Inside the NBA REACTS to Warriors vs Timberwolves Game 2 Highlights
Golden State and Minnesota tied up at a game a piece in the Western Conference semifinals as we welcome you inside the NBA presented by Kia. Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Ken Smith. Yes, Shaquille O’Neal repping Alabama State. The Hornets. Professor O’Neal. Professor O’Neal. How about How about this for uh Sunday? We don’t have Friday or Saturday. Really? We have two nights off. I didn’t know that. We come up Sunday with one game. 7:30 pre 8:00. Here I come. Game four. Cavaliers and the Pacers. Meanwhile, here’s game two. Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves home against the Steph Curry lees Golden State Warriors after the hamstring injury in game one. And they came out of the gate, hit him 13- nothing. 13- nothing. They came out, you know, and I don’t think they ever recovered. Steve Kur started to play every single player on the roster, plus the popcorn guy, plus the person, the trainer, the the manager. He put everybody in the game tonight. Yeah. Everybody but the chef. As a matter of fact, they were up 2915 after one. And the only one earning a minute more playing time is Kaminga and maybe Trace Jackson Davis. Oh, yeah. You’re right. I forgot. You’re right, Ernie. Um, but here’s Draymond Green picking up the technical. He I will admit he always make it look interesting like it could have been Yeah, like it just happened. Yeah, it could have just happened. No, don’t cut that man in the face. But it just happens to him a lot. And not only that, then you had Anthony Edwards. Trace Jackson Davis lands on his ankle. This is this is uh an issue if you’re the Minnesota Timberwolves. Obviously, he hobbles off. This is this is Paul Pierce like right here. But but it’s only it’s not the only thing he was missing. The only thing he was missing was the wheelchair. Not the first time this postseason that that left ankle has taken a shot. That one with LeBron James. What? This dude looked like he’d be dying out there. He get back up like nothing wrong. Comes out. Look at there. Come on, man. Listed as questionable for the rest of the game in the second half. Come on, sir. Oh my goodness. Hey, man. Steve Kerr, you better put that boy Kaminga in the game, man. Hit his first eight shots of this game. First eight shots. Cut it. Healed out of the corner. Yeah. All of a sudden, you got a seven-point game. When they cut it to seven, I was a little bit because they were down by 22. They cut it to seven. Here comes Minnesota going 18 to five on them. Yeah, this this is like just get off me, little man. I tell you what, man. The Warriors are in serious trouble, man. But they can’t score. Turnovers galore. That’s cuz they don’t have a a guard who can dribble, a point guard. And man, I tell you, Steph need a raise. He is at the max. He He need a back, sir. They would. They need to max them out, man. They never trailed. Led by as many as 25, tied the series 117 to 93. Here is Chris Finch. [Music] Chris, did you just kind of see a little more of the intensity, especially defensively tonight, that you wanted to? Absolutely. I mean, we look a lot more like ourselves. Obviously, uh the start was great. Um for us, that’s what we needed. uh set the tone. Um and uh you know, I thought we were pretty consistent there with everything other than the beginning of the second half, but uh other than that was exactly the response that we needed. Do you Does this series feel like one that’s going to have to be won on the defensive end just kind of like just by buckling down that way? Yeah, I think for sure, you know, they um uh I think both teams are really committed to defense. So um but we for sure have to take all the easy baskets out of the game and you know I think um try to figure out a few other things I think that that they’re doing as as you do in a series and it goes along but uh yeah I mean of course defense is going to be huge. So message uh the third quarter there when they cut it to seven called timeout. What was what were the things that you were looking for for them to get back to at that point? Yeah, taking care of the ball. We had like three or four sloppy turnovers. Just real sloppy turnovers. Um and then uh just got kind of loose on the other end and uh soft there um with some of our kind of communication and our switches. So, but mostly it was just turnovers, you know. So, um you know, guys were frustrated. Um but, uh we re we re you know, we we refocused pretty quickly. So Julius had I think 10 assists by the end of the third. Uh Timber Wells 21-4 now when they shoot 50% and that same record 21-4 when they allow under 100 points. They hold Golden State to 93. You heard Chris Finch talking about defense. He also talks about uh setting the tone and nothing sets a tone like coming out and throwing a shut out in the first seven minutes of the game. Yeah, they came out like we expected them to do or first five minutes. First five minutes 13 to zero. We listen, we expect them to do that. I expected Ant to have a better game than he had. I expect them to play well. They were at home. They knew they let one get away. So, you know, I expected this and has agree with Chuck. Golden State’s going to be in trouble if Steph doesn’t come back. I thought Jimmy was going to be a little bit more aggressive. You know, I said before the game, there’s two types of jimmies. There one likes to penetrate, get guys involved, and then there’s one that for, you know, small spurs, he can take over a game. But 13 shots I don’t think is enough when you’re the guy I think he needs to be up in that 20 25 range took 20 in game one. Yeah, he took 13 tonight at 17 points. Um is there something if you’re Steve Kerr is there something that you saw tonight that says you know what Jonathan Kaminga I’m going to I’m going to give him more Jackson Davis. I mean their offense looked ridiculous. There was probably 20 times where the shot clock got three to five seconds and they could never and it was still out past the three-point line. You know, a point guard is it’s like, let’s use the football analogy. A wide receiver can’t get the ball to itself. A tight end can’t get the ball to itself. That’s what they look like. They were just running around trying to go one-on-one and there wasn’t good enough. And Steve put Kamingo in and he played well. Trace Davis played well. But their offense was so disjointed. They going to have because I I remember I asked Kenny before the game, how are they going to play faster and they got nobody who can get them in their offense? Only time they got a fast break is when Draymond got the rebound and pushed it. The rest of the time it was it was sloppy, you know, and I counted at least three 24se secondond violations. You always keep those in your mind already, so you probably know the exact number. But yeah, they were they were disjointed. They turned it over 20 times. 