NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves GAME 2 LIVE | May 10, 2025 | WCSF 2K25
Thank you. I want Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Yeah. Down. So for Minnesota right now, we’ve got Dante Devincenzo. He’s out there with Anthony Edwards. Nas Reed out there with Nquille Alexander Walker. And it’s Clark in at the power forward position. And they just continue to dominate the boards. Guys, I think they’ve simply been a more physical team. That’s why they’re ahead. Now here’s Edwards. Edwards with some muscle. Edwards just doesn’t allow defenders to bottle him up. Great focus and persistence. Venzo against Curry. Here’s Kaminga. And it’s good. Off the back rim and in. Kaminga’s got his second basket on the night. Watch out now when this guy gets into a rhythm. It is something to behold. And here’s Edwards outside. Edwards from way deep. Well, that was a bomb from Edwards showing off that deep range. Curry against Steven Enenzo. Kaminga up top. Good D by Clark. That’s their plan to get him an opportunity to finish in tight. That’s a miss they can live with. Clark with the screen. Here’s Debenzo. The kick out to Edwards. Fires the three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. All right, guys. What do you think so far on the offensive approach for Minnesota? You know, so far in this one, these guys have been knocking it down from distance. You got to like their confidence as this game continues. They’re on a nice roll. And also, the coaching staff has to And that’s good as he hits both shots. Second quarter play. Almost three minutes gone here. Curry against IVenzo. Clark. The pass to Alexander Walker. down low. Clark finds Edwards and Edwards slams it in. Yeah, you know, once Edwards flips that switch now, he stays fully engaged. His offensive arsenal is on full display to the paint and he dumps it down. And what an aggressive move to the rim. He’s really trying to fire up his teammates right now. Boy, it’s not hard to feel inspired after a teammate makes that kind of finish. You know, when you’re looking to close the gap, you need guys who will take it upon themselves to step up, take the initiative to make something happen. Devenzo and Edwards the bucket on the assist by Devenzo. Edwards got nine points in the quarter. At the offensive end, he’s been assertive and efficient, guys. A big reason why they hold this lead right now. Outside Payton 43. Clark grabs the board. and their physical dominance has been on display. A 10 rebound advantage is a good indicator of how this game has gone. Here’s Edwards. Edwards so good inside. Guys, this has been an incredible performance this quarter. I mean, he’s getting the ball where he likes it and wants it and just going to work. Outside Payton back to Curry. Oh, Curry just weaving his way through traffic. Still knocks it in. Boy, he’s doing everything he can at this point. The rest of his teammates need to step up and give him some help. It’s Edwards on the wing. Cody defends and there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Yeah. And you know, when Edwards is aggressive, I think it forces defenders to try to get physical back. And when he’s close to the rim, he usually is able to draw the foul as a result. And he can’t get the first one. How about the work ethic of Anthony Edwards? Not to mention that linebacker build and the sweet shooting stroke. But what he wants most is to see his team succeed. That’s what you love about AE. Green’s checked in for the Warriors. Pajimky comes in for Payton. Rudy Gobear’s checked in for Minnesota. Mike Connley comes in for Devenzo. He hits the second from the line. A superstar level talent for sure. Anthony Edwards is awesome, but I like his competitive spirit as much as his skills. Now here’s Pajki. Green with a screen on Connley. Curry looking it over. The shot no good. Boy, he’s got to be disappointed in the result there. I mean, the defender really didn’t make any impact at all. Outside Reedley, Conley. Connley against Curry. Clock at six. Outside Edwards Minnesota again missing. Warriors trail by 12. Cody passes to Kaminga. Oh, so tough to stop Kuminga inside. And that’s exactly how you attack length. I love how he does it last. That’s well done there. I mean, don’t even give him a chance to get to the block. Get in tight and finish at the rim. Pass to Edwards and it’s rejected. Out of bounds. Timberwolves ball as Minnesota keeps possession. It’s time to take a glance again at that superb block. Oh, you could feel the playoff intensity in that block. He’s playing some extra aggressive defense out there. And some changes here for the Warriors. Jimmy Butler’s checked in for Kaminga and it’s Buddy Heield in for Moody. Julius Randles checked in for Minnesota. McDaniels comes in for Alexander Walker. outside Curry. Randall against Butler. And he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. And you know, Butler thinks the game as well as he plays it. He’s a smart player. I like how he uses the pump fake. Draw the contact. Shooting two. He misses the free throw. You know, when you’re looking to create a culture, a championship type culture for your team, you want guys like JB. Guys that are tough, accountable, and consistent. Reeds checked in for Randall. Good on the second one. Well, you go back and look at the career that Jimmy Butler’s had. Hard to believe that he was the 30th pick of the draft when he came out of college. You got to say that scouts kind of missed on that one. Now here’s Connley from 11 ft away. Back to Reed from deep. Yes, great play by Connley to set it up. Connley’s got his third assist of the night and they’re up considerably because of their efforts on the glass. Yeah, rebounding has been a big key in this week. They’ve asserted their will and they’ve taken control on the glass. Curry against Connley. Now here’s Curry guarded closely. Up and over Connley. Curry shot is off. You know, he just has not been himself this period. Just too inconsistent up and down at the offensive end. Edwards. The pass to McDaniels. Reed. A screen on heel. Back to Edwards. Fires from deep and it’s Stephen Curry with the rebound. And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for the Golden State Warriors. Here’s Butler. The gritty finish from Butler there. They just look so overwhelmed inside. That’s why they continue to get attacked. Yeah, I think they got to ramp up the aggressiveness. If they don’t, things are just going to get worse from here. And there’s a pitch outside. Edwards. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. It goes on Brandon Pajinsky. Really important for this team to get production from Edwards. When he’s aggressive in scoring the ball, they go to another level. And this will be his third and fourth free throws of the game here. He throw good Edwards, you know, he didn’t get to the line in that entire first quarter, but right now he’s showing some aggressiveness out there. Kaminga, he’s checked in for Stephen Curry. And both free throws good for Edwards. Warriors trail by 12 and Steve Kerr calls timeout and we might see some changes. Coach potentially looking to adjust Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Kaminga finds Green. Here’s Kaminga. outside heel and stolen by Edwards outside Connley. Connley just keeps producing. He’s the ultimate professional. It’s his first trip to the line. And he drops a first. and Connley drops them both. Making shots at the line, you need a good routine and he certainly has one. Warriors trail by 14. Now Butler. He’s got seven. He goes up again. Oh, good work on the interior from Butler. An aggressive mentality always part of Jimmy Butler’s game. Taking it right at the defense. Connley passes to Goar. Now here’s Edwards. Six on the shot clock. Warriors with the rebound. And here’s healed. He’s got five. Here’s Pimsky outside. Butler. The three ball. Boom. Three for Jimmy. When Butler hits this shot, he’s impossible to defend. Minnesota leading by nine. Connley passes to McDaniels. Reed with it. Pass to Edwards and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. And we’ve seen Edwards grow a lot in the past few years. He has a great understanding of how to prick defenders in tough spots. This will be his third trip to the free throw line. First free throw is good. And both free throws good for Edwards. Warriors trail by 11. Pass to Green. Now healed. Back to Green and stolen by Go Bear. Here’s McDaniels. It’s good. Only a few seconds into the shot clock. He can score from anywhere. Whether it’s pulling up or driving the lane, McDaniels is up to the task. Outside Kaminga to the inside. Heel against Edwards. Back to Kaminga. Outside for Butler. And the Warriors with another three. You know, the second period’s been much more kind to him than the first. I mean, let’s see if he can keep it going and maintain this. Connley looking for an opening. The three and he can’t connect. He’s one for three in this game. Golden State has gone two of four from the perimeter in the second so far. McDaniels against Green. Shot clock at five. Heel against Reed. And it’s heel missing. They really have a commanding lead, not just in points, but in rebounds as well. And what I like about it, it’s been a physical brand of basketballs. Had a little sandpaper element to it. Gritty and rough, but that’s how you win games. And here are the Warriors now following the score by Minnesota. Edwards against Heel with the teardrop. He can’t get it to go. Ooh, great D that time from Gobear. Edwards against Heel. McDaniels passes to Edwards over heel. Edwards no good. Warriors trail by 12. Pass to Butler. Oh, at the buzzer. Wow. I didn’t think he was going to get it off in time. Oh, wow. I agree. I mean, and to have the composure to lock in and get off a shot he feels confident about. That’s good work. And so, it’s Minnesota earning this break in the action up 10. What has them in front right now? By and large, they’re taking great shots. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. Thanks a lot, guys. Head coach Steve Kerr here with us now. Coach, what do you want to see from this team in the second half? Well, we got to make some stops and get a little traction in this game. I mean, we fell behind right away and uh so let’s make a push the first four or five minutes, get back in the game. Thank you, coach. Ally, as always, thank you. We’ll be right back to begin the third quarter right after this. I love how they’ve kept the ball moving. Make the defense play musical chairs out there. Musical chairs. I I think you mean hot potato because they’re burning that D. Whoa. War. Looking at the series breakdown for the Warriors. A dream start. Two wins on the road and now a chance to go up three zip at home. Well, they’re definitely sitting in a good place, but they got to watch their backs. Yeah. Over. And that’s a wrap on halftime. Thanks for watching as we send you back to BA to call the second half. And we’re back with you folks as this exciting Western Conference semi-final game rolls on. And you know, Anthony Edwards has been really making it happen, guys. Yeah. tonight. He’s done a great job of slashing through the lane and finishing. Yeah. You know what, guys? They gave him too many free runs to the hoop in the first half. I think they’ve got to be a lot tougher on it. Body him up. Be physical with it. And Minnesota with possession here. They’ve led by as many as 14. Curry and Pods make up the back court. Green out there with Butler and it’s heel in at the small forward position. That’s the Warriors five. Yeah, a shot that Randall has added to his repertoire. Shooting the three with confidence. Now outside Curry Heel the screen on Connley. Back to Heel McDaniels with some nice D. The Timberwolves lead by 13. Pass to Edwards. He’s had six attempts at the line. He’s made five of them. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. free throw. Good. Edwards. And both free throws good for Edwards. And Curry’s got the ball here for the Warriors. 15-point game inside. The shot by Pajimky. No good. Minnesota’s gone six of 14 from the perimeter tonight. Pass to Edwards on the take. Edwards. Great D that time from Pinky. Well, the Warriors shooting at about 44% so far. Here’s Butler. Back to Pajki. Shot clock at six. The three from Curry. McDaniels with the rebound. McDaniels got his fourth rebound in this one. Just a little over 90 seconds gone in the third quarter. Randall deciding where to go with it. The kick out to Conway. There’s the three. Rebounded by Heield. He’s got four rebounds now. Outside Pajki. Pass to Butler. The three is up. Minnesota with a rebound. Go Bears got seven rebounds in the game. Well, an awful beginning to this half, guys missing their first four attempts. Tipped. Curry with a steal. Butler with a ball. 17 points in the game to the middle. The kick out. Curry to win. The Cold Fell and a great assist by Butler as that one goes. Curry’s got 17 points and this offense needed that one after four misses to start the half. And Chris Finch has called timeout. He wants to review the game plan. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Here’s Randall. Nine points in the game. Outside Connley. Randall on the screen. Pass to McDaniels. Five to shoot. puts up the eight-footer, uses the glass to drop it in. McDaniels got six. You’re not going to get every shot off clean. McDaniels recognizes that and made the adjustment accordingly. Green with a screen on Randall outside for Green. Plenty of space and a great assist by Butler as that one goes. Butler’s got three assists tonight. pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Edwards can’t hit. Surprising to see him miss here, but they’ll be happy with that shot in most possessions. Pass to Pajimski. Butler up top. Check by Randall. Oh, I like how Butler uses his body in the paint. excellent at forcing the issue and getting the call close to the rack. And this is his second trip to the line tonight. That’s good from Butler. And Minnesota making a change here. Reed’s checked in. So after making the first, he goes one for two. The Timberwolves lead by 11. Here’s Connley. All in by Curry. And so Curry will bring it up for Golden State over Gobear. Hits the rim on the way in. And the bucket is good. Curry’s got 19 points. working that in between area. Steph likes to keep the defense on its feet. Conley passes to go. Now Edwards can’t hit that one. Great D that time from Pimski. Green with the ball. Picked up by Reed. Green. The pass to Curry outside. at Pajki. Here’s Butler. Oh, he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It’s going to be on Nas Reed. Butler has never lacked the willingness to be aggressive and to hunt contact. And you got to love that toughness aspect about Jimmy Butler’s game. Let’s get it. And he makes a first. Butler hits them both. Minnesota leading by seven. And here’s Edwards outside. The triple hits for Edwards. Nice smooth three-point shot by Edwards there. Boy, he’s got confidence from behind the arc. Outside Butler. Butler. A screen on Connley. Back to Butler. Ooh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. And let’s take a moment here to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Timberwolves. Well, I think they’ve been lethal from beyond the arc this game. No doubt about it. Hard to defend such spot-on shooting. And they’re also really getting it done at the free throw line. They’ve earned a lot of good calls and are making the most of every trip they get to the line tonight. First one falls for him. Starting to find a rhythm from the line now as they try to cut into this deficit. Here we go. And he can’t hit the second. He passes to Butler. Parked it down low that time. Got hit with the 3second call. That’s a costly error. Let’s see how they bounce back. Well, you know what? Their wounds are self-inflicted. I mean, you’ve got to play much smarter than that. Outside Edwards. Back to Connley. Pass to McDaniels outside Edwards. That shot off. Great D that time from PJski. Boy, this is um bad. Tough to watch. I mean, this is really bad. He’s stone cold. This boy, man. Outside. Butler outside. Pajki Curry with it. Six to shoot and count the basket. He was fouled and he’s going to the line for one more. He made the only free throw attempt he had earlier in the game. Dominga, he’s checked in for the Warriors. And the Timberwolves also making a change. Alexander Walker, he’s checked in for McDaniels. And that one falls for Curry. When you talk about shot mechanics, Curry is as close as you can get to perfect. I mean, you can tell he puts a lot of work into that part of his game and it pays off. Now here’s Alexander Walker yet to see a basket from deep. Connley and the Timberwolves hit again from deep. Backing up that last three with another three. The defense has to stop giving them so many clean looks. Go against Greensc. It’s blocked by Goar. So good at finding these Schwats. Goar loves reaching out and sending them away. And the fans love seeing incredible moments on defense like that block. It’s a different kind of defense teams play in the postseason. Much more intense, more in your face. High energy plays like that one are winning plays. On the wing, Curry. He’s guarded by Conley. Down to five on the shot clock. pulls up on the wing. Anthony Edwards with a rebound. Edwards has got five rebounds tonight. Good job hitting the glass. They’re plus eight in rebounding. Now here’s Alexander Walker. He’s watched by Kuminga. And it’s Alexander Walker penetrating. It’s stolen by Kuminga. Here’s Green. Let’s go with a three. The Jimky shot is good. But Jimky’s got fives. The three-point shooting has been on point here in the second half. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Those three-point bombs will erase the deficit quickly if they can keep it up. And Chris Finch calls timeout here. He’s going to talk it over with his guys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Here’s Alexander Walker. No points yet. And he goes strong with the one-handed jam. Woo! Defensively, you can’t afford to let him get to the rim that easily. Well, that might be why their deficit is what it is right now. You know, you look at it, the communication is lacking, as is the trust. They can ill afford those types of breakdowns. It won’t work. You can’t win with those kind of breakdowns. Here’s Pajki following the score by Minnesota. Pocket four. Green up top. Nice work that time by Draymond to draw the foul while in the act of shooting there. He’s got his first free throws of the night right here. The first one falls. There’s always a spot for a guy like Draymond Green on your side. An incredible defender. He’s unselfish offensively and a highly skilled passer. and he makes both free throws. Yeah. In terms of winners in NBA history, you have the resume of Draymond Green. Connelly against Curry. Pass to Goar and the foul called on Draymond Green. That’s foul number two for him. Reed for three. Counted from distance. Reed’s got nine points. This is a big part of Reed’s value. I mean, he’s proficient from deep and he’s got a quick trigger, too. Outside Pajki to the paint. Oh, go Bear with a steal. Alexander Walker with it. Kuminga defends down low. Here’s Edwards and the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. There’s no debate there. He got hammered. Blatant contact. Straightforward call. Simple. He’s been punishing them at the line in this one. Going seven for eight. Take a break. Take a break right. throw good. Edwards Clark has checked in for Gobear. And both free throws good for Edwards. If they keep hitting free throws at this clip, it’ll help them seal the deal. Yeah, they’ve not missed a single foul shot this half. And that’s taking care of business, fellas. Now, here’s Kaminga. He has six. Here’s Moody. The rebound by the Timberwolves. Reed’s got rebound number seven tonight. Edwards looking for an opening over Moody. Edwards no good. Warriors trail by 11. Butler passes to Peyton. