The Lakers just got dominated by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it’s all their fault. At the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers put together a package surrounding Anthony Davis to trade for Luca Donuch. It was viewed as the biggest heist in NBA history. In the long term, this was supposed to give the Lakers a franchise cornerstone to build around, but in the short term, it did make them a much weaker team, and it was very evident in the playoffs. Take for example this play in game three where Jaden McDaniels drives to the basket with ease. Or what about this play from the exact same game where McDaniels drives to the rim past Luca Donic and Jackson Hayes, making an easy layup. Do you see the similarity? The Lakers have no size to play defense against offensive bigs, and Luca Donuch isn’t necessarily known for his defense. It got so bad that even Rudy Goar put up a 27 point, 24 rebound, double double while shooting 80% from the field in game five. But I can’t help but think
