Miami Heat Expected To Have A BIG Offseason According To NBA Insider! Miami Heat Rumors

Could a big move be coming this NBA off season for the Miami Heat? NBA insider/analyst Zack Low believes a big offseason move could be coming for the Heat. We’ll talk about what Low said and also who the Heat could be targeting in this said big move. But we know this for absolute certainty. A big change, a roster overhaul if you will, needs to happen. The Heat have been the eight seed for three straight years. Two of them with Jimmy Butler. This year obviously ended up not being with Jimmy. They finished 37 and 45 and were embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers. But when you have three straight years of being in the NBA play and being the eight seed, ultimately being a firstround exit in two of those three years, there just has to be changes. the leaders of this roster either have to be questioned, changed, or you just have to build a better roster around them. And it is going to be a busy offseason. And we’ll showcase these numbers a lot throughout the offseason just to make sure people are aware. But going into the free agency and the trade and the draft period right now, the Heat are an under the tax team. They are above the salary cap, so no max contract be given out to a free agent. But they are still 10 minutes or 10 million, excuse me, away from the first apron. 22 million from the second apron, which gives them the ability to use the non-t taxpayer mid-level in free agency, which is a $14.1 million contract. They can still use the bianual, which is a $5.1 million contract. They can give out vet, buy second round picks, and they do have three trade exceptions, though those rarely get used. I wanted to show these numbers for a reason. I’ll explain more here in just a second, but make sure you are subscribed. And we do have an update on our May sub battle. We are only 5 days into the month of May. Happy Cinco de Mayo, by the way. But we do lead by 25 subscribers over 76ers. Now, thank you for all the new ones that have subscribed to the channel. Going to be a long offseason ahead. Hit that sub button and let’s take down the 76ers channel. Before we get into why I wanted to showcase those numbers, this is what Zack Low had to say and the reason why we’re making this video on what it is. Low said that he believes the Heat will try to butt into any superstar trade conversations that come up. And I showcased those numbers earlier because yes, we’re an above the salary cap team, but we aren’t a luxury tax team. What does that mean? Well, any big changes to the roster will have to come via the trade market because when you think about what the Heat could do in free agency, they can do a decent amount. They can hand out a relatively good contract, 14.1 million per season right now, but they can’t hand out a max deal. They can’t give out a $30 million contract. And if we’re going to be honest, there really aren’t any players worthy of that in free agency anyway. maybe Julius Randall, but I don’t really want to add him to this roster by any stretch. So, yeah, a change will have to come via trade. So, here are the five most likely stars/s superstars that could become available on the trade market. We know that there is a lot of moving parts and big-time players come available on the trade market left and right nowadays, but Giannis, John Morant, Zion Williamson, Trey Young, and Kevin Durant are five names that I do expect to potentially be moved this off season. Giannis has to ask for a trade, but I could argue that the four people underneath Giannis could just be traded out of nowhere by their team. We know Kevin Durant will be traded. He is the only one that I will guarantee gets dealt. We know that that marriage between him and Phoenix is ending. But Trey Young could be moved on by the Atlanta Hawks. Zion has not panned out. The Pelics can move off of him. And because of John Morance’s issues off the court, I could see the Grizzlies potentially looking to deal the former second overall pick. So, if the Heat want to make a big change to the roster and improve, it’s got to be via trade. It’s got to be one of those five guys that we just mentioned. But if we’re going to be honest here, folks, not even just on a pure basis of he won’t get traded, but if you are a Heat fan, as fun as it would be to theorize and fantasize about the idea of adding Giannis Antono, you have to rule him out via trade. It would be awesome. I just don’t see a world where that ultimately comes to fruition. Giannis is going to cost you all three of your tradeable first round picks. He will cost you your top players including Tyler Herro or Bameabio. And I don’t think if Giannis wants to come here in general and I think the Heat would get outbid for Giannis no matter what by a team like Houston, Brooklyn, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, New