NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves GAME 1 LIVE | May 6, 2025 | WCSF 2K25

Now they’ll face the most battle tasted playoff team in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors in game one of this best of seven series. Rebound and finish. The Warriors are the better offensive rebounding team. Step to Dr. Perfectly delivered. That’s involving Goar. They ran the pick the picker and Steph set a back screen first and then got a screen. Got a little separation off of that action. Looking for Kanga. Could it beat Goar? He does. Did you see Steph take a beat there and throw a ball face? And everybody [Music] here gets the the screen down. The two defenders jump at him including Draymond’s man. Make the pocket pass. Shot clock goes on beat the buzzer. This is the time for them to go inside without Bear in there. Li Steph Curry on your own. You’re setting higher screens on McDaniels. Step out. Here we go. Little Curry flurries. He’s got 12. That happening to the corner in around Goar down for the main three. Attacking jumper. I’m telling you, the steal, the assist, and now back to make backto back made baskets. It’s just something about the way the game flows. Go on a rear post up on Steph. Big to big pass is blocked and they make it pay off. Draymond a scattered break. Ball screen three. That’s Draymond and Steph Curry. Mental telepathy. No one’s on Draymond where the help definitely wasn’t going to be. That’s the problem with Anthony Edwards. You don’t want to get too close or he’ll blow by you as Kaminga rides up and hits him mid-range. They really need him to get going again. He’s got eight points. Hurry up. Scatter GT2. Just back and lean in and the clever move. That’s footwork. Fully baldled and footwork to finish off a made basket. GP2 gets a layup right back. Well, GP2 has made up his mind. He’s just going to sprint with the J McDaniels is a great defender and Curry is still got 21 tonight as he blocks. They’re moving. There’s no way I can get around and then Draymond got it in the middle. Move the ball around. find the open man to make a shot clock at one beat the buzzer and put it in. That was interesting cuz JK told TP2 to go take the split action decision-m responsibilities. I’ll be on the weak side if you guys need me. And once he got it, he was ready. Kaminga has to be loves it. Step Rooney kept it alive and knocked it in. That’s 19 second chance points again. Wow, he gathered and hammered. TP2 took it away. GP2 in the foot race. TP2 laying it up again and will set him in the back. What a silly foul and an opportunity for three-point play and warrior ball. That’s why you need Draymond Green in the game for three. Six-point lead to the ball. Draymond down the lane to dunk it down. Exclamation point. And he went night night himself. He’s doing the night [Music] night. Heat. Heat. [Music] N. Heat. Heat. N. [Music] [Music] [Music] Get Heat. Heat. [Music] N. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] And it’s Devenenzo in at the point. Fourth quarter of basketball. We’re about a minute into it. Curry good. Well, pre-shot preparation and being ready on the catch. That is Stephen Curry in a nutshell. Timber shooting at 46% making some buckets. Even passes to Alexander Walker. Hit by Reed. fires at the elbow. Oh, and that one had the right spin on it and it is good. And the Timberwolves lead by two now. Here’s Moody Edwards defending outside. Curry to take the lead. Oh, Curry so accurate from three-point range. He has a lot of points from long range this half. He’s taking advantage of a really tired [Applause] [Music] defense. Reed with a screen on [Applause] paper. Alexander Walker with the ball. Reed with a screen on P. Shot by Alexander Walker. No good. Golden State gone two for two from three-point landing to start the fourth quarter. Moody with it. Good job by Edwards. Pass to post. And here is Moody. Four on the shot clock. Tires from 18. Even Jenzo with the rebound. Timberwolves trail. A little over two and a half minutes have passed here in the fourth quarter. Bounce pass from Clark. Minnesota needs to get off a shot here. Edwards no good. And here’s Curry who brings it up for the Warriors. A great fourth quarter. Just giving up two points. The baseline jumper goes down. And it’s a three-point Warrior lead. And he’s starting to show that killer instinct this quarter. Looking to extend the lead. We’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. And that timeout by coach was carefully measured, wanting to make sure that everybody is on the same page here. And while we’ve got a moment, let’s send it over to our terrific reporter, David Aldridge. David. Hey guys, here’s what Chris Finch went over with his guys during the break. Now, with the game in the balance, coach told his team to play loose. Don’t overthink it. We got this far playing our game, and we can win the same way. Back to you guys. Thank you, David. Here’s Alexander Walker. Eight away. The rebound by Post. Not a lot falling for him in this quarter. He’s got to stay aggressive, try