NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves | May 8, 2025 | Game 2 NBA Playoffs Live
Heat. Heat. Got some great guards going headtohead in this one. Brent, what will you keep your eye on in that matchup? Well, Kevin, you’re pointing out the guard play. So, this is when they have a chance to go one-on-one. which of these tandemss can stand out against the other. Tons of pick and roll, tons of creativity, and we’ll see which of these guys can pair off tonight to win this contest. Now, Golden State’s starting five. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pachki. Jimmy Butler is out there with Moody. And it’s Green in at center. Now, here’s Randall outside. Edwards. Shot clock at six. The Warriors pull it in. Green in the post. Defended by Goar. And it’s Connley with the ball for the Minnesota Timberwolves. And the rejection by Curry. And he recovers it. Connley finds Edwards. And here is McDaniel. Defended by Moody. Back to Edwards. Makes a big height pass. And it’s really good to see Edwards knock down the mid-range jumper. He continues to work on becoming more consistent from that area. It’s stolen by Randall. Oh, here comes Connley. All alone. Yep, that one goes in there. Beautiful transition offense there. That’s execution at its best. Yeah, once you burst through a seam like that, you got to look right towards the rim. Sweet play. Now here’s Moody. Back to Curry. The kick outside to Butler. Five to shoot. Laid in with a nice touch off the glass. And Butler just taking that motion right through contact. for Minnesota. They’ve gone two for four from the field so far today. Connley dishes to Edwards. Goar with a screen for Edwards inside and finished off by Gobear. Just can make it so much easier for your teammate when you throw that lead pass that gets to him right on the money. Whether that’s on the run or in the shooting pocket. Now here’s Curry. pocket six takes the three, buries it from three-point range. It just doesn’t matter once Steph crosses half court. He’s in range. It seems likely that the Warriors title run under Steph Curry. Brent is probably come to a close. I’m not going to count Steph Curry out quite yet, Kevin, but you know, they have added some quality youngsters. They’re trying to grow that group. How fast can they bring those kids along to championship caliber players? That’s the big question. They’re going to win their share of games. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. This will give them a chance to discuss some potential alterations. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Green passes to Kirby. That’s his second shot and his second basket. He’s two for two. What a move by Curry. Has the ability to adjust in those tight spaces. Just finding a little bit of air, breathing it in and a nice finish. Now here’s Connley. Edwards second chance shot and it’s good on the way in. Edwards got seven. Working his way for a high percentage look. That’s just smart basketball, man. That’s a a painted possession right there. A masterpiece, especially when the defense is not a factor. Back to Curry. The three hits the three-pointer to fall. He’s got eight. It doesn’t matter if it’s off the bounce or off the catch. Curry never loses rhythm on his jump shot. Go Bear with a screen on Curry. And here’s Connley outside kept alive Minnesota. Just five on the clock. Here’s Goar and slam dunk by Gobear. And Gobear showing how much he wanted that basketball. He finds PJsky. Green with a screen on Edwards. Pass to Butler looking for Connley. He gets it there. Randall against Butler and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. And talented in so many ways. Edwards is focusing on two things. The refining of his shot mechanics and the sustained level of engagement. It’s his first trip to the line. The first one falls. Greg, this is some kind of note. Last year, Minnesota had for just the second time had ever won a series in the postseason. Yeah, they’ve been bounced in the first round, 10 of 12 appearances, but last year’s team was different. Their elite defense fueled the conference finals run. And Edwards drops them both. Since reaching five consecutive NBA finals, the Warriors have missed the playoffs three of the past five years. And to be fair, they did go 46 and 36 last season. They were 10 games over 500 last year. So, they weren’t a bad team, but Golden State doesn’t just expect to be in the playin. They want to be a contender. Now, here’s Randall following the miss by Draymond Green. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. And an important part of every team’s game, a look at the hustle stats for the Timberwolves. And they made a point of pounding the offensive boards, turning those rebounds into points. It’s been a great effort and they’ve sort of assumed control of this game with their pressure defensively. They’ve been into the ball handler. They’ve done a great job of swarming. So, they’re creating some turnovers that they’re capitalizing on. First one falls for and the Warriors making a change here. Peyton’s checked in. and McDaniels drops them both. Makes it pretty tough on the defense. Who you going to pick to send to the free throw line and he’s hitting the free throws right now. Form looks good. Outside Butler outside Baiton pass to Butler. Here’s Curry. Fires the three and rebounded by McDaniels. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall. Now here’s Randall. Back to McDaniel. Go Bear with a screen for McDaniel. Off target there. That would have pushed the lead to double digits. to the middle. Here’s Green. It’s good. And it’s Payton with the assist. Draymond’s energy. Guess what? It’s here. It’s in the game right now. And he’s attacking. Timberwolves leading by five. Now here’s Connley. Randle outside. Pass to McDaniels. Randle surveying the D. Five on the clock. Here’s Edwards. Drilled from 11 ft out. Edwards got 11. Man, that’s what they’re looking for from Edwards. Scoring from all areas of the court, even mid-range keeps the defense honest. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Curry kicks the butt. Connley against Curry. Green with a screen on Con. Curry outside with the rebound. No one near Connley as he lets it go. The quick look no good that time. Warriors trail by seven. And now the latest from our reporter David Ald. Thanks. I caught up with Chris Finch. Now I asked him about the challenge they face as defending Steph Curry. Since Steph is so hard to contain because of his constant movement off the ball, conventional defenses won’t work against him. The matchups will be fluid. He’ll see a lot of different guys coming at him. He’s looking and needing a total group effort. Back to you guys. Okay, David. Thanks. And it’s Curry with the ball bringing it up for the Warriors. Butler on the way from outside the ark and the Warriors miss again. Timberwolves leading by seven and Jimmy Butler puts together Brent one of the alltime playoff runs leading the Heat to the finals in 2023. You don’t want to live in or dwell on the past, but man, Miami being the eight seed that year, Kevin, and with Jimmy putting up 38 a game in that first round against the Bucks, guy earned the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals. What a run. Out of bounds, the Warriors able to retain possession here. And now, let’s take a look again at that incredible rejection. Quick thinking pays off big. What a block from Alexander Walker. He’s checked in for the Timberwolves on a heel. He’s checked in for the Warriors. And the Warriors with possession here, trailing by 10. Still the strongest part of Buddy Heels’s game. He is a lethal shooter. What a perfect stroke that was. Alexander Walker passes to Randall. His second shot goes in. Off to a good start. Two for two. I mean, the number of points they’ve scored in the paint already here is eye opening. Outside Green against McDaniel. Now here’s Butler guarded closer. They kick it out to Green. Go with a block. And when Go is playing with this kind of aggression on that end, there aren’t many better at defending. And some changes here for the Timberwolves. Nas Reed, he’s checked in for Go. Clark comes in for McDaniels. And it’s Dante Denenso in for Mike Conley. Trace Jackson Davis is checked in for the Warriors. Jonathan Kaminga comes in for Brandon Pajki. Here’s Kaminga. Just four to shoot. Here’s healed. Minnesota with the rebound. And here is Steven Genzo. Back to Randall over Payton. Randle. No good. Warriors trail by nine. Get out. on the wing heel defended by Dvenenzo and the call will be against Julius Randle. That is his first foul of the game. I mean that’s a tough break for the D. I mean he took the hit and drew the whistle. And that replay showed just how forceful that block was. And a block like that sends a message. One that says we’re not giving up this lead. Timberwolves on defense. Left side. Kinga down to five on the shot clock. Here’s Heel. That one falls. His second basket of the game. He’s now two for three. Well, tricky there on that play as Heel had the soft floater that trickled in. Stevenzo passes to Randall. Alexander Walker with the ball defended by Payton. Alexander Walker with the ball. Still yet to score over Pete. Nice shot by Alexander Walker. No good. Warriors trail by seven. Payton with the ball. Now defended by Randall. Here’s Butler. That’s in. Coming off an assist from Payton. Butler’s got his second basket of the game. Yeah, here’s a list of things I don’t want to do. right at the top. He’s guarded that guy Butler against Randle and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Butler’s got four rebounds in this game. Healed right side, passen Davis with it. And here is heel shoots over Alexander Walker. Heel can’t hit. Minnesota leading by five. Here’s Randall right here. 130 left in the first quarter of the game. Latin. It’s rebounded by Kaminga. I’m shocked that didn’t turn into three points. I mean, he makes you pay on those nearly every time he fires for three. They get it back. He dents the rim with a two-handed slam. Wow. That is a product of pure effort, guys. I agree. And that’s nothing new coming from MGA. He loves going to work on the rebounding, going to work on the boards. Stick with fundamentals there. Shot goes up, boxed out or he’ll destroy you. Here’s Randall. The Warriors making the shot and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. Ah, the overall game of Julius Randall is impressive. He’s pretty. He is in there giving it Brent his everything. Yeah, Kevin, you think about that year where he averaged 24, 10 rebounds, and six assists. I mean, the only other guys that did that were Will Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Larry Bird, Russell Westbrook, Joic, Giannis. All of those guys won MVPs. That’s a heck of a list. And the Timberwolves making a change here. Edwards has checked in. And the Warriors also making a change. Stephen Curry has checked in for Jimmy Butler. That one is no good. And here’s Kinga. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. Four-point game. Stolen by Reed. Edwards against Payton. from the line. That’s him. That’s his fifth field goal. He’s shooting a hot 71%. Five for seven. Outside Curry. 15 seconds left to play in the first quarter. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Here’s Kaminga from outside off the mark. And that concludes the first quarter of play. Timberwolves ahead up by six. After this break, we’ll be back with the start of the second quarter on 2K Sports. and hope you’ve enjoyed the broadcast so far. Halfway through the first half in this one. And what do you guys think about Minnesota here in this one? Hey, why take jump shots when you can get your points at the rim? Yeah, that worked wonders for them in the quarter. We’ll see what kind of adjustments get made. Warriors trail by six. So for the Golden State Warriors right now, some kind of shooting in the back court for him, it’s Curry and Heel. Kaminga out there with Trace Jackson Davis and it’s Payton in at the small forward position. Now Miller after the miss three from Bunny Heel. Even Jenza with the screen for Edwards. Three-pointer off the mark. The Warriors shooting under 40% all in all for the game. And Curry has it in the corner. Pass to Kaminga. Now here’s Payton. Shot clock at five. Down the tongue by Payton. Go into the rack with energy and the D afraid to cut him off. Yeah, got to chalk that one up to some shaky defending. There’s some ways to get your coach’s attention and that draws the coaching staff’s eye. And Minnesota has possession. The Warriors making the shot. Stevenzo passes to Reed and Reed throws it down. Deenzo being a connector out there now. Warriors trail by six, guys. They’re looking for a way to score here. Yeah, they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off. Bullseye. Curry with a deep free. And we’re now about a minute and a half into the second quarter. Minnesota with the ball. They’ve led by as much as 10. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David, thank you. Kevin Anthony Edwards is figuring things out. He said there’s levels. My first few years, I looked for my shot and nothing else. I’ve learned that I can’t win without my teammates and that I have to throw them the ball, too. It’s a team game. I know that now, Kevin. I know it, too. So, I’m throwing it back to you. And you’re the best teammate we could have. Thank you, David. Six to shoot. Out of bounds. Minnesota takes possession. I’m all for the crowd interacting with the players, but not so much the players interacting with the crowd. That one errant pass. And the Timberwolves making a change here. Checked in. Cavon Looney is checked in for Golden State. Timberwolves leading by five. Edwards inside, covered by Heel. And the officials calling for a 3second violation. And the Timberwolves making a change here. Ours has checked in. You know, a trend that’s been unmistakable, Greg, over the last few decades has been the number of positionless players. Yeah. And I think that’s a great thing, right? So many players now with diversity in their skill set, and there’s no need to commit a player to a certain role just based on their size. Now, Lender Walker passes to Edwards. Lets it go with the three. And the rebound goes to the Warriors and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. Heel kicks to Curry at the elbow. Payton back to Curry. Just five to shoot. Rebound by Alexander Walker. Timberwolves leading by five. Pass to Reed. Now here’s Devenzo guarded by Kirk. Kaminga against Reed. Nice defense from Kaminga. Well, a lot of players in the league are going to make that shot and for him it’s pretty much automatic. It’s a good defensive effort to prevent the layup. Curry against Devenzo. And just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. And here’s Edwards from the arc. Got it. Number seven on the night. Seven for 11 from the floor. And this is big for Edwards’s confidence wanting to keep hitting from downtown and stretching that defense. Now here’s Heel. Seven points in the game. Alexander Walker with the ball. Payton’s there. Very dangerous to leave a guy like that open. Lucky break there for the D. Kaminga. No good. Minnesota leading by six. Now Edwards, he’s got 18. the three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Kaminga got rebound number five here tonight. And it’s Curry at the elbow. Stolen by Reed. Here’s Alexander Walk. Still scoreless. Reed finds Edwards. from downtown. Edwards cashing in from outside. Good read by Edwards playing at his pace and carving out space for that shot. Curry wide open. The Warriors keep it going. A new 14-second shot clock. Out to Payton. There’s a screen. Healed outside. Shoots over Reed. Heel can’t hit. Minnesota leading by nine. Oh, here is Edwards. He’s got 21. Reed with a screen on P to the inside. It’s going by Heel. Now the Warriors moving it up. Moving it up. Here’s Looney. And that one is stuffed right through. Man, Looney is so long. Gets up there and flushes it. And here’s Edwards. Strong move inside by Edwards. And obviously his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight. Yeah, and the coach pretty smart for zoning in on him and giving him opportunities to stay with that confident play. Three-pointer Heel drills it from outside. He’s got five points now this quarter. Yeah, nice to see Buddy Heel. This is where he gets his bread and butter kind of plays. Sinking the deep triple. Edwards with it. Now guarded by Heield. Reed misses and it’s Curry with the ball bringing it up for Golden State. They trail by six. Healed outside. And out of bounds as the Timberwolves gain possession. Different look here for the Warriors. Raymond Green. He’s checked in for Looney. Butler comes in for Jonathan Kaminga. Moses Moody, he’s jugged in for Payton. And it’s Brandon Pajki in for Heel. So, it’s Minnesota now. They’ve led by as much as 10. It’s Edwards on the wing. Warriors with the rebound. Brent Draymond Green’s resume speaks for itself. What’s he do though that we may not see or appreciate? Well, Kevin, Draymond Green does such a great job of being a connector and communicator defensively. It it is remarkable the way that he