Danny Green is UNIMPRESSED by the Thunder’s 43-point BLOWOUT vs. the Nuggets | NBA Today
So to say that the Thunder put it on the Nuggets last night, it it might be a little bit of an understatement. OKC had a historic night just starting in the first half with two Ched homegrren free throws to end the first half. The Thunder set an NBA playoff record for the most points in a first half with 87. It’s also tied for the most in any playoff half here. So, let’s dive a little deeper because with their 43-point win in game two, the Thunder, they became the first team in NBA history with multiple 40point wins in a single postseason. That’s after leading by at least 30 for 27 minutes and 44 seconds in game two. That’s the fourth most by any team in a playoff game since 1988. SGA, he was incredible. He became the first player in franchise history with 30 points on 80% shooting in a playoff game. He also put up Chennai a plus 51 plus minus. Crazy. That is the best by any player in a playoff game since 98. And the Thunder, they dominated defensively as well. They scored 34 points off turnovers, their most in a playoff game since moving to Oklahoma City. They also held the Nuggets to 28 paint points on 38% shooting on layups and dunks. It’s Denver’s worst such shooting in a playoff game in the Nicola Joic era. That is a statement if I have ever seen one. Yeah, but we got punked and we didn’t play well enough and they came out with the right intensity and we didn’t. Basically, it was one team playing tonight. Uh even the m turnovers, misses, uh they were aggressive. They were going by us. They were rebounding the ball. They were just better. They were much much better than us today. And that’s the score. That’s why the score is so bad. Punked. That’s one way to put it. Perk, what statement did the Thunder make in this blowout against the Nuggets? The same statement the head coach just said, they did get punked. This game was all about physicality, right? And we talk about, you know, the the big fella and him being the best player in the league. Well, I saw Thunder team and their bigs bring the physicality. They were fouling hard. Isel Hardenstein and Chad Homegr was into him. And I love those 12 minutes by the light-skinned Jaylen Williams off the bench. I thought he they wasn’t giving Jokic anything easy. He fouled out. He had the worst uh plus minus of his career. It was just a frustrating game, but that’s the type of physicality you got to bring when you’re playing against Joic and Aaron Gordon. They shut him down as well. I mean, it’s a great win for OKC, but I’m not impressed. You know, really, this is what they’re supposed to do. They’re the number one seed. They’re 15 plus games ahead in the standings in Denver. They actually let Denver come in and steal one from when they lost home court now. So, I’ll be more impressed. Do it three more times or at least two more times, you know. So, if they get a win or two wins in Denver, then I’ll be impressed. But, you’re the home court team. You’re the number one seed. You’re supposed to win at home. You lost one. You split with Denver. This win actually could go. It gives Denver some motivation, a chip on their shoulder to come back in game three and actually make this a series that is not supposed to be. OKC has been the juggernaut of the playoffs. Everybody talks about how great they’re supposed to be. You’re supposed to do this. I vehematiently disagree with you put every eag in that. I think it’s time we put more respect on Shay Gildas Alexander’s name. All right, you take a loss. That happens. He even said it on the podium after last game. To me, I’m looking to see how you respond. And they responded in per great fashion in emphatic fashion. Why am I impressed? People sleep on this man too much. He had 34 points in 30 minutes. He went 11 for 13 from the field. He scored eight for 10, I think, off the dribble. And he made about almost all of his uncontested shots. Yeah, we have yet to see his MVP big time game yet. But still, this is the model of consistency that we’ve come to know from the Oklahoma City Thunder. And to me, what separated, you know, Shay’s greatness is his assists. He had eight assists. The first game he had eight and defense. He was good in 40 minutes, but this time in 30 minutes he had it. He was solid. This team goes as he goes. And I really feel like like you played with Kawaii. I did. And you know, obviously with SGA, I feel like they have the same demeanor. They’re so good, but it gets slept on because of this. The monotone. Yeah. The aura is just a little I’m consistent in everything I do. Flashy. I get it. I just need to see it on the road. The good news for the I hear you. I hear you. But boy, the good news for the Denver Nuggets is whether you lose by 43 or you lose by one, it is just one game. One thing though that I’m keeping an eye on, you’ll get to 13 turnovers in that game. That’s pretty uncharacteristic. They are turning him over at a high clip. If that continues, then maybe Danny will be impressed. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

Who else is tired of these stats and analytics?
OKC literally gift 1 game to the Nuggets omg okc is in trouble we been saying it
Next game OKC Blew their head off with a 50 point game w, this is nothing.
Danny green is a buster
People sleep on shai??? Tf are u on chiney? The crowned him mvp months ago.
OKC was impressive – this is what I expect them to be as the number 1 seed. Credit them for that.
With Nuggets, you can never know, Clippers also blow them out by 30+ points on a game but still won the series. Their run has been so lucky this yr like, most things are going in their favor. At the end of the day, it's just one game to even the series at 1-1.
