Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game 2 Predictions | 2025 NBA Playoffs Picks 5/8/25
Game two, Thursday night between the Warriors and Timberwolves. Key injury information. I’ve got breakdown of the side total, free player props for you, free plays, free analysis coming up right here, right now. Hi, this is Steve Merrill, wager talk.com, right back here on wager talk TV. And let’s get to the lead story. Stefon Curry questionable with the hamstring injury. Not expected to play Thursday night. We never know in the NBA, but I’m doing this video on Wednesday afternoon. Getting up nice and early for you the night before. And uh as of now, Curry’s going to have an MRI Wednesday. He’s not expected to play Thursday, but we’ll have more information heading into this game. So, let’s handicap it assuming he’s not playing. And that’s obviously what the betting markets think as well is it’s a hefty price for Minnesota. They opened 10. It was quickly bet up to 10 and a half. Uh total 2011 a half, 2011 in other spots. And that is a big adjustment from game one as that total closed at 210. So, we’re talking about almost a 9-point adjustment to the down here on the total. But it makes sense. Curry injured, likely not playing, one of the best shooters ever. By the way, I think he is the best shooter in history. Comment below if you disagree and let me know who was a better shooter in their prime. Um, but the game was low scoring without Curry, just 187 points, 9988. Golden State dominated the game. They were up by as many as 23 points. Minnesota never led by more than four. That was early in the game. But as we dig deeper into the box score, I think there are some reasons to like the Timberwolves here in game two. Not only is it a strong bounceback spot for him at home after the bad loss, but they dominated the points in the paint, 52 points in the paint, Golden State only 28. So once again, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a 24-point edge points in the paint. And Curry doesn’t play. He’s a great outside shooter. I just don’t think Golden State’s going to be able to repeat uh the incredible shooting that they had from long range as they finish the game 18 for 42, 43%. Meanwhile, Minnesota was just 5 for 29, 17% from three. That was a 39point edge from three-point range. Even without Curry in the lineup for more than 13 minutes, he did hit three threes, by the way, in those first 13 minutes before he was injured. So, I like Minnesota here to bounce back. I think it’s a good spot for him in game two. And yes, they’re only the six seed, but I still consider them a quality team. I don’t know if I’d say a class A team, but they’re definitely a quality team. In fact, they finished uh top eight in both offense, defensive efficiencies this year. I believe they were fourth overall in net rating behind the power three teams of Cleveland, OKC, and Boston. So Minnesota drastically underachieved this season. I look for him to turn it on here in game two. Now as far as player props, that might be the best way to attack this game because of the uncertainty of Curry’s injury. It’s really hard to handicap the Golden State side. Obviously, if Curry doesn’t go, I expect huge games again from Jimmy Butler and Buddy Heield. The two of them combined for 39 shot attempts and 44 points in game one. Uh Green had 13 shot attempts. Nobody else had more than nine shot attempts, and that was actually Curry. everyone else at seven or less. So once again, if Curry is not in the lineup, which it looks like he’s not going to be, uh, Butler and He are going to have huge games, are going to have to have huge games. Um, so although I lean Minnesota, I don’t really want to fade either one of them because they’re going to get a lot of shot attempts in minutes. So let’s look at the Minnesota side for some overplayer props. And the big three I would focus on are Jaden Daniels, Julius Randall, and of course Anthony Edwards. Uh, Edwards 41 12 minutes, 23 points, but he was only one for five from three-point range. He was only 9 for 22 shooting. He still got to 23 points. I look for Anthony Edwards to have a big game. I like his point prop over. Not a huge fan overall of Julius Randall, as you know, but I do think he’ll have a nice game here. He was only four for 11, including 0 for three from three-point range. Four for 11 shooting. He still got to 18 points in just 30 minutes of play. And that’s because he got to the free throw line 10 times and was 10 for 10 from the Charity Stripes. In fact, he took 10 of their 17 free throw attempts and made 10 of the 15. And so he obviously has a size edge and a physical edge down low, which I agree he does have in this series. So one of the few times that I’m bullish on Julius Randall. And then the third guy I mentioned, Jaden McDaniels, played almost 38 minutes. He had only 12 points, 6 for12 shooting. But I think Daniels also has a matchup edge as the 69 small/ower forward down low. And it always amazes me these guys. 69 could be considered a power forward. He weighs 185. He barely weighs more than me and he’s almost a foot taller. It really is incredible how light these guys are. That’s why they