Warriors-Rockets Game 7 Reaction 🏀 Golden State’s defense was HUGE – Perk | SportsCenter
All right, for more on this game seven win, Kendrick Perkins joins the show. And uh perk, the Warriors, they really showed that championship DNA closing out this game seven. What was the key for them in this game? Well, I tell you what, that was an impressive series all across the bo board. You talk about a brawl for it all, but when you look at Golden State and people think of Golden State, they think of offense because you had the greatest shooter that guard has ever created. And you think about the Splash Brothers, but they forget about the other side of the basketball and them and and them what they do on the defensive side of things, which help them win championships. They lock down when they want to. Especially Steph Curry. Tonight was one of those nights where I go back to the last championship against the Boston Celtics where in the NBA finals he was sliding his feet doing all the little things when he was struggling to score in that first half. That’s leadership. And then all of a sudden it was a ripple effect. We saw Pajimsky. He was getting in there getting dirty. We know what Draymond Moore and Jimmy are going to bring to the table. All of a sudden Buddy Hill Buddy Hill comes up with a block. So again, the defensive side of things was huge tonight for the Golden State Warriors holding the Rockets to 89 points. Yeah, for sure. The defensive side, but you mentioned a couple guys there and Steph who just had three at the half and finished with 22. And then Buddy going off in the first half. Burke, how big is that for this team moving forward? They’ve got the defense that you want right now, but offensively when Buddy Heield is able to kind of pick up the pieces if Steph is having an off night, well, it’s it’s going to be huge, especially going against Minnesota because everybody was wondering who’s going to be that third guy to step up, you know, uh, for scoring wise, right? We thought it was going to be Jonathan Kaminga, but they need to sit him down for the rest of the playoffs because mentally he’s not there. But Buddy Hill tonight, especially in that first half, was huge for them. But that’s what leadership does, right? It rubs off on guys. And so we’re watching a guy play with confidence. We’re watching the coach believe in them. Steph trusts him. Draymond Green trusts him. And I thought when you get that production from those role players like a Buddy Hill, I thought bringing in Kavon Looney today uh tonight was huge for uh Golden State. Big minutes from him. We know he has that championship pedigree. It’s going to be huge for them going down the line. They’re going to need that because Steph and Jimmy, they’re going to draw so much attention. You’re going to need somebody to step up and take that pressure off of those guys offense. Definitely was buddy healed tonight with those 33 points. When you see him going down like that from the outside, everybody was looking confident out there. On the other side of the things, this Rockets team, they got a great coach, they’ve got young talent. What do they need to look for moving forward? They need a closer. They need a closer. And I tried to defend uh Jaylen Green. I mean, look, I think his future is bright. It just don’t need to be with the Rockets, right? And they have a lot of attractive pieces. If I’m the Rockets, I got to address the issue of a of of shooting and a closer. And I’m going after Kevin Durant. I package up Jaylen Green, Cam Whitmore, and Jabari Smith and some draft picks and go out and get KD. Not Giannis, but Kevin Durant. And you pair him alongside uh Ahm Thompson, you know, uh Shangon with Fred Van Vleet. You keep big Steven Adams and now you rocking with something. They just didn’t have enough offensive firepower tonight, especially when the, you know, the Warriors locked in on Fred Van Vleet who had been, you know, giving them that work over the last three games.

Kendrick Perkins is a Warriors…Hatter…. get out of here.
the free throw difference is insane 9 to 21 and still lost hahahaha
Didn't Perk say the Warriors have zero chance in Houston?
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that gaylen green is warriors true MVP. Don’t get too excited warrior fans. Minnesota doesn’t have a diva that likes to hump other men. Warriors bouta get whooped. Let’s goooo
Perkins u faker than that Chain u wearing! Dont switch up now😂 GO WARRIORS!!!!
Experience always wins
You houston is going to drain their collateral for a 38 year old kd?