York, Knicks. Like those five teams could outbid you with absolute ease. So, I’d rule out Giannis and I honestly would rule out Zion Williamson because I don’t see Pat Riley swinging big on a trade and sending multiple first round picks for someone in Zion who doesn’t fit next to wear or BAM due to spacing on the offensive end, but is also very injuryprone and rarely on the court. So, out of those five players that I showcased a little bit earlier, the three players that I believe Pat Riley could target this off season would be John Morant, Trey Young, and Kevin Durant. These three we have talked about extensively this off seasonason already. We talked about them after the trade deadline as targets for this offseason for Miami because we know the Heat need a guard and they need more scoring from the wing. Kevin Durant provides that. John Trey Young could provide that point guard duties. So, these are the three players I could see Miami being linked to consistently this upcoming off season. Before we talk about what these three could fetch in a trade and how they would fit on a Heat roster, this is our pin comment on today’s show. So, I want to hear your answers. Who should the Heat try to trade for this off season? Name your top guy down in the comments. I did a perfect offseason plan for Miami over the weekend. If you didn’t watch that video, make sure you’re subscribed and go watch it. But I had in that video the heat training for Kevin Durant because that’s my perfect offseason. So, if my answer to that question that I just asked you is KD, I know he is old, 36, soon to be 37, but he is exactly what Miami needs, and I don’t see his game declining due to his scoring ability and the fact that he doesn’t rely on athleticism to beat you. He relies on his craftiness, his handle, his ability to just rise over the top of you with his outstretched arm jump shot. in his 26 point per game performances would just be huge next to hero and band because you don’t need to trade them to get KD. I think if you traded for Durant with Phoenix, who we obviously negotiated a lot with this upcoming or this past deadline with the Jimmy Butler saga, I think it would cost you Andrew Wiggins and Duncan Robinson. I think Wiggins has a value of a first round pick still. Duncan’s there to match salary. You give up one of your younger player assets in Nola Yovic. You give up the Golden State Warriors 20th overall pick plus one of your future first round picks. I just chose 2030, made it top 10 protected. And I think that could land you Kevin Durant who as I mentioned is still an elite scorer. And yeah, he had those injuries a couple years ago with the torn Achilles and he missed some time in the early 2020s after the 2019 2020 injury. He is still that dude, man. like he was so good this past season for the Suns and I wish he didn’t sprain his ankle because then he probably would have made an allNBA team this past year if he qualified for the 65 games played. He was just absolutely terrific for the Suns this year offensively. I don’t know if he could be a top guy on a championship contending team, but you added him alongside Hero and Bam. that just takes a lot off Hero’s shoulders. It allows Bam to just become that two-way third option that he is meant to be. It would provide a lot for you. And if some of you are saying that offering two first round picks, Yovic and Wiggins for a 36 37y old Kevin Durant too much, you have another thing coming. Kevin Durant’s going to be highly sought after this upcoming off season. and a team that just got eliminated from the playoffs like the Houston Rockets who desperately needs more scoring, they are going to be interested in KD and because they have a lot of picks they can offer, young players they can offer, they are going to have a strong and good offer to Phoenix. So, if you want to acquire KD this off seasonason, you can’t skimp out. You have to offer at least two first round picks and a legit couple of players as well like I did with Yoic and Wiggins. And even that might not be enough to outbid the Houston Rockets. I’m going to move over to Trey Young and John Morant here in just a second. I would like to get Kevin Durant. There is a very good chance that you don’t get Kevin Durant. So, if you do miss out on KD, assuming you pursued him in the first place, what’s the backup plan? Because, as we talked about, the Heat need a point guard. But I am skeptical of trading for Trey Young and I’m also skeptical of trading for John Morant. Both players have a lot of positives but also a lot of negatives. And are you willing to trade your assets to cash in them now to get a point guard of their caliber? They’re very good at being offensive hubs in generating a lot of scoring for their team. Whether it’s them scoring 24 a game and creating another about 20 points a game by facilitating and drawing double teams. Like Trey Young is just one of