Job is not finished
Danny you clown, you make no sense. When anything that break history is always impressive…. Thunder💪
ESPN SHOW, 4 talking heads if you didnt watch game. OKC MVP REFS
He’s right everyone wants to say how good thunder is so why everyone tryna give them flowers for winning 1 play off game …..
OKC played their worst games in months in game 1, and still should’ve won. They played good in game 2 and beat the doors off of Denver
Yall glazing OKC😭 Denver won half asleep Monday night, they played terrible literally the whole game and still won 😭. OKC should’ve done that Monday splitting was a HUGE L for OKC
Green is right–blowouts never mean anything, especially in the playoffs. More flash than anything else.
Green legitimately sounds like an idiot. What is ESPN’s fascination with employing morons?
We all understand Oklahoma City Thunder had eight full days of rest before facing Denver, and after a narrow Game 1 loss, they came back with an explosive 43-point victory in Game 2. Their sudden boost in strength, alertness, and power raises questions-could PEDs be a factor? Given that several NBA players have tested positive for PEDs in the past decade, should the league enforce stricter testing before each playoff game to ensure fair competition? Hmmm.
Hey now, I agree with Danny, it was impressive though but he definitely calmed down quick and gave SGA props. It's still a concern OKC lost a game at home but they did have 9 days off lol.
So the NUGGETS got beat by 43 with jokic and Murray and you not surprised? Get this man off tv😂
Ms Andrews your impressed because you don't know ish about basketball that wasn't good their not a good 1 yah keep glazing
Respect is earned not given! Shai Gilgeous Alexander has to play with fairness consistently, he's never won an Olympic gold medal, but he has won the bronze medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup with the Canadian national team, and it's best if we all put RESPECT on fair competition.
lol the Thunder gave away game 1 and then stomped them game 2. Denver and Jokic especially looks tired. Wouldn’t be shocked at all if OKC wins both in Denver
I guess someone had to be the contrarian cuz it's ESPN so today it was Danny.
The disrespect to OKC continues.. Imagine a young team bounce back from Game 1 due to some errors but got back in Game 2 with a HUGE LEAD and the coverage for this team was only 5 mins!
While Celtics / Warriors / Knicks / Nuggets / Lakers (even if they are out) got longer media coverage.. deyyyym!
you have to say it before hand or it doesn't count
At the end of the day it’s 1-1 and Denver took one game at okc… that takes away their home court and Denver being a better home team if they get both at home I see now way okc can win
Top seed teams don't just win playoff games by 30 -50 points, that's not a standard. This team has done something different, they are putting up big points while also playing great defense and holding great teams below their average
I VEHEMNETLY AGREE WITH DANNY HE IS RIGHT!!!!! SHOULD BE 2-0
It was a bad night for nugs but Denver stole 1 on the rd. Looking good for 2 wins in Denver if they muster up some defense, be physical and shoot way better
He is right tho
SGA doesn’t need a PR team he’s got these guys! Notice how there’s no technical analysis just mentions physicality and there was a lot of OKC gave and got away with. However were the Nuggets allowed the same? Hell no case point their best player fouled out in the third quarter. The difference would be significantly less if the whistle was fair. Game 1 everyone talked about Jokic basketball IQ and plays they made as a team. Notice how that was not the case here because it was just lay ups drives and get free throws
bad outfit day malika😔
The excuses and passes y'all give Jokic and Curry never cease to amaze me
danny green a straight hater lmao
As a thunder fan, I'm with Danny Green! We were supposed to do this especially after that game 1!!
The Extender Fixer Scott Foster + Free Throw Merchant + Unethical plays = Sure loss to opposing teams
danny green basically saying its 1 game, it won’t matter if they lose the series
love the OKC win but they really need to tie the series, game 3 probably a bloodbath if OKC repeat that in game 3 that would be impressive.
Chet is always overly impressed by himself, since high school.
1-1
Green is right , okc had 8 days of rest, Denver came off 1 day rest after a 7 game series against a more offensive talented clippers team , okc should’ve won by 50 the 1st game lol😅 okc has their weakness just like every team does
What Danny is saying is, Denver did what they was suppose to do, they won a game in OKC. The urgency in this game is not there for them, especially coming off a 7 game series. OKC is suppose to blow them out, especially after losing the first. The Nuggets will come out next game at home with bazookas and that’s where OKC will be tested, that’s where they have to show that they are THAT team.

Agreed it should be 50 💀
Denver can't run with us they struggle with teams who run let's call a spade a spade
Chìney is fine
Danny is right
why the NBA media partners didn't look very delighted with the result of this OKC game? we wouldn't hear the end of it if bron's team had 43pts difference as well as bron got +51 lol….is it because particular hierarchy of NBA media partners ain't happy OKC didn't follow 'the script' given to them? lol
Jokic had 6 turnovers not even 13 Malika. Where the hell did you get 13 from??
