not resign Kyrie.
Fire him not going to fix any problems the Mavs facing for years to come , juts let him keep his job and we laugh at him about his vision or go to the game and wear a clown nose on ! Don't give Patrick Dumont a pass here. He ultimately approved this trade without consulting Mark Cuban or even Dirk. Him not having basketball knowledge is not an excuse!

Ringlin Bros, have great opportunities with live auditions, a seemless transition for his clown work in Dallas, with great benefits / 401k / year round travel opportunities he would fit right in & would make ticket sales go high through imagine that!!!
Who idea was it to take power from cuban? Besides the fact he sold majority of the team. It's still all the same staff he hired. When and why did they decide to cut cuban off?
I love kyrie but yeah dude I hope he ops out so the Mavs organization can see they fucked up but I doubt he’ll leave AD like that. I feel bad for klay I know he came bcuz of Luka even though kyrie talked him into joining but I know he said hey man we got the Don we just needa back him up. AD I know he’s good but I personally was fine with Luka. I would rather lose with Luka bcuz knowing we have a generational player means much more than wining without. I hope this organization fails under Nico. He tore the city apart

Nico convinced an owner that knows nothing about basketball that Luka wasn't a good player. And Nico was able to gift the greatest player alive to his favorite team, The Lakers for absolutely nothing in return. I believe Nico's sole intention was to make the Lakers relevant again. I'd be willing to bet Nico has a job waiting on him in LA.
The priority should be very clear. Fire Nico, get what you can for Kyrie and Anthony Davis, and bend over backwards to get Luka to re-sign when his current contract is up!