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. The defense there doing whatever they can to protect the rim. Definitely saved a layup with that foul and he’ll make him earn him from the line and that’s what you want to see on the night. He’s two for two at the strike. No good on that one. And he’s good on the second. Minnesota leading by 10. Alexander Walker. The pass to Clark. There’s a screen. The three. The rebound by Payton. The Warriors have gotten five of 12 shots to drop in the third. Clark against Butler. Pass to Kaminga. Moody on the wing. Shot clock at six. Oh, serious gut check points from Moody. Sometimes with that much of a height advantage, resistance is futile. Clark outside. Right side. Breed outside. Connley launches a three. The shot no good. Just imagine if he was shooting better. The lead would be even bigger. To the inside. The shot by Butler. No good. Minnesota leading by eight. Outside. Alexander Walker. Reed sets a screen. This one for three. Alexander Walker with the bucket. Alexander Walker’s got five points now this quarter. They’re getting torched on the perimeter. Four of the last five buckets have been threes. It’s hard for me to watch this. I mean, the defense practically giving them those shots. Dominguez shot is off for Minnesota. They’ve gotten seven of 16 shots to go so far in the third quarter. Connley finds Edwards. Good success at the line. Shooting nine of 10. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. He throw good. Edwards Deventenzo. He’s checked in for Minnesota. He’s perfect from the line this time. Warriors trail by 13. Peyton passes to Moody. Right side. Kuminga. Kuminga. Strong like bull. They just aren’t attacking from the perimeter like they did in that first half. And I think that’s part of the problem right now. Inside. Here’s Alexander Walker. Good setup. Led him to the rack perfectly for the layup. Alexander Walker’s got seven points. 54 seconds left in the third quarter. To the inside. Stolen by Reed. Outside Alexander Walker. Pass to Edwards. And here’s Reed. Back to Edwards over Moody. And Minnesota again with a bucket. He’s certainly been their go-to guy when it matters most. He’s trying to close this one out. Butler against Clark now. Oh, here’s Butler. He’s got 21. And here at the end of the third, it’s a double-digit ball game. Timberwolves ahead up by 15. And right after this, we’ll bring you the start of the final quarter right here on 2K Sports. And let’s take this opportunity to show you our State Farm assist of the game. This is the definition of team chemistry. I love to see this kind of communication and connection between teammates leading to the perfect pass for many. Next to the big time alley oops and monster throwdowns. Passes like that are probably the next best thing when it comes to sweet looking NBA highlights. And welcome back to our coverage of game three on 2K Sports. And a look now at the five for the Timberwolves to start the fourth quarter. We got Anthony Edwards. He’s out there with Dante Devincenzo, Mquille Alexander Walker out there with Nas Reed. And it’s Clark in at the four. And Minnesota with possession here after the Warriors picking up a basket. just a moment ago. Basket’s good. Well, I like to see when guards come inside. Denzo trying to send a message with that hoop stolen by Reed. Now, here’s Alexander Walker tightly guarded and the shot goes down. Alexander Walker’s got nine points now in the second half. Warriors trail by 17. Outside Curry, the floater. No good there. The Timberwolves shooting a solid 53% from the floor. Here’s Devenenzo lays it up and banks it in. Devenzo’s got four points this quarter. Defensively, they’ve got to get more bodies in the paint. That’s three straight field goals from below the free throw line. Kaminga with a screen on Denzo. And here’s Curry for three. rebounded by the Timberwolves. And even after airtight defense like that, you still just expect him to hit those kind of shots. It’s picked off now. Moody outside. Curry puts up a three. That won’t go either for Curry. And it’s Edwards with the ball for the Minnesota Timberwolves. A great fourth quarter. Just give it up two points. Shoot. And the first one at the line is good. And Minnesota making a change here. May not checked in. And both free throws good for Edwards. And Steve Kerr calls timeout, rallying his guys to make sure they all know the plan. Warriors trail by 21 on the wing. Curry. Deven Chenzo covering and he’s going for the lob. Now here’s Moody. He’s covered closely. And that time also a miss shot. Devincenzo on the wing. Oh, and makes it with the kiss. But D hasn’t been quick enough to react to the ball inside. That’s helped cause this run. Now here’s Moody. Guarded by Edwards outside. Curry takes the three. Pure from three-point range. Curry’s got 25 points off a pass. Steph Curry. That one is always going in or almost always going in for three. Deanchenzo and count it. Now five for seven. Perfect from the field this quarter. Got to wonder how long he can sustain it. Pass to post. Back to Curry. Shoots over to Venzo. Boy, he clanks that one off the back iron and it falls. Curry’s got five points in the quarter. Huge night for Curry in a great rhythm thus far. That’s always bad news for the team he’s facing. Reed sets a screen. Here’s Edwards. That shot no good. Nice D from Moody. Here’s Payton. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. Nikil Alexander Walker picks one up. And he knocks down the first one. And the Warriors making a change here. But Jimsky’s checked in. Mike Connley’s checked in for Minnesota. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. Minnesota leading by 19 here in the fourth quarter. Just under two and a half gone by. Here’s Edwards and Edwards slams it in. Edwards is a load to stop on the bounce simply because he’s got a football players bill. Over to the left wing to the paint. Here’s Curry. Basket counts. Curry’s got 29 points and he’s coming off a huge performance and his confidence couldn’t be any higher and his coach knows that too. Showing no signs of slowing or cooling down. They’re going to ride him as far as he can take him. Now here’s Devincenzo Reed in the post. He’s watched by Kuminga. Just five to shoot from downtown. The rebound by Payton. Payton’s got his fifth rebound in this one. Pass to Curry outside for Jimky to the left wing. Reed against Kaminga outside. Curry drops in the layup for two. Curry’s got 17 points here in the second half. Despite the play of the team, I think he’s had an outstanding game. He’s really done well here. Reed sets a screen. Here’s Edwards. Man, it’s in there. Edwards has got 40 points. His big night continues. He is fueling this lead. Outside Curry, Alexander Walker grabs the board. Alexander Walker’s got six rebounds here tonight. Pass to Connley. Conley. Reed sets a screen. Jacks up a three. That one’s good. And it’s Connley who picks up the assist. This is what it’s been since halftime. Remarkable results from downtown. Boy, it’s been a three-point barrage. They came out gunning and have not stopped. Outside PJsky. He drops it from range. You know, Steph Curry is not always looking for his next shot. He’s got a selflessness about him that’s uh inspiring. Now, here’s Edwards. Sh two. That one’s off. And the Warriors make some changes. Green comes in for Moody. And Butler is subbed in for Payton. Rudy Gobear has checked in for the Timberwolves. Julius Randall comes in for Alexander Walker. And the second free throw is good. I love the intensity he’s brought to the floor since halftime. In constant attack mode, Curry passes to Butler. Outside, Kaminga back to Curry. Up top of Jimky. Dven Chenzo covering six on the shot clock. Pajimsky shot is good. Pajimski’s got five points now in the quarter. Pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Edwards finds Goar outside. Devincenzo. Outside for Randall three-pointer. Here’s Gobear. Randall outside. Pass to Connley. Oh, there’s the alley and stolen by Green. Outside Curry over to the wing outside. Butler. And that one drops. Butler’s got 23 points. This right here, this is how you want to play the game with passion, with energy, just great hustle play right there. Now here’s Gobear. Connley passes to Randall over Butler. Once again off the mark by Minnesota. Warriors trail by 16. Oh, look at Butler. Focused as always. They’re not messing around. Five of their last six buckets have come from the interior. And Chris Fence calls timeout here. He’s looking to make some very important adjustments here. Yeah, they’re hoping to turn things around with this timeout. Yeah, you know, they had to do something, anything to stop this run. You can’t just let it go on any longer. Heels checked in for Kaminga. The Timberwolves also with a sub. McDaniels checked in. All right, let’s check in with Alli Leforce. I was able to listen in on what Chris Finch was going over with his team. He said to his guys, “This one is not over yet. You have worked hard for this lead and we are not about to give it up now. Stay focused and keep hustling.” Back to you guys. And Ally, thanks. Connley finds Randall. And here’s Edwards down low. It’s stolen by Green. Outside heel. McDaniels with a steal. The shot by Connley. No good. I’ve been in this position. Your team is up. You want to drive in the dagger. He may be a little overeager. Here’s Green. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. And Green is so clever at forcing the D’s hand. Got to be careful how you guard him inside. Free throw. Good. Green. big. And both free throws good for Green. The Timberwolves lead by 12. Pass to Randall. to win the drought. And it goes out of bounds. Last touch by Butler. And it’s time to take another look at that powerful block. You know that block has him and his teammates all pumped up. That is what playoff basketball is all about. Picked by Gobear. Now here’s Edwards. He’s guarded closely. The Timberwolves again can’t hit. Golden State has gone two of four from the perimeter here in the fourth quarter. Heels and a great assist by Butler as that one goes. Butler’s got four assists in the game. Looks like we’re starting to see a pattern here. Not afraid to get in the paint and get wet. Well, I agree with you. Four of their last five baskets have been exactly of that variety. Now, here’s Go. Shot from the top of the key. Edwards. That’s good. Edwards has got 43 points. And you know, succeeding in the catch and shoot game will really help Edwards set up his drives to the hoop. Curry against Randall. Drive by Curry. I love their work on the glass. They hold a nice rebounding advantage. Yeah, they brought the sandpaper edge to their attack. Really fighting and scrapping inside. A lot of grit and grind with these guys. Nice big finish, man. Watch out now. Look out below. Edwards rising to the rafters. And how about our AT&T 5G slam cam? Couldn’t have captured that play any better. Set it up. Here’s Golden State. They’re on a 13-5 run. Green with a screen on Connley. Curry at the rim. And you know, coaches will take possessions like that all day long. Phenomenal use of the screen there. And it’s Connley with the ball for the Timberwolves. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s on Stephen Curry. Tell you what, Connley may not be in his prime from an age standpoint, but I tell you, he is still tremendous as a four leader general and he’s a stabilizing presence on this team. First one falls for him. And Connley is a guy that leads by example and as a result his teammates respect and trust him completely. and Connley drops them both. We’ve got a minute 48 left in the fourth quarter here. Free throw line jumper. A tad short, but it’s good off the front iron. Curry’s got 35 in the game. Yeah, another day, another virtuoso performance from Curry. It never ends. The shot by Connley. No good. You know, he’s just chucking it up from distance this quarter. If you’re going to do this, especially in the second half, you better make it. Butler finds Curry. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Rudy Goar picks one up. And Curry’s really a master at drawing contact. The defense has to be careful when defending him. and he makes a first. Boy, how consistently good Steph’s been over the course of his career. Really remarkable. What a teammate. What a leader. What a player. push on the miss. Push on the miss. And so he hits both. The Timberwolves lead by 10. Here’s Goar pass to Connley. Outside McDaniels and here’s Randall Butler covering healed on the wing. Now Green Curry with it. He shoots again and Connley grabs the miss. There’s 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Pass to Randall. Now here’s Edwards. shoots from the baseline. Ooh, a little luck that time as it drops. Edwards got 47 points. Yeah, they blocked out the noise, blocked out the distractions, kept on grinding, and this is their reward. Boy, a fantastic performance. And I tell you something, I mean, you get roadkill, that’s always a challenge in the NBA no matter what. And they got it done. Randall against Butler. Connley passes to McDaniels. Connley. A screen on Curry. Pass to Randall. Just five on the clock. Go. Oh, he hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points. And so it’s Minnesota easily grabbing this one. Things were looking scary for them coming into tonight, but with this win, they’re right back in it. They showed a lot of character and a lot of heart. Many experts go on the court for Minnesota. Conley and Edwards of the guards. Julius Randle is out there with Goar and it’s McDaniels at the three. Good work there as it goes. Kaminga’s got eight here in the quarter. And a closer look here at the hustle stats for the Warriors. From the very start of this game, they have been giving the ball handlers trouble, using good pressure to force turnovers and get steals. And how about also the ability to contest shots. They’re staying attached and contesting and coming away with blocks as well. The shot by Butler, nobody around. And a great assist by Curry as that one goes in. Curry’s got three assists now in this one. Outside Edwards Goar with a screen on heel. Edwards kicks to Gobear. Shot clock at five. Here’s Randall. A rebound by Heel. Defense kind of rolled the dice there. And I’m a little surprised it ended up going their way with the miss. Bounce pass. Butler healed against Edwards. Pass to Curry. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Heel with the bucket. You should be looking for him. What a great pass. Now here’s Connley. Now here’s Goar. Outside Connley. Here he goes outside for Randall. Fires from way outside. Green with the rebound. Warriors leading by 12. Up top, Curry by Connley. Outside Kuminga. No good from outside. Minnesota’s gotten cold from deep in the second quarter. Just two of six from long range. Conley kicks to McDaniels. Randle from outside. Hits it from three-point range. Randle’s got it back down to single digits for the Timberwolves. They’re having more success from three-point range here in the second after a rough first quarter from deep outside. Kaminga fires high post and there’s Stephen Curry on the assist by Kaminga. 16 points for Stephen Curry. This man is on fire. His team is winning and it doesn’t get better than that. Here’s Go Bear. Warriors with the rebound. Greens got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Curry looking it over. Butler from outside. Rebound. Minnesota. Go Bears got six rebounds in the game. Curry against Conley. Conley sets a screen for McDaniel. Pass to Randall and he drops in the layup off the glass. Randle’s got five. And the defense cannot underestimate Randle’s strength. Pushes right through the contact and gets the shot. Now here’s Butler. 12 points for him. Back to Curry. Green with a screen on Con. Oh, Curry so accurate from three-point range. Talk about putting a team on your back. He has been dominant this quarter and I don’t think they are winning without him. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. He’s made the decision he wants to huddle up with his guys. And some changes here for the Warriors. Payton comes in for Kaminga. And it’s Moses Moody in for Curry. Dante Devenenzo. He’s checked in for Minnesota. up top. Go Bear headed by Green. Count it. And the Warrior lead has been cut down now to just 10 on the basket from Mike Connley. And he’s been a terrific point guard in this league for a long time. Mike Connley just knows how to play. Now here’s Moody defended by Devenenzo. They kick out to heal. Pocket six. Green the screen from downtown. Another three for Golden State. And boy has he picked it up since the start of the second. His shots now starting to fall. Pass to Devenenzo. Connley sets a screen for Devenenzo. Back to Connley. Great pass to set up the layin. And that’s now seven points for Mike Connley. I mean, the number of points they’ve scored in the paint already here is eye opening. Butler pass it to Moody and the slam by Moody. There is the allaround game of Butler. A nice assist to cash in on that possession. Conley kicks to Devenzo. Now here’s McDaniels. Guarded closely and three off the mark. And here’s Heel. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. This is the most they’ve led by 13 points. Pass to Green. Now Moody. He has five to the paint. Here’s Payton. Green dishes to Payton. A second chance effort. Hard earned by Butler. No doubt about the consistency when it comes to scoring the basketball for him tonight. A real nice lift for their offense. And a lot of contact on that one. So he’ll shoot two here. This is his first free throw of the game. That free throw no good. good on the second free throw. 5 seconds left in the first half of the game. Butler way outside and no luck with that time on the buzzer beater. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors with a 14-point lead as we bring the quarter to a close. What a night they’ve had in terms of their shooting. Everything dropping in for them. We’ll get you back to the action after this break. Where’s the perimeter, D? I see no sense of urgency. And those boys are getting scorched. Big fella, you might be able to guard the perimeter better right now. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let’s take a step back. Looking at the series breakdown for the Warriors. A dream start. Two wins on the road and now a chance to go up three zip at home. Well, they’re definitely sitting in a good place, but they got to watch their backs. Yeah, over. Thank you for being with us. Now, let’s send it to Kevin Harland for the second half tip. And we return again with more playoff action from the Western Conference semifinals. Curry has been sensational. Man, he’s been running wild on him through that first half. Absolute dynamite on offense. If they don’t change their approach in the second half, let’s just say his success will continue. And we’re back with you all set to bring you more action from game three. