Jimmy Butler Worth ‘Every Freaking Penny’ According To Warriors Owner | Miami Heat Wrong To Move On?
Welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you’re doing well out there. If you guys could subscribe, that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. Hey, congratulations are in order to Dwayne Wade and Udonis Hasslam. Both joining the Amazon Prime basketball coverage team, Udonis Hasslam, studio analyst. Dwayne Wade doing a little bit of both. Exciting to see that tandem together. I think that’s going to be uh Magical Television, Candace Parker, Steve Nash on the broadcast as well. Uh I believe they also I think they’re getting Dirk Dirk Nitzky as well. Pretty pretty stack crew for the Amazon. Getting that next generation. I saw Melo is going to NBC. Excited for the next generation of uh of of sports coverage and seeing what the NBA is going to bring. As much as I like, you know, look, I like inside the NBA as much as the next guy. There’s no it’s it’s got it it’s it’s got its it’s its uh perfect gimmick, right? Chuck and Shaq beefing with each other, saying silly things. Some cities getting fat shamed. Ernie’s going to try and rein everybody in. Kenny tries to keep it steady. It’s a It’s a delight. You know, who doesn’t love that? But I am excited to see what the next era brings. I’m happy for D. Wade. I’m happy for Udonis has. I’m happy we got some heat representation. Hell, they could bring that uh that that um accountability that D. way put out there in the in the last podcast episode that he put on the Y network which uh he’s doing a really good job with and you know put out there about the he was he revealed that Bamabio wanted that smoke of the Cleveland Cavaliers and he goes no you don’t and then he’s like you wanted that smoke then you got smoked I was like he’s kind of right though he is kind of right Miami Heat sitting here trying to gather themselves figuring things out. It’s all a nightmare for everybody right now. You’re watching the Cleveland C. Here we are tonight. You have a series. You want to talk about a nightmare scenario of watching the NBA playoffs? I got a Celtics and Knicks series tonight. Thankfully, the Cats are on because pass. I mean, I I mean, can I root for the series to go a 100 games so they just play each other to dust? Like, there’s no interest whatsoever for me on who wins that series. just pick a winner and I guess I got to root for and by the way not exactly my favorite teams ever on the other side of the bracket between the Cavaliers and the Pacers. Like I don’t have any love loss for the Pacers and their crackpot announcer Mark Bole. Um I guess Cleveland because of Struse even though he’s changed with that hair. I the if you were to tell me like, hey, I got to rank the the most disliked teams that I have in the Eastern Conference, it would probably be these four teams outside of like Philadelphia because they’re annoying. Um, but yeah, this is not this is not pleasant. This is not a pleasant experience. And then on the other side we got in the west I you know OKC and are just you know tremendously dominant. Nothing against them really. Um Denver I was never a fan of Michael Malone. Unxious. He’s gone now. So I I I I’ve got no dog in that race. Then of course we get to the other West which is the Wolves and the Golden State Warriors. My petty watch was a fail last night though. It wasn’t one of these ones that stress watching as as a person who has a black belt in petty watching. Last night it didn’t even I didn’t even break a sweat. I’m just like I know the Rockets are not winning this game. They can’t score. I’m watching Shenon brick layup after layup. I I’m like this. And as soon as I saw him in Thompson’s calf flare up, I’m like this is a lost cause. There is no shot. Buddy healed can’t miss. you’re gonna have to get him next time. And that’s what we’re going to see because like look, the Wolves disparaged the Lakers, kicked them. I mean, just just curb stomped him. Rudy Gobear looking like Wilt Chamberlain in the last round. You would think there’s some of that, although Draymond Green um you know, is not your typical small big. I mean, he is a he is a great defender. Jimmy Butler, you know, there’s more reinforcements on the go-to guys in this series. As an oddity, Jimmy Butler has really sucked against the Minnesota Timberwolves ever since his whole original Make a Stink. Like his his first piece of work of Make a Stink was the Minnesota Timberwolves. Just when you thought an artist couldn’t top himself, there he was with Miami’s Make a Stink, which he I mean, he made he made the Minnesota Timberwolves practice look like a mere child’s play to what he did with the Miami Heat. It really wasn’t close. It really wasn’t close. Like, that was one of those things where it’s like, oh, you know, he’s he’s kind of like a rascal and it was a practice. like do you remember him actively tanking games and the war of words the way that it was like yes of course he had the Rachel Nichols interview he kind of just did that in a press conference and it never really got past that and there were more suspensions um there was a there was a real it was interesting because there was a real bitterness towards the end of it right like this was one of those things where he didn’t necessarily get to go where he wanted to go he ended up going to Philadelphia because remember the negotiations are were with the Wolves and the Heat And those got very