the biggest offensive initiators in the entire NBA. It’s truly just hard to fathom how many points per game that he generates for his team based off getting doubled in the pick and roll or getting inside, creating the defense to collapse and kicking it out. Like both players are spectacular. Now, I will say Trey Young when you compare him to Jaw is a better offensive hub, but he also is more volume, per se, as Jaw is a little bit more efficient, even though he shoots a worse percentage from three. And a lot of people like to look at Trey and say, “Oh, he’s an only three-point shooter, but yet his career average is around 35%, which is nowhere near at the top of the NBA.” But I think that is purely off volume. When you compare the two guards, I think Jaw is the better athlete. There’s no doubt about that. He’s the better defender than Trey Young and he fits better next to Tyler Herro than Trey Young. But you also have to give Trey props because he is on the court way more consistently than Jaw. Like Trey averages probably about 65 games per season, somewhere in that range. Jaw is around the 50 per game range. So, yeah, Trey Young has his deficiencies in terms of his defense, in terms of his efficiency in scoring the basketball, but at least he’s playing on a consistent basis for his respective teams. There’s positives to Jaw, there’s positives to Trey, there’s negatives to Trey, there’s negatives to Jaw. But let me know, we asked you earlier what your top trade target for the Heat would be this off season. I want to know what point guard you would prefer to trade for if it was between Trey Young and John. Type Ty for Trey, type JM for John Mar. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments. I would probably lean John Morant out of the two because when you think of the two guards that you could add to this team, Trey Young could not play next to Tyler Hero. So, if you are trading for Trey Young, I think you would have to include Tyler Herro in that package. And I’m serious about that because a Trey Young Tyler Herro backcourt, although it would be very good offensively, would be one of the biggest disasters on the defensive side of the court as you could possibly imagine. Tyler Hero got targeted, abused, and he was downright the reason why you had one of the worst defensive performances in an NBA series in the playoffs in history. That’s how bad hero was against the Cavs defensively. If you had both him and Trey Young, it would be barbecue chicken in that back court. So, I think you would have to lean towards John Morant. But the issue is is that I think John Morant would cost you a pretty penny on the trade market. And Bleacher Report actually just released a trade idea for the Heat and Jar. The trade idea was this. Miami gets J and Jay Huff. I don’t know why they included Jay Huff, but they did. The Grizzlies would then get two young players in Yovic and Hawz, salary filler/veterans and Duncan Robinson, Kyle Anderson in three firstround picks. To me, that’s a little bit too much for John Mor. I honestly am fine with that package if you cut down three first round picks to two that then we can have a conversation. But three first rounders are egregious. The three first rounders they said, by the way, were this year’s Warriors pick. Uh I think 29 and 31, which I don’t even think is a it is a realistic trade now, I guess, since we have our own pick in 2026 and 2028 now. Um but either way, that feels a little bit too rich for John Morant. If you wanted to do Yic Hawz, salary filler, a 2030 pick and the 20th overall pick in this year’s draft, yeah, okay, I could deal with that. But three first rounders is a little bit too high. So when you have and round out the conversation between what point guard would be better fit for Miami, it’s an interesting one because to me, Trey Young is a disaster. You can’t trade for him and play him next to Tyler Hero. So, if you trade for him, well, you need to include Hero in that deal potentially. Jaws price tag, if it really is three first round picks and young players, is a little too high for a player that has off-the-court concerns and injury concerns and the questions of how he will age gracefully in the NBA due to his play style. Like, what is the move here? What do you do next if you miss out on KD and then you factor in what I just talked about with John Trey? because then it just seems like it might be running back this roster despite a couple changes on the outside of maybe trading an Andrew Wiggins or a Terara Rosier. Like the Heat are in a very interesting spot and maybe they just have to take the chance on a Jaw or Trey Young this off season to try to just change the roster up a little bit. The Miami Heat finished 37-45 and were swept in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The Miami Heat roster needs massive improvements, and the only way to do that is to make a big trade.

