on Thursday. Just one game here on TNT and that’s going to be Golden State at Minnesota. The Warriors going without Steph Curry with that hamstring injury. He’s going to be re-evaluated in a week. Steve Kerr says you turn to the defense in a time like this. We think we have the best defense in the league and that’s been proven over the last couple months. we can rely on our defense and we have to generate offense um you know off of RD and then we got to figure out different ways to attack without staff. I mean every year playoffs are about adapting whether it’s a game plan or an injury or lineup. Um so we just have to adapt and we’ve done this before and we’re confident we can do this again. We play teams without their best player, you know, we kind of struggle sometimes. So just like treating Buddy like Steph, not letting him have a game he did last game and he’s kind of been doing that the whole playoffs. All the other guys, they’re just going to be way more aggressive. There’s going to have a lot more shots and then we just can’t let them get in a comfortable rhythm of playing without Steph. Little deflating, but we know, you know, uh he had did a great job of helping us build a comfortable enough lead and um Robin turned into Batman. Uh what y’all call buddy? Alfred. Alfred turned into Robin. And they just they they filled in. So it was beautiful to see. There’s your supply of Batman references. So I want to go back to what Jaden McDaniel said uh on the Minnesota side. Said, “Look, we’ve had some trouble with teams missing their best player, I guess, in their approach. What’s the danger?” Believe it or not, it’s it’s hard to get off a team when you know that guy is not playing. When that guy is playing, sometimes you play well. above your head. But even in a playoff game, I mean, it it listen, it’s human nature to some people, but the rest of us, especially at this point of time, when you have homec court advantage, you can’t make mistakes like that. When Steph went out, they should have sniffed the blood and became Timberwolves. They should have went for attack, but they didn’t. Anthony Edwards didn’t play great. A lot of teams didn’t play great. And you know, one thing about Golden State with or without Steph Curry, they are a system. They’re better system with Steph Curry in but you know when he’s out Jimmy Butler has the ability to you know take over games and then you know you give guys like uh uh my Bohemian brother shots. Yeah. Buddy Hill. Buddy Hill. Exactly. What do you make of what we’re going to see tomorrow night? I think the Wolves I think it helps the Wolves not have a let down because they lost the first game at home. I think human nature sometimes you have a let down when the team’s not going to have their best player. But this is going to be different. They lost the first game at home. If you had won that game, they might have a let down. But now they know they in a must-win situation. I think Anony’s going to come out full of energy. I love the fact that the coach call him out. You know, great players should be criticized just like everybody else. So, I think they going to come out Ant’s going to come out overly aggressive, which he should. Uh, and it’s a must-win for them. Well, I I I al there’s a lot of schools of thought obviously, but the the difference is when you have Steph, you there is a defensive game plan that you say, “Okay, this is how we’re going to stop the Golden State Warriors.” But without him, what happens while you say let down and maybe Jaden McDaniel is talking about is Kaminga might come in and now takes 12 14 shots. We’re not ready for that. We don’t know. We don’t have a defensive plan for that. We didn’t have a we might not have a defensive plan for Buddy shooting certain shots or well may possibly what’s our left-handed guard but we don’t have a defensive scheme to stop him if he gets hot. So that kind of happens because you you have to kind of change your whole thought like okay what are we doing on our defensive game plan tonight? Yeah. Um, as we move on, uh, it’s an anniversary, um, going back to 2002. Uh, one of the great press conferences of all time, Rasheed Wallace. No, Alan Averson. Bingo. Allan Averson. That’s That’s the 2000. If a coach say I miss practice and y’all hear it, then that’s that. We sitting here. I supposed to be the franchise player and we in here talking about practice. Well, coach, I mean, it listen, we talking about practice. Not a game. Not a game. Not a game. We talking about practice. Not a game. I I never I have not I have not counted uh the number of times, but it was and it’s just the way he said it and his look as he said it. And uh Chuck, to your point, both teams play hard.