contentious between Tibs and Pat Riley. Um, I believe at one time it was rumored that Pat Riley uh said, “Get your own house in order, mother bleeper or something like that.” He denied it. I believe George Sedano reported that and they they uh they they denied it to to high heaven, but it was a thing that was out there in the ether for a little bit. And then here are the Heat just years later watching their own house not in order. Um, and now Jimmy Butler is taking on a Minnesota Timberwolves team that does not have Carl Anthony Towns. Andrew Wiggins is on the Miami Heat kind of. And now they’re taking on their new brash superstar who I mean is awesome. I mean, if you wanted to give me any player in the league that I I could hope be on the Miami Heat one day, it is Ant-Man. He uh he is he I mean, he’s the guy. And I think the Wolves will win this series. I think that they they could win. It’s it’s one of these things that’s it’s odd to me. It’s like I feel like I’m going to watch this series and I think either the Wolves are going to steamroll them or I think the Warriors will win a long series. But it being every other day, you’re wondering how those old guys are going to are going to hold up feels like it the size advantage. Although there’s, you know, there’s a little bit of head game, Rudy Gobear, Draymond Green thing going on there, of course. It feels like Julius Randle, Jimmy Butler. It feels like the Wolves should have the better of them, but I’m not confident on it. I’m not like I’m not I I don’t want to like be like, “Oh, Wolves and five.” Like my heart my reaction was wolves in five. But then I’m like, “Yeah, but you know, you just can never count out Steph Curry. You really really can’t.” But I bring all this up because there was some quotes today in the athletic from Joe Leup, who is the Warriors principal owner, their governor, whatever they say. And they were talking about the the whole Jimmy Butler trade and it’s, you know, now it’s the best it’s the best trade ever. Yeah. And it’s funny because, you know, going back into it, you remember we we went through this whole saga. We’ve done how many episodes and videos and podcast shows and me with Leroy talking about this. But it is funny because the original the original temperature on that was the Warriors were not going to trade for Jimmy Butler. They were out on that. The locker room was concerned about it and they’ve been kind of open about it. But now the owner was saying and and they he’s completely 180ed it where he says quote yes there were parentheses concerns about Butler but you do your analysis you make your choices and yeah it was a little bit of a risk but we’ve got to take risks in this life and he’s worth every freaking penny. That’s all I can say. He’s fantastic. Wow. Hey, that’s the the man the the one man’s treasure, right? Like that’s how that’s how it is right now. The Heat. They were at their wits end with Jimmy Butler, Pat Riley, and it all frayed. And right now, as it stands right now, right now, Jimmy Butler’s got the last laugh on the Heat right now. Is he here just to win a round? I don’t know. I I think Jimmy Butler is still I believe in this thing to win championships. Although he definitely wanted to get his two-year 113 million extension. Will it be worth every price if they don’t win the championship and you’re paying Jimmy Butler at 37 just to because you gave Steph Curry a respectable cast? I guess yes if you’re Joe Leo. The thing that was interesting about this all is right is that they seemed like their plan A was to go to Kevin Durant who n who who at a moment fleeting moment seemed like maybe he was going to head to the Miami Heat. Um because Jimmy the whole time was gung-ho on the Warriors because that’s the only thing that his management had the a-okay yes they’ll get an extension on. And it wasn’t until we got to the point of this whole thing hitting its end that the Warriors are finally like fine, we’ll give an extension. We’ll bring him in with Steph Curry. And then look, I’ve said there are part there there are things about the the Warriors I’ve been very very jealous of. Very jealous of. And I got to say probably numero uno is the way they’ve done right by Steph Curry. the way they’ve done right by Steph Curry dwarfs even ways the Heat did right by Dwayne Wade. Um, and including now giving him another puncher chance. Whatever this season ends up, at least they did right by their guy, taking a home run cut. They didn’t cheap out. They went full go. Will it work out for them? Maybe they get burned if they get gentleman swept. And now they’re sitting here and being like, “Well, was that worth beating the worst offensive team in the playoffs that we’ve seen?” you know, this, you know, this this side of the 2020s. I don’t know. But he says right now, yes, he feels that way right now. I think if even if the Warriors lose this to go from where they were, which was the depths of hell to a playin to beating a two seed to now getting to this point of of facing a Wolves team um that has one of the best bright stars in the league. if they’re able to even get past has this to get to the conference finals, I think unquestionably, yeah, that you have to say it’s undoubtedly been a success for them. Um, and was worth bringing him in. And look, I don’t think they’re going to ever have Malcontent Jimmy because I don’t imagine, crazy as this may see, I don’t see Jimmy Butler at 37, 38 asking for unless