Imagine a hater acting to earn
Bad advice for rocket fans and we got some match up trouble vs the t wolves that we have to figure out fanboys
Splash Brothers 💛
Jalen Green is way overrated. This guys is no. 5th pick on his 4th year. Didn't change much since his rookie year
ROCKETS TRIED, CANNON CRIED AND BUDDY ARRIVED! WARRIORS IN 7
If Ant ,Ja, Shai are the new face of the league, then i retire watching basketball after Curry retires!! More than ever, it looks like the Referees decides who's going to win. Houston doesn't sell like the Warriors do. Curry finger is definitely still hurt. Jimmy still needs to be more aggressive! Buddy to the rescue 😮.
Didn’t Perky Boy like the warriors now he’s switching up?
STEPHEN CURRY GETS THE WORST WHISTLE THAN ANY SUPER STAR IN THE NBA. STEPH CURRY SHOT 2 FREE THROWS IN A GAME 7 WHERE HE WAS MAULED. SENGUN WAS GRANBING STEPH CURRY'S KERSEY RIGHT IN FRONT OF TONY BROTHERS EHO REFUSED TO CALL THE FOUL
Rockets beat an inexperienced rockets team in 7 games. Not impressive at all. Wolves in 5
lose the bimbo …
Side note shawty thick AF gahdamn 😂😂😂
God bless this team!
Who's Amar Thompson?
Klay thomsoon, amen Thompson, ausar thompson….warriors in 5
Kp mad af inside. Steph is the real reason him and lebron aint won 3 more rings than they did 😂
Perk crying inside 😂
Over the years Perkins and Barkley prove to be false prophets!!! DO NOT BELIEVE THESE GUYS!
There’s always a surprise hero in these things. Timberwolves won over a lame Lakers team – false confidence?
Ya. Great game but who the👀👀👀👀👀 sorry Dr Umar.
Perk picked rockets?
BUT THEY NEVER WANNA CRITICALLY TALK BOUT CURRY'S DEFENSE
Why does the Warriors-Wolves series go three days without a game between Games 5 & 6 with Game 7 on a Tuesday?
Playoff experience and championship DNA 🧬 matter with Jimmy, Steph and Dray it’s hard to doubt them in a game 7
Dang… warriors only took 9 free throws?
I do have to admit that I'm worried about the Warriors. Steph is still injured and it's not like his thumb is magically going to heal within 2 days. Plus the rest of the team's gotta be tired and worn out after the play-in tournament and the 7-games with the Rockets. Hoping for the best but it's gonna be rough for the Warriors going forward without much rest.
Perk is lost
Going after KD instead of Giannis is crazy work lol.
Houston would be stupid to go after KD.
rockets should go for giannis instead.
WE GOT THE LEAGUE SICK🤣🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆What happened to us being a first round exit??? Oh okay
Who’s the bunny 😮
500
I guess the warriors are NOT first round exits after all.
Buddy hield saved stephs legacy
The other NBA games are more harder the easiest path to win the four games the golden state warriors
Golden state warriors will good luck for the the third round the West conference championship
this game is so great that reminds me why I never watched NBA since Curry era. the game is so effective with so many 3 points that ignore & show less showtime. nba so much care on game effectiveness, even they ignore about declining viewers. 3 pointers make ball handlers like kyrie & lebron & big man like giannis westbrook look stupid. I really miss the showtime
Perk why pretend you just said yesterday the warriors are done now acting like you like them on their side.
No bandwagoning
Crazy Warriors bench scored 3 pts and advances…Lakers bench scored 4 pts and got eliminated.
trading assets for an aging KD aint the answer. Rockets need to keep the core and try to snag a star in FA not trade.
Every time i think GSW too small they prove me wrong man lbs they have been doing this since 2016 lol i always think they're too small and they find a way, idk if theyll be able to do that against Minnesota
Him and chuck are Dub haters 😂
Effects of an Upset Canon Curry 😁