can impact every position on the floor by the way he uses both his position and his voice. Forget about the offense. Draymond takes on the challenge every night defensively and that makes him elite. Now here’s Butler following the miss by Michael Connley. Here’s Pachki and they’re unable to get the time basket there. Randle gets to Connley. Randall down low working on Green. Green with the block. Green plays with tremendous edge on the defensive end of the floor. Randle. Well, it was only a matter of time and they finally get the bucket. Randle’s got eight. Man, that’s a lesson for the D. Fight harder on the glass. Yeah, you just can’t afford to give up second chance opportunities again and again. Here’s PMski. He has yet to score. Six on the shot clock from deep green with the block. on the pass to Edwards. Randle outside. That’s Go with a screen for Randall down low and slam dunk by Go. And the slam. If Rudy gets that ball anywhere near the rim, he is going to finish. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants a minute here to get things straightened out with his team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heels checked in for Stephen Fur. on the wing. Green defended by Goajki on the wing. He with a screen on confidence and the Warriors miss again. Minnesota leading by seven. Edwards passes. Now Connley gets stolen by Green. Veky with it. Scoreless thus far to the paint. Pass to Moody. Good. And it’s Green picking up the assist. How huge to have a big on the floor who can see the entirety of the court. The ball doesn’t stop with Draymond Green. Randall outside back to Conley and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up for Minnesota. They have shot a good percentage from the free throw line. So far they’ve made five out of six. First free throw is good. And so Mike Connley nails both of them. Probably as close to a sure thing as you can have at the free throw line. Outside Green. Here’s the screen. Here’s Heel. And the Warriors take on two more. I mean, this is what the scouting report called for here. Love how effective Heield is right now on the offensive end. Finally, the pass to Go. And here’s Randall. Rocket six. Count it. Randle’s got four this quarter. The lefty floater from Randall. A bit funky from the big man, but a nice soft touch there. Pass to Moody. Launches a three off the mark. His first miss of the game. One for two. Here’s Connley. The Warriors pull it in. and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that position. Well, he right there on the yield, waiting for someone to get open. Minnesota leading by four and we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. He’s going to have a discussion here on the sideline. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Dante Deenzo. He’s jumped in for Edwards. is demon. 56 seconds left now here in the second. McDaniels finds Randall and there’s the whistle. 3se second violation. You got to love strong defense, especially when it comes in the form of harsh rejections. Wow. And in a close game, blocks like that are so clutch. And that could be a real difference maker here tonight. Warriors trail by four. Now PMski. No scoring in this one. Butler. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. It’s going to be on Rudy Gobear. Butler gives you so much toughness and determination. This guy can really impact what the culture of your team is all about. Shoot two free throw. Good. Butler. Jimmy Butler just seems to raise his game come playoff time. Brent, it is a thing of beauty. It’s pretty awesome to see that kind of confidence where a guy just lays in the weeds for a little while and then in the biggest moments comes in and stands out. So that’s not always just about Jimmy Butler. It’s about his team having that kind of confidence in how he performs in the biggest moments. They can go two for one. It’s about being smart right now. Connley sets a screen for Debenzo. Good for the basket. Starting off one for one with that shot. Sometimes you run the twoman game, but nothing happens other than you having to make the play. Dante did it that time. The kick outside to Butler. And again, it’s the Warriors missing outside Connley. Here’s the three. Iman Green with the rebound. Pass to Heel. One second left. Anthony Edwards has been leading the charge for Minnesota. They’ve leaned on him for offense and he hasn’t let him down. He’s now up to 23 points today. And a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by Courtzside. David, thanks Kevin. Alongside Steve Kerr and coach, what is the offensive approach going to be in the second half? Well, we just have to do what we do. Move the ball and wear them down with our ball movement, our cutting, and our spacing and set better screens. All the all the usual stuff. Yeah, it always seems to work out for you in the long run. Thanks, Steve. Back to you, Kevin. Thank you, David. And we’ll be back after halftime as the third quarter gets underway. Heat. Heat. And as we get into this third quarter, as we’ve seen so far, neither team able to create much separation on the scoreboard yet. You know, Anthony Edwards has been exceptional here, guys. And guys, we saw just how tough he can be with the step to the rim. Great job of just attacking that first half. Yeah, nice job of carving his way to the inside with some ease. Not much resistance out there. Here’s Curry. Edwards on the wing. He’s joined by McDaniel. Rudy Gober is out there with Julius Randall. And it’s Connley in at the one spot. So that’s the lineup for Minnesota. Connects from three-point range. On the offensive end, Curry both prolific and efficient. Connley dishes to Randall. There’s the three. Pajinski grabs the board. The Warriors trailing. Green with the ball. Picked up by Edwards. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. And to me, Draymond Green really embodies the idea of a high IQ player. He can read the opposition, predict where a play is going, and those instincts aren’t something that can be easily taught to anyone. That free throw missing. And the fire that Draymond Green plays with, I think, is the most admirable quality. knows how to get himself and his teammates going throughout the course of a long grinding 82game season. That one drops. He ties it up. He’s shaking his head moment there. Had a chance to put them out in front, but at least they’re tied up. Connley against Curry. Go with a screen on Curry and slam dunk by Go. And Gobear is so well set up there. All he’s got to do is elevate above the D and take that one home. Now here’s Green pass to Butler. Green with a screen on him inside and Green with the basket on the assist by Butler. Green’s got the game tied up here for the Warriors. It’s a great move and he catches the defense completely off guard. Well, just ripping through right there as he he finds the open spot and gets right through there. High basketball IQ player. Randle is doubled. Five on the clock. Connley against Curry. Connley shot is off. The Warriors shooting 43% for the game. And there are the Warriors now with another bucket. This guy Jimmy Butler not showing that he’s a ball stopper. Awareness finds the open man. Timberwolves pixing it around. Connley scanning the floor. Pass to Randall. Nick Daniels with the ball. Taps in. Coming off an assist from Randall. Randle’s got his fourth assist in this one. Well, Randall when he has the ball in his hands aware that there might be an open teammate. That time he found him. Now here’s Green. Seven points in the game to the middle. Here’s Moody. Takes it into the teeth of the knee and converts the layup. Moody’s got seven points in the game. Really heads up there. A play where you locate the best open pass and then you get it there for an easy bucket. Back to Connley. And this is the right play by Connley. sticking with the motion and ensuring he gets to the line for Minnesota. They have been coming through at the charity. They’ve made seven of their eight attempts and typically a strength of theirs 79% on the season. Shooter two throw good. Hamlet. And so Mike Connley nails both of them. The Warriors have gone four for four from the field since the halftime break. Terrific start to the third quarter outside Butler. Frame the screen. Butler. Oh no. Stopping Butler that time. Jimmy B doing his work there. Challenging in the lane. Go with a screen for Connley to the inside and finished off by Go. This game has a lot of character here in the third period. Six changes of the lead here. Intensity is the theme for this pass to Butler on the attack. I mean, he’s just been brilliant today, guys. And it was the same exact story last time out. Connley left side back to Edwards. Connley against Curry. Go Bear with a screen on Curry. Shoots from the elbow out to Edwards. Tries again. Green for two points. 25 points for Anthony Edwards. It’s simple, guys. Keep getting Edwards the ball and just let it cook. Green with a screen for Curry down low. Rudy Goar with the rebound. Go Bear’s got rebound number five tonight. Got a piece of it. Butler with the steal. Stolen by Conley. Curry with the defensive effort. Warriors have gotten six of their seven shots to go down in this court. What a fantastic start to the hands and he’ll shoot free throws here. Clearly fouled on that shot that time, the whistleblower and an important part of every team’s game. A look at the hustle stats for the Timberwolves. And they’ve shown great focus on the defensive end, putting constant pressure on the ball and really disruptive in terms of what they’ve done defensively. And all game long they’ve been finding blocks. Their focus on strong rim protection has helped stifle the opposing team’s offense. And the first one drops So he gets them both and it’s Connley with the ball for Minnesota. Randle on side. Pass to McDaniels. Shot clock at six. Out to Edwards takes a three. Warriors with the rebound. Outside Butler. Curry outside. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Butler’s got five assists in the game. Bottom line, you need shooters on your team who can space the floor. Oh, there’s no doubt he’s a legitimate threat from downtown and he’s demonstrating that in this game. I like the back and forth here, showing confidence from range. It seems like we’re going to find out who can make the deepest threes. Right now, it’s a shootout. Here’s PMski. Hasn’t made one yet. Green and the call on the shot sends in to the line. Yeah, we know he’s undersized from the position, but Draymond Green does the work of several men, including how he forces the D that time, a foul. Let’s take a moment here to get your guys take on scoring so far for the Warriors. The three-pointers and how well they’re able to shoot them. You wonder if they can keep it up. And boy, have they. And you want to talk about ball distribution. They’ve been dominating that aspect of the game. I think there’s a bunch of bankers out there. They’re dropping dime after dime. The first free throw is good and some changes here for the Timberwolves. Reed comes in for Goar and Nquille Alexander Walker in for McDaniels. And Golden State also making a change. Peyton’s checked in. No good on the second. So he hits one of two. Timberwolves trail. Here’s Alexander Walker. Pastor to Randall. It’s taken away by Payton. Now here’s Green. Here’s Butler outside for Curry. Golden State moving it around. Peyton with a screen on Edwards to the middle. And the basket by P Day Payton. Payton’s got the lead. Up to four now for the Warriors. And you got to love the big bucket in the paint in this sort of a grind it out game. And we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan clearly. Get on your feet and make some noise for your time. T-shirt. It’s teacher. Make some noise. The loudest section is free. Let’s see who’s alive. So, it’s Minnesota now. Four-point game outside Edwards. Pass to Alexander Walker. Three-pointer. Randall Pensky grabs the board. Not a way to get out of a funk. He needs to be looking for good, solid, more efficient shots, not the wild one he took there. Now here’s Butler. 