Steve Kerr DROPPED THE BALL – Kendrick Perkins after Rockets force GAME 7 vs. Warriors | SC with SVP

Kendrick Perkins standing by. And Perk, you just heard the conversation with Fred Vanble Vleet. I have such an appreciation for that young man going back to the Witchah State days. Famously has the draft party. He doesn’t get picked and said, “We’re good. I’ll be all right.” And man, he’s been a great pro wherever he’s been. He was spectacular tonight. Has been these last three. What have you seen from him? Well, you see you see we’re witnessing that championship leadership, Scott, all across the board in a in a game like uh tonight. You have a young Rockets team going on the road and all of a sudden Fred, the floor general, the leader sets the tone all across the board. Third game straight with 25 plus or more, but he’s doing it and getting it done in all ways, right? We see the assists. We see the rebounds. But we also see him keeping his composure, which is rubbing off on the rest of the young guys to stay engaged and stay true to their identity. That’s the to the identity and that’s the defensive side of things. Scott, tonight the Warriors were horrible defensively because of the culture and the defensive intensity that the Rockets came out with, which was a huge win, man. A huge win all across the board. Great minutes from Thompson. Great minutes from uh Dylan Brooks, but Stephen Adams was a force all across the board. Him and Shangon was punking them in the paint. I don’t know if they have I don’t know if Golden State have an answer for it. And shout out to Eay Udoka for staying true to himself and playing that double big lineup. It was a beautiful thing to see. I have to imagine given who you were, your identity in this league, you know, bringing that lunchbox and getting in the in the paint and doing all the dirty work. I mean, Adams, you heard Fred raving about what he brought. That’s a season highend minutes. You said it, Perk. I don’t know what answer Golden State invents between now and Sunday night for the Shangun Adams double big lineup. I What do you do? Pray. And look, I’m gonna take Hey, always every Scott, I’m gonna take a little credit here now. I actually raised Stephen Adams as a rookie in Oklahoma City. But do you think Stephen Adams is worried about physicality? No. You know what Stephen You know what Stephen Adams uh you know what he does in the off season? He go back to New Zealand and he go hunting for wild hogs with no shoes, no socks on. This is nothing to him. You think he’s scared to stepping up to the free throw line and making some shots, but man, just them being a force on the offensive glass and Shane Goon, I can’t say enough about him. I call him baby Jokic filling up the stat sheet all across the board. Draymond Green, the defensive, former defensive player of the year, a guy that was up for it this year. He needs to show up and show out and do something because right now he’s not helping Jimmy or Steph or the Golden State Warriors. And I maybe in my opinion Steve Kerr may have dropped the ball a little bit by losing Jonathan Kaminga by not playing them in the playin tournament and not playing them in this series because his athleticism and size is needed right now. That’s interesting. I wonder if you could just try to just turn that light on for game seven. It’s a little too seems like it’s too late for this particular series and and I don’t know if it’s too late for Golden State Perk and I mean I would never just dismiss who they have and what they’ve done as a group but you look at that game five perk right where Houston jumps them early up like 40 something to 24 in the first quarter and and at that point if you’re Golden State you knew you had game six in your back pocket we can go home we can get that well now they don’t have that now they they’ve got to rally and I don’t know how I don’t know how they do it this This this feels like a Houston team that’s about to punch a ticket to make it to the semis. Do you see the same thing? I I I’m feeling the same energy as you, Scott. And you’re right, that game five, what it did was it gave the Rockets confidence, especially the young fellas. You got to think, you know, Tory E, he wasn’t shooting the ball well. Uh Thompson twin wasn’t shooting the ball well. All of a sudden in game five, they start knocking down shots. they start getting their swag and all of a sudden they’re comfortable coming into your house which we saw this uh tonight like they’re like hold on so we could attack y’all and y’all not going to impose y will and not bring the physicality. I just I just don’t know what else Golden State could do. Maybe Steve Kerr make a adjustment and try to bring in a old vet, a champion in Kavon Looney and I don’t even know if that’s going to cut the mustard at this point. You got to give Houston the credit that they earned. It’s a they it’s a two-point game in the fourth quarter in a building that can be great. And man, it was dead quiet those last five or six minutes because Van Vleet, Adam, Shangon, that whole group led by Udoka setting the tone. I’m with you, Perk. This is a not stunning is not the right word because this is a two seed for a reason. Uh but I don’t think a lot of people saw this one coming. I appreciate you, Perk. We’ll uh we’ll carry on next week with whoever comes out of this one. Okay. All right. Thanks, Scott. Appreciate you. I I appreciate you as well. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. Whole time we have a young future All Star in Kuminga sitting on the bench cause Kerr don’t know how to coach/utilize him 🤦🏽‍♂️

