If the Dallas Mavericks can trade (26 year old) Luka Doncic this season. Would not be surprised if the Memphis Grizzlies trade (25) Ja Morant this summer for another young All-Star or multiple 1st Round draft picks from a team, and go in a different direction.
If your'e the Memphis Grizzlies , would you do a Ja Morant to (Milwaukee Bucks) for Giannis Antetokounmpo (Memphis Grizzlies) trade this summer? The only thing about this trade though, is that Memphis would have to trade Jaren Jackson Jr as well because he plays the same position as Giannis. Unless Memphis wants to play JJJ as a Center next season.

thing is they WERE fine in the west at that time. West was garbage, everyone admits that in any other context, and MEM had a much better roster than they do now (Steven Adams, Dillon Brooks, Tyus, healthy Clarke, etc).

Ja is the definition of unsustainable. He's one of the best athletes we've seen, regardless or the sport. On the downside, he's small for a guard and not a great shooter. He relies heavily on attacking the basket but that will take a toll on his undersized body.

Eh, Shaq can be mad, but clearly someone is trying to send Morant yet another message, because all the other ones didn't seem to get through. Morant was made the face of the Grizzlies, and after some initial success, the team has been up and down. They treated Morant with a lot more lenience than other people would get and got rid of players and coaches that may have been a small part of the team's problems, but the main issue still is the maturity of the star player. What makes things worse is that there are no veterans on the tea,m, and clearly,y having a young coach has done nothing to establish order and professionalism.