13 points in the game. Outside for Curry and it goes out of bounds. That one on Butler. And for such a young player, Brandon Pajenski has a mature game. Well, Kevin, his intellect out on the floor, I think, is at an elite level. Brandon does such a good job of hovering around the basket to get rebounds. He advances the ball with the pass. He’s driving and always looking for angles. So, this is an advantage created player. Brandon does a great job of keeping you honest here. Not a knock down shooter from that range, but is showing more and more that he’s capable of doing just so. Now, here’s Butler. Back to Curry and the whistle blows. It’s going to be on Michael Connley. That is his first foul of the game. Butler from outside. Like watching Randall get down, use that frame and use those feet to move around defensively for the lead. Jump shot is good. Randle’s got 15 points and not even three quarters out of the way. So many lead changes. The fans guys are getting their money’s worth. Heck, I should have paid to watch this, but it’s been a nail. But they’re from outside. It’s all in by Edwards. Edwards got rebound number eight here tonight in the game. Here’s Randall. And again, it’s Minnesota converting. Fleshing out his offensive attack here. Randall comfortable from that range to knock one down. Braden outside. Back to Curry. Pass to Butler. Sinks the 15-footer. 15 points for Jimmy Butler. Butler can’t get into the paint. He’s got some offensive options. He has the touch from the mid-range outside. Connley out left to the wing. Five to shoot. Here’s Reed. Offensive rebound. Randle no good. Golden State’s gone into the three-point range four times since halftime and buried two of them. Shots good from Butler. Defenders are trying to keep pace with Jimmy Butler, but there’s enough space for him to spot the rim and knock it down. And we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch looking for a breather and maybe just one or two things to talk about. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat up here. Dante Devenzo, he’s jumped in for Minnesota. Then for the Warriors, Trace Jackson Davis comes in for Green and it’s Buddy Heel in for Stephen Curry. Dvenzo kicks to Randall. Now here’s Connley. He’s defended by Pajki. Even Chenzo passes to Randall. Down to five on the shot clock. Conley with the three. The Warriors pull it in. PJMski’s got four rebounds in this game. Butler on the way. And they double up. Looking for Payton. He gets it there. The kick outside to Butler. Peyton with a screen on Randall. And a lot of contact on that one. So he’ll shoot two here. And you look how Jimmy Butler stays committed on that play, ready to overcome the defender and still take the shot. He’s gone two for two at the line so far. That free throw good from Butler Clark. He’s checked in for the Timberwolves. Dillingham comes in for Michael Conley. And the Warriors also making a change. Kingas checked in. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. Here’s Randall. He’s got 17. Not loose. Pass to Reed. Gillingham with it. And here is Deven Shenzo. A three ball. A rebound by Heel. The kick outside to Butler and they double up. Puts it up from 17. Offensive rebound. Randall against Kaminga. Outside Butler. The second chance effort. Got him with the bump fake but couldn’t finish. Generals trail by three toenzo and he makes it look easy dunking it hard with one hand. And how about Dante coming up and bringing his own inferno. Now Jackson Davis healed with it. Good on the shot. He’s got 14. And we always talk about making your teammate better. That assist was right on target. Devenzo against Peyton. Pass to Dillingham. Back to Devenzo for the tie. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Heels got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Wants to get it to Butler and does. Rebound Minnesota. Clark outside now. Here’s Dvenenzo. This one for three. Rebound by Butler. Butler’s got seven rebounds in the game. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s Butler guarded by Reed and they double up outside. Payton heel with a screen on Clark. Back to Butler. Three-pointer. He can’t get that one to fall. And Clark has got the ball here for the Timberwolves. They trail by three. Now Dillingham inside. Jimmy Butler has been on display for the Golden State Warriors. He was a true standout at the offensive end, both with his scoring and his passing. We come back right after this. And now we have a moment toh reveal our state farm assist of the game and definitely deserving of the prize tonight. How about the read he made here looking like a point guard putting the pass right on the money. so helpful to the offensive versatility when your bigs can create freeing everybody up and that cut was wide open. We’ve reached the fourth quarter and what has been a very competitive game should be an exciting finish. So with Butler sitting on the bench, here’s the group that Steve Cerr has on the floor. Some kind of shooting in the back court for him. It’s Curry in heel. Gary Payton II is out there with Jonathan Kaminga and it’s Jackson Davis in at the