NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets GAME 7 LIVE | May 4, 2025 | NBA Playoffs 2K25
And good evening everyone from Houston with our second NBA playoff game seven of the day. It’s come down to a single game. The number two seed Houston Rockets are in the playoffs for the first time in 5 years with the toughness that has become their calling card. The free throw line. Jaylen Green running it back. Moses Moody says no. That is big time defense moving your feet just sliding those puppies. Steph pass Lucky to get through. Warriors got to be very careful and Moody the open three and it’s Moody again with a block on Jaylen Green. Buddy healed ahead of everybody laying it up and in. So Moses Moody obviously but a couple blocks. Majky read that perfectly. And then Brandon laying it up and in before Cam Whitmore could ever elevate. He quick shot him like Tony Parker off the wrong foot. And there is Amen Thompson flying home to finish that one. From the foul line and those right around Reed Shepard and right to the rim. There’s the difference. I’m tired. I’m fatigued. I’m going to squeeze off a three. No. Go to the basket. Moody tipping it home. Timing play. It’s Moses Moody and it’s Poimky. Santos to Looney to lay it up and in. I depend on. And here comes Amen. Thompson in full flight. He went with the step through and Pachki knocking it away. I’m gonna give that stop to Pat Spencer. He sprinted back, made sure that Euro step wasn’t going to be there. And speaking of sprinting, Butler right around Reed Shepard. He passed up a layup. Pachki missed the three. Curry with the rebound. And there is him shoot his bench. A look. Shangon with a spin. Had it knocked away. Draymond with a good help. Jimmy Butler always kind of assessing things. Setting up Steph for the layup. And Jimmy kept Shenon off and he’s behind the play now. And Jimmy running the floor and rewarded. Side step three. Got it home. Curry’s got 20 and the lead at 21. That’s your biggest lead of the night. Raymond back to Jimmy Butler. Butler just came back in from out of bounds. That’s Spencer inside to lay it in. And the Warriors dying for any kind of points in any kind of way. But putting it up and in. He’s got 16. A little ball fake. And the only reason it worked was because there was someone there. Moses Moody was running. Williams out of the corner. So Nate [Applause] Williamsky flipping it up and in. Brandon’s got 18. Jeff Green on Steph Curry. Shot clock down to seven. Draymond on a relocate. Steph on a sideep three. Got it. Been seeking out bodies, seeking destroy Tate and the men. Thompson and Butler give and go. Oldest playing back. And they are going to enjoy that week [Music] off. Heat. Heat. [Music] N. Heat. Heat. N. [Music] [Music] [Music] Let me see you. [Music] Get yourself. [Music] [Music] [Music] Look at the scoring approach in terms of where the points are coming from here for the Warriors. Their offensive game plan has been simple. Look to shoot it often from outside the arc. And the results have been outstanding. Impressive. And they’ve done a good job too of getting to the foul line. Really been in attack mode offensively. [Applause] [Applause] Tari E is out there with Alfaron Shenun. Then it’s Smith. Then it’s Fred Van Vleet. And it’s Whitmore in at the shooting guard position. That’s the five for Houston right now. Outside Butler Green with a screen on E. Here’s Butler off the left rim and out. Well, the defense refusing to give up anything easy. Love seeing that kind of intensity. And he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Time for two. Whitmore. [Applause] First free throw is good. And Houston making a change here. Holiday is checked [Applause] [Applause] in. And he makes the first. but misses the second. The Warriors lead by 17. Payton up top. Whitmore defending outside. Pajimski and the layup is good off the glass. Pajk’s got 15 points. Pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Now here’s Whitmore. He’s got five. Basket counts. Seven points in the game. Athleticism showing through for Whitmore. He doesn’t need much room at all to operate in [Applause] close. Outside Peyton. It’s tipped. E with a steel. Holiday against heel. Now here’s Whitmore. He has seven Shenun the screen down to five on the shot clock and it’s Whitmore missing. Yeah, he’s really scrambling to keep them in this game. Got to respect that hustle. The shot by Pajimky. No good. You know, after connecting on one three-pointer in the first half, he hasn’t netted another one since. Holiday against Heel. Pass to [Music] Shangun. Good. And that basket makes him eight for 14 for the game. Boy, he’s really been dominant in this one. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had much help. Now, Pajimki, he’s got 15. Here’s Payton Pure from three-point range. Their strategy has been pretty simple here in the second half. Attack from three-point range. Certainly, I mean, they saw a weakness in the perimeter defense and took advantage of it. Smith with a screen on heel. Holiday with the ball. Peyton covering the shot by Holiday. No good. It’s not easy to finish in traffic, but those are chances he has to convert. Kuminga the pass to Heel. [Applause] 35 seconds left to play in the third quarter. [Applause] He’s shooting free throws number four and five here. [Applause] and he can’t get the first one. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Good on the second one. 6 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Holiday taking his time here to the inside. Payton with a steel inside. Here’s Moody. Smith with the rebound. Smith’s got five rebounds in the game. Outside Holiday. One second left. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors out in front by 19 going into the break. Their efficiency has been off the charts. And it’s time now to bring you our State Farm assist of the game. You know, I’m kind of stoked that this was a choice because I love this pass. A remarkable find. He put his court vision on full display. Yeah. And with the accuracy to go along with that vision. I mean, he put the ball in the absolute perfect spot. That’s how you orchestrate it. And our coverage of game seven continues. Intense atmosphere right now on the court for Golden State to start the fourth. Moses Moody out there with Jonathan Kaminga. Then there’s Gary Payton second. Then there’s Jimmy Butler. And it’s Heel in at the [Applause] point. Heel passes to Butler. [Music] Green against heel. Moody on the wing. Six on the shot clock. Payton with a screen on Smith. Moody with it. He’s against Smith. Moody. Good. Moody’s got 19 points. Rockets trail by 19. Outside Green pass to [Music] Smith. And here’s Whitmore outside. Green fires in the triple. Green lethal off the catch. Good rhythm on that play. The Warriors lead by 16. And here’s Butler. It’s held in by Houston. Adams got four rebounds now. Even pass to Green. That foul gives him four. So he’s got to settle down a bit. [Applause] Smith with a screen on Peyton to the middle. Oh, they pick off the pass. And after a first half where he didn’t turn it over once, that has sure changed here in the second. And here we go. The Rockets in transition. E can’t get it to go. Boy, you love how guys are making plays for one another here. Yeah, just a balanced attack, a total team effort. Rockets trail by 16. And here’s Green from the Arc. Oh, Jaylen Green with a sweet stroke. And this is how he shines. He’s a big part of their floor space. And you know what? It’s all about the long distance game for him tonight. He’s getting it done from out there. Butler against Adams. Six to shoot. Butler against Adams. Butler so crafty around the rim. That’s what you call just really good awareness from Butler. Finding a way to score even when the clock is working against him. Adams with a screen on Peyton. Here’s Whitmore outside. It’s rebounded by Golden [Applause] State. Moody passes to Kaminga. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That’s on Steven Adams. Steven [Applause] [Applause] That free throw good from Kuminga. Van Vleet checked in for Whitmore. [Applause] That’s also good. So he hits both free throws. And so it’s Van Vleet with it. He brings it up for the Rockets. 17-point game. He takes it in and he makes it on the layup. Love how Van Vleet kind of sneaks in there and he does such a good job taking angles. And Steve Kerr calls time out here, rallying his guys to make sure they all know the [Applause] plan. Welcome to the crew. And let’s send it over to Ally Leforce. I was able to listen in on what Steve Kerr had to say to the team. And despite the lead, they are still coaching this team hard. In the huddle, they told their guys to stay alert. Do not give them anything easy. They want to protect this late lead. Ba. Okay. Thank you, Ally. We’re in the final quarter play here. 3 minutes in. Payton shot is good. And trust me, when the D’s slow to react, he’ll be the first guy to make them pay. Boy, the defense looks shell shocked. I mean, they’re on the ropes right now on their heels. Outside Green. Smith outside. Clock at six. Here’s Van Glee. Nice form on the 20-footer. He didn’t have a single point in the first half. Bagel zero points. Not him. He’s starting to get into the groove here in the second. Heel passes to Moody. Back to Heel from behind the ark. Rebounded by Green. Rockets trail by 15. Van Vleet left side. Green finds Van [Applause] Vleet over Payton. Another one falls for Houston. Good shot selection from Van Vleet. The Warriors lead by 13. Heel passes to Butler. [Applause] throws it up high. Oh, Kuminga popped for days and the lead increases on a crazy offensive sequence. Man, the dunk alone would have been incredible. Let alone the fact that it came off a pinpoint pass. Well, I tell you what, they’ve got this team just a step away from being completely sleep. Get stolen by Heel right side. Peyton down low. Here’s Butler. It’s hauled in by Houston. You know, guys, you can tell he wants to contribute more, but his teammates have picked up the slack for him. That’s what being on the team is all about. Ben Fleet. The pass to Green. Out of bounds. It’ll go to the Warriors. Jang checked in for Houston. Thompson