Jalen Brunson talks about why he left the Mavs #shorts #nba #nbamoments #jalenbrunson
I really did want to stay in Dallas before my fourth season in Dallas. My last season in Dallas, we try to extend our contract. Like whatever we can get with the most we can get was like four years and 55 million. It’s funny because my agent was like, “Man, you can do so much. You can do you can get more. You can get more.” I’m saying like, “Well, like I just I want to be safe. I’m not trying to gamble right now. This is not something you really gamble with if it’s out there.” They were like, “We want to see where we’re at 20 25 games into the season.” But we were like, “All right, well, if we’re not going to do it, I kind of don’t want to do it until after the season. I’m not trying to think about this during the season, right? There’s a period where Luca went out and I started to start. I was playing really well. I think I was averaging like 20 and like six maybe whatever. It was about that 20 25 mark and so we went back. We’re like hey like the deal’s there. We’re thinking about it like I’ll do it like right now. Still it was no. The deal came on the table after the trade deadline. I was like no I think I’ve outgrown that now. Ain’t no looking back. So yeah we lose in the Western Conference Finals and I remember seeing something on Twitter after the game and it was like Mark saying hey like we can pay him the most money. So I’m thinking like all right after that it was like crickets and obviously I saw like New York making moves and saw all that stuff. I was like close to home two hours away from where I was or an hour away from where I was born. Whole family’s on the east coast. So I started thinking like this could be a real thing. Then here we are.

You made the right decision .Trust And believe it. We definitely need this .And to be honest Jb you need this also. .I have a feeling we my win it I'ma stop myself right there for now but I put 10000 on the Knicks because in from the Bronx born and raised this might be our year if that happens it's over because I guarantee every NY team in every sport will win
I don’t think he becomes the player he is now if he stays. He needs the ball in his hands and he wouldn’t have that opportunity if he was still with Luka
The mavs really fumbled the best backcourt in the league 😬
4 years 55 million and they hesitate. Seems criminal. Monumental fumble
Riskiest decision going to the knicks, but it became the best decision.
lol it also helps that his father works for the organization.
Luka and Jalen in Dallas and in their prime, how they drop the bag so bad is beyond me.
Why the Mavericks so cheap? seems like a team in Texas should be able to spend with no problem. especially for stars that bring the money back.
Man him and luka with 3 and d sf/pf with a lob threat mavs fumbled badly
What about his daddy telling him what to do?
Thank god for that. If they would’ve kept Brunson the Luka trade woulda made Niko look like a genius
As a UConn alumni, I hated this man and Villanova. As a Knicks fan, I’m over it lmfao
Cuban isn't exactly known for being this great GM.
The Mavs really fumbled both Luka and Brunson
Dallas is a generational fumbler
luka and brunson would be amazing but they are both very ball dominant players and need the ball to play well, this is why steph and clay work so well they both dont need the ball. but luka n brunson both do.
The Mavs are a joke… had both Luka and Jalen. Now they have…. what exactly do they have?
4 years 55 millions, that would’ve been a bargain lol.. wtf dallas
He forgot to mention his dad was on the Knicks staff too 😅
This LIL MF changed NYC trajectory like no other, this is the impact we thought Melo would bring.
Good thing he got out of Dallas. It’s a mess and it’s heading nowhere fast. Luka in LA , Jalen in NY…both at one time were in Dallas. Smh
Dallas front office sold they last two superstars 😂
Since they beat Phoenix, theyve made nothing but bad decisions. They got lucky getting Kyrie and then traded Luka for no good reason. Dallas is a sad place
His dad worked for them in the front office this whole story a lie
Cap.
Why’d the knicks hire his daddy then ?
GTFO
Now both of them are gone. The only reason I'll say the Mavs are in a bad spot is because both Kyrie and AD are very injury prone players. If there was ever a chance that those guys could stay healthy for at least 65 games and a full playoff run they'd have a chance to win.
Thank you so much Captain Klutch for choosing us new york thank you for the podcast Edie thr defalco?? Wow 😮 even if you don't do any more thank you and your dad for your service…love jesus because he loves us first
Dallas fumbled twice 😂😂
Don’t forget grimes as well people .. the Dallas front office literally fumbled like 3 ultra solid players post Cuban .. and getting rid of Luka and putting all that stress on kyrie to produce kinda got him injured .. so I could him in the fumbles
He was always an absolute bucket idk how it was that hard to see that with the right opportunity you have a weapon on your hands
He wouldn't get the same time with the ball with Luka, Dallas letting him go really let him flourish.
MELO NEVER HAD THE HELP BRUNSON HAD . FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THIS COMPARISON!IF MELO PLAYED WITH THE SAME SQUAD HE HAD IN SYRACUSE AND HAD THAT CHEMISTRY THIS IS WHAT BRUNSON HAS HAD THE WHOLE TIME ON THE KNICKS.
55 million for 4 years in Dallas vs $270 million for 4 years is risky?
NEVER go to Vegas brother!😂
We could have kept him in Dallas.
dude is a super max player and Dallas offered 15, lol
Stax looking like Flavor Flave
Biggest flopper ever. I liked him in highlights but when i watched his games i hated the way he flopped it kills the game in my opinion
Crazy cause he cold af and I never thought that when he was behind Luka ngl
I hate being a fan of the Dallas mavericks
Mavs trying to beat 10s OKC at wasting talent
People forget man, everyone was saying that the Knicks overpaid
Let's be honest folks, no one knew he was going to be this good. Stop acting like psychics 😂
THANK YOU DALLAS!!!❤😂( for being cheap)