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and PJski. Green is out there with Jimmy Butler. And it’s healed in at the small forward position. That’s Steve Curr’s five as we get into the second half. Now here’s Butler. Butler is just hard to guard inside. really good at using his body to create contact against the defense at the basket. The Warriors have been on target from the free throw line. They’re five of five in that department. First one falls for and free throws have never really been an issue for Butler. Makes a living at the line. And so Butler nails both of them. No surprise there. He’s about as automatic as it gets from the strike. I hope I didn’t jinx him. Pass to Randall. Back to Conley. Here’s Randall. Elbow shot. Goes back up and he lays it up and in. Randle’s got his third bucket of the night. And how about the touch there inside? And that that’s where Randall likes to get the ball and you can see why. Green in the post. Go bear on him. No coverage. That’s got five points so far. They’ve given up a lot of three-pointers here today. Conley finds Edwards to the inside. Here’s Goar blanketed by the D. fights to the rim for the layup. Seven points for Rudy Goar. And you can try to stop Goar in there. Outside Butler. Back to Curry. Takes the three. That one doesn’t drop. And he might have thrown himself off when he saw how much space he had from three. Two free throws coming up. And they call the shooting foul. And this is Edward’s game. When he’s aggressive and trying to score, it really puts a lot of pressure on the defense. On the night, he’s gone two for two with the strier. First free throw is good. And what you love about Edwards is how intense he is. Guy plays hard every minute he’s on the floor. and Edwards drops them both. Third quarter here, over a minute and a half into it. Butler against Randall. Well, their pass to Kirby on the wing. Green still scoreless. Six on the shot clock. Butler against Randle. And so it looks like the Warriors will retain possession here. And that kind of stifling effort on defense needs another look. Well, they didn’t make it this far by giving up easy ones. And now their defense is in overdrive. And now around 2 minutes gone by in this half out of halftime. Not the way you want to execute. Just one of five from the field outside. Edwards gets in there. Connley with the assist. Conley has got three assists tonight. And this has been a nice start to the second half. They’re three out of four in a rhythm on the offense right now. And that’s out of bounds. It was last touched by McDaniel. Great instincts from him to get a hand on that pass and tip it out. Yeah, I think he was hoping to maybe even get the steal, but I agree he’s still got a good outcome. Not quite 2 and 1/2 minutes played here in the second half. 11 ft away. tries again and there’s the bucket as Green finishes it off and the Warriors lead by 12. Relentless. You will never outwork dream the pass to Edwards. Edward. Oh, a little extra right there from Edwards. Oh my. What a huge flush by Edwards. Showing off right now. And that last look brought to you by the AT&T 5G Slam King. Warriors leading by 10 outside Butler. Back to Curry. Curry getting it done inside. And this has become expected from Curry. Everyone knows how dangerous he is at getting to his spots and capitalizing. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. And coach has decided they need a moment to talk things over. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Timberwolves trail by 12. And here is Connley. Seven points in the game. No one near Edwards as he lets it block and good as it just snugs right down through the net. And he’s doing everything he can offensively to lift them out of this hole. But I’m not sure his hot shooting can do it alone. Pass to Connley. Second half here. We’re just over three and a half minutes into it. Had a chance there to cut it to single digits, but it’s off target. Here’s Pajki. Edwards defending. Curry with it. 21 points in the game. And Green slams it in. A big part of his game offensively. Green fantastic at the pick and roll game. To go Bear and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s his third foul of the game. on defense. The Warriors Connley finds Goar. Timberwolves passing it around. Goar with a screen on Heel from McDaniels and finished off by Goar. And good luck keeping Goar off the boards. He has a tremendous nose for the ball. Outside Green to Curry. Curry. Oh, the concentration. Yeah, three consecutive field goals have come right at the rim. The D had better start buckling now. And here’s Gobeared by Green. Oh, the lobair takes the alley pass and dunks it down. And sometimes it’s as simple as this. Throw it up anywhere near Go and he’s going to finish it. Here’s Curry. 23 points in the game. Pass to Pajimski. Six to shoot. Three-pointer Butler. Oh, Butler training the three. And that’s an encouraging sign from Butler. He’s a capable three-point shooter. He’s just very selective. Go with the screen inside out to the wing. Go with a screen for McDaniel. Draymond Green grabs the miss. Green’s got rebound number eight here tonight in the game. If they want to come back, he needs to be better. Curry gets inside and lays it in. How do you stop Curry? Well, in a short answer, you can’t. And George Randle bringing it up now for the Timberwolves. Down by 15. McDaniels passes to Randall. Outside, Edwards fires from deep. Rebound by Butler. Warriors leading by 15 now. Poinski. He’s got five with the shot. And there’s a foul. It goes on Jimmy Butler. That’s foul number two for him. Jonathan Kaminga. He’s checked in for Buddy Heel. Minnesota also with the sub. Alexander Walker, he’s checked in for McDaniels. Timberl 15 outside Edwards. It’s rebounded by Kaminga. Warriors have gone seven of 13 in the third quarter so far. Just above 50%. Green finds Butler and here is Curry. The kick outside to Butler. Green with a screen on Randall. Butler from outside. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. And the great shooters know when they’ve got enough opening to go for the three. I didn’t think it was a bad choice on that possession. Guy is just ridiculous. He is just an absolute surgeon when he has the ball. This man is surgical. There is no way to slow him down when he wants to score. Here’s Butler following the basket by Julius Randle. Back to Curry. Lets the three fly. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Butler’s got his fourth assist with that last one here tonight. After a tremendous first quarter, three trays, he’s put in another. Now here’s Conley. He’s got seven. Jimmy Butler pulls it in. Warriors leading by 16. Green inside. Edwards defending. Curry against Con. Now the season veteran in the lead. Curry continues to be efficient, especially when it comes to shooting. And a moment to look at the scoring approach in terms of where the points are coming from for the Warriors. The name of the game in the modern NBA is making threes, spacing the court, and that’s exactly what they are doing tonight. And you also have to applaud how they’ve attacked the interior in this game. A lot of points happening for them in the paint tonight. Free throw good Curry. And you know with Curry, what impresses me most is his efficiency. That’s not something we normally see in a high volume jump shoot. Here’s what Minnesota’s going with right now. Reed comes in for Goar and it’s Dante Dvenensenzo in for Edwards. Stephen Curry hits them both. And if they continue, Kevin, their outstanding free throw shooting, that’ll help them seal the game. And we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch looking for a breather and maybe just one or two things to talk about. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s jacked in. Minnesota with the ball. It’s an 18-point game now. Here is Connley. He’s defended by Pompeki. Down to five on the shot clock. And he could not get that one to go. Lot of contact. and he’ll go to the line for two. It’s on Jimmy Buff. You know, one thing you have to admire about Randall is his hunger to get better. He He is a real leader who leads by example. That free throw good from Randall. Both free throws good from Randall. And even though they’re down, they are putting on a show at the free throw line. Pass to Moody. Back to Pajki. Here’s Posted by Reed. And that’s a foul called on Nas Reed. That’ll be his second foul of the game. You know what? Tried to step in and cut him off, but just didn’t get there quick enough. Now here’s Moody. He’s guarded closely. Pass to post right side. Butler four on the shot clock. And this quarter he has clearly been off the mark. No good that time. And the stroke definitely lacking confidence this quarter. Nothing on target. Handle with the ball. Yes, it is. For that is a bucket. Number five on a five for 11 night. That was a disgusting first half he turned in, but it’s been night and day for him after the break. Pass to post. Now here’s Butler. Now here’s Moody. Five points in the game. Here’s Post and he comes it down and it’s Connley with the ball for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Randall with a screen for Connley. Pass to Alexander Walker. Now here’s Randall defended by Butler. Butler against Randall. The rebound by Post. Post has got five rebounds tonight. Butler deciding where to go with it. Now Moody defended by Deanzo. Shot clock at six. The 19 ft shot. Moody’s shot is off. Timberwolves trail by 16 to the right side. Now here’s Conley. He’s defended by Pompki. And this is the right play by Connley. Sticking with the motion and ensuring he gets to the line. This is his first chance at the line tonight. Two shot. That’s good from Connley. Still a solid point guard in this league. When Connley is healthy, he makes a considerable impact on both ends. Payton, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Minnesota also with the sub. Clark’s checked in. And so Mike Connley nails both of them. 114 left in the third quarter. Pass to post. Now here’s Kaminga. Golden State moving it around. Here’s Butler and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. You love how competitive Butler is. He insists on taking his shot despite the foul. And this is his second trip to the line tonight. That free throw good from Butler. And it’s been an outstanding game for them at the free throw line, not missing their chances when they get them. Dante Deanzo, he’s checked in for Mike Conley. as the second one misses. Timber rolls trail by 15 on the wing. De Venenzo covered by Payton. Pass to Alexander Walker. Randle against Kaminga. Randle with the bucket. Randle’s got 10 points here in the second half. I just love when teams make it work down low. Butler with the ball. He’s defended by Randall. Randall against Butler over Randall. And the Warriors miss again. And and he has definitely been struggling in this quarter. Yeah, he needs to mix things up on the offense. He simply just can’t keep missing shots at this rate because he’s destroying his teammates. beats the pusher. Wow. Yeah, that’s just an amazing play to get that ball off in time. Talk about being poised under pressure. Big time shot from him there. It’s been all about Stephen Curry for the Warriors. He comes away with 11 points in the quarter and is showing no signs of fatigue. We’ve got more in store for you right after this. And a quick look now at the State Farm assist of the game. And the winner today, the big fella here with the sweetest of dimes. What a plus it is to have a post player who’s got this ability to find. I feel like we’ve seen more slick passing big man in the league today than we’ve ever seen. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. So on the floor for Minnesota, Dante Deanzo. He’s out there with Edwards. Then it’s Nas Reed. Then it’s Nir Alexander Walker. And it’s Clark in at the fourman position. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut down to just eight points with the bucket from Edwards. Outside Curry down low and he stops it on a pass to set him up. This man sees everything on the court. Curry just dropping dimes out there. Now Walker with the ball. Payton’s there. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Yeah, good job to take it right at the shoot. And that one misses. and he’s good on the second. They are making it look easy at the free throw line here in the second half. Curry on the wing, defended by Devenenzo. It’s stolen by Edwards. And now Minnesota on the fast break. And it’s Alexander Walker in the corner. Nails the wideopen jump shot. And the offense has just operated really smoothly here in the open floor. And they need to use that momentum drawing their way back via fast break points. Now here’s Curry pass to post. They set the pick. Payton outside. Puts up a deep three. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. Edwards got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. It hasn’t been his best game. His team is still doing just enough to be up. Clark kicks to Edwards. The rebound by Post. Most has got six rebounds now in the game. And one of the problems in the first half, that shotty work at the free throw line. They needed to fix that. And they’ve been much improved since the break. Take a break. Big break. Two shots. They throw good. That works. That one is no good. Warriors leading by five. Peyton outside. Outside Curry. Kinga. A screen on Devenenzo. Pass to Moody. And here is Kaminga. doesn’t get it to drop for him. Some solid defense from Clark. It’s Edwards on the wing. We’re in the fourth quarter here. Just under 2 and 1/2 minutes gone. Jenzo against Curry. Here’s Alexander Walk. The Timberwolves again can’t hit. Kaminga dishes to Ker. Golden State moving the ball around. Pass to Kaminga. Back to Payton. There’s the pick. They can use a bucket. The three. Good on the three-point shot and the Warriors lead by eight. And what kind of defense was that? You can’t give up wide open threes like that. What are you doing? Curry against Devenzo. Pass to Alexander Walker. On the wing, Devenzo Reed with a screen on Kirk. Here’s Devenenzo. Gets some rim on the way in and the bucket’s good. And the lack of effort to fight over the screen there makes that an easy shot. Yeah, as soon as these guys make contact, they are just disappearing like they’re not even there. You got to show some fire and keep defending. The knees just kind of stick to the side. There’s a reason, VA. The lead is what it is right now. Yeah, it’s going to take better rim protection than that if they’re going to climb out of this hole. Take break free throw good. Edwards Jackson Davis has checked in for the Warriors. Pompeki’s coming in for Payton. And a change for the Timberwolves. Conley’s checked in. And Edwards drops him both. He’s put in the work and worn down the defense. Now they’re getting a little sloppy and it’s allowed them to get to the line more this half. Pajki with it outside Curry over Conley and the Warriors take on two more. Well, Curry’s accuracy makes the mid-range easy pick as he just goes up, nails the shot with ease. Connley feeling it out pass to Reed. Here’s Alexander Walker. Defended by Moody. Low block shot on the way. That’s good. And the Warrior lead is cut down to just six points with the basket from Reed. Coming off a big game. His confidence couldn’t be higher. And coach knows it. When it ain’t broke, leave it alone until someone stops him. Just let him roll. Now here’s Kaminga. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s Pompeki. Gets the three-pointer to fall and the Warriors lead by nine. Proving once again, he is one of the best shooters in the league. Connley against Curry outside. Edwards fires the three. That’s in there. Connley with the assist. Connley has got his seventh assist of the game with that last one. Curry on the wing for by Connley. Curry on the wing. Pass to Jackson Davis and it’s out of bounds. The Warriors able to retain possession here. He’s checked in for Trace Jackson Davis. Dante Denzo. He’s checked in for Minnesota. Pocket two. Kojimki. No good on the quick three. And he didn’t punish them for the weak coverage there, but they can’t count on him to continue missing. Clark the pass to Conley. And here’s Edwards. defended by Moody. Back to Conway. Takes it off the glass. And now just a four-point Warrior lead. And how about the grit and determination in the post. I mean, essential qualities to have late in a close game. Now, here’s Curry off the mark from 16 ft out. You can’t look at the result of that shot. They’ll take that whenever they get it. Yeah, it’s a great look for him. One they’ll try and manufacture again. Those are the shots you want him to take. Pass to Reed. Shoots over Curry. Reed misses. Warriors leading by four. And Curry has it in the corner. Oh, Curry. Good from the corner. And another one. That’s five total threes on the night from him so far. Oh, here’s Edwards defended by Moody. and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. Golden State’s gotten three of their six three-pointers to fall here in the fourth outside. Curry pass to Penski beyond the arc. It’s Clark with the rebound and not allowing the shooter even an inch of breathing room on that one. Sure. Don’t think twice about shooting against him next time. Oh, here’s Edwards. Oh, good on the triple. One made three going for the game. Does he focus closer in? Let’s see. Oh, here is Edwards. He’s covered closely. Connley finds Edwards. Clark outside. Here’s Reed and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. It goes on Moses Moody. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. Shoot two. Changes for Golden State. Draymond Green. He’s checked in for Kavan Looney. Jimmy Butler comes in for Kaminga. And it’s Buddy Heel in for Moses Moody. Minnesota also making some changes. Randall comes in for Clark. And it’s McDaniels in for Dante Devincenzo. He hits one and misses one. Each at the line. Warriors leading by six. Heel dishes to curb. Pass to Pajki. Lock at six. Here’s Heel over Edwards. Heel can’t hit. And here is McDaniel. Now here is Connley from outside the arc. Drills it from outside. Connley’s got five points in the quarter. Efficiency has been the hallmark right now down the stretch. He is making the most of his opportunities. Randall against But here’s Curry with the three. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Butler’s got assist number five here tonight. Nobody answers the call better than Stephen Curry. Here’s Reed. Here’s Connley. It’s good. And it’s his six make against 11 attempts. Warriors leading by four. To the middle. Here’s Curry. And the layup is good. Curry’s got 40 points. This is what Curry does best. He is so creative at getting into rhythm and staying hot. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. It’s a chance for them to regroup and refocus. Go. He’s checked in for the Timberwolves. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David. Hey guys, here’s what Chris Finch went over with his guys during the break. Now, coach talked all about fouls in that huddle. He reminded them, “Play defense with our feet. Beat them to the spots. Hands straight up. Don’t give them a chance to blow the whistle on us.” Back to you guys. All right, David. Thanks. Now, here’s Edwards. That one’s not going to go. Great tea that time from Green. Here’s PMski. Edwards defending pass to Curry. You never want to foul Curry. He’s pretty much the best free throw shooter ever. And the first one goes Stephen Curry hits them both. And here’s Edwards. He’ll bring it up for Minnesota. And finished off by Edwards. It’s simple, guys. Keep getting Edwards the ball and just let Ant Butler Here’s Curry. Rebound. Minnesota. Handle’s got nine rebounds now tonight. Inside Edwards. What a shot by Edwards. Such a gutsy player. Edwards wants to be the guy taking big shots. Outside curve for three. Good. And Potter gets the assist. Butler’s got his sixth assist on the night. And that’s just cold blooded right there. He’s taking no prisoners. This is what you expect from him. Just coming alive and dominating in effortless fashion here in the four. And here are the Warriors now. Anthony Edwards unable to get his last shot to go in. And it’s in there. With such a smooth and quick release, Field doesn’t need much space to knock it down from mid-range. Timber rolls trail by nine. Edwards with it now. Green defending. A muscle from Edwards. 59 seconds left in the game. Pass to Curry. Outside Butler. Back to Curry. Let it go with a three. Another three for Golden State. Saw the opportunity to put this away. Just did not turn it down. And that score probably slams the door for any would be comebacks. And look, they put this one to bed. Oh, here is Edwards. Now Connley shoots it up and he gets the friendly spin and that one drops. That’s 36 points for Anthony Edwards. Now Kirk shot by heel. Nobody around. Another three for Poland State. And you can sense that these fans, these players, they are ready to celebrate. It’s always nice to perform like this, especially in front of the faithful home crowd. Here’s PMski. 