“Kyrie, good to see you. Too bad we aren’t teammates anymore,” Kyrie began, but LeBron cut him off.

“That’s not important right now. You have to focus on HIM,” LeBron said urgently.

“Who?” Kyrie asked.

“Edwards,” LeBron replied. “Jordan won at 28 years old. I won at 28 years old. Ant is only 22. He can’t win yet.”

“Kobe won at—” Kyrie started.

“Doesn’t count, he had Shaq,” LeBron interrupted.

“But it’s Kobe,” Kyrie insisted.

“Listen, it doesn’t matter. I can’t have him getting to the finals yet,” LeBron said firmly.

Kyrie nodded slowly. “The game is changing, Bron. Luka is only 25. All the stars are young now.”

“Not all of them,” LeBron said with a nod. It began to sink in for Kyrie.

“That’s right. Finals MVP,” LeBron added.

Kyrie imagined himself holding the Finals MVP trophy. LeBron’s voice brought him back to reality. “And I brought backup,” LeBron said.

As the game began, Kyrie called for substitutions. “Subs! We got subs,” he shouted.

Luka Dončić looked confused. “Ky, the game just started. We don’t need subs yet.”

The announcer’s voice boomed, “Now checking in for the Dallas Mavericks, JeBron Shames and Canthony Bavis!”

LeBron and Anthony Davis, in poor disguises, checked into the game. Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves protested.

“Ref! They can’t do that. That’s a violation!” Edwards yelled.

Edwards grinned. “Hey, bring it on. I want all the smoke,” he said, howling like a wolf. The rest of the Timberwolves joined in.

After the chaos on the court, LeBron walked off. The referee stopped him. “Don’t worry, Bron. We’re safe.”

LeBron turned, confused at first, then recognized the referee. It was Michael Jordan, wearing a bad wig. He lifted the wig and winked.

“Oh, Michael, it’s you!” LeBron exclaimed. “Good to see that you take this situation here personally!”
