No real mystery why the Pacers won. They made their 3s, the Cavs didn't.
I don't think the Cavs are going to beat the Pacers at their own game. They might need to slow things down and turn this into a half court game, not a run and gun free for all.
Cavs was just 23% from three vs Pacers 53%. Cavs was also 72% FT vs Pacers 93%. That's the game right there. Bad shooting night for the Cavs, but they'll be back.
The Cavs lost on that 3 point percentage. If they can hit some of those good looks then it would be a closer game

the Cavs are not bad. they played great, but can't really matched the Pacers shot for shot. That's bad, since the Pacers be bombing from deep alot. Either, be Houston aggressive on the perimeter, or match the Pacers pace. I guess they'll know what to do in game 2.
Defense made the difference
Donovan is not that dude , now if Donovan was sitting down and you had Darius they would of won by a lot . Darius defense , energy and offense is on another level . Donovan thinks he’s that dude but in reality he’s just that sassy

Donovan just can't get it done when it matters. Dude plays hero-ball, tries to do it all himself and it just doesn't work. He had the same problem in Utah year after year and it's the same story in Cleveland….🤷🏻♂️

Orlando and Houston have more money and playing time
This Cavaliers have two many regular rotation players who are mediocre to poor players i.e. Dean Wade, Issac Okoro, Sam Merrill. Matt Strus is a poor starting and extremely overrated player by the Cavaliers. Wade and Okoro are 5th year players; Merrill is a 30 year old NBA and G-League journeyman player.
I have been posting to delusional Cavalier fans that you AIN'T going to win nothing with mediocre to poor regular rotation players like this. This Cavalier team like the last THREE YEARS have been in COLLAPSE MODE down the end of regular season (8-8 this season). The Indiana Pacers play extremely well against the Cavaliers going 5-3 with 2 wins in Cleveland the last 2 years; they are a young playoff experienced team with no fear of the Cavaliers, especially mediocre to poor regular rotation players like Wade, Okoro, Merrill and Strus.
Tonight Wade played 16 min; 0-2 fg; 0 pts something this 5th year poor player routinely does; same for Okoro a 5th year 1st round 5th overall pick BUST 15min; 1-4 fg; 2 pts. Merrill started and went 18min; 2-5fg; 6pts and Strus started 32min; 2-9fg; 7 DAMN pts. The Cavaliers could have been playing younger players and gotten them EXPERIENCE all season and at least had an UPSIDE even if they played as pathetic as Wade, Okoro, Merrill and Strus; who besides Merrill all have seen major minutes over their careers and in the playoffs. Even if Garland plays the Cavaliers need all rotation players and Strus to step up or the Cavaliers need to GET RID of all these mediocre to poor regular rotation players…because tonight was disgusting!😮