can jump through the gym. I think if you were 6’9, he only weighed 185. He’d be able to fly like a feather. So once again, Jada McDaniels is a guy I think who have some upside as well. Don’t forget, he was the 28th overall pick in 2020. Went to the Lakers and ended up on the T- Wolves for his whole career. But going into college that year, University of Washington as a freshman, he was considered maybe the number one NBA pick going into the college season. underperformed a little bit at UW, but he’s got a lot of upside. I think McDaniels, Randles, and Edwards have big games here in game two for the T-Wolves on Thursday night. That’s at 8:30 Eastern on TNT. What are your thoughts on this game, side, total, player props, how are you attacking it? Comment below. Include some analysis if you have time. And don’t forget, if you want my personal best bets, I give you lots of sides totals, player props here in the videos, but I’m very selective on my client best bets. Only the strongest of the strong go up as client plays. If I’m using a game, my clients get it as well. That’s how it’s always been since I started 29 years ago as a full-time professional handicapper in 1996. And I’m selective, maybe one to three best bets on average per day for all sports, which means the last cuts are pretty strong as well. And don’t forget, I post a bonus free play every day on my page, Steve Merrill, wageralk.com. That last cut that was just a bit outside for making the client best bet card goes up as a free play every day on my page. So check out the daily free play, but more importantly, think about getting on board my best bet service because this is such a profitable time of year. We went on a monster run starting right now last season. NBA playoffs were strong. Baseball was incredible. Went over 100 units in baseball alone. In fact, we had already doubled our bankroll by the end of August for all sports clients in 2024. And we’re looking to do it again this summer here in 2025. Different ways you can get on board. There’s a one day, a one week, a one month, a one year. Doesn’t matter which package you get. Every client gets the exact same best bets each and every day. Same plays that I’m personally using. But there’s different options. And one I want to mention is a flex pick. And a lot of you aren’t familiar with this because it’s a new concept that we came up a few months ago. You can buy a flex pass and then choose a different capper every day, including myself, Steve Merrill. And right now, when you buy a 7-day flex pass, you get 11 days. It’s a 7-Eleven special. No slurpee included, but if you buy 7 days, you get the 11day flex pick. So, if you’ve been thinking about trying the flex picks, now’s a great time because you get four bonus days included. No promo code needed. Check it out right now at wageralk.com. Or if you’re ready to take that long true investment approach and lock in for a full year and take an investment style to sports betting, which I highly recommend, now is the time to do so. Not because this is a monster time of year as far as winning goes historically, but because also promo code SM365 is still available, which gets you an instant $811 discount on a one-year all access pass. That gets not only NBA, and MLB, but it gets all of next year’s college football, pro football, and college basketball as well. 365 days and nights of all sports. And with that instant $811 discount, you’re getting it for exactly $3 a day. That works out to just over a dollar a play for every football, baseball, and basketball best bet for the next $365 days and nights. When you do the one-year all access, you will be taking a true investment approach. You will be building that bankroll consistently. And best of all, you save $811 discount right now with promo code SM365. Steve Merrill wageralk.com. Hey, get to my page quicker with shortcut wt.buzzsm. Oh, Mr. Merrill. How serious you take the joke that is the NBA with all its playoff FAKE INJURIES , almost always to star players that move the betting line. I remember when the NBA (it was still fixed) but at least gave a semblance of true competition and when its star players PLAYED EVERY FREAKING PLAYOFF GAME. Bird, Magic, Jordan, Ewing, Miller, Olajuwon – they even played sick( Jordan played with a terrible case of the flu) or with a bad back( ie Bird). But the expansion of betting has ruined sports, with NBA basketball ( and to some extent the NFL) seemingly most affected. For the last few years, you cannot watch the NBA playoffs without some of the best players being injured in every series. Can they use their imagination and come up with a more creative way to alter betting perception than " injuring " every star player they can think of? It is tiresome and boring to have to imagine how a team will play without player X. Carry on- after all these videos are about trying to sell your packages. Good luck.
Bet Reid Over+Gobert Under and vice versa. Both of them never go Over or Under together
So i assume wolves ML๐ฏ
Larry Bird and Pistol Pete Marovich with Curry
Wrong prediction in game 1 ๐ญ
Thank you Steve, I'll play Randle's total over 18.5 pts
Thanks Steve. Great analysis as always.