they win the championship, but he wants one other sweetener. I can’t imagine this happening again. One would think. One would think. So, they got Jimmy Butler fat, sassy, and ready to roll through the rest of his career. I think they’ll get the best of Jimmy Butler. And you can see, look, he’s right now doing all his Jimmy Butler things that he’s happy about. He’s, you know, he’s replaced Max Shre with Buddy Healed. He’s got all the jokey jokes. He seems to love Draymond Green. It’s all good. It is complete Butler honeymoon stage right now. There’s nothing that any of the Heat can look at and be like, you know, like what? I think the Heat, look, the Heat made their bet. They were done with him. He completely kaputed and blew up uh any goodwill. The game that they had down here was uh you know, was an atrocity in in frostiness. But he’s still playing and the Heat are not. The Heat suffered one of the most embarrassing series defeats in their franchise’s history. What they got from him and Andrew Wiggins was an absolute 0.0. It was impossible to feel like you got less than what Jimmy Butler was giving you. And somehow they got it. They gave Andrew Wiggins their number. And so you got to feel like some part of it is just Pat Riley sitting by every night hoping that the Warriors will be done with. This doesn’t end with Jimmy Butler holding a trophy because at the end of it, that’s what you really got to hope for. Um, I think the Warriors maybe their grades lest they’ve already got, you know, a lot of championships over the years. Steph’s got four rings. So, I mean, if they’re able to get this one, forget about it. I don’t think that they will. I mean, it just feels like they’re too flawed and too old and too small to beat all of the teams that are left in the pool. But look, their organization did right by Steph. That was the ultimate. The guy looked absolutely miserable and depressed. And sometimes the things that you didn’t intend to happen do work out for you, right? Look no further than the Miami Heat in the 2020 run. Like, let’s not forget, like, I know that the Warriors went into this, they wanted Kevin Durant. They had, let’s be real about, they had no interest in Jimmy Butler because they did think he was a bit of a a headcase, which when you don’t pay him, he will be. When you do, he could be fantastic. Give you some great moments. He’s a great guy to to to have in in the in the foxhole with these games. He’s a he he he he is when all those circumstances are right, but they didn’t want him. They wanted Kevin Durant, but sometimes it works out for you. KD didn’t want to be there. And look no further than when the Heat were going into the 2020 season, 2019, 2020, dude. They they they they were trying to trade Goran Dragage. They were trying to trade Goran Dragage. And if it wasn’t for the Dallas Mavericks reneggging on that deal because they were like, “Oh, I thought you said Derrick Jones Jr. who the hell knows where the Heat would have been if they didn’t have Goi.” Goi was a I mean, he was the leading scorer up until he got hurt in that finals run. So sometimes the deals you don’t intend to to do work out better for you. You know, they do. Hell, there there’s stories about, you know, rivals back in the day wanting Chris Cayman instead of D. Wade, the organization convinces him to go with D. Wade. Like, it it happens. And sometimes you fall back into the situation you didn’t even realize would end up being best for you. So, when Joe Lob says right now, he says that he’s been worth every freaking penny for this season. Absolutely. The Warriors have absolutely gotten their money’s worth from Jimmy Butler. How will they feel in a couple of years? Well, dude, I mean, Steph Curry’s gonna be pushing 40. Draymond already looks like he plays like he’s 40. I imagine there’s going to be a part where the Warriors imagine that there’s going to be a part where the world the where the the wheels eventually fall off the Warriors. But that’s that was that’s that is usually how it it goes when it comes to these championship windows. and the Heat have never been in the business of paying their guys into these elderly salaries. It’s why the Bridges end up a little bit, you know, frazzled at the end. For the most part, they’ve done a a good job at reconciling and and making these things better, but it doesn’t mean that there weren’t ugly times and that they haven’t suffered black eyes and and things like that. Like look, to be fair to the Warriors. What they’ve done great for Steph Curry. They didn’t do so fantastic with Klay Thompson. You know, they basically told Klay Thompson to take a hike. You you’re you’re blown Achilles, blown ACL, get the hell out of here. Go play for the Mavericks. So, it’s not like they’re angels, but they always just seem one step ahead. They always seem like they’re just one step ahead of the Miami Heat. And so, I bet you in Joe Leob’s mind right now that yeah, he does feel like Jimmy Butler’s worth every freaking penny. Even if they get gentleman swept this next round and if they are able to beat the Wolves and absolutely um man you know but I’m not going to look I’m people have asked like toes are you rooting for the are you rooting for Jimmy you not rooting for Jimmy look I got my teams that I’m rooting for Jimmy against all right I’m rooting for Jimmy Butler if he faces the Celtics and they faces the Knicks dude then I’m going to be rooting for a Jimmy Butler ring and