  2. Warriors fans sing it with me!
“I’m locked up! THEY WON’T LET ME OUTTT. Locked up! THEY WON’T LET ME OUTTT🗣️🎶”
    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
    🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

  3. Warriors gotta decide if they wanna keep fielding a team of geriatrics or they're going to enter the new era next season.

Stephen Curry gotta decide if he wants to become a laughing stock like LeBron or whether he's going to bow out with his legacy intact. If he wants to keep challenging himself he should play overseas and get respect that way.

  4. Perk a man who sincerely is as dumb as he looks if not more 😂 i heard he wanted to play LeBrons flute live on air but espn thought it would be too polarizing for audiences

  5. Steph Curry is so overrated.. dude cannot handle defense or physicality at all. He’s choking at another 3-1 lead WITH Jimmy Butler

  6. Kerr is being out coached, plain and simple. Not playing your bigs and leaving JK on sideline – terrible decision. Doesn't make adjustments. He should be done coaching this team.

  7. I’m glad Ime didn’t take Adam’s out when they started hacking him like he did earlier in the series I feel like that made a big difference

  8. warriors got punked big time. the rockets twin towers is a menace and a nightmare any teams they face using foresight. nighty night warriors & their fan base. draymond green needs to retire.

  9. Now that we got rid of Luka, the only team I'm really worried about stopping the Wolves are the Rockets so I'm rooting for the Warriors in game 7.

  10. Steve Kerr is not that great of a coach in my opinion. The fact that you have that much pride to leave Kaminga on the bench for no said reason is just stupid

  11. Steve Kerr is making the same exact mistakes JJ Redick made. He's going small against a much larger team, he's thinking of offense only, he's overplaying older players, and he doesn't trust his bench. It's nasty work that Jonathan Kuminga has 4 DNP's and one game with 2 minutes of garbage time. Kuminga brings size, youth, and athleticism. It's crazy that Braxton Key and Kevin Know (G League talent) have played more than Kuminga.

  12. Kerr should be fired for his midget rotations. In game 5 he started three guards. For game 6 he subbed out Podz for GP2, another midget. Midgets instead of TJD, Santos, Kuminga? What is Kerr trying to prove? That he's playing chess while other coaches play checkers? That may have been the case ten years ago, but the NBA has passed Kerr by. Curry is obviously at the end of his career. His constant turnovers are a continual 15 year problem, but now there's not enough talent on the team anymore to overcome the turnovers. Curry was horrible in the first half last night.

  13. Steve Kerr is not a good coach. He has never been a good coach. He just always had such an overpowered roster when he won the title with Steph going crazy to lead them to wins. No matter if they win or lose, Kerr did not help them win

  14. Empty the bench coach. There is no reason TDJ and JK can’t split some minutes with Buddy, GP2, Loon and Podz.
We are getting cooked. We need size and athleticism.
Do you know how much damage this would do to Curry’s legacy if he has 2 blown 3-1 playoff series?
Get it together man or it’s time for new leadership.

  15. Steve Kerr is like a democrat politician—he talks a good game, says all the right things publicly, but his actual decisions and policies end up hurting the team he's supposed to be leading.

  16. The Warriors never had enough for this deep Rockets team! The Rockets with their smothering defense has dominated the Warriors. The double bigs were dominating in the regular season. When Ime took Adams out of game 4, I said bad decision. Rockets would have won in 6. Steph & Butler paying 40 minutes is too much. Their lack of depth is telling.☹️

  17. Udoka found a way too slow the Golden State Warriors down including Steph Curry he is stating someone is trying to hurt his injury play the game like you usually do when you're winning losing it's part of the game go Houston
