Behind Back Mistake ❌

Behind Back Mistake ❌

Here’s a common behind the back mistake and how to fix it. So, a lot of players will fluff a behind the back about here when they’re getting to their defender. The no no is the spacing. I’m way too far away. It doesn’t make sense to do behind the back. It’s just a little bit slower. I can’t cover as much ground with it unless I got a really good wrap behind the back and it’s just a little bit more difficult of a dribble for a lot of players. So, think about this. If you’ve got more than an arms distance from the defender, usually a crossover is going to be a pretty good move. If you’re about an arms distance between the legs, usually a good move cuz it gives you a little protection with this leg. You want to save your behind the back when you’re about an elbow’s distance or less to the defender because now you have protection the entire dribble. It’s not exposed like it is back here. And you can use it to wrap the ball past them with protection or stop with better protection cuz my body’s protecting it. I can use my arms, but I don’t really need to as much. Whereas, if I did this, it kind of puts me in a position where it’s not as easy to attack and see this way. But if I’m behind the back here, I can see both ways, move both ways easily. But if you want to take it behind the back and all that, check out the free workout. Link to my profile. Don’t ever do this in a game.

  1. My mistake when I dribble behind the back is I can't get the ball to my other hand.