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter. And that’s an intentional foul. you know, give him credit for still battling here down the stretch, but I think it’s too little too late. And now we’ve got the intentional foul. First free throw is good and that will put them up by nine. And both free throws good for Curry. calm and cool and his free throws put a bow on this one. Nice way to finish the game off. Here’s Reed. And so they choose to intentionally foul. He drops the first one and that stretches their lead to eight. Second one is good both at the line. It’s a nine-point ball game and the Timberwolves call time. 7 seconds left to play here in the fourth. Guys, what do you think? And I don’t think they’ll be able to climb out of this hole. And I’m sure coach is encouraging them to play to the final whistle. Then they can get out of here. and it’s Michael Connley with a three and he commits the intentional foul. He doesn’t hit the first and that was the one they really wanted. He’s got one more though. He’s able to hit this and and taking a technical there is the last thing you Curry against Connley. Get stolen by Heel. In transition, here come the Warriors on the court for Minnesota. Connley and Anne are the one and the two. McDaniels out there with Julius Randall and it’s Gobear in at the five. Now here’s Curry. He’s got 10. Shoots off the step back and the shot’s good. Curry’s got 12. Yeah, mid-range Jays are no problem for Curry. Defenders can forget about his confidence from there, too. McDaniels passes to Connley. Outside Edwards, he’s got it. Just two of seven from the field though. Well, with his skill and confidence with the ball, if you put him in position, he’ll reward you. Outside Green pass to Curry from the ark. Oh, Curry just nasty from downtown. That’s his second triple this quarter. I guess he’s left that dry spell behind. Connley passes to Edwards. What’s the to the middle? Here’s Goar outside. McDaniels. Pick by Gobear. McDaniels can’t hit. Man, that’s his shot. Maybe he was too wide open. And he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. Rudy Goar picks one up. A prolific score dating back to his college days. Heel just understands how to generate points. Shooting two. That’s good from Heel. When you talk about the best shooters in the NBA, Buddy Heel has to be in the conversation. Heield hits them both and it’s Connley with the ball for the Timberwolves. It’s Edwards on the wing. the baseline. Jay rebounded by Green. Well, he hasn’t had a great night shooting the ball, but they’re in the lead and that’s the only thing that matters. Pass to Curry. Oh, Curry, what a tough finish. Well, when you have a guy scoring like he is, you redraw every play to be about getting him involved. Now Edwards defended by Pachki and here’s Randle. They set a pick. Back to Edwards. Randle finds Edwards and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. Well, we know Edwards has an outstanding skill set, but what makes him truly special is his competitive will and ability to handle high pressure moments. free throw good. Edwards and some changes here for the Warriors. Payton comes in for Curry and Moody is subbed in for Pajki. And both free throws good for Edwards. And he’s showing a little more aggressiveness getting himself to the line here in the second quarter. He’ll passes to Butler. Green with a screen on Randall. Here’s Butler. Rudy Goar with a rebound. Wow. Missed the easy one right there. Right at the rim, but came up empty. Randle against Butler. Randle outside. Shot clock at three. Here’s McDaniels. Book it. And it’s Randall with the assist. Takes a lot of control to hit that mid-ranger. And McDaniels has it outside Green. No luck on that one. Ooh, great D that time from Goar. McDaniels against Peyton. Randle deciding where to go with it. Some solid defense from Butler. Warriors trail by three. Randall with some nice D. And we talk about the importance of protecting the rim right there. Outstanding defense. Pass to Gobear. Connley with the ball now guarded by Butler. And it’s blocked by Butler. You can’t forget about the defensive presence Butler has on the floor. That is a great stop. And that one good. Well, he got to his spot in the mid-range and that’s a shot he’s going to make more often than not. Butler against Randall. Left side healed back to Peyton. Moody from outside. McDaniels with the rebound. Minnesota leading by five. Edwards. the pass to Randall and so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. That’s on Jimmy Butler. And over the years, Randall has stepped up his role. An assertive scoreer and a natural leader. All right, guys. Let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Timberwolves. Well, they’ve set the tone early with their pace. So important to capitalize on transition opportunities and it keeps the defense off balance. And we also got to mention the work they’ve done on the offensive glass, pounding the opposition and coming away with tons of second chance points. The first free throw is good. Yeah, they’re playing a much more physical game here in the second quarter. And the Timberwolves making a change here. Devenzo’s checked in. and Randall drops them both. Certain guys can remake their games to fit the times. Randle’s worked on his right hand and his jump shooting. He’s a much more versatile threat now at the offensive end. Butler, he’s too much close to the rim. And once more this half they find a way to get great position inside. Outside McDaniels Payton with a steel pass to heel. Here’s Butler. The shot off that time. Randall with some nice D. You wonder what the score would be if they weren’t controlling the glass. 116 left in the second quarter. Clock at six. Second chance shot. And that’s two points on the layup. Randle’s got 16 points. They’ve really gotten away from the three-point shot as they’ve pulled out in front. Butler passes to Heel. Here’s Green. Outside Moody outside Peyton. Here’s the three. Knocks it down from distance. Peyton’s got nine points in the quarter. Well, after a silent first quarter, this is who they needed him to be. This is why you never count a guy out. Outside Debenzo outside McDaniels pass to Randall from behind the ark. Drains the triple. Randle’s got 19 points. Keep getting him the ball. He’s been a huge part of this offense. You’d like to let the clock run and take the final shot. Yeah, unless it’s a gimme. There’s no reason to put up an early shot here. Randall against Butler over Randall. Ooh, lands soft on the front of the rim and drops in. He’s got nine and the first half comes to an end. We’ve got a close game going here. Timberwolves ahead. They’re up high five. Well, now we have some time to check in with Ally Leforce. Ally, here with coach Steve Kerr. Your defense struggling to contain them in the first half. How do you remedy it? We got to get back in transition. We got to make them feel us. You know, they’re just running anything they want. We’ve got to at least disrupt the stuff they’re trying to do. Thank you, coach. Thank you, Ally. Good stuff. We will be right back after this break for the beginning of the third quarter. They’ve done a lot of things well, but I look at the second chance points. That’s where they’re doing the most damage, guys. Comes down to one, two right now. They wanted more. Looking at the series breakdown for the Warriors, a dream start. Two wins on the road and now a chance to go up three zip at home. Well, they’re definitely sitting in a good place, but they got to watch their backs. Yeah. Over. And that’ll do it for us. Thanks for stopping by. We’ll head back down to Brian Anderson and crew for the start of the third quarter. Continuing our coverage of the Western Conference semi-finals. Glad to have you back. Julius Randall has been sensational. I like how they control the tempo and play to his strengths. Yeah, he’s found his spots, been patient with his shot selection, and it’s paid off for himself and the team. Curry and Pods make up the back court. Draymond Green is out there with Butler and it’s heel in at the three. And that’s the group for Steve Cerr as we begin the second half. Warriors trail by five. Pass to Pajimsky. Now here’s Curry. How about the intelligence of Curry’s game using the pump fake to get the contact. He’s made all of his free throws to this point. Three of three. And the first one at the line is good. And you can tell being a leader comes naturally to Curry. He sets the tone out there and all his guys follow his lead. And so Curry nails both of them. I’m sure they don’t want to send him to the line. That has to be in their scouting. Randle outside. Go with a screen on Butler. Randle the pass to Gobear. Oh, the tower with the power move with his giant frame. Go sets a good screen and then just pivots into open position outside. Butler. Now here’s Pajki guarded by Edwards. I don’t mind that. I mean, they met him at the rim and temporarily prevented the points. First free throw is Good. It’s both from the stripe. A little over a minute gone here in the second half. Connley passes to Goar. Back to Connley. Nice assist and nice finish. Solid play all the way around. Yeah, a guy with Connley’s consistency is trouble inside. Those high percentage looks are often effortless for him. Pass to Pajimsky and stolen by Goar. outside Connley. Here’s Edwards and the bucket counts and he is on his way to the line. He’ll try to make it a three-point play and this will be his second trip to the free throw line. Find the way. Find the length. Well, you can tell this team looks to Anthony Edwards to set the tone on the floor. His intensity becomes their intensity. And let me tell you, his intensity is always high. Here’s Heel. takes a big high bounce and goes in. Heels got six. Rock solid screen right there. The defender got completely lost. Yeah, you’ve got to lock and trail hard. You can’t allow here’s Conley. Randle with it. Five on the clock. Fires the three. The Warriors pull it in and he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. Pass to Heel. Uses the glass to finish the layup. And now just a four-point Timberwolve lead. And I like whenever Heel attacks inside like this, exploding the defense when they give him these chances. Connley against Heel. Connley. A screen on Curry. and stolen by Green for three. That’s good from Curry on the assist from Green. Curry’s got five points now in the quarter. Minnesota with the ball. They lead by one. Pass to Randall. Randall on the screen. Connley. He’s open. That’s tip. Well, he continues to make the effort, but the results just aren’t there this game. Green and he misses the go-ahead basket. Well, that one didn’t fall, but otherwise they’ve been excellent shooting the ball to start this half. Go not bothered by the D. Well, the strength of Goar allows him to finish through contact better than most guys. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. He’ll take the opportunity to regroup. One of the stories here, Julius Randle, he is getting it done today. Well, he’s having his way inside, so they’ve got to figure it out. Time to talk it over. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Second half here and we’re just over 3 and 1/2 minutes into Good. Pass to Green. Heel with the ball. And Gobear with a block. So good at finding these rejections. Gobear has all the physical tools and razor sharp reflexes as it Edwards for three. Edwards on target and he was dominant in their last outing. And the same thing here tonight. He is in a terrific groove right now. Yeah, for sure. He is just oozing confidence. Since every shot is going in, they should just keep running sets for him. And that’s a foul called on Stephen Curry. That’s his first foul of the game. And great job to establish position and square up. Just a superb read on defense to come up with a block. Oh, you could feel the play off intensity in that block. He’s playing some extra aggressive defense out there. Minnesota leading by six outside. Edwards to the right side, launches it. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Green’s got four rebounds now. It’s Pachki. And that comes off the assist by Green. Green’s got four assists in the game. And for his position, Green has impressive vision with the ball, helping him find the wide open man. Now here’s Gobear outside. Edwards. He shoots it. Edwards can’t get that one to fall. Well, that’s a miss you can live with. I expect they’ll go to it again, especially if the defense continues to concede it. Green against Edwards. Pass to Pajimsky and there’s a 3-second violation. Well, that one stings. In a game where every possession counts, he just gave one away. And the Warriors making a switch here. Kuminga’s checked in. The Timberwolves also with a sub. Alexander Walker’s checked in. Curry against Connley. Outside, Alexander Walker. gets the three to fall. Alexander Walker’s got a sort of defining the term floor general. Connley has total command of this offense. Curry passes to Green and here is Kaminga from the top of the key. Rudy Gobear with a rebound. Goar’s got rebound number 12 now. Tenacity on the glass and here’s Edwards outside. can’t get it to drop. And here’s Kaminga. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. Here’s Green and he gets it to go off the front iron. Green’s got his first points of the night. A pleasant surprise from Draymond there. I mean, I love when he looks for his offense. Pass to Edwards. Here’s Edwards cutting inside. Doesn’t go that time. Green with the defensive effort. Warriors trail by four. Right side. Kuminga. Alexander Walker grabs the board. Yeah, those shots from him are certainly not helping their case. Inside Edwards and man wanting it more. Well, Edwards is such a strong player, skilled at absorbing contact and still finishing. Curry against Connley down low. Here’s Butler and his fifth basket. Now five for eight. Looking comfortable out there. Assertive move. You can tell the game’s heating up a bit. Connley passes to Edwards. Guess great play by Connley to set it up. Edwards has got 21. Well, he’s just dominating right now. If his teammates are smart, they’ll keep getting him the ball. And here’s Butler outside. And it’s Goar with a rebound. Go’s got 13 rebounds in the game. Glass eating passes to Randall. Go with a screen on Butler to the paint and stolen by Green. Butler with the ball. He’s picked up by Connley. Butler’s shot is good. Yeah, and Butler pretty scary when he gets out in transition. The Timberwolves lead by four. Pass to Edwards. Top of the key and another basket for Minnesota. Well, something changed for him at halftime. He’s been more solid on the offensive end. Outside Kaminga. on the wing. Curry, he’s guarded by Connley. They get it back. Curry no good. Part of why they have this lead, they’re doing the little things out there to the inside and go bear with the stuff. Well, that’s why you feed Goar near the rim. He makes the most of those easy opportunities. Curry passes to Green. outside. Pajki to the paint. Oh, Gob Bear with a steal. Curry against Randall. Off target. That would have pushed the lead to double digits. Green against Goar. Green. The pass to Curry. Curry at the rim. Yeah, another day, another virtuoso performance from Curry. It never ends. Minnesota leading by six. Outside Edwards. Connley passes to Alexander Walker. The three is up. That one’s good. And it’s Connley who picks up the assist. Connley’s got six assists in the game. Golden State has gone two of three from outside so far in the third quarter. Pass to Butler. And here is Kaminga. He’s got five down low. Oh, go Bear with a steal. Connley against Curry. Connley passes to Randall. Butler with a steal. Outside. Kaminga. And he can’t get that one. Nice deep from Alexander Walker. Green against Randall. A minute 35 left in the third quarter. Just five to shoot. The Warriors pull it in. Pass to Pajimsky. Now here’s Green. Not a lot of room. They’re doing some good work at the line this half. Had a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the Timberwolves. Well, they’ve clearly been focused on getting the ball inside. And up to this point, the defense has not had an answer. We also got to highlight how on fire they’ve been from three-point land. They’ve continue to capitalize from beyond the ark in this one. And that one falls for Curry. And Minnesota with some changes. Reeds checked in for Rudy Goar. Clark comes in for Anthony Edwards. And it’s Devenenzo in for Mike Connley. Both good from the line that time and Minnesota with possession here. 102 left in the third. Devinzo with a screen on Kaminga. And here’s Clark for three. The rebound by Post. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. And stolen by Clark Woody with it now. Alexander Walker defending. And here they come. Here’s Curry. Drilled from 11 ft out. Curry’s got 28 points for the game. Well, if they can come back and take the lead, this will be because he’s failing. This quarter has been all about him and his offense. And it’s Randall with the jam. And every season, Randall seems to shoulder more of the offensive load. It’s what allows him to dominate sometimes. Curry surveys. Shot clock at six. launches it from deep. Doesn’t go for him. And so it’s the Minnesota Timberwolves closing out this quarter with a seven-point lead. Their key to consistency has been their dominance in the paint. They’ve been the more physical team. We’ll be right back. Steve Cerr with some words for his players. Just picking us apart, right? Guy cuts behind you down the lane. Miscommunication there. They’re cutting behind us. But we got to get solid defensively. Boy, he is not happy with this team’s aggressiveness on defense. Coach Kerr calling his team out on it. gently asking for them to pick it up. They need to if they want to win this one. And welcome back to our coverage of game three on 2K Sports. And a look now at the five for the Timberwolves to start the fourth quarter. Edwards out there with Dante Jvenenzo. Then there’s Nas Reed. Then it’s Aquille Alexander Walker and it’s Clark in the four. Shot is good by Edwards. Well, when Edwards gets this hot, all an opponent can hope to do is limit the damage. Curry from deep three-point land. Reed with the rebound. The Timberwolves lead by seven. To the middle. It’s stolen by Kuminga. Pass the post. And that misses. And he sinks the second. They’re finding a rhythm from the line as they try to cut into this deficit. Denzo against Curry. Dvenenzo. Pass to Reed. Back to Devenenzo. Hits the three-pointer and the Timberwolves lead by nine. Well, good recognition there from Reed to realize that his best decision was to move the ball. Here’s Curry. Nice D from Reed. Well, the Timberwolves shooting 51%. Good clip from the field. Clark no good. The Warriors have gotten just one shot to fall out of three attempts in the fourth. The three from Curry gets rebounded by Minnesota. Edwards has got his fourth rebound in this one. Reed sets a screen, lets the three fly, and again it’s Minnesota with a three. Well, it doesn’t matter where he is on the court. If Edwards likes a look, he’s going to take it. Pass the post. Knocked loose. Alexander Walker with it. Peyton covering. Alexander Walker. The pass to Edwards. Lets it go from deep and the three-pointer goes. Edwards has got 31. Man, they’re having a hard time defending the triple. That’s three in a row. Izzo against Curry outside. Moody right side. Kuminga back to Moody. Four on the clock to end the run. Payton shot is good. Minnesota leading by 13. Third minute of action now gone here in the fourth. Clark. The pass to Alexander Walker. Back to Clark. Takes a three. The Warriors pull it in. Well, with his team leading, he might just want to put that one in his pocket next time. Pass to Curry. Oh, Curry up and in