🚨NY KNICKS GET BEST NEWS YET!

🚨NY KNICKS GET BEST NEWS YET!

Even in my wildest dreams, I didn’t think the New York Knicks would steal both games at the TD Garden, but they did. And they did it in the same exact fashion, storming back from down 20 to steal victory from the jaws of defeat. We got a lot to talk about on today’s show, but first, if you’re fired up to be up 20 over the Boston Celtics, the reigning NBA champions, hit that thumbs up icon and let’s dive into [Music] it. You’re watching Knicks Now by Chat Sports. I am your host, Marshall Green. Appreciate everybody for being here. I have really no words following that win. And I’m going to try to find the best words to say to put color into the picture that the New York Knicks have painted through two games as they are up 20 over the Boston Celtics. They win game two 91 to 90. And it was the same song in the same dance. They dug themselves in an early hole, but then the grittiness, the heart, the toughness, and the will to win