Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves GAME 2 LIVE | May 8, 2025 | NBA PLAYOFFS 2025 | 2K25

on the court for Golden State here in the fourth. Some kind of shooting in the back court for gets Curry in heel. Booty is out there. It’s coming and it’s posted to center position. A shot by Curry. No good. You know, defensively, you just can’t afford to give him that much room. They’re fortunate that he missed that one. Even Jenzo finds Clark [Music] and foul on the shot. So, he’ll get a chance at the line. I mean, even from over here, you can see that one pretty clearly. No question about it. I mean, a ton of contact and a good call by the officials. Get it. Big and he makes the first [Applause] And so Clark nails both of them. And here’s Heield. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Pass to Curry. Fires the three. Curry from three. It looks easy, effortless. Curry natural from long range. Here’s Alexander Walker defended by Moody. A shot by Alexander Walker. No good. You know, even though they’re on top in this one, you’d like him to be better out there because he’s capable of being better. Sure would make things a lot easier, too. Now, here’s He is inside and trying for the go-ahehead basket. It doesn’t go in and they haven’t been able to turn it into a big lead, but their rebounding advantage is starting to add up. Yeah, still close, but with their tough play on the board, we’re certainly seeing the effort. Reed gets the bucket. Three-point shooting since the half has been about as good as you could ask for. And now’s the time for them to step on the gas pedal. Don’t let up. Keep letting it fly from deep and build that lead. play through the finish line, not to it. Keep the pressure on and give it up for Steph Curry. This guy seemingly never has an off night. One of the all-time greats. Timberwolves have gone one of three from the field to start the fourth quarter. Pass to Edwards. The train. The rebound by Post. Post has got his fifth rebound in this [Applause] one. Moody. The pass to [Applause] Heel to the inside. Stolen by Reed. For those just joining us, fourth quarter here. We’re just over two and a half minutes into it. Even Jenzo kicks to Edwards. Reed with a screen on heel near the three-point line. It’s Edwards. Nice jump shot from the top of the key. Edwards got 13 points in the second half. And let’s give or take guys and hustle stats for the Timber. They have been a wrecky ball defensively coming up with steals, being active with their hands, and just doing a terrific job of disrupting the rhythm. They’re very fresh, but also at the defensive end. How about the way they’ve been able to deny shot opportunities, just tearing the opposition up in terms of denial. And the Timberwolves from possession here, the Warriors making the shot. Greed gets the bucket. And defensively, these guys are looking for answers since halftime. They’ve seen disjointed and out of sync. They have got to get back that rhythm defensively. Look at the clock. A little under three and a half minutes gone here in the fourth. Pass to Moody. Here’s Mo. Here’s Heel. Edwards defending. Here’s Curry with the three. A rebound by the Timberwolves. Reeds got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Curry against Devenzo. Here’s Edwards. A beautiful finish inside by Anthony and and offensively they seem to have turned a corner. Yeah, I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but a much better half since they changed hoops. They’re really looking strong here. Warriors trail by six. And here is Curry pass to [Applause] Kaminga and a lot of contact on that one. So he’ll shoot two here. [Music] [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two [Applause] shot. That free throw good from Kaminga. This is as good as it gets from the charity strike here in the second. Yeah. You know what? And I think they’ve just got to keep on keeping on keep drawing contact, attacking, getting to the line. That will certainly give them a chance to get back into the game. Michael Conley, he’s checked in for Nquille and Lander Walker. So one for two that time with the strike driving. It’s Edwards and Moody pulls it down. You know, even though they have the lead, you can tell he’s frustrated with himself that he’s not doing more. outside Ciringa. Here’s Bo. Six on the shot clock. Here’s Mooney. That one wide left. Not really necessary with nobody on you. I mean, why put yourself off balance on that shot when you’re wide open? Conley gets the bucket. Conley so crafty with that left hand of his. The veteran knows his way around the hoop. Warriors trail by seven. Moody with it. Here is post to the paint and he stops it with one of set him up. Strong move to the 10 trying to get his guys going. Hard not to get motivated GA right when your teammate makes that kind of play. Yeah, you know, when you’re looking to close the gap, you need guys who will take it upon themselves to step up, take the initiative and make something happen. Oh, here is Edwards down low and that one falls coming off Conley’s feet. Conley’s got his eighth assist here tonight. Moving it around. eight of their last 10 coming off assists. You know, nothing makes a coach happier than selflessness on the basketball court. PJsky with it. Defended by Devenzo. Back to [Applause] Pajki. Cast to [Applause] Moody Green with the block. Great. Denial by Reed. Boundless energy he brings. Rudy Goar is checked in for the Timberwolves. Julius Randle comes in for Clark. Raymond Green. He’s checked in for Golden State. Jimmy Butler comes in for Kaminga. Timberwolves lead by [Applause] seven. Now Connley Gobear with a screen for Edwards. It’s stolen by Green. Pass to Butler. by Butler finishing at the other end. And you know when Butler’s hot, keep getting him the rock. It’s that simple. It’s not complicated. Now here’s Steven outside. Connley. Now here’s Devenenzo. Guarded close out to Edwards. Connects from three-point range. Edwards got nine points now on the court and you can just see the different players since coming back from that [Applause] time. Now here’s Moody Edwards defending down to five on the shot clock on its way from three for two. They get it back. VJsky with it outside Butler from D Jimmy Butler. This is someone that can really hurt you from long range. He did that to a degree in the first half and he’s doing it now. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. Wants to make sure everybody’s coordinated and intent. [Music] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] and the Timberwolves making a change here. Nick Daniels checked in and Golden State also making a change. Payton’s checked in. It’s time now to hear from our Hall of Fame reporter David Aldridge. Watch the latest, David. I was able to listen in on what Chris Finch told the team. Now, he told his guys not to get comfortable. He said, “So, we’ve got a little breathing room.” So what? That’s no reason to slow down out there. He wants them to keep the effort up, guys. All right. Thank you, David. McDaniel sets a screen for Edwards and he converts the layup. You know, you give Edwards credit for making the right decision there, feeding his teammate. Smart, good basketball. Warriors trail by seven. pass to Pajinski. Bait. Oh, no. Stopping Bucker that time. And you know what? He’s really been one of the few bright spots for them trying to will this team to victory. And so it’s Randall bringing it up now for the Minnesota Timberwolves as to Edwards. Shoots over Pompeki. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Curry’s got five rebounds tonight. Butler with the ball. Connley picks him up and it’s Butler missing. Timberwolves leading by five outside. Connley. Oh, here is Edwards. He’s defended by Pajki. Oh, what a physical score from Edwards. Boy, has he put his foot on the pedal here this quarter. He’s doing a terrific job in terms of leading their offense. Here’s Curry 11 ft out and he hits it. Curry’s got 12 points in just the second half. Curry is a guy you can trust to get it done when it needs to be done. Randall surveying the D. The 10-footer that shot off some solid defense from Butler. And up the court come the Warriors on the bridge. And but relishes this. I mean, he feels really comfortable going right at the defense at crucial points in the game. Minnesota in the lead. And here is Kylie to the inside. Go and finish off by Go. Go calling for the ball in moments like these. Big time games under his belt. Golden State’s gotten off four three-pointers in the final quarter and two of them have fall. Here’s Curry and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. Michael Connley picks one up. Oh, the dishes are all over that one. Clearly a foul. I mean, didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle. I mean, you got to play without fouling. Shooting two. The free throw dropped for Kur and it’s been an outstanding game for them at the free throw line. not missing their chances when they get them. [Applause] Good on both. He’s basically automatic from the line. Not the guy you want to send there now. Outside Connley to the middle. There’s Goar and again it’s Minnesota converting. What a move by Going that open space and kick and roll. Warriors trail by five. Here’s Curry. Here’s the three. Julius Randle with the rebound. You know, ill advised threes isn’t how you want to close the gap. You got to have better shots. Finally against P inside Butler with the steel and even threeon-ree [Music] break and it’s Green missing and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that position. Two points. That one goes. Well, you love to see Ever shine on offense like this. I know it’s got to be making his coach happy, too. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Crew. He knows every possession is critical [Applause] now. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Butler dishes to Green. Butler kicks to Payton. in front. Oh, and that cuts the lead to just five. Fearless Curry takes him on the challenge and gets that big basket to fall. Here is Edwards. 58 seconds left in the fourth [Applause] quarter. Edwards with a tough shot. I mean, he is tearing the defense apart. And let’s face it, they have not brought their aame on that side of the ball. It was the exact same kind of offensive showcase for him in their last game, too. When it happens this often, that’s not a pattern. That’s characteristic. Got it. Oh, and that cuts the lead to just five. Stronger than he looks. Curry able to take the hit there and finish. There’s 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter and he commits the intentional [Applause] foul. So it’s the Timberwolves now. Randle from outside. It’s rebounded by Payton. And here’s Payton. He’ll bring it up for Golden State to the paint. And Butler just excellent at finding ways to get to the strike, especially when he’s near the basket. First free throw is good. And that shrinks the margin to just [Applause] four. And so Butler nails both of them. Fruitful trip to the line there. He’s made this a onep possession game. Now they can more or less wrap it up right here. This has to be a very smart possession. The shot game clock separated by four. Here’s Edwards. Good. Relentless in their approach even with the game firmly in hand. And you know, until that final buzzer sounds, I mean, you’ve got to treat every possession like it’s crucial. Timeout called the Warriors. There’s 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Any ideas on strategy being discussed right now in that huddle trying to stay alive. They’ve got to work quickly. Yeah, they’re going to draw up a play here, I think, to get a shot right off of the inbounds pass to not waste too much time at all. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] There’s 10 seconds left to play in the final quarter on baseline. Jay. Yes. And obviously his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight. And you know that’s how it goes with him. These hot streaks, guys, don’t last minutes, they last days. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. This is a huge moment, folks, in this game. And he wants to be prepared. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. 5 seconds left in the fourth and so they choose to intentionally foul. Had to foul and on that occasion to stop the clock. That’s the enemy in this situation. And you know what? You know, a few misses at the strike and they’re right there within range. You know, late game free throws are a lot different than early game free throws in terms of making He hits the first one and that gives them a four-point push. Second one is good both at the line and it’s a five-point game. Good composure from the line there. Those shots sealed. And so Minnesota takes the win. Just a massive victory, Greg. Maybe it’s overstating it, but I think this was a game they had to have. And I don’t think it’s overstating it. I agree. I mean, going down 200 would have given this team a huge hill to climb. But now at one game a piece and with some momentum, this is anybody’s series. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by Courtzside. David, thanks very much Rudy. This is a defense first team. You picked it up in the second half. What changes did you make at the half? I feel like we weren’t focused in the first half defensively and uh we just have to come back and communicate and just be focused, you know, and that’s what we did. Attention to detail, Rudy. Thanks. Back to you, Kevin. RIDA, thanks again. Well, that’ll do it, folks. Glad you could join us for the Western Conference semifinals. for Greg Anthony, Clark Kellogg, and David Aldridge. This is Kevin Harland. Thanks for watching the NBA on 2K Sports. But as we go, let’s take a look at our player of the game, Anthony Edwards.