through contact. Well, sometimes you tell players you can have a good game in a loss. You’ve just got to keep doing what you’re doing and the rest of us have to figure it out. Edwards for three. The rebound by Post. Post has got four rebounds now. Curry against IVenzo. outside. Curry out left to the wing. Here’s Post. That drops and it comes off an assist from Curry. Curry’s got his third assist of the night. A shoot for a guard who also is selfless. Curry continues to add to his resume. Now here’s Edwards. Pass to Clark. Curry against Steven Enenzo. Reed for three. The rebound by Moody. Given his range, you’d expect him to capitalize on that open. Here’s Curry. out to the right wing. Here’s Post gets rebounded by Minnesota on the wing. Alexander Walker guarded by Payton. Here’s Edwards. No good. And they can’t put it into the drought. Warriors trail by eight. Here’s Kaminga. And that one is right through the heart and Chris Finch has called timeout. He is not messing around calling them into the huddle. There’s no way coach likes this effort level. They need to refocus. Yeah, you have to take a time out in a situation like this. Stop the bleeding a bit and regroup. Heat. Heat. And some changes here for the Timberwolves. Gobear’s checked in for Reed. Julius Randall comes in for Clark. And Mike Connley is subbed in for Alexander Walker. And from the sideline, let’s catch up with Ally. Over that last break, I got a chance to hear what Chris Finch said to the team. He said, “Keep it going, guys. Ride this wave of momentum. We’re playing great right now, but we can’t let up, guys. Back to you.” All right, Ally. Thanks once again. Now, here’s Randall to snap the cold streak. Back to Devincenzo. Hook it. And it’s Randall with the assist. Denzo’s got five points now in the quarter. Yeah, an underrated passer. Randall has a nice feel for the game and is willing to keep his teammates involved. Back to Curry. The shot right sidekick. Butler surveying the floor. Great D that time from Gobear. Their strong work ethic has been evident on the glass. Really getting after it and being physical. The threeenzo gets the three ball to go and the Timberwolves lead by 11. Coming down the stretch, they’ve leaned on the perimeter game. Well, if you’re looking to get points in a hurry as the game clock’s running down, that’s certainly the way to do it. Curry outside. Pajki hauled in by Devincenzo. The Timberwolves have gone six for 11 here in the fourth quarter. Pass to Go from deep Connley. And again, it’s Minnesota with a three here in the second half. They’re really focused on stretching the floor. Yeah. And where has the defense been? They’ve been content to let them fire away. They’ve got to close out to the arc. Now here’s Pajki inside. Here’s Kuminga. Kuminga soarses in for the slam. Man, he makes it look easy. Yeah, his athleticism more than makes up for his lack of size. Allows him to compete even against bigger guys. Outside Devincenzo. Edwards against Kaminga. outside Edwards. The Timberwolves need to get off a shot here for three. Devincenzo. Domingo pulls it in. Domingo’s got five rebounds in the game. Pass to Curry. There’s the triple and it’s Goar with a rebound. Go’s got a rebound number 15 here tonight. Here’s Edwards. That shot is off. Excellent D there from Kuminga. Warriors trail by 12. On the wing, Curry. Green with a screen on Connley. The three from Curry. The rebound by the Timberwolves. The biggest lead of the game, 15 points. And their physical dominance has been on display. A 10 rebound advantage is a good indicator of how this game has gone. Butler with the ball. Randle’s in his pocket. Butler passes to Curry. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Curry’s got 35. He’s hit a pair of threes each half, making a significant impact. Randle a screen on Curry for three. Connley. Warriors with the rebound. But Jimky’s got four rebounds in the game. Pass to Green. Outside Kaminga Curry against Connley. And here’s Butler outside. Rudy Gobear with a rebound. Go’s got rebound number 17 if you can believe that. Throws it up high. Butler against Connley. Jimmy Butler. So smooth inside. Well, the defense was all over him, but Butler is not someone who gets rattled. And Chris Finch calls timeout here. He wants to make sure they’re purposeful with the game plan. Heels checked in for the Warriors and the Timberwolves also making a change. McDaniels has checked in for Deven Shinsenzo. And so Connley will bring it up for Minnesota. Seven-point differential outside Edwards. Yes, great play by Connley to set it up. Connley, he’s got his seventh assist of the game with that last one. Connley against Curry. Yeah, fearless play from Curry inside. Going up against tough defense and getting fouled while shooting. Then he drops the first. And so Curry nails both of them. Minnesota leading by seven. Outside Edwards. Edwards with some muscle. And sometimes Edwards makes defenses feel helpless. Tough shot there. Green with a screen on Connley. Curry from deep three-point land from beyond the ark and then some. Curry’s got 12 now in this quarter. Timberwolves shooting at 49% so far in the game. Goar against Green. Pass to McDaniels. Picked by Goar. Six on the shot clock. McDaniels can’t hit. I can’t believe he missed that three. Regardless, that’s not a shot the defense should be given. The three from Curry. McDaniels with the rebound. And for the Timberwolves, they’re shooting 47% since the fourth quarter started. Edwards, no good. Warriors trail by six. Healed on the wing. Back to Butler. Pass to Curry. Curry takes it in. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. And defenders really have to respect the shot of Curry and as a result, he’s able to get into the lane with his drives. And once again, Steph gets a trip to the free throw line. He drops the first one and that brings him within five. And so Curry nails both of them. And those were big shots at this point in the game. You can’t afford to leave any points at the line. Here’s Edwards. Warriors with the rebound. McDaniels with a steal. There’s 49 seconds left in the final quarter. Well, McDaniels is a physical player. He doesn’t mind getting roughed up a bit while trying to score. And no good as the first free throw misses. We’ll see if he can hit the second. That’s good. Going one of two from the line. And that puts him up five. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. And a great call on his part. This is the time you want to be in sync right here. There’s 48 seconds left in the game. Here’s Curry. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Those are precisely the looks this team is trying to create. Yeah, quality offense will serve you well in the long run. You can’t settle for bad shots. Edwards finds Randall. Back to Edwards. Left side. McDaniels. Pass to Edwards. Three-pointer. knocks down the long K. So, the Timberwolves will get the first possession. And the starting lineup for the Timberwolves. Conley and Edwards are the guards. Rudy Gobar is out there with Randall. And it’s McDaniels at the small forward position. And that’s what they’re looking for from Edwards. Scoring from all areas of the court, even mid-range keeps the defense honest. Now here’s Butler. Back to Curry. Fires away from way outside. The long distance three is there. And they don’t want to get in a habit of giving him open looks from three. First quarter still, but not who you want to leave open. Curry against Con outside. Edwards. Go with a screen for Edwards. It’s tipped. And here comes the break. Here’s PMski. And that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle. And two shots coming up. It’s on Anthony Edwards. Oh, the officials are all over that one. elbow. The Warriors shooting their first free throws here for the night. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. Pjensky hits them both. And it’s Connley with the ball for the Minnesota Timberwolves. It’s a three-point game. They come into the game following the win on Sunday. Yeah. And in that one, they were aggressive, but also efficient. The exact balance you’re looking to achieve. Well, easy to be efficient on nights like that when everybody has things going. Let’s see if they’re still in the rhythm tonight. So, it’s the Warriors now following the bucket by the Timbers. Heel finds Curry offline with his three. First quarter of play with about a minute and a half gone. And now the latest from our reporter, David. Well, I did get a chance to speak with Steve Kerr a little bit and we talked about the bruising big man Julius Randall. He told me Julius sets the tone for them with his physicality. So, we have to try and match that. You can’t let him bully his way into the lane and get to his spot. You have to make him uncomfortable. Kevin, thank you, David. On the attack, Jimmy Butler playing with that edge. Connley, the pass to Edwards. They set the pick. The Warriors pull it in. Well, that mid-range Jay usually pretty much on the money. Maybe the timing just a little bit off on that one. Back to Green. Pass to Heel. It’s good. He makes his first shot of the game. Buddy does such a great job of preparing his shot even before he gets the handle. A screen on Curry. Connley for three. The rebound by He Warriors leading by five. Here’s Curry. They kick out to Heel. Buries it from three-point range. Heel’s got five points so far. Oh, this is the kind of start they were hoping for. Timberwolves have gone two for four from the field so far. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Knocked loose. They push it up. Four on three. Pass to Curry Latay. Another three for Golden State. And guys, let’s get your take on the hustle stats for the Warriors. And just a great job so far applying pressure defensively. The opposition is on their heels with the ball in their hand. Nightmares clamps thus far. They’ve also done a great job of taking turnovers and producing out of that. Working really hard that they’re not wasting extra chances that they’re creating. shooting their first free throws. First trip to the line in this one. He’s off on the first. And yes, there’s been growth in Julius Randall and his game year after year, adding little things, but this big man focuses on playing to his strengths. And he sinks the second. And so Curry will bring it up for Golden State to Aster Butler. Back to Curry. Green with a screen on Curry from deep three-point land. Rebound Minnesota. It’s Randle with the drive. Gets a couple steps and the mobility of Randall there helps to draw contact. The Timberwolves shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. And we’re now about a minute and a half into the second quarter. Alexander Walker with the ball now. Payton defending. So they take the lead. Reeves got his first three points of the game. Such a critical part of how their offense is going to flow. Things are only working when he seems to be on the floor. So with Butler sitting on the bench, here’s the group that Steve Cerr has on the floor. They’ve got Moody, Jonathan Kaminga out there with Gary Payton, the second and it’s Curry and it’s post in at the five. Timberwolves have gone three and four from the floor here in the second quarter. Reed with a screen on Payton. Pass to Reed. Shoots the three. The Warriors pull it in. Payton’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Quarter two and just under two and a half minutes gone by. Curry against Edwards. And it’s off from three-point range. Golden State’s gone five of 10 from downtown tonight. 50% exactly. Moody with it. Edwards there. Moody the pass to Curry. Just five on the clock with the second effort. Fires the three. Post misses the shot. And they had some boxed coverage that turned into no coverage. Driving in. Here’s Venenzo. Count that one. Venenzo’s got five points now this quarter. Venenzo has to be agile on the interior and that time finds a way to get it done. To the paint. Stolen by Reed. Down low. Here’s why. Out to Edwards. Edwards slashing in and he finishes nicely on the layup. Edwards got the lead up to four now for the Timberwolves. I I love his shot selection today. He set the bar for the rest of the team. Curry pass it to Kaminga from down low. Misses from close range. Yeah, can’t see why he missed that one there. The D’s close but like plenty of room. And here’s Edwards from the arc. Slides through for his seventh basket in 11 tries. They’ve settled into a nice groove offensively here in the second. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants to talk to his guys. Green, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Pompeki’s coming in for Gary Payton. Rudy Goar, he’s checked in for the Timberwolves. Mike Connley comes in for Dante Devenenzo. Warriors trail by seven. Curry with the bounce pass. Pass to Pajki. And here is Moody to the inside. Here’s Kaminga. And again unable to change momentum here. Well, his poor shooting is a big reason that they’re staring at this deficit right now. He needs to get on track if they’re going to find a way to win. And here’s Kaminga. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. And Curry has it in the corner. Connects. The jumper drops. Curry’s got four points this quarter. You cannot leave Curry alone from anywhere. You You got to pick him up at his house if you’re a defender. He just rarely misses. And here’s Edwards from the arc. A three-pointer is right on target and the Timberwolves lead by eight. All these threes they’re giving up have really been the driving force on this run. On the wing, pass to Moody. The three ball. The shot goes in. First shot, first pass. And I like the back and forth here. Showing confidence from range. It seems like they’re going to find out who can make the deepest threes. Right now it’s a shootout. Now here’s Goar out to Connley. Reed with a screen for Connley inside and Reed throws it down. Few guys read the game like Conley. Warriors trail by seven. Now here’s Curry. He’s got 10. It’s stolen by Edwards. And now the fast break. Edwards with the ball and finished off by Edwards. Oh my. What a huge flush by Edwards. Showing off right now. And on the AT&T 5G Slam Cam, you can see how impressive that move was. Golden State’s gone two of four from three-point range so far in the second quarter. And here is Curry Green with a screen on and the officials will call the illegal screen right there. This game is going to get even more out of hand unless they start valuing the basketball. And the Warriors with some changes. Jimmy Butler comes in for Kaminga. And it’s Buddy Heel in for Moody. Timberwolves also changing it up. Randle’s checked in for Reed. And it’s McDaniels in for Nquille Alexander Walker. Oh, here’s Edwards. Pester Randle fires for three. Knocks down the three ball. Randle’s got his third basket of the night right there. Yeah, they’re relying on their three-point shooting and getting pretty good results. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He’s going to have a discussion here on the sideline. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Now Pajimski outside Curry. puts up a deep three. Minnesota with the rebound. Go Bear’s got rebound number five here tonight. Well, after getting off to a great start hitting those first two shots, he’s definitely regressed a little bit in this quarter. It’s deflected. Butler with the steal. A floater and rebounded by McDaniels. Minnesota with the ball. They’re on a 20-7 run. Pass to Edwards. Pajinski grabs the board. Warriors trail by 12 outside. Butler head shot off. Randall with some nice deep. Minnesota’s gone downtown 13 times in this game and they’re just over 50%. Seven of 13 on threes for three. Edwards. Edwards shooting fearlessly from the arc. Boy, has he put his foot on the pedal here this quarter. He’s doing a terrific job in terms of leading their offense. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants a minute here to get things straightened out with this team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Jonathan Kim. A he’s checked in for the Warriors. And the Timberwolves also making a change. Even Jenzo’s checked in. Warriors trail by 15. Outside Butler to halt the run. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. All the energy is on the other side right now and every miss just makes it worse. Well, the other team is scorching hot and they come down on this end and can’t find a way to get the embers going. Now here’s Devenzo. They lead by the biggest margin of the game, 15 points. I mean Kaminga is so physical. He’ll get a lot of these. And let’s quickly check out the scoring breakdown here for the Timberwolves. We’ve got a bunch of this game yet to be played, but they’re shooting it well from the three-point line. That’s got to be a welcome sight. Well, I want to add also the damage that has been done on the inside. It’s a lot of rubble in there, but they’re continuing to go right at the defense. The first one falls. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Here’s Connley. Over to the left wing. Randall against Butler. McDaniels. Passes to Randall. Six to shoot. Goes up on the wing and he buries that one. Drilling the rim on the way down. Randle’s got five points now this quarter. And it’s Butler with the ball. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Down by 15. Pass to Kaminga. and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. And in the first quarter, he was consistently getting to the line and really causing headaches for the D. Haven’t seen that same type of consistency here in the second. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on that one. When you think of Jimmy Butler, his work ethic comes to mind. Notably, how hungry he is to win at all costs. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s jacked in. Reed, he’s checked in for the Timberwolves. Edwards comes in for Dante Devenenzo. So he comes up empty at the line and for him that is an ugly trip to the line. Rarely do you see him do that. Butler against McDaniel. Reed in the post. Back to McDaniel. Off target at the rim. Warriors trail by 15. Here’s Butler. Edwards with the block. And the athleticism of Edwards helping on defense, capable of getting up to block shots. Payton, he’s checked in for Moses Moody. Green passes to Butler. And oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two. You look how Jimmy Butler stays committed on that play, ready to overcome the defender and still take the shot. The Warriors have shot 10 of 13 from the free throw line. free throw drop for Butler. Boy, it’s been so hard to watch at times. I mean, he’s missed so many of his foul shots tonight. Good to see him finally come through there. And so Butler nails both of them. And he’s starting to round back into shape after what’s been a pretty off night from the line. Edwards looking it over. Oh, Edwards. It’s simple, guys. Keep getting Edwards the ball and just let it cook. Outside. Butler. Pass to Pajki. Back to Butler. Green with a screen for Butler. Butler on the move. Here’s Pachki. Good for the basket. Starting off one for one with that shot. And Kevin, they started the game shooting it so well. I I’m surprised they haven’t continued. They’ve got to get back to their strength. Now here’s McDaniel. Connley with a wideopen look drops in the tray. Connley has got five. And really as the three-pointers keep dropping, you get the sense that the frustration is mounting for the defense. Green passes to Heel outside. Butler over re that one a 10 off line to the right but drops in for him. He’s got 12. Well, that mid-range that’s a comfort zone for Jimmy Butler. Edwards against Heield right at the free throw line. And again, it’s Minnesota converting. seemed to be laying in the weeds there in the first quarter, but now we’re seeing him come out, put all the cards on the table, and ramp it up. Butler, a screen on Edwards. Pass to Pajki, and it’s good. Two points. They did a better job of getting it inside in that first. They’ve lost some of that physical edge here. This is his second trip to the free throw line. One shot. Re good. Pajki. Here’s Connley. Five points in the game. It’s a 4se secondond differential between the shot clock and game clock. It’s Edwards on the wing. driving to the basket. And we are seeing tonight why Edwards was selected first overall. Anthony has a special ability to score. Here’s Butler. Oh no stopping that time. And they’ve repeatedly probed inside in the first half, guys, and it’s paid off. And so it’s Minnesota looking at a 13-point lead heading into the next quarter. Their strategy has been clear tonight. Work the ball inside, get shots in the paint, and now they are scoring with ease. And don’t go away. We’ll be right back. I’ve got to admit, even when these guys are covered, they make the shots. Yeah, you like to say close out on the shooters, make them earn their points inside. But even if that were tried, I don’t think it would play out that way. Looking at the series breakdown for the Warriors, a dream start. Two wins on the road and now a chance to go up three zip at home. Well, they’re definitely sitting in a good place, but they got to watch their backs. Yeah. Over. Thank you for being with us. Now, let’s send it to Kevin Harland for the second half tip. And we’re back with you. All set to bring you more action from game three. You know, Anthony Edwards has been exceptional here, guys. That first half looked like a dump contest. Mixtape was just destroying the rim. Yeah, the defense has got to be a little bit embarrassed. There is no reason why he should just be on top of that rim. Warriors trail by 13 and on the floor for Chris Finch as we get into the second half. Edwards on the wing. He’s joined by McDaniels. Randall out there with Goar and it’s Connley in at the one. When a pick like that is questionable and creates that much of an advantage for the offense, you have to blow the whistle. Yeah. A quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. Randall outside. McDaniels against Teel. McDaniels. Ditch to Randall. Butler with the steel. Curry through traffic. Count it. Oh, that’s tremendous balance. Steph’s ability to keep his composure in that tough situation, work in a tight space. That’s impressive. Edwards inside. He’s defended by Pajki. Go. The pass to Randall. Five on the clock over Butler. Randall with the bucket. Randle’s got 13. Well, fleshing out his offensive attack here. Randall comfortable from that range to knock one down. I’ll be yours. Healed the pass to Butler. Nails it from deep. Jimmy Butler. And boy, he’s really in a group. Dominant performance last game. Same thing this time out. Seems to be nobody standing in his way. No roadblocks for him to get to his spot, capitalize, and continue to be aggressive. Mr. Goar Now here’s McDaniels. Covered by Heel. Randle from outside. The rebound by Heel. And here’s Heel. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Butler kicks to Heel. Tipped away. Into the third to go. Two minutes in now. Nick Daniels passes to Randle. puts up a three. Randle can’t get that one to fall. Warriors trail by 10. Shot by Heel. Nobody around. Good as Green picking up the assist. Green’s got his third assist on the night. Minnesota’s gone 02 from deep to start things here in the second half. Back to Conley and he converts the layup and it’s seven points for Conley. and he’s been a terrific point guard in this league for a long time. Mike Connley just knows how to play. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants to check in with his team and regroup. Well, we’re into the third quarter. Just over 2 and 1/2 minutes played. Heel dishes to Curry. Six on the shot clock. Curry gets it to go inside. They are on fire right now. That’s four straight M. Timberwolves leading by seven. Conley with it. Butler covering. Conley shot is off. The Warriors have gone four for four from the field since the halftime break. Terrific start to the third pole. Curry kicks the buck. Felt like he was getting more and more hungry as he got closer to the rim. Jimmy Butler just tenacious there. This is his third trip to the free throw line. That free throw good from Butler. Always one of the hardest workers on his team. Jimmy Butler knows how to win. And so Butler nails both of them. Minnesota leading by five. Randle outside over Butler. Rando gets to Connley. Go Bear with a screen for Connley. Oh, the lob to go bear trying to go for an alleyoop, but excellent defense and anticipation there to stop. Curry with a wide open look. They get it. Butler does the things on offense, but it’s the dirty work, the loose balls, the extra possessions that he gives you on deep that’s special outside. Draymond Green pulls it in. Green’s got rebound number five for tonight. Niles Reed. He’s checked in for Minnesota and it’s the Warriors ball. They’re on a 14-4 run right now. Pass to Pajki. Butler against Reed. Thrown down by Butler. I’ll tell you, we’re right in this. We’ll see if they can maintain momentum. Yeah, this is not the team that we saw in the first quarter right now. Way more confident out there and the cohesion of the team is impressive. Here’s Connley. Contact on the shot and now a three-point play chance as he’ll head to the line. You know, kind of odd to see a lefty in today’s game, but Connley is a player you have to anticipate properly or he’ll use your mistake to get the end one. Free throw good. Connley. Warriors trail by four. Curry with it. He’s got 14. Outside Butler back to Curry. There’s the three. The rebound by the Timberwolves. At one point they led by 16. Yeah, the defense there in chill mode. We all know he can burn them from three-point range. Stephen Curry. What a shooter. Well, you would think a coach might have talked to his defense about making the adjustment on him, but right now he’s just lighting him up. And so Chris Finch calls for the timeout. This will give him a chance to discuss some potential alterations. Jonathan Kaminga, he’s checked in for the Warriors. And a change for the Timberwolves. Alexander Walker, he’s checked in for McDaniels. Kindly the pass to Edwards. front pass the arc. Jimmy Butler with the rebound. Definitely a situation you want to make sure you don’t give him too good of a look. And that one good. And this is the type of score that Jimmy Butler can be, especially when he’s getting to his spots. Curry against Con to Alexander Walker. Back to Conley Reed with a screen on Kirk. Five to shoot. Let it go from the wing. Conley shot is off. And so Green will bring it up for the Warriors. They lead by one. outside. Butler Kaminga against Reed. Curry is inside. And too much time in the lane, they get called for the 3second violation. Well, after committing a turnover like that, you’re just praying the game doesn’t come down to the last possession. You’ll remember that one. For Minnesota, they’ve gone a lackluster three of nine from the field since halftime. Here’s Edwards. Another miss by Minnesota. More good work on the glass there. When it’s all said and done, I think rebounding might tell the story in this game. Connley against Kaminga to the paint. It’s stolen by Goel. Alexander Walker with the ball. Curry meets him. Solid play in the low block and that one’s good. Let’s look at the energy stats. How the hustle game has been going for Minnesota all game long. They’ve had active hands and and really out in the passing lanes and that aggression on defense has resulted in a ton of steals. Well, if we add another thing to it, it’s about the urgency they’ve played with. I mean, you look at the eyes of these guys, they’re focused, wanting to get up tempo, and that’s helped them score on the fast break. The Timberwolves made their free throws at a pretty good clip. They’ve hit eight of 10. The Warriors making a switch here. Moody’s jacked in. That’s good from Connley. Still a solid point guard in this league. When Connley is healthy, he makes a considerable impact on both ends. Pass to Moody. Kaminga against Reed. Kaminga the pass to Moody. Green with a screen out of Moody’s shot is off. Timberwolves leading by four. Deflects the pass and that’s out of bounds. Minnesota will retain possession. You love the pressure he’s putting on them. Almost had that steal. Yeah. Pestering right now and that’s going to pay some dividends. At some point there’s going to be a turnover. Reed finds Alexander Walker. Pass to Edwards. Knocks it loose. He’s going to be shaking his head on that one. Knows he missed an easy one. Yeah, you can’t make them all. And you for sure you’ll want him taking that kind of shot. Here’s Butler. off the left rim and up. That’s pretty much the only way to keep him from taking advantage of you down low. You got to play tough, physical defense. I’m sorry, that’s poor defense down low again. It’s been a mismatch thus far in the paint. And he’s got his first chance at the line here. Minnesota making a switch. Ingles has checked in. Free throw drops for Alexander Walker. Warriors trail by seven now. Here’s Butler. He’s got 25. Wants to get it to Reed and does right side. Edwards. Basket. Good. Edwards got 35. And that was a confident shot. Love when Edwards just rises up and fires off the dribbley with it. Connley picks him up. And here is Moody. Now Connley. Here’s Alexander Walker. That’s in there. Connley with the assist. And it’s a 12-point Timberwolves lead. And where would these guys be without all the easy points off these turnovers pass to Butler over Engles and again it’s the Warriors missing and here are the Timberwolves. They’re on a 16 to five run. Edwards and so it looks like the Timberwolves will retain possession here. Payton’s check in for Brandon Pajki. Timberwolves also changing it up. Clark comes in for Joe Engles and it’s Dante Devenso in for Mike Conley. So, it’s Minnesota now. At one point they led by 16. Clark finds Alexander Walker. Trains the three-pointer. Alexander Walker’s got 11 in the second half. Warriors trail by 15. Outside Butler. Pass to Moody. Three-pointer. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. You can see he wanted to get him back. Sadly, he couldn’t capitalize from outside the arc. Even Jenzo with it. Picked by Clark. This one for three gets rebounded by Golden State. Butler’s got four rebounds in this game. Over in the corner. Kaminga. Mark against Butler trying to end the drought. Out to Baiton. Launches it. Clock at four. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Butler’s got his fourth assist with that last one here tonight. Here is Edwards. He has 35. Here’s the three. The Warriors pull it in. Payton’s got rebound number five here tonight. This is a rough stretch right here for him offensively. Seems to be rushing shots. Outside. Butler. Reed with the rebound. The defense better tighten up on the mid-range. They’re much much tighter. You expect him to make every single one of those. Devenzo kicks to Clark. Pass to Alexander Walker. Bank to Clark. Minnesota needs to get off a shot here. Edwards. That’s good. And this is big for Edwards’s confidence, wanting to keep hitting from downtown and stretching that defense. Butler against Clark and two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the content. Wow. Wow. He got whacked on that one. Shouldn’t be much debate there. And it’ll be his fourth time going to the free throw line in the game. and he makes the first. off on that one. So he goes one for two at the line. Minnesota leading by 14 Alexander Walker passes to Denenzo. After Devenzo coming into the lead wanting to prove that he belongs, but he’s done more than that. It’s about building his confidence now. And he’s got his first free throw of the game. shooting two and he knocks down the first one. Impeccable from the line since halftime. Enzo Devenenzo nails both of them. And so it’s Butler with it. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. It’s a 16-point game. Just 1 second between the shot clock and game clock. Steps back and fights. And as we end the third quarter, a double-digit deficit will make it tough to come back. Timberwolves lead by 16. While we have the chance now, folks, let’s go to our State Farm assist of the game. And the definition of teamwork right there, guys. I mean, what great communication between them. And what a beautiful feed. The coaches talk about it all the time, but to be able to play with that kind of feel. Nice play collaborating, improvising, and organic. And we welcome you back to 2K Sports coverage of the Western Conference semifinals. So with Butler sitting on the bench. Here’s the group that Steve Cerr has on the floor. Hoody is out there with Curry. Then there’s Payton. Then there’s Jonathan Kaminga. And it’s post in at the pivot manning the middle. And it’s Clark in the corner. A three for Devenzo. Doesn’t go that time. Warriors trail by 16. They get a hand on it. Kaminga against Clark out to Edwards and finished off by Edwards and unbothered by the contact inside. Edwards plays the game with so much physicality. Awesome display of athleticism captured by our AT&T 5G Slam Cam. We’re just over a minute into this final quarter of play. Curry against Enenzo. Curry with it. Reed with the rebound. Reeds got his fourth rebound in this one. Alexander Walker passes to Devenenzo. Outside Edwards pass to Reed. Federer on the way. Warriors with the rebound. Outside Curry. Gain moves along. Two minutes gone here in the fourth from 15 ft away and he knocks down the jumper. Curry’s got 19 points. Curry pretty much automatic from there. I mean, where is the weak spot for him offensively? Pass to Edwards. It’s rebounded by Kaminga. Kaminga’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Feyen outside. Shot clock at six. Out to the right wing. A nice shot by Moody. Oh, great job by Payton just seeing the floor and then making the play for someone else. Timberwolves leading by 13. Around 3 minutes gone here in the fourth quarter. Edwards inside, defended by Moody. Edwards loves it in there. Oh, it’s scary because he’s just been a matchup nightmare in this game. He’s eating up anybody they’ve thrown at him. Pass to Kaminga in the corner. Moody with it. Watch the screen. Right through the knee for the layup. Moody’s got five points now in the quarter. Over three and 1/2 minutes through the final quarter now. Clark outside. She had the defender all over. First free throw is good. And no matter what, one of the big positives they can take away from this game is how well they perform at the line. Jackson Davis has checked in for the Warriors. PJMski’s coming in for Gary Payton. Minnesota also with the sub. Connley’s checked in. Good on both. And so Curry will bring it up for Golden State. So far in the fourth quarter, they’ve allowed just six points. Launches from deep. The rebound by the Timberwolves. They led by as many as 18 points. Edwards kicks to Devenenzo. It’s good from long range. And the Timberwolves lead by 18. And the shooting numbers just keep going up and up for Dante. And a deep three from Curry trying to answer back, but that three is off the mark. Go. Clark. The pass to Edwards. And finished off by Edwards. And he’s got more than a few ways to beat you. Edwards will be aggressive when he has to initiate contact and create the N1 opportunity. Looney’s checked in for the Warriors. Find the lane. Find the lane. West shot. And what you love about Edwards is how intense he is. God plays hard every minute he’s on the floor. Connley against Curry. A Looney and out of bounds as the Timberwolves gain possession. And the Warriors making a change here. Peyton’s checked in. Minnesota with the ball. They’ve gone on a 102 run, not allowing much. Pass to Reed and there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet weren’t set on that screen. Easy call. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. Warriors trail by 21. Now here’s Curry outside. Kinga off the mark there with the three-point shot. Tibolles have gone four of eight in this fourth quarter shooting an even 50% from the feet. Pass to Devincenzo. Now here’s Edwards unloads from 13. Warriors with the rebound. Kaminga got seven rebounds in the game. Payton finds Pajki. Some nice passing by Golden Stadium. Down low. Here’s Curry over Connley. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. His shooting this quarter has to be a huge concern, especially when they’re behind like this. Can he find a rhythm? Clark dishes to Connley and the officials call for a 3second violation. And some changes here for the Warriors. Raymond Green. He’s checked in for Moses Moody. And it’s Butler in for Baiton. And then for Minnesota. Go. He’s checked in for Reed. And Randall subbed in for Clark. Warriors trail by 21 to the wing right side. Kaminga against Edwards. Here’s Poachki. And again, no good by Golden State. Minnesota with the ball. They’ve gone on a 102 run, not allowing much. Randle with the bucket. And there’s a pattern starting to take shape here. They’re working it inside and getting good shots from close range. Curry pass it to Green. Kuminga with it. to the inside. Here’s Butler. He is stolen by Randall outside. Connley outside Edwards. Go with a screen for Edwards. Offensive rebound slammed home and he draws the foul. A chance for another point at the free throw line. And it goes on Draymond Green. And good luck keeping Goar off the boards. He has a tremendous nose for the ball. And the Warriors making a change here. Heels checked in. The Timberwolves also with the sub Daniels. He’s checked in for Dante Devincenzo. And that one misses. and and go knows his role on this team. Rebound, block shots, and look to score near the basket. Edwards drives in and he dunks it right in right on Buddy Heield. Oh man. And how about just floating to the rim on that slam. Boy, when he gets up, I mean, he gets up. Pass to Green. healed outside. The shots good on the assist by Butler. Maybe he’s thinking at this point, man, somebody’s got to help me. I can’t do this all by myself. Randle outside. Outside Edwards. Just five to shoot. puts up a deep three. He got it again. Sensational. And talk about coming up huge. What a performance. He’s nearing the franchise record for most points in a playoff game. This guy is clutch. Curry against Con. Curry kicks to heal. Green with a screen on McDaniels. Healed from outside and another three for Golden State. That’s a guy you want to find. Buddy Healed with the response from three to the wing on the left. Connley sets a screen for McDaniels. Outside Edwards and there’s that was huge. Incredible. A aggressive drive by Edwards going into attack mode on that one. And here is Heield to the middle. And it’s Green with the jam. And he might be small for a center, but boy can he jump out of the building. Curry against Conor. Pass to Edwards. And how about the commitment from Edwards refusing to give up on that. First one falls for and that puts him right around 90 from the free throw line. Really good work here in the second half. Big group substitution now for Minnesota. Cars is checked in. Reed comes in for Randall Clark. He’s checked in for McDaniels. And it’s Dante Deano in for Mike Conley. And here’s Green. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. Butler deciding where to go with it. Pass to heal. Back to Butler. Here’s Heel. Outside. Butler over Edwards. Heenzo with the rebound. Minnesota’s gotten off four three-pointers in the final quarter and two of them have fallen. Down low. Reed kicks to Devenenzo. Here’s Garza. from outside off the mark. Golden State’s gone beyond the arc seven times here in the fourth and been successful three times. 