Kevin Durant, Ja Morant, and Trae Young remain the most likely Miami Heat trade targets this NBA Offseason. The Heat roster needs a wing scorer, and a true point guard more than anything else.

  1. Bro if miami is able to snag Ja Morant and Kd without losing Bam or herro im gonna praise em as the Godfather once again i hope this was the plan all along when he was willing to lose jimmy

  2. This biggest move we can make this offseason is have Pat Riley step down. It’s just time. Pat is an icon but the game is passing him by at this point.

  3. Stupid to want kevin durant but not giannis. Kd can and probably will get hurt again especially not worth all those picks and jovic

  4. Why can’t we get both KD & Trigga Trae? If we can get KD with ya trade here…then shouldn’t we be able to get Trae with a Herro, JJJ, K. Anderson & 1st…extend Mitchell…that gives us Mitchell, Trae, KD, Bam & Ware…could this be a real possibility…

  5. Trae has more athletes and weapons to use on Atlanta, so I don’t see why we would think getting him makes us any better than Atlanta.

I would trade Tyler + other stuff (maybe Tyler, Wiggns, picks) for Ja, but I wouldn’t give up Jovic or Ware. I think Ja would have a decent understanding of how to play with Jovic having played with Aldama. He’s way better than Tyler off the dribble, better at driving into the paint, better overall in the paint and at the rim, and has much more room to be helpful on defense.

I’m down to trade for Ja, but only if we trade Tyler and keep our young guys. The defense would be too horrific if he’s next to Tyler, and I don’t wanna deal with Tyler’s extension to begin with. I like Tyler, I certainly respect his aggression and commitment to improvement, but he will just never be worth that much cap space.

You could still sign Alexander-Walker, I think that’s a good move regardless of the direction we go.

  6. I believe if we don’t get KD we should go for Ja and the “heat culture” hopefully helps fix his off court issues and he can play those 60+ games a season

  7. I like the KD trade that you did. People swear anyone we have is better than Durant lol.

And immediately after, I'd move Herro+JJJ for Trae or Ja

    Trae/KD/Bam/Ware

Sign Naz Reid or Nickel Alexander

    Move rozier for whatever

  8. If I'm the Heat, Giannis and Ja would be my most prioritised trades. Zion & Trae I wouldn't mind, KD just isn't worth it anymore imo.

  9. JM. We need more athleticism and rim pressure.

The injury history is an issue but I'm willing to take my chances over having to find a way to cover both Trae and Tyler on defense. Ja isn't some lockdown defender, but I can't imagine him being worse than Trae.

  10. I think the trade should be Nic Rolloff back to BOS Chat Sports! What horrible trades! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Second Pat should step down, Spo needs to be elevated to President & takeover Pat’s position, & have Chris Quinn take over as HC! Finally blow this team up & accumulate picks for the future like OKC did!

Trae Young is overrated, inconsistent, a crybaby, & can’t defend worth a damn! You want to put that next to Tyler?! 🙅🏻‍♂️

Ja Morant is a problem off the court & a constant distraction & that’s in MEM, imagine what he would be like in the MIA lifestyle! No thx!

KD is old as dirt & washed! As we have witnessed, he doesn’t impact winning anymore! You really want to give up assets & piece for that & maybe just for 2 yrs?! Stop it!!! 🙄

  11. Idk how realistic this is, but I would love to see them go out and grab Zion and KD, Zion over KD because of age and tread on the tires. But if we could lock them both down that would be outstanding. KD would be nice for sure I just think he's worth the asking price at this point in his career 🤷b How bad you wanna trade him Phoenix?

  12. 3 first rounds is not to high we need to get as much out of tyler and bam as we can now. make the trade for ja
