Giannis ‘disrespected’ by Haliburton’s dad, Will he stay with the Bucks? | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Giannis Antetokounmpo was “heavily disrespected” by Tyrese Haliburton’s dad during the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss against the Indiana Pacers. Giannis also refused to comment on his future with the Bucks. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes ask if he will stay with the Bucks.

  1. We are living in a time of unprecedented parity in the NBA. This is the first time there's ever been a 6 year streak without a team winning twice or more in that time and we are likely going to see that streak go to 7 this year. Winning multiple titles is harder than it ever was and the NBA media needs to take that into context when judging all-time greatness.

  2. It's pretty embarrassing that your son has to come out there and quell your reckless behavior smh. Had his old man popped off at the lip to a player who had just lost with a morose temperament unlike Gianni's, he may have gotten chin ✔️'d.

  3. Kobe, Dirk, Duncan, Robinson, Magic, Larry, Steph….Sometimes rings aren't always the most important thing…heroes live forever, but legends never die. You're never gonna pass Kobe, Mike, Shaq, or other guys on that list of greatest of all time (position or in general)…being a guy that will always be remembered wearing one (small market) jersey their whole career, and MAAAAAYBE ya sneak out a second ship before you retire…that's legacy.

  4. Giannis initially demanded a commitment to win from the Bucks right after they won it. Idk if he ever followed through on holding them to that but it doesn’t seem like it.
Halliburton’s dad just put a target on his son’s team’s back.

  5. This situation was over exaggerated ( mainly because of Giannis’s behavior) y’all actin like Tyrese dad put his hands on Giannis or called him out of his name. Giannis was the one putting his hands on people and was arguing with multiple pacers but somehow he’s looked at as the mature 1 in this situation. What happened to just taking your L

  6. as a bucks fan I hope Giannis goes somewhere to compete dont waste his time on the bucks he did everything he could and brought us a chip

  7. imo getting 2 rings playing for the same small market team is much more impressive than getting 4 playing for 4 different franchises.

  8. I think there's a case to be made that NBA players get away with too much taunting in general. Basketball is not golf obviously, but there is a LOT of mouthy BS going on out there which is seldom deemed "illegal". This makes it "normal" and perfectly acceptable right? It's a culture thing. Taunting will get you a penalty in the NFL but not the NBA. Why? If you want the customers to be civil, set an example or take what you dish. Interestingly, in college hoops people rush the floor all the time at the end of a dramatic finish and no one has an issue with it. Human behavior is capricious and situational. Give John Haliburton a little slack. A reminder to not be on the court would be appropriate but anything more is overkill. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

  9. There is no defense for what hid dad did Giannis's dad has passed on he doesn't even have his dad and you got somebody elses dad in your face it's classless and disgusting

  10. I would love to know Poppa Haliburton's exact thought process in that moment. He had no concept how this would make his son feel.
    I feel terrible for Tyrese.

  11. How is Damian lillard a hall of famer what has he done great player Portland player but what accolades does he have

  12. Media hates small market team's so much. They go out of their way to not talk about them. Even when they're winning a playoff series. Or having the best offense in the league like last year. Lol it's sad, a joke and ridiculous. But they will talk about the Lakers all day everyday for hours on end.

  13. That dad is a clown fr tho why not just go celébrate an congratúlate ur son ??giannis hats off to u 🫡

  14. There should actually be a "SAVE GIANNIS" global campaign 😁
The guy wasted all his a carreer to give back everything to a useless Bucks team with overated players.
He needs to leave so we can see his full potential playing with truly good players. He can easily get another 3-4 rings before he is done.
And then he will be in the mix for TOP 3-5 of all time

  15. The fact the pacers have effectively suspended him for the playoffs shouldn't stop the league from taking action.

  16. Unpopular opinion and I hope it won't happen but I wouldn't be shocked if the celtics trade JB and Porz and get Giannis in a 3 team trade. They sadly have to reduce salaries

  17. It's a shame how the execs just blew that team all to smithereens. Jrew Holiday ain't wondering about his next championship.