that’s the facts about it like you guys if you want to know my the the true watch me am I as dedicated to the petty much as I have been. Um I it was a first round series. I was like definitely like, “All right, let’s hope that him blowing a a 3-1 lead would absolutely be hilarious. I will definitely dance on that.” But it didn’t happen. And I and I kind of knew four minutes into the game it wasn’t going to happen. So didn’t lose any sleep over it. I’m not like in my prime petty uh petty watching shape that I have been in past years. Um, I don’t feel the need to be uh quite as much because this doesn’t even feel like uh the LeBron petty years because the LeBron thing is like that caught everybody off guard. It caught a lot of people off guard back then. This did not. You knew it was going to come to an end at some point. Um, but here we are. Here we are. We will see what uh what ends up happening in this series. Right now, the only series I don’t want to watch is Nick Celtics. I have no interest in that. And uh you know, thank god I have the cats as a distraction tonight cuz they will always soothe me. I always have the cats. It will be interesting though. I don’t know when Pat Riley’s going to speak. You have to imagine that he was on his couch last night with his man Thompson jersey on hoping that uh that that would falter. So I don’t know when Pat Riley’s going to speak, but I do think that’s an interesting thing to uh you know to to venture on. I I I I don’t know if I’m in the in the business because you bastards are all like you ruined the franchise, which I I did not I’m not responsible for anybody else’s words, but it would be interesting to know what Pat Riley’s thoughts are on where Jimmy’s at. Um how much they want to approach that anymore because it feels like, you know, all of the players and the coaches, they’re exhausted by it, right? I give them a little bit of a pass even at the end of the year. Pat, we haven’t got his thoughts on it and and it is in some way, shape or form, right or wrong, even though there are way more pressing issues because this thing is over to know where he stands on it. What does he think about Joe Lacup thinking that Jimmy Butler has been worth every freaking penny and the Heat did not. They did not think he was worth one more penny. They thought that he was worth what his contract was and that was pretty much it. Maybe they would have talked extend, but you know what it is in this day, what he wanted. And uh so that that would be an interesting thing uh to to get the Godfather’s thoughts on as this uh as this all rolls on. But we’ll have to uh wait for whenever that time does come. Uh whenever that whenever we do get to the point where Pat Riley does speak to the media. But for right now, uh, we just sit by and, um, you know, continue to watch everybody else, uh, do their postseason dance while, you know, I’m sitting here looking at sad bleacher report trades.
Tobin reacts to quote from Warriors Owner Joe Lacob saying Jimmy Butler has been worth every freaking penny after making the 2nd round. He admits there were concerns about signing him. Plus news that Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem will join Amazon for their NBA coverage next season.

Man I hope they lose this series
I’d like to hear his comments about Jimmy after this series where he’ll inevitably no show against Minnesota like he always does, hell he might even find reasons to miss a game or two 💀
I’m watching the warriors series thinking Jimmy looks pretty old. I think we got off of him at the right time
Looking forward to seeing Jimmy tank their season next year!
They're still in the honeymoon phase….we'll follow up with them next year.
I didn't want say this, the nightmare "would" be if Jimmy gets his first ring with the Warriors because of the Heat debacle!
So much negative comments sheesh
Still talking Jimmy Butler?!….Live In The Now.
Peace and Blessings everyone. Go Heat.
Bam is the next bridge to burn. Give it 7 -8 years
Tobin, how can you say the 120 million for Jimmy was worth it if they loose to the Timberwolves?
We can’t be mad at jimmy for wanting more, very clearly this team showed how trash they are without him,he literally was like bron with that 07 roster he made everybody look better than they were
Even Tobin knows deep down in his gut it’s possible Golden state wins.
WARRIORS in 6 POSSIBLY 5!!! The WARRIORS just got THROUGH the TOUGHEST and most PHYSICAL team this SIDE of DETROIT. The WOLVES are NOT the DEFENSIVE team the ROCKETS are, THEY have NOBODY to GUARD Steph and Rudy's BRAIN is in the BACK pocket of Draymond. NOT to MENTION the WARRIORS beat the WOLVES 3 of 4 TIMES without Jimmy!!!
heat fans hating on jimmy is just sad 😂
Interesting that he did not think anyone was worth one more penny after a certain age and after what they did for the team but Pat Riley still collecting a check at 80. He is not playing but delivering other services.
Honestly i follow ypur post because of your thoughs about miami but now seems like you looked back and tryed to figured out things with jummy so hes gone look forward and be more punctual intead of viceral
Yes he is !!!!!!!!!!! Pat Riley had to make a trade and pair him with someone else and we would’ve had a ring
Warriors on 6 remember this
i hope dubs win it all this year. jimmy deserves a ring. am glad we moved him cause he wasnt getting it here dragging bambi and zerro and slowstra through every playoff run.