Love these early videos Steve. Thanks
yessssiiirrr!!
We donโt really know if curry is ruled out completely, if he plays he will probably play like 20 or so minutes.
Im a risky betting man and I like the GSW winning here and game to go under
Tough Wednesday.
Gsw plus the point for game 2 repeat.
Low scoring game
I like the wolves to win both halves at +120 small .5 unit wager
Thank you so much for your help.
THANK YOU STEVE ๐
You need a slump buster Steve, we started strong but weโre in a 6-11 drought right now
Thanks
Wow. You been right on the Celtics until they get a 20 point lead. Then they fold like crazy. We'll get it back.
Should have made OKC the best bet man i think they are winning it all
Minnesota is shooting the same way they did against LA in game six not like this is something new or unexpected
Tough loss on the Celtics. Iโm glad I threw this a little bit of salt on it.
Steph Curry, best shooter of all time hands down because he cannot only shoot coming off screens and picks he could shoot the spot up most important and the biggest difference is because he can shoot it off the dribble better than anyone else. Just as good as his. Coming off screens and spot up three point shooting
Could you please not get every single premium pick wrong.. please and thank you
Is this moron ever right ????
Do not bet on free plays. They are free for a reason.
Always good stuff.
I'm gonna take Larry Bird as best shooter ever but there's lots of great ones.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS+10.5 Warriors four SU wins verses the Wolves. Because of the Curry injury, Vegas is begging the public to take the Wolves. Warriors don't likely win but they cover in a tight game with great swarming defense getting turnovers into fast break scores keeping the Warriors within the big number. Warriors will need to not shoot as many three-pointers and drive the ball to the basket, and get free throws. Butler and Heild will need to hit the mid range shots. Thanks Steve!
Wolves going to win just like the OKC
Steve we've been getting killed lately bro , lets pick it up
Mark price would mop the floor with curry in shooting
I think it's more likely we see a repeat of OKC-DEN than NYK-BOS simply because of age and depth. Might have to play some unders and alternates for extreme outcomes in case Kerr punts on the game halfway through the 3rd like we saw in game 5 against Houston.
Then again, this 2nd round hasn't made any sense.
Minnesota is over valued, but Edwards will have a better game, and their defense will step up, Minnesota -10.5
โค
No better shooter than Curry. Some honorable mentions are Ray Allen, Bird, Dale Ellis and Steve Kerr
Damn u advertise too much you and everyone else ๐ if yโall are so profitable why do you spend your whole video trying to sell your picks ? Just print money gambling and give us your pick and analysis we donโt wanna hear you advertising dude who the hell watches a commercial YouTube video lol thatโs all this is
Timberwolves minus 1.5 first quarter I think they will jump out early then my second best bet timberwolves minus 4.5 at half
Hey Steve tell them your record for this playoffs this year? Who cares about last year. Your record sucks for this year.
Naz & Gary Payton arent factors ???
Reggie miller!!!!!!
Steve, Reggie Miller is my favorite shooter in history. On May 7th, 1995, Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 9 seconds against the Knicks. You are 100% correct in stating Stephen Curry is out for this game. Will Minnesota be able to capitalize? Definitely! This line moved to 10.5 in a heartbeat. I don't know why these imbeciles opened the line at 9.5 or 10. I took the Minnesota Timberwolves – 18.5 (+280) to cover at home over the Golden State Warriors. If the Warriors are winning at halftime or we get a big discount on the spread, we can increase our wager on the T – Wolves by 10 times. Vegas must pay for their incompetence.
i like warriors 0ver95.5 team total
Steve Kerr is better than Steph Curry… Facts. Drop the mic
You don't know about basketball.. you don't know about Steve Kerr and Scottie pippen.. how many rings did Jordan win without them. Yeah 0. That's what I thought
Batman is out for tonight. Calling on Robin and Alfred to step up!
Honestly something is up with the NBA playoffs. Feels completely like the WWE right now.
1 shooter I loved is John Stockton. 51.5% from the field average for entire career. ๐ฎ
I think if you're gonna play a side, I'd have to go Golden state +points. But I refuse to play a side right now
Salute ๐ซก