22 points for Minnesota. Well, when your role is changed and you’re not ready for the role, then this what happens. You know, there are certain guys who change their role, but they’re ready for it. Oh, Steph’s out. I’m going to have an opportunity to do what I do. But everyone is is so reliant on the offense and and shooting in rhythm that I I was saying that this is going to be a different game. There was no rhythm shots. They were all I throw it to you and I said it was going to be stationary or rhythm. And so without step, it’s all stationary shots or stationary break your man down with no on a live dribble. And those guys are are NBA qual quality players, but that’s not their thing that they’re superpower at. you know, uh, uh, Paz, uh, Pazimski, Pazimski, you know, is a great spot shooter in rhythm, can slash in the lane. Kaminga is a a in rhythm, get on out in the break. You don’t have those opportunities and all of a sudden you look disjointed. You know what’s interesting, Ernie? When we we all players in the NBA can play, everybody know every everybody’s a good player. There’s different levels, obviously, but there’s very few players. Can you give me a percentage? How many what percentage of players in the NBA you can say here’s the ball get me a shot get me a good shot and you gonna get a shot every time or you gonna get fouls 10 to 15%. I agree with that. And some of those guys are on the bench like guys who come off your bench. They you can just give them the ball and that’s an offense. Like because I always tell younger players I said the offense is just for guys for the for great players just to know where everybody is. That’s all the offense is. I just need to know where you are when I’m about to make this move. So right now they don’t have they need help. They need help. 24 and 11 for Julius Randall. 11 assist. The most he’s had in a Timberwil uniform. You get the last word on this series looking ahead to game three. I think Golden State will come with a little more energy when they get home. Probably won’t be enough, but Minnesota has to not take them lightly. Still need to play better. You know, he he played okay, but when you want to be great, okay, is not good enough. You have to be way better than okay, they won, so he could forget about this game, but he’s still not shooting the ball like a superstar is supposed to. If you want to get to that next level, you know, you you gave an interesting stat. They either got knocked on the first round or made it to the Western Conference Finals. So, for them to make it to the West Conference Finals and beyond, he has to be a superstar and play a little bit better. 11793. That’s your final. You’re going to hear from Steve Kerr when we come back as Inside the NBA continues here on TNT. Uh, that might be pretty accurate. That is definitely accurate. That [Music] Thanks. If I could get out of here tonight, I wouldn’t.

CB talks too much sometimes and gets on my nerves…
Warriors could really use jordan poole right now
Chuck not lying I went to a game when we played the Spurs and Anthony hours heard his ankle he always comes back to the game 💪🏽
The warriors are too Steph dependant 🤞🏾
No buckets jimmy 😂😂
Klay and KD watching at home like those warriors better not get another 1 lol
The 'quiet weapon ' for Minnesota……..is McDaniels! He👈🏿plays like 2K…..just tenacious tenacity…..none 🛑
steve kerrs rotations bother me
I love WWE version of basketball
When Chuck wants to talk about the game, he is very good. It's interesting because like he said. NBA players can play, but it is only a select few players who can go out and get their shot or their teammates a shot every time.
The problem is people think Jimmy Butler is the Jimmy Butler of four years ago, that man is older now he don’t have the youth behind him anymore. He can still play, but he can’t carry a team like he did the heat. Minnesota should win this in a gentleman sweep 🧹
Professor and his buddy Felix let's roll out for the American pope 😊
so no one notice Cavs vs Pacers series skip to gane 4 in Sunday.
where is playoff jiimmy? smh
i really think curry will not play game 3. harmstring takes a week atleast to recover.. wolves likely will take 2-1 lead unless butler and crew will play A+ game which is unlikely.
Jimmy butler is the only person who can dribble , the rest are spot shooters as Kenny pointed out.
They should package Jimmy with whoever for kawhi or kd
Draymond Rocks, Reed hit him hard twice, he was f you you not getting away with that
2:06lebum tryina injured a player if u ask him he'll say I played the right way it's playoff after all🥴
Barkle😊's intelligence is showing………none
Wolves be smoking them fools. Wolves in 5.
Is Kevon Looney injured? Why not put Kevon Looney for defense and offensive rebounding? The warriors are getting more ball possessions every time Looney is in…
When is the NBA going to suspend Green with his b.s.??? I don’t care if it’s the playoffs!!! Stupidity is stupidity.
I don't see any team better than, that can beat the OKC right now in the west (and probably in the NBA)
Nah, they want to make money out of the series. They play with their food which is the Wolves😂
I don't care who wins on this series but if you're a real Timberwolves fan, you'd know that you better crush GSW with Curry playing healthy. With Curry gone, you can't possibly avoid the big WHAT IF on this series and you can never blame GSW fans calling you lucky especially with how game 1 went and the fact that Steph Curry is not playing. If Antman was out, you'd be saying the same.
I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be too cocky for being lucky this time around. GSW is barely at 50% without Curry. He makes teams collapse defensively and he is a legendary offensive weapon as well. GSW fans ranting about this ain't about making excuses. It's just a factual frustration.