157 left in the fourth quarter. Heel with the bucket. Guys, he’s been a one-man air raid coming at them time and time again. Kind of like he’s in his living room right now. He’s found a comfort zone. Once he gets that, the defense knows they’re in trouble. Now Devenenzo lets it fly. The Timberwolves again can’t hit. Shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. That one is off. Both teams deciding to change it up. on the second free throw. Good. You know, the team struggling to come back. He really wanted all of those free throws. And game three will go in the record books here. Lots of energy out there tonight. And an important win for the Timberwolves. They had a fantastic play from the bench and this team has great depth and they showed it in this game. The win tonight will bring the series to dead even at two games a piece. Just what they had hoped for before the location changes again. Just where they want to be. I mean, they fought hard and boy did they look great tonight and and got the job done. The one player that really stands out of course in this one, it was a dazzling game for Anthony Edwards. It looked like a couple times they might be wearing him down, but not the case. At the offensive end, he was just devastated. Just four to shoot. Hits the three-point bomb. But the truth is they’ve had control of this game. Yeah, looks like a veteran team tonight getting out on the road playing with assertiveness, confidence, fully in control for this win. To the paint. Here’s Moody. Lays it up and banks it in. any possession that ends in a shot from that range after. So, the Timberwolves will get the first possession. Let’s check out Minnesota’s starting lineup. Connley and Ann are the one and the two. Julius Randall out there with Rudy Goar and it’s McDaniels in at the three. Ref’s calling it close already as he picks up a quick early foul. Here’s Curry outside heel. Back to Curry. Five to shoot. Outside. Pajki. Fires for three. Randle pulls down the board. Here’s Minnesota. Pass to Connley. Outside. Edwards. Here’s Randall. They double. Randall uses the glass on the layup. Well, that’s Randall working in his comfort zone. You can see how confident he is on his ability to score inside outside Butler. And now just over a minute played here in the first. Curry no good. Butler against Connley. Goes back up and it’s blocked by Butler. Boy, the size and anticipation of Jimmy Butler. He sends that one back from whence it came. Out to Heel from outside the ark. Drills it from deep. Defensively, you have to stay connected to him on the perimeter. And Minnesota with possession here. And here’s Edwards. Wing shot on the way. Knocks it loose. It’s stolen by Green and here’s the pass break and it’s Butler with the jam. Let’s make no mistake, Draymond Green is a masterful defender. You have to love the activity. Let’s check in with our reporter Ally Leforce. I had a chance to catch up with Steve Kirk. He was emphatic, saying that Edwards was their main concern, telling me Anthony poses problems on both sides of the ball and he is relentless. He doesn’t let up. He wants his guys to match Edward’s energy. Thanks for that, Ally. And the 17-footer goes down. Edwards got five points. Anthony Edwards just reading what the defense giving up. Gets to his mid-range game right there. Curry from deep three-point land. Rebound Minnesota. I know that he has the ability and confidence to sink that shot, but better luck next time, maybe. And for most guys, I think you only want to take that shot if you hit a few in a row. That is absolutely a heat check. First trip to the just over 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second. Pass the post. Curry surveys money. Stephen Curry, the three-point king. The threes keep coming in the illustrious career of one Mr. Stephen Curry. They’ve got Jonathan Kaminga. Moody is out there with Stephen Curry. Then there’s Gary Payeyton second. And it’s post in at the center position. So that’s the group out there for Golden State right now. trying to get into a rhythm, but so far this quarter, boy, he is struggling to make anything go down. To the middle, Devenzo with a steal. Here’s Clark. Oh, Clark with the slam. Woo! His energy is unmatched. The finishing transition nice and easy. Pass to post. Back to Curry. Six to shoot. Out of bounds. It’ll be Timberwolves ball. Green’s checked in for the Warriors. Pajimky comes in for Peyton. Garzes checked in for Minnesota. And almost four minutes gone in the second quarter of play. Clark outside. Pass to Reed. Shot clock at five. Here’s Devenzo and he comes up with a bucket. Devenzo’s got four points this quarter. Hey, they’re just getting pushed around inside. Outside Kaminga. Back to Curry from deep three-point land. Garza grabs a board and it’s Edwards with the ball for Minnesota. They trail by seven. Steven Chinszo on the wing. Back to Edwards. over Curry and Edwards with the basket on the assist by Devincenzo. Edwards got 15 points outside. Pajki pass to Curry and looks like an illegal pick was set. That gets the ref’s attention. One of the trickier plays to judge, but it would be hard to argue against the call. It is really difficult to get your feet completely set, to stay completely still. It’s almost surprising to me that it isn’t called more often. Timberwolves trail by five. They’ve been taking care of business, especially at the offensive end where they’ve been totally in sync. Here’s Edwards and it’s cleared by Stephen Curry. Oh, an easy look, but he decides to be a crowdleaser. I’m sure he’s upset for taking that one. Kajjimky shot is good. Well, this is what makes Steph Curry so difficult to defend, right? A sharp passer on top of everything else he brings in terms of his scoring ability. Now, here’s Connley. He’s scoreless left side. Edwards. Edwards muscles it inside. Wow. And he’s coming off a huge performance and his confidence couldn’t be any higher. And his coach knows that, too. Well, the best players to me deliver night night after night after night. So, as long as he’s hot, keep riding it. Kumingo, the pass to Green outside. And it’s going to be a 3second call. And some changes here for the Warriors. Jimmy Butler’s checked in for Kuminga. And Heel is subbed in for Moody. Julius Randles checked in for the Timberwolves. McDaniels comes in for Alexander Walker. Connelly passes to Edwards. Gets rebounded by Golden State. They held a 12-point lead earlier. Here’s Pajki. Here’s Butler. Oh, Butler. Strong move. No, we’re talking about a gritty competitor. And Jimmy Butler loves to mix it up on the glass. Nice rebound. Connley passes to Edwards and Edwards slams it in. Oh yeah, that’ll do it. Wow, an emphatic two-handed slam. The Warriors lead by six outside. Curry. A screen on Edwards. Pass to Green. Back to Pajimski. And that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Pajimski’s got five points now in the quarter. Connley passes to go outside. Edwards. Edwards finishes strong against the D. I’ll tell you, despite this guy’s strong play in this period, they’re still behind. Someone else has got to step up. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. A moment to rest and confer on the game plan. And the Warriors make it a switch here. Kumingas checked in. The Timberwolves also with a sub. Dven Chenzo’s checked in outside. Butler. Green a screen. A shot from the mid-range. Green controls the rebound and the put back. You simply must check Draymond Green out because this guy is going to hustle for every rebound. Outside McDaniels. Randle against Butler. Goar with a screen on Butler. Here’s Randall. Drives to the hoop. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. What burst from Julius Randall gets him into shooting position and the defense essentially runs out of options. They’ve got to foul him. The first one falls. That one misses. So he goes one for two. Guys, what you love about Julius Randall is the well-rounded nature of his game. Because he works so hard on his shooting ability, it makes his dribble drive that much more dangerous. And a chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Well, they found a groove and it’s from distance, so knocking them down from the three-point land never hurts. Yeah, they’ve also been alert and active on the defensive end, creating turnovers and turning those into points on the offensive end. And he’s good on the second. Now here’s Connley. Still no points. Pass to go. Out to Devincenzo. Connley with the ball. Goes up and lays it in nice and easy. Well, if you give Mike Connley any kind of position on the interior, he is just crafty enough to finish it. Now, here’s Butler and a foul called on the way up. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. They’ll pin that one on Julius Randall. He’s had four chances at the line. He’s made them all. two. That’s good from Butler. What I love most about Jimmy Butler is his will to win and the capacity he has to take his teammates right along with him. Reeds checked in for the Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards comes in for Devincenzo. Timberwolves trail by seven. McDaniels passes to Edwards over heels and he buries that one back rim and in. Edwards got 23. I think his teammates understand that Anthony Edwards has every aspect of his offensive game working. So, let’s make sure he’s got the basketball. Butler takes the contact and scores. I’ll tell you, he’s having his way right now in the second period. Forget the first quarter. Let’s get to work. Edwards for three. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got his fifth rebound in this one. It’s Pajki on the wing. Outside Green outside to Butler. Clock at six. and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. If you want to check Jimmy Butler, you better be ready to compete. This guy is always playing hard. This is his second trip to the line in the game. That’s good from Butler. Butler hits them both. This is about the last guy you want to send to the stripe right now. They keep fouling him and he keeps making them. Connley passes to Go. Edwards looking for an opening. Hard work pays off right there. Anthony Edwards finds himself in the paint and draws contact. So far, he’s made all of his shots at the foul line, going four for four and he knocks down the first one. In the first quarter, he did a great job getting to the line, but he’s been a little less physical as the game’s gone on. And both free throws good for Edwards. Anthony Edwards is a three-level scorer. He can beat you in a lot of ways and he’s extremely confident when the game is hanging in the balance. And it’s Butler who slams it down. Well, a little show and tell from the Butler, Jimmy giving the fans their money’s worth. Just an awesome display of athleticism on our AT&T 5G slam cam. Now, here’s Edwards. He’s got 25. Oh, Edward packs it home. He is torching a defense that simply has no answers for him. Outside Pajki. Kuminga against McDaniels. Left side. Kuminga. And it’s Goar with a rebound. And that close out certainly made a difference. Well, no question. He altered that shot. And most of the time that’s just as good as blocking it. Now, here’s McDaniels. Hasn’t got one to fall yet. Let’s remember Anthony Edwards is 65 with a 69 wingspan. Those long arms very difficult to deal with defensively. Draws the contact there and he’s made all of his six tries at the line in this one. Re throw good. Edwards Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. And both free throws good for Edwards. Well, we know Edwards has an impressive skill set, but what really separates him is the competitive edge that he plays with. Butler passes to Moody outside. Heel beyond the arc. Burries it from three. Heels got seven. You simply must play better defense than that. This guy is too good from distance. Now Connley. There’s 48 seconds left in the first half of this game. Edwards no good. That’s a shot he’d like back. He’s usually going to make those. Healed on the wing. Guarded by Edwards. Moody on the wing. It’s not going to go for him. McDaniels with some nice D. It would be smart to hold for the final shot. Well, that’s great execution if you can do that because it takes any chance at momentum away from your opponent. And we’ve seen Edwards grow a lot in the past few years. He has a great understanding of how to put defenders in tough spots. He’s off on the first and the Warriors making a switch here and no good on the second free throw. So 0 for two there. And that’s surprising. He’s usually automatic at the free throw line. Go against Butler. Green with a screen on Goar. Pick works well there, but the defense left a lot to be desired. It takes incredible effort to stay connected to the hip of the offensive player. You’ve got to want to work. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors closing out the quarter ahead by 11 points. They’ve been very effective from the three-point line. That’s the key for them so far. All right, we’ll get back to the action after this break. Benchmob, they’ve been on one. Give it. And welcome back to our coverage of game three on 2K Sports. And you know, Anthony Edwards has been really making it happen, guys. He took a head-on approach in the first half, going straight at the D and drawing fouls. I have to love his tenacity. This guy stays in attack mode, makes defenders work, tries to keep them off balance. On the court for the Timberwolves and is at the two with McDaniels playing the three. Rudy Goar is out there with Julius Randall. And it’s Connley in at the one. We are talking about an elite scorer. Jimmy Butler right now has every aspect of his game working. And the basket by Edwards rising to the challenge. He’s given them everything he’s got. Pass to Butler. Heels from outside. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Butler’s got assist number five here tonight. He drops yet another dive. just facilitating this offense like a maestro. Go passes to Edwards. And a miss there on the triple. Nice rebound. Trying to match the other team’s intensity right now. Gee against McDaniels. Butler passes to Green and here’s Curry for three. Gets rebounded by Minnesota. Edwards got five rebounds in the game. Pass to McDaniels. 90 seconds into the second half now to the paint. Here’s Heield. Well timed pass and he goes straight to the bucket for the layup. Heels got 12 points. Boy, that’s three for four this half. You like that they’re starting with a little bit of extra energy. Nice. It’s Edwards on the wing, defended by Pachimsky and Edwards slams it in. Every aspect of Anthony Edwards game is on display. This guy has been cooking from the outset. Outside PJsky. Oh, deflected pass to Heel outside Curry. Oh, nice job in the paint from Curry. Boy, excellent start to the second half. They’ve missed just once in five attempts. Connley passes to Go. Not quite 2 and 1/2 minutes played here in the second half. Randall can’t hit. He’s as surprised as we are. Most nights that bucket is automatic. And Connley grabs the miss. Timberwolves trail by 15. Randall outside and he was camped in the lane there. He gets a 3second call. He pushed a little too hard there trying to close the gap and yes, he paid the price. That’s a big miscue and you hate to see that happen at this point in the game. Outside Pajki Green with a screen on Connley. The three is up. And Curry is good for three. He’s got 13. His first triple of the second half. That makes three for the game. And Chris Bench calls timeout here. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. The Timberwolves have gone two of five in this third quarter. Outside Edwards pass to Randall. No good that time. Ooh, good work defensively by Butler. Curry against Connley. Out to Heel. Green with a screen on McDaniels to the inside. Randle with a steel. Heel against McDaniels. Goar with a screen on heel. McDaniels passes to Goar outside. Curry outside heel. There’s the triple and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Curry’s got four assists now tonight. This defense just can’t stay connected to shooters. That one drops for him. Edwards got 36 points. Boy, he’s been cooking, but the teammates, he’s just not getting a lot of support from them. Outside Curry outside heel lets the three fly. Rebound Minnesota. Randle’s got four rebounds now. Pass to McDaniels. Left side, Connley. Randall deciding where to go with it. Shot clock at six. Hey, hangs it midair and converts the double clutch layup. Randle’s got 11 points. Guard him big, guard him small. Julius Randle is so crafty on the interior. It matters not. He’s going to finish. Outside heel off the mark there with a three. Defense dodged a bullet that time. Total breakdown. Randle inside. Guarded by Heel. Randall good. 13 points in the game. They have no answer defensively inside. Outside heel. And here’s Butler outside. That one’s good. Seven for 10 now. Man, they’re having a hard time defending the triple. That’s three in a row. And so Connelly will bring it up for the Minnesota Timberwolves. It’s an 18-point game and Chris Finch has called timeout. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments and something fans don’t always get to see some of the closely guarded secrets that happen in that huddle. It’s tough to hide your communications. Teams go to great lengths to try to do it, but sometimes to no avail. Kaminga, he’s checked in for the Warriors. And the Timberwolves also making a change. Alexander Walker. He’s checked in for McDaniels. Goar passes to Edwards. Pass to Alexander Walker. Oh, got a piece of it for three. Connley unable to get that one. The Warriors lead by 18. Outside Green. Here’s Curry. He’s guarded by Connley. Here’s Butler and he gets it to go. He’s eight of 11 now. Oh, you can see the swagger and the body language. Jimmy Butler is cooking. He’s letting the defense know it. Outside Edwards back to Connley and he banks in the layup. Connley’s gotten his second bucket of the game. Very little resistance around the rim right now. That’s the fifth straight bucket they’ve given up in the paint. Down low. Butler can’t get it to go. Timberwolves trail by 18. Mike has specialized over the years and being able to get defenders committed. Nicely done. And a look at how the offensive approach has been going so far for the Warriors. What a performance from beyond the Arc in this game. They stuck to their guns and it’s paid off all game. They’ve also made a concerted effort to get the ball down low. Many of their points coming in that painted area tonight. The free throw drops for Connley. I think Mike Connley historically will always be part of the grit and grind mentality where he spent his career in Memphis. But this guy’s skill set allows him to fit in with any organization. And Connley drops them both. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Their biggest lead of the game was 21. Pass to Green to the paint. The kick out. Curry. Six on the shot clock and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. It goes on Mike Connley. This is not a guy who’s going to back down from contact. Steph Curry takes the knock inside and for a jump shot special as this guy draws his share of fouls. First free throw is good. Boy, when you think about Stephen Curry, his style, his shooting, all the abilities have influenced the way we think about the game of basketball. Incredible. And so Curry nails both of them. Timberwolves trail by 18. Connley passes to Goar. Pass to Alexander Walker. Go with a screen on Kaminga. Alexander Walker sinks it from distance. Alexander Walker’s gotten himself going here. His first points of the game on the deep ball outside. Kaminga now Butler. Shot is good off the back rim and in. Butler’s got 27. Zero hesitation from Jimmy. Shot ready on the catch. Nicely done. Pass to Alexander Walker. Back to Connley. The shake. Shoots over Curry. The kick out to Edwards from behind the ark. And again, it’s Minnesota with a three. In fullon catchup mode. They’re reigning threes right now. The Warriors lead by 14. And here’s Curry for three. Alexander Walker grabs the board. