  1. As a Knicks fan I obviously have mixed feelings towards the Spurs but Coach Pop is one of the greatest coaches ever. I pray that he is well.

  2. I don't think Pop is done coaching. I just think he's done doing the head coach role. I am sure he will be in training camp and at the Spurs facility still working with Victor and the rest of the team. He will continue to help the organization at every level, and frankly he is probably the main person selecting his replacement so I am sure Pop's impact on Wemby's and others careers is not done

  3. Let's not forget he pimped or Hillary.
He and Kerr's NPC role playing for the elite is insufferable.
And this from a huge Spurs fan in their heyday.

  4. Pop showed the world the secret on how to be an all time great coach. Have a hall of fame player on the court at all times
    Robinson
    Rodman
Kerr (or at least he should he had 5 rings as a player)
    Duncan
    Ginobili
    Parker
    Leonard
    Wemby

It's pretty easy to look smart when the answer is give the ball to Tim Duncan

  5. Not surprised by Pop's decision. Anyone who has experienced a stroke knows that he/she is even more susceptible to another stroke. Plus Nba head coaching is a stressful and emotionally-charged job. Good decision. Take care Pops.

  6. Love you Pop, glad to hear you are taking your health seriously. We have been honored to have you as our HC all of these years. Go Spurs Go!

  7. Being a Spurs fan, it was kind of expected, but I have no doubt Pop will still be involved a ton with our guys. he just wont be on the sidelines during games and going on road trips and stuff.

  8. Great man, coach and example for millions across multiple generations. As a Lakers fan I've cursed his name many times; however always paid respect to this outstanding human being.

  9. Thank god he finally retires as a coach. The single most overrated coach in NBA history. His entire tenure at the Spurs was held together by Tim Duncan.

  10. 55 years old. MAN COACHED ONE TEAM MOST OF MY LIFE. MAY NEVER SEE THIS HAPPEN AGAIN IN ANY SPORTFOR THIS AMOUNT OF TIME✌️