center position. Here’s Curry. Anthony Edwards making his last shot. Curry with the bucket. That’s tough. Tough finish. Steph’s not just a great shooter, but really great numbers through the years as being an elite finisher. Now here’s Steven. Reed kicks to Clark. Kaminga against Engles. Back to Clark. A three for Deanzo. Sinks the triple. It’s all added up. A quick release from Dante there. Just in time. So the defense had no shot. Pass to Jackson Davis with some arc. Reed with the rebound. Reed’s got four rebounds now tonight. Here’s Edwards shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. One is on heel. And this is Edward’s game. When he’s aggressive in trying to score, it really puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one misses. And what you love about Edwards is how intense he is. Guy plays hard every minute he’s on the floor. Minnesota making a switch here. Miller’s checked in. And that drops. So they now lead by one. Big trip to the line. He did not get all of them, but at least they hold the lead now. Curry looking it over. Now here’s Looney. Defense is right there. Curry finds Kaminga. Healed with it. over Edwards. Healed with the bucket. Time running low, guys. And uh somebody has got to win this one. Yeah. Well, who knows? We might need overtime in this one. It’s been that kind of a game. Now, here’s Shenzo. Here’s Edwards and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. And how about the commitment from Edwards refusing to give up on that two shots shooting two. He throw good Edward Peyton. He’s checked in for Golden State. He’s off on the second. Nice. Shaking his head moment there. Had a chance to put them out in front, but at least they’re tied up. Kaminga. Great te that time from Edwards. Minnesota shooting well. Third 45%. Clark right side. Miller. The pass to Edwards. And he makes the bucket, gets the whistle, and now a three-point play chance here for him. And he’s got more than a few ways to beat Edwards. will be aggressive when he has to initiate contact and create the N1 opportunity. Mike Connley’s checked in for the Timberwolves and the Warriors also making a change. Pajki, he’s checked in for Payton. He throw good. Edwards Warriors trail by three. Here’s Curry. Curry through traffic. Count it. Oh, Curry’s toughness on display inside there. Just clashing inside. Reed with a screen on Heel near the three-point line. It’s Edwards. Pachenski grabs the board. Warriors have gone three of five here in the fourth quarter. Pretty good numbers coming out of the break. Curry kicks to Kaminga up top heel. Edwards defending to the inside. Stolen by Reed. Here’s Connley. Count it. Good. And the Timberwolves lead by three. And how about that move? P. Connley adjusting around the contact to get the finish. Curry against Conaminga. The pass to Looney and they call the foul. So a chance at the line for one more coming up. And Looney able to stick with it that time. Even getting roughed up a bit. First 25 states at the line for one. Timberwolves have gone an outstanding four or five from the field in the fourth quarter so far. Conley dishes to Edwards. He’s off from 17 ft. The shot’s there for him and he’s got to take it. I don’t care if he doesn’t convert. That’s a shot he has to continue to take. With it, defended by Devincenzo outside. Connley has to Edwards. Reed with a screen for Edwards. It’s up a three. Warriors with the rebound. Healed outside. Now cured by Connley. Now heel. Six to shoot. Back to Pajki. Craps in the tray. Pajk’s got his first bucket of the game and he’s on the board for three. Timber rolls trail by three. Edwards with it. Reed with a screen on heel near the three-point line. It’s Edwards. Pajenski grabs the board. Pajk’s got six rebounds now in the game. Pass to Looney. Curry with beyond the arc and another three for Golden State. Curry is just lethal from outside. Conley kicks to Reed. Back to Connley. Clark outside. It’s in there. Connley with the assist. Connley’s got his sixth assist on the night. Both teams running perimeter oriented plays that are working well. Both of them looking towards the three-point line and I like to see that especially when the results are made buckets. Now here’s Curry trying to answer back, but that three is off the mark to the paint. That’s good. And the Warrior lead is cut down to just one on the basket from Edwards. Well, you see the size and the strength and and that ability inside. Edwards can play like a powerful hook at times. Edwards against Heel Ernie. Terrific assist. A nice finish. Solid play all around. And you don’t want to allow too many of those short ones with the game right now in the balance. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout and he wants to see some changes out there right away. Minnesota making some changes. Go. He’s checked in for Reed. Julius Randle comes in for Clark. And it’s McDaniels in for Dante Devincenzo. Then for the Warriors, Draymond Green, he’s checked in for Looney. Jimmy Butler comes in for Kaminga. Moody subbed in for Heel with a short break in the action gives us a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge. Hey guys, I listened in on what Chris Finch was talking about with his players. Now, he talked about keeping confidence. He said, “This game is close, but we know we’re the better team. Now, it’s time to go out there and prove it. See if they can come back in this one, guys.” Thank you, David. The body control from Butler. Wow. And Butler giving you the full buffet of the things he can do. Pando passes to McDaniels. Back to Randall. Launches it. And Curry pulls it down. Warriors leading by five. Shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. Julius Randle picks one up. There are troublemakers out on the court and Jimmy Butler is one of them and I mean that as a compliment with so many years in the NBA. You would think Curry would slow down, wouldn’t you, Brent? But he remains at the very top of his game. I think the best part about what we’re seeing with Steph right now, Kevin, is his competitive will. You get to this age and you get to this stage after accomplishing all the things that Steph has done and it’s still not enough. So, let’s keep enjoying him while we can. And he sinks the second. Enzo Connley will bring the ball up for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Six-point game pass to Goar. Oh, the lob to Go and finish off by Go. And how about the incredible timing on that? He absolutely hammered it down. Conley against Kurt from seven. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. Coar’s got his sixth rebound on the night. to the middle and finished off by Go. You have to prevent him from getting to the paint unless you want to see a high pass to Pimski. Outside Butler from deep rebound Minnesota Daniels dishes the come left side. Edwards down low. Go the pass to Edwards. Edwards gets it done inside. And even when under duress, Edwards stays calm, which is what allows him to still score on tough defense. Outside, Butler fires the three and a great assist by Curry as that one goes in. Curry’s got his third assist on the night. Bando passes to Connor. Randall outside, shoots the three. Here’s Edwards. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Really the right plate defensively. If you can’t block, force them to the line. shooting two. Good. That one is off. And as many times as we’ve seen him at the free throw line tonight, I I think by now we know what’s going to happen. He hits the second from the line. Only down two now, but that miss might come back to haunt you. If they don’t get a stop, it’s back to a two-p possession game. Back to Curry. Get it. Pass the buck. Lets the three fly and rebounded by McDaniels. McDaniels got four rebounds now tonight. And the call on the shot. It sends in to the line. It’s on Jimmy But at the line for Minnesota taking two shots. Shooting two. And he knocks down the first one. He’s perfect from the line this time. Golden State’s gotten three of their six-pointers to fall here in the fourth outside. Curry Green with a screen for Curry. Curry. What else is new? And none better. Steph stepping up. What a great feel for the moment. Steph Curry. Bingo. Edwards looking it over. Oh, he changed it right over Traymon Green. Wow. And the more experience Edwards gets, the better he’ll become, especially when he’s stepping up and hitting the big shots. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. Wants to make sure everybody’s coordinated and intent. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. the Warriors leading pass to Green. Back to Curry. fires from deep. Randle grabs the board. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Here’s McDaniels outside. Connley go with a screen on Kirk to inside slam dunk by Go. It’s Goar showing some guts on that one with that lift. A good bet to get off a good look in that crucial moment. Curry, that’s good. And guys, here in the fourth quarter, still a close game. Instant classic, fellas. This one could come right down to the shot. Warriors with the rebound. Here’s Moody. And that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. Michael Cons. So the first one drops and that will put I’m up by two. And a tough break is a second attempt at the line. No good. Well, they should be looking at a three-point lead. Hopefully for them that miss won’t cost. No question. He got bought on that shot. Number one shooting two good on the first and that narrows the gap to One and he is unable to get the second one. And so Green will bring it up for the Warriors. Right wing outside. Butler Green with a screen for Butler. lets it go from deep. Rebounded by the Timberwolves coar got rebound number 89 in the game against Ky the nerves on this guy not backing down from this moment here when the game is close he kicks it up enough. Now here’s Curry stolen by Conley. Here’s Edwards. It counts. And he is built to be the man for this team. Edwards answering the bell and executing. Here’s Curry. Go Bear with the block inside. Edwards. And the foul called on Edwards. That’s his first foul. After committing a turnover like that, you’re just praying the game doesn’t come down to the last possession. You’ll remember that. Can’t afford any wasted possessions down the stretch. Nope. Every opportunity here have to have flawless execution. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. Pivotal moment in this game. He’s not taking any chances. He’ll call time. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Now 8 seconds separating the two clocks. And the basket is good. Got it to go through on the contact. So, a free throw coming up. Great opportunity for three-point play. He knocks down the clutch free throw. How fantastic was that? One mistake and the game’s over, but he gets it done. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. This is a huge moment, folks, in this game. And he wants to be prepared. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat up 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. Oh, here is Edwards. He’s defended by Pajki. outside Edwards. Good. Defensive breakdown there. No doubt about it. I mean, he’s a guy you have to be focused on defensively. Here’s Curry with the block. So, it’s Minnesota taking the W. That was a fun night of basketball. Fabulous finish as they continued to wait out until the very last moment to seal it. And there are so many times when you see these tight games won at