to break through, see if he can get an easy opportunity. Curry against Curry kicks to Kaminga. Pass to Pajki. Five on the clock. Golden State moving the ball around. Really left alone that time. Moody’s got the lead up to six now for the Warriors. The defense is far too slow to close out on those three-point attempts. Curry against Con. They need this. Gets it from three-point range. Conley’s got himself going there. His first points of the game on the deep ball. Warriors leading by three. Curry with it. Connley picks him up and it’s Alexander Walker in the corner. Shoots over Poachki land on the front of the rim in front. Well, he had trouble making shots in the first period, but rounding into himself here in the second. Here’s Pensky outside curve. Back to [Applause] Bajki. There’s the pick. The three. The rebound by the Timberwolves. Well, this has not been his finest hour, but give your teammates some credit for doing the job of stepping in. Here’s Edwards. Edwards gets it done in zone. And the fourth quarter just has not been kind. Only one bucket in five. pass the [Applause] post back to Curry puts up a three and again it’s the Warriors missing Minnesota in the lead [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now and he could not get that one to go out of contact and he’ll go to the line for two. Let’s remember Anthony Edwards is 6’5 with a 69 wingspan. Those long arms very difficult to deal with defensively. Draws the contact there. [Applause] First free throw is good. Yeah. and their free throw shooting has really improved here in the second half. Some changes for Minnesota. Go. He’s checked in for Reed. Julius Randle comes in for Clark. And it’s Dante Dvenenzo in for Nquille Alexander Walker. Green. He’s checked in for Golden State. Butler comes in for Moody. No good on the second free throw. Well, I mean, a semi productive trip to the free throw line, but we’ll see whether or not it costs it. Outside Kinga Curry against [Applause] Connor. Will it let go? And a lot of contact on that one. So he’ll shoot two here. Michael Conley picks one up. What you appreciate most about Curry is his confidence, especially when it comes to how far he can connect from. A chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Timberwolves. You love how they’ve lived in the paint, making the defense just consistently have to collapse and still finding ways to convert. And you also have to love the way they’ve gotten out and run in transition. A ton of good chances tonight simply from being willing to run the floor. [Applause] Stephen Curry hits them both. This is about the last guy you want to send to the stripe right now. They keep fouling him. He keeps making them. [Applause] Now here’s Devenzo. He’s covered closely and Michael Connley good for three. And the Timberwolves lead by three. Mike, you know his three shot preparation is excellent. catch and shoot. Bucket. Yes, sir. Curry. Go pulls it in. Go has got double digit rebounds now in the game. Randall against Green. Randle no good. Warriors trail by three. Here is PMski and again it’s the Warriors missing. Randle dishes to Conra and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up and it goes on Draymond Green. Well, Mike has specialized over the years in being able to get defenders committed. Nicely done. Two shot. [Applause] The first one falls. Mike Conley probably one of the most respected players in the league and I don’t see this guy stopping anytime soon. He brings great effort every single night. plays with a team-minded selflessness is a big shot maker. This guy has had such a solid probably underrated career. Both good from the line that time and done a much better job from the line this had. They’ve gotten that percentage up over 80 for the game. Outside Green heel and gets it to him. outside. Curry three-pointer hangs home the trifecta. Curry’s got 31. And and he’s really been dialed in here down the stretch. Five of seven from the field. Edwards passes to McDaniels. Here’s Connley. Three-pointer. Randalls in there. Connley with the assist. Conley has got assist number seven for him tonight. The ball movement on this run has been fantastic. It’s a big hard drive they’ve been able to get. He’s good. Now here’s Curry. Fires away from way outside. Go with the rebound. Go 11 rebounds in the game. Edwards a screen on Kirk. Conley finds Randall. Here is Edwards. He’s defended by Pajkki. Three-pointer Randles. The Warriors pull it in. Curry’s got four rebounds in this game. And it’s Pajki in the corner. Outside. Curry fires the three, sinks the three-pointer. Curry’s got 34. Well, they’re not behind because of this guy. He is putting on a tremendous run. I see him. I see him. Randall dishes to Edwards and play stops whistling on what looks to be an illegal screen. I don’t know if he’s just forcing things, but after one miscue in the first half, he’s been a mistake waiting to happen since the Warriors have gone through the fourth quarter shooting 50%, seven of 14. On the wing, Green to the paint to tie it up. shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. Michael Connley picks one up. Well, Curry, despite his frame, is able to do a ton of damage inside the paint. He can draw fouls with great regularity. Take a break. Take a break. Two [Applause] shots. Makes it. And the next one could tie it up. And no matter what, one of the big positives they can take away from this game is how well they performed at the line. [Applause] And it’s tied up with that one. And not a single free throw attempt in that first half, but he has been far more active since the break. They’ve drawn some fouls over in the corner. Edwards and finished off by Edwards. Anthony Edwards relishes big time moments and he delivers right there. Nice job capturing the moments on the AT&T 5G slam cam. The Warriors shooting a well here in the fourth quarter. 50%. Here’s Pensky. Edwards defended and the Warriors miss again. He couldn’t believe how open he was. He just couldn’t convert it. Here’s Connley off with the layup. I’ll tell you, he’s trying to help them extend this lead, but it’s been a tough night for him individually. He’ll catch the curry and again for three and he is supporting hot right now. He could be on his way to setting a franchise postseason record with his shooting. He’s caught fire at the right time for this team. Stepped up big in the postseason for him. Well, they’ll be happy with that look even though it didn’t fall. I think expect them to go back to it because that’s the kind of shot this offense is designed to generate. That one drops for him. One of the best ever at embracing big moments. Steph up to the challenge. Randle [Applause] outside to go. Here’s McDaniels. Knocks down the three ball. McDaniels got the game time up here for the Timberwolves. That’s one of those clutch shots he’s known for. When the pressure is high, he seems to be the most locked in. Hurry from deep three-point range trying to come right back with a three of his own. It’s no good. Conley up top guarded by the pass to Edwards. Edwards on the bounce right through the knee for the lay. Edwards got 14 points now in the second half. I think his teammates understand that Anthony Edwards has every aspect of his offensive game working. So, let’s make sure he’s got the basketball. Here’s Curry. No good that time. No bear with the defensive effort. Edwards with it and Curry picks him up defensively. Conley shot is off. Warriors shooting 43% from the floor. In the corner, it’s gets the three-pointer to fall and the Warriors lead by one. Just a massive bucket by Buddy Heel, the guy who has never been afraid of these moments. Conley for three. Warriors with the rebound. [Applause] The bounce pass. They kick out to he good. You know, you just love seeing a player with absolutely no fear. To me, more often than not, when you attack, good things happen. And so, Chris Finch calls for the timeout. Pivotal moment in this game. He’s not taking any chances. He’ll call time. And let’s get your take, guys. What’s the strategy? And usually you want to go for the two for one here to maximize the clock. [Applause] [Applause] 30 seconds left in the fourth and we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. No doubt he is feeling the importance of this moment right now. [Applause] 29 seconds left to play here in the fourth. The Timberwolves again can’t hit. They came close there to tying it up. Oh, he had it in his sights. He wanted it. That bucket would have been huge. 23 seconds left in the game. And an intentional foul right there. And you know what? Smart foul. You got to try to extend the game. And he cannot get the first one to drop. Tough one to miss. And he does get the second one. And that gives them a four-point cushion. Sports the Timberwolves. Now they got to take the first good shot they can find. And they’ve got to be efficient with the clock. Quick score, quick foul. Randall from outside and it’s Curry with the rebound. And an intentional foul there. Stops the clock. No choice but to foul there, but but he’s probably the last guy you want to see on the line. First free throw is good and that puts them up by five. [Applause] Second one is good. Getting both at the line and it’s a six-point ball game. Well, what a performer this guy is. Game is on the line. He stands up and delivers. Connects from downtown. Coming off a big game. His confidence couldn’t be higher and coach knows it. Well, the best players to me deliver night after night after night. So, as long as he’s hot, keep riding it. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. The magnitude at this juncture in the game clearly warranting a timeout. [Applause] And the whistle blows is going to be on Michael Con. And so he’s picked up his final foul and he will sit for the rest of this game. And luckily they’ve got terrific depth at that position. If there’s one spot on the floor where they can afford to lose somebody, that would probably be it. He hits the first one and that gives them a four-point [Applause] [Music] cushion. And so he drops them both. It’s a five-point game. [Applause]
