The biggest asset the Rockets have is their draft picks. They haven’t missed on any picks the last 4-5 years. They had a little bad luck and never got the #1 pick. Otherwise, they’d have Cade, Chet, or Banchero. Develop and let the team grow for 2-3 more years, then make a trade when the team is 24-26 yrs old and ready to win

It was easy to deduce that Jalen was not ready for the playoffs, he was inconsistent all season and was never good against teams with good defense, knowing this Ime still preferred him over Cam who is a better player with more height and physicality, in conclusion Jalen is still a skinny and immature kid without enough physicality for the playoffs therefore the one to blame for Jalen ruining the team is Ime and the one to blame for the loss of game 7 is Sengun for not sharing the ball

Curry started torching the league in 2015. That was when he turned 27 which is when most nba players enter their prime. Jordan didn't win a championship until 28.
Even though ant has been in the league a season longer I compared ant and jalen from rookie season to year 4. Statistically they both had the same progression year to year and in year 4 they both had 21 ppg, 3 assists and 5 rebounds. I will compare him to ant again since they are both very young SG. Jalen came into the league with no coach and a horrible team while ant came in with an actual coach and a much more complete team even though the wolves were bad in the 2020 – 2021 season. Also jalen doesn't have the ball in his hands 24/7 to develop as an initiator and closer because the team is so talented with 9 people on the team that have the ability to score 30+ as well as the team ime udoka included preaching communal ball instead establishing an order of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd options.
I would keep him because he clearly has the potential and as a young guy you can't get any worse only better. He has good defense and rebounds well for a sg while also drawing so much attention on offense that allows his teamates space to be comfortable to go to work. I would rather have all this young talent reach their primes and dominate for more than a decade than gut your roster for a chance to win the nba championship now for a few years than fade into mediocrity or rebuild when morale tanks or players want out bc it didn't work out. Giving up the future is pretty much what they will have to do to get a superstar like KD, giannis or booker, and if its not someone of that level might as well not trade the core anyways because they can't elevate the team to real contenders either.
When MJ first entered the league NOBODY thought he would be the goat. When people compared kobe to jordan people would doubt because they automatically assume young player never have all time player potential and/or that the player will never unlock their full potential. Another thing is they themselves cannot see the similarities in physical attributes or playstyle a young kobe had to a young jordan and jalen does have many similarities to them. A player may reach his full potential or may not but one thing for certain is young players will get better with time. Imagine if the GM and upper management listened to their fans and the media telling them to trade tatum and brown and blow up the team.
Lastly like I said earlier you will have to give up A LOT to get a superstar good enough to put the team into contention immediately. The team giving the star is not stupid either, but just like what we have seen with the suns this season, you need a good number of solid pieces around the stars and they also have to fit and compliment the stars playstyle or else it will be a disaster.
The team is so young and so talented. To break up the core will be bad for chemistry and lead to mediocrity or a rebuild after a few years. Houston fans as well as media better not complain when the team gets to that point or others begin to shine and dominate on other teams
This reminds me of the ad trade which casuals actually thought would lead the lakers to a chip but now laker fans regret giving away ad after getting sent home round 1. He is old though what it really remind me of is Brunson, SGA, and Harden being traded when they were young because the team never let them be themselves or develop properly and they went on to dominate the league and make history. Of course, Jalen will be better than those guys. Not only has he already tied or broken history a good amount times from his rookie season to his 4th season, he is the quickest and one of the most explosive guys in the NBA. He will also be better offensively and defensively and I will explain why in this final paragraph.
Young shooting gaurds often struggle with consistency but he will get that down with time and become an elite 3 level scorer. will make his make his teamates better because of his dribble moves and quickness he can break down defenders and drive which make the defense collapse on him giving the team easy shots. Just his presence on the court standing anywhere already draws a lot of attention. He is already a really good defender. Not only did he pass the eye test but statistically he was one of the best SG in the league on defense and he is a good rebounder. These 2 things will improve as he gets in the gym and gets stronger. All in all, many great have struggled in the playoffs when they were young and they have learned from it and got better just like jalen will. rockets should not trade jalen.
Keeping Sengun and Amen, and trading Jalen does not necessarily mean blowing things up or ‘rebuilding’ for Rockets. It just means trimming the fat to be honest. That being said, I would not trade Jalen away now as his trade value is at an all time low, but I would decrease his role as an offensive initiator. Have the team benefit more from Sengun’s gravity, then reevaluate his status.

KD had a loaded team and missed playoffs. He is not going to help Houston. Houston need to keep this young core, and give them one more season. If they still get stuck next year, first round of playoffs, then you can think about trading some players.
The Rockets lost to Steph who is on a historical quest for Mt Rushmore. There is no shame in that. The Rockets need to run it back one more season, give them a chance to show growth in the off season. If it doesn't work maybe in 2 years you can trade them, but give them a second chance in playoffs.