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. And Edwards slams it in. Oh, guys, the agility, the hops, everything about Anthony Edwards. So good athletically. Pass to Green to the inside. Here’s Kuminga. Oh, Kuminga strong like bull and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. One thing I enjoy is watching players who don’t pay attention to the score. You lock in on the moment and play the right way. And Chris Finch calls timeout here. He wants a few moments to regroup with his players. So both teams changing it up here. Timberwolves trail by 14. Connelly with the ball. He’s got six outside. Reed from outside the ark. The Jimky grabs the board. Golden State has got four of eight attempts to fall from deep here in the third quarter. Inside, here’s Moody and he makes no mistake. Slam, dunk. How about the timing? Could be the difference between an assist and a turnover. Nice delivery. Now here’s Connley. He’s closely guarded. Reed sets a screen and he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. It goes on Brandon Pajimki. You can see the defenders try to play with a level of physicality against Mike Connley, but this guy’s such a tough competitor, he’ll get to the line. First one falls for him. Peyton’s checked in for Pajimski. And Connley drops them both. And we’ve seen some good free throw shooting in the second half. And it’s Butler with the ball for the Golden State Warriors. Their biggest lead of the game was 21. Alexander Walker grabs the board. You got to move past that one. I mean, they’d want him to take that again. And they should because it’s when you start turning down that kind of look that your offense can start to bog down a bit. Enzo can’t hit. The Warriors lead by 14. To the middle. Here’s Payton. And that one is stopped right through. His play making is something to watch. Threading that pass right in there. Minnesota has gone three of seven from deep so far in the third quarter. Outside Devenzo the shot no good. Excellent D there from Kumingo. Deven Chenzo’s gone two for six from the floor so far. Right side Peyton. Here’s Post. Reed defending pass to Butler. Let’s go with a three. Sends it home from three-point land. Butler’s got 12 points in just the second half. Connley passes to Devontenzo. Blocked. 105 left in the third. And here’s Butler. Here’s the floater and it’s good on the layup. Butler’s got 32 points in the game. And why go away from attacking inside if the D has no answer for you? Randall against Butler to stop the run. Randle can’t hit. The Warriors lead by 21. It’s stolen now. 8 seconds separating the two clocks. Three on three. Connley against Peyton. Well, the up fake from Connley is so effective. draws the contact, will go to the free throw line. This is his third trip to the free throw line in this game. Free throw drops for Connley and the Timberwolves making a change here. Clark’s checked in. And so he makes both from the line. We’ve got 22 seconds left in the third quarter. Connley against Peyton. Pass to Butler. Bennit in. Oh, nails the buzzer beater. Jimmy Butler getting it done for the Golden State Warriors. He had solid production this quarter with scoring and rebounding. More NBA on 2K Sports right after this. And while we have a chance, let’s go to our State Farm assist of the game. You know, I’m kind of stoked that this was a choice because I love this pass. A remarkable find. He put his court vision on full display. Well, making the game easy for your teammates. All about putting them in a position to score. That’s pretty. And we’re back with you folks as this exciting western Oh, okay then. Oh, Anthony Edwards thinks this game is a dunk contest. Go ahead, young sir. What a finish. There’s the AT&T 5G slam cam capturing the moment. Here’s Curry. Pass to post outside. Payton. Kaminga up top outside. Payton puts up a deep three. Here’s Post and a good offensive board and he gets the bucket and the Warriors lead by 21. They’ve had a slight leg up on the boards and a big leg up on the scoreboard. Stevenzo finds Edwards from downtown. Kaminga pulls it in. Kaminga’s got five rebounds tonight. The Warriors lead by 21 outside. Moody. Fourth quarter. Still young. Just over a minute played. Payeyton passes to Curry. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Well, Stephen Curry has always been able to draw contact, but now he’s so physically strong that he’s able to absorb it better. The first free throw is good. Garzes checked in for Alexander Walker. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws and man looking good from the line so far this half. And here’s Edwards and Edwards slams it in. Well, we know this about Anthony Edwards. This guy one of the stronger guards in this game. That’s a tough finish. Curry against Enenzo. Outside Curry. Shot clock at six. Good work defensively by Devontenzo. Timberwolves trail by 21. Pass to Edwards. They set the screen over Moody. Here’s Garza. Three-pointer. The rebound by Moody. Moody’s got five rebounds in the game. From deep three-point range, Garza grabs a board. Minnesota’s gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. Even against Curry outside Edwards pass to Reed over Kuminga. Reed good. Well, Naz Reed doesn’t operate often in the mid-range, but if you concede it, he’ll take it. Deninszo against Curry. The open shot. Kuminga gets rebounded by Minnesota outside. Edwards. Pass to Denenzo. Back to Edwards. Intercepted. A look at the clock. A little under three and 1/2 minutes gone by in the fourth. Curry against Steven Enenzo to end the drought. And off the front iron and in it goes. Curry’s got 19 points. But you want to step him off the line, that’s no problem. Step an efficient move into the mid-range jump shot. Denzo finds Reed. Clark with it. Pass to Devenenzo. It’s stolen by Kuminga to the paint and down it goes. Dumped it through off a beautiful setup adding insult to injury with the dunk off the steel. Nice to see a good play on Debs. Let’s see if that serves as a momentum builder. What a great sequence for this group. Cart the pass to Reed. Here’s Edwards. Kaminga pulls it in. Kaminga’s got six rebounds here tonight. Cody good transition basketball. The most reliable way to generate easy looks. The very definition of quality transition offense. If it can end at the cup, it’s exactly where you want it. Outside Edwards. and slammed it home and a foul. A chance at another point at the line. It’s on Stephen Curry. How about the body control from Anthony Edwards just so good at using that frame to get through the teeth of the defense. But checked in for Payton. And the Timberwolves also making a change. Connley’s checked in. The Warriors lead by 22 pass to post outside. Kaminga. This one for three. Rebounded by the Timberwolves. Steven Chenzo’s got four rebounds now. Now here’s Connley. outside. Edwards lets it go from deep. Another one falls. Amazing. Talk about coming up huge. What a performance. He’s nearing the franchise record for most points in a playoff game. Man, this guy is clutch. Curry from deep three-point land. Oh, almost had a four-point play right there, but he’ll go to the line with a chance for three. Ideally, you’re trying not to send Stephen Curry to the line, but this guy creates those situations with his instinct and his ability. And that one falls for Curry. He’s forcing the action now. finally getting to the charity strike after no freebies in the first half. Green’s checked in for the Warriors. Butler comes in for Moody. Rudy Goar’s checked in for Minnesota. Julius Randle comes in for Clark. Makes it. And he continues to shoot well from the line. Here’s Connley and Chris Finch calls timeout here. He clearly wants to talk it over and make sure everyone is focused. Warriors on D. Earlier in the game, they held a 25-point lead outside. Butler outside Pajki. Good. And Butler gets the assist. Butler’s got eight assists here tonight. Jimmy Butler has turned himself into a guy that can pick apart any defense you send in his direction. If he sees an opening, he will send it on time and on target. Here’s Edwards. The shot that time not on target. Green with the defensive effort. Boy, with his power and explosiveness. When Butler gets inside, it’s typically a bucket, a trip to the line, or sometimes worse, both. That free throw no good. Boy, at his best, Jimmy Butler is a versatile scorer inside and outside, but what I will most remember him for, his competitive toughness. And the Warriors making a change here. Heels checked in. McDaniels is checked in for Minnesota. He hits the second from the line. They’re doing great work at the free throw line this half. That bodess well for their chances to close out this game. Connley against Curry. Pass to McDaniels and he throws it down with one hand. Such an impressive athlete. Mr. McDaniels sends it in. Curry against Connley. A little mid-range shot is up. Minnesota with a rebound. Go’s got five rebounds in the game. Outside McDaniels. Connley looking for an opening and Edwards slams it in. Anthony Edwards showing you, yes, I am a vertical threat at the rim. Connley against Curry. Pass to Butler. Edwards pulls it in. Well, he was wide open. You wonder, did he overthink it? That’s a missed opportunity. Now here’s Green. Now Pajimski outside heel outside. Butler shoots over Randall. A nice shot by Butler. Butler’s got 37. Well, this guy has been efficient and effective all night. That IQ has been on display. McDaniels finds Connley. Here’s Edwards. Picked by Goar. Takes a three. Rebounded by Butler. Butler’s got seven rebounds in the game. With the 10-footer and it’s off the back of the rim. No good. Well, when you’ve been struggling as he has, you love that your teammates have really stepped up and taken the challenge. Connley, a screen on Butler. Well, there’s a certain edge that Julius Randle plays with that allows him to draw contact. The free throw dropped for Randall. That one falls. So he hits both of them. And so it’s Curry with it. He brings it up for the Warriors. Earlier in the game, they held a 25-point lead. Healed from outside. Oo, making his presence felt here. He’s now six for nine in this game. That’s his fifth triple of the night. Two in the first half, three in this one. Huge production. Randall outside. Edwards fires for three. Yet another bucket. And what a night he’s had. That score now ties him for the single game playoff high for his team. He’s been nothing short of amazing tonight. A legendary playoff performance for him. Back to Curry. Clock at six. It’s Pimsky on the wing over Edwards. The shot by Pajimky. No good. Timberwolves trail by 21 and stolen by Green. Butler finds Curry now. He back to Curry down low and it’s flush down. A nice jam. Well, this is when Buddy He’s teammates start to consistently feed him. They understand what a rhythm he’s in. Randall outside. Pass to McDaniels. Back to Randall. Outside Connley. Down to five on the shot clock. Inside. It’s stolen by Green. And there’s a minute 45 left in the fourth quarter. Count it. Curry’s got 24. There is nothing Steph Curry can’t do on the floor. He is a Hall of Famer and right now the defense has got to find a way to get him off balance. Connelly passes to Edwards to the inside. Randall and it’s Randall with the jam. And that’ll wrap up game three. Now a look ahead towards an important game four for the Warriors. And everything seemed to go their way today. They were firing on all cylinders. Grant. Yeah, BA. This was the kind of performance you relish as a player. Just a very impressive win. And as it was happening, as it was building, you knew this was a monster game for Jimmy Butler. What a selfless effort tonight. He’s done such a great job finding guys in their appropriate spots. Well, that’s not the guy you want guarding him at the rim. Just too much of a differential in terms of size. Pass to heel. Green with a screen on Randall. Here’s Butler. And there’s another one for the Warriors. Kaminga against Clark. Pass to Jackson Davis. Curry is inside and the layup falls. Curry’s got 19 points. Huge night for Curry in a great rhythm thus far. That’s always bad news for the team he’s facing. And so in the game for the Timberwolves, they’ve got Dante Devincenzo, Nquille Alexander Walker out there with Clark. Then it’s Nas Reed and it’s Edwards in at the shooting guard position. Here’s Curry. Anthony Edwards making his last shot inside. It’s intercepted. Clark against Kaminga. Clark the bastard. Even Jenzo back to Clark for the three. The Warriors pull it in. The game has been very close in a lot of areas, but rebounding has been the one differentiator thus far. We’ve seen it time and time again in games. Effort and determination on the glass can make up for a lot of other weaknesses. Jackson Davis with it, guarded by Reed. Down to five on the shot clock. Curry can’t get it to go. Very dangerous to leave a guy like that open. Lucky break there for the deep. Edwards against Curry. Oh, here’s Edwards. Not a lot of room. Clark finds Edwards. Lets it go from 11. The Warriors pull it in. Kamingas got his fifth rebound in this one. Out left of the wing. Now here’s Moody Edwards defending. There’s Kuminga. That’s not going to do it either. He’s 0 for five. Timberl with it. Clark for three. And once again off the mark by Minnesota and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. And that’s the kind of lead pass we’ve come to expect from him. Minnesota’s gone 03 from beyond the arc to start the second quarter. Even Jenza with the screen for Clark. Sinks the three-pointer. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the deep. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan. Clearly different look here for the Warriors. Raymond Green, he’s checked in for Trace Jackson Davis. Jimmy Butler comes in for Kaminga. Heels checked in for Pton. And it’s Brandon Pajki in for Moses Moody. Big group substitution now for Minnesota. Rudy Gobear. He’s checked in for Reed. Julius Randle comes in for Clark Daniels. He’s checked in for Alexander Walker. And it’s Mike Connley in for Dante Devincenzo. A nice shot by McDaniels. Basically just ignored that contact inside. Really tough finish by McDaniels. Here’s PMski. Healed outside. Pass to Butler. Cloft on the front of the rim and drops. And the Warriors lead by two. And this is Jimmy’s sweet spot. He loves finding room to shoot that mid-range jumper. And it’s Connley penetrating. That one’s no good. That makes him one for two. And here’s Greenhill bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. They come into this one after losing on Sunday. Yeah, they made some spectacular plays in it right to the very end. Just couldn’t get over the hump. Yeah, you know, they didn’t have their best stuff, but they were still getting after it. So, you got to really appreciate the effort and hustle. And here is Connley after the three-pointer from Stephen Curry. And slam dunk by Go. Excellent mobility right there. I like when Gobear rolls to the rim with that aggression. Here’s PMski. Edwards defending now. Pompeki. Curry on the wing provide Connley. You got to be careful how you guard Curry because he’s so skilled with the ball and as a shooter, he’s able to figure out ways to draw fouls. He’s gone one of one in the game. So far from the line. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And he knocks down the first one. And they’re really getting more points at the free throw line here in the second quarter. Definitely. That’s one of the reasons they’re in front right now. Looking at who’s out there now for the Timberwolves. Alexander Walker comes in for Edwards and it’s Dante Divas in for Mike Con. And at the line, it’s all about consistency with him. His routine, his stroke, it never wavers. Even Jenzo against heel. Even Jenzo can’t hit it. VMsky with it. Back to Curry. Butler deciding where to go with it. Curry always finds a way. This time inside and the driving force behind multiple chips. Curry knows when and how to take over at the offensive end. Go the pass to Alexander Walker. Here’s McDaniels. lays it up off the glass. Nick Daniels got four points now in the quarter. That’s simply an outstanding play. Working the size mismatch right at the rim. Outside Butler. There’s the triple. Go pulls it in. Timberl and you know the impressive descension of Randall has been a lot of fun to watch. I mean, he’s a double double threat who plays with relentless energy. It’s his first trip to the line. The first one falls. Dominguez come in for Butler. So after making the first, he goes one for two. Warriors leading by four. Outside Kinga stolen by McDaniels. Shoots over Curry and he overshot that one. missing. Golden State’s gotten a positive outcome on seven of their 14 three-pointers in this game. Not bad at all. Here’s PMski. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Randall down low. He’s defended by Pajki. Shock up two there. The relentlessness of Randall. R squ taking on all coming. Here’s PMski defended by Alexander Walker and stolen by Devenzo. Over in the corner, McDaniels and no good. Had a chance to take the lead there. Warriors have gone seven of 13 from the field since the start of the second. Green kicks to Kaminga to the inside. Heel lays it up and in off the pretty assist. He’s got eight points. A guy like Buddy out hustles other players on the floor. He he gets inside and there he finishes strong. Vando passes to Alexander Walker. That’s in coming off an assist from Randall. Randle’s got three assists now in this one. And here is Curry. 26 points for him. And you know, with Curry, what impresses me most is his efficiency. That’s not something we normally see in a high volume jump shoot. The Warriors shooting their seventh and eighth attempts at the foul line tonight. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That’s good from Stephen Kirk. And they haven’t let points get away from them at the line tonight. That’s always something that’ll allow a coaching staff to breathe a little easier. And both free throws good for Curry. It’s clear here in the second period he’s made a concerted effort to attack and get himself to the line. Pastor Randall, lets it go from 11. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. VMsky with it. How defended by Randall and here is heel. We’ve got 108 left in the first half. Green with a string on McDaniel. Curry laser guided shot from deep range. And this is the game plan for him. He’s a big part of their floor spacing. And you know what? It’s all about the long distance game for him tonight. He’s getting it done from out there. Randall against Kaminga. The jump hook and the bucket is good. Three-point play chance here for him. And they haven’t worked it inside as much as they did earlier in the game. Now that they have the lead, they don’t seem as determined to pound it down low. Alexander Walker, he’s checked in for Minnesota. Dante Devenenzo comes in for Dillingham. and didn’t have a single free throw in that first quarter, but he started to play with a little bit more of an edge to his game here in the second. Now, here’s Curry. He has 31. Pajki finds Heel, misses the three. You know, when he has the ball outside like that, that’s exactly the kind of D they need to play on. 5 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Here’s Alexander Walker. The Warriors pull it in. Kaminga’s got rebound number eight now on the night outside. Curry on the wing. Heel. And that’s it for the first half of action. What’s been a very close game here. Warriors ahead up by three. We’ll see you back here after the break for third quarter basketball. They’ve had the hot hand from deep. So, I’m giving these guys the green light. Keep riding the that is more and we return again with more playoff action from the Western Conference semifinals. Really an incredible game from Stephen Curry. And with all the pressure he must have felt coming into this one, it didn’t phase him one bit. Fantastic start. Yeah, you know, I think he relishes the pressure, especially in a big game like this one. He really eats that stuff up. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pajki. Green is out there and it’s healed in a three. That’s Steve Curry’s five as we get into the second half. Count it good.