comes in for E. The Warriors lead by 15. Outside Payton pass to Pajimsky. [Music] Outside Kaminga back to Pajki. Here’s Kaminga. There’s the three. And again, no good by Golden State. Defense better watch out. They better be alert because this guy can make threes as we saw in the first half. Curry against Van Vleet. The three. He’s got it. Six of 10 now. shut out from beyond the arc in the first period. He finally drains one outside. Green with a screen on Greenski and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. Rockets trail by [Music] 12. Foul. Green with the flush. Some of these dunks he throws down are absolutely absurd. What an athlete Green is. Once again, an explosive highlight on the AT&T 5G slam [Applause] cam outside. Kaminga back to Curry. 11 ft out. Curry at the rim. Working that in between area. Steph likes to keep the defense on its heels. Van Bleet scanning the floor. Here’s Green. The Warriors pull it in. Kuminga’s got his sixth rebound on the night. It’s Pimsky on the [Applause] wing outside. [Music] [Applause] Payton sinks that one from the post and the Warriors lead by 14. Boy, it doesn’t get much better than that. Curry with a really nice screen. Benle the pass to Thompson. Here’s Green. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Nice work that time by Draymond to draw the foul while in the act of shooting there. The Warriors 3 two [Applause] shots. The first free throw is good. There’s always a spot for a guy like Draymond Green on your side. An incredible defender. He’s unselfish offensively and a highly skilled passer. And Houston making a change here. Brooks has checked in. Jimmy Butler’s checked in for the Warriors. Moody comes in for Payton. And good on the second, so he makes them both. Yeah. In terms of winners in NBA history, you have the resume of Draymond Green. Thompson outside. Brooks outside. Pass to Thompson. Green with the ball. The Rockets with another [Applause] miss. Kajjimky with it. Working on Green. Pajimsky. Shot is good. A and just not letting up at all. I mean, you have to love this approach. You want to get the ball to the guys who make plays. If it’s working, keep working it. That’s what I said. Keep the pressure on. Brooks with it. Pass to Van Vleet [Music] to halt the run. Sinks it again. That’s his seventh late field goal in 11 tries. Yeah, the first half was one to deep six or forget. But in the second half, he’s looked a lot better. Now here’s Curry guarded by Van [Applause] Lee outside. Pachki. Green with a screen on Green. Here’s Pachki. It’s stolen by Green. Out to Thompson. Shangon. The screen to the paint. The basket’s good. Off the assist from Thompson. Thompson’s got four assists now tonight. Well, Alfaron Shingun’s developed into a great score. He can put up some big numbers outside. And here’s Butler outside. It’s rebounded by Shangon. It hasn’t been his best quarter. I mean, he’s trying to shoot himself out of the slump. Pass to Thompson. Now, here’s Green. Back to Shangun. Here’s Brooks and the rebound goes to the Warriors. But Jimky’s got a rebound number eight here already in the game. Moody passes to Butler outside. Curry takes the three. He buries it from three. Curry’s got five points now this quarter. Huge night for Curry in a great rhythm thus far. That’s always bad news for the team he’s facing. Brooks finds Shenun and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. It’s going to go on Draymond Green. Everyone in the building saw the obvious contact. Yeah, the officials didn’t need to talk that one over. It was obvious. Two shots. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw good from Shenun. [Applause] He’s off on the second. Tell you what, Alaron Shingon is a big with the modernday game. He scores in bunches inside, but he also can pass it and shoot it from the perimeter, too. Cody passes to Green outside. [Applause] Curry outside. Pajimky from downtown and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Pajimski’s got 11 in the second half. Rockets trail by 18. Thompson outside to the middle. And it’s Brooks missing. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on a 14-6 run. These guys really stepped up and played their hearts out to finish the series on their terms. So, it’s going to be on to the next round for the Warriors. Their shot blocking was a huge advantage in this game. Yeah, I love the excellent defense in the paint. It led to a lot of key stops. And for a series that went all the way, you have to appreciate their ability to close it out and advance. In game seven, you need guys who were going to be clutch, who were going to rise to the occasion, overcome the obstacles. They did everything they had to do. And one player just stole the show tonight, doing everything for his team. A monster night for Stephen Curry. The scoring effort from him, unreal, carrying this team. I mean, he was amazing tonight. And it’s a completely new group for the Rockets. Substitution on the court. Here’s he outside. Kaminga buries it from three. This is what winning is all about. Playing your best when it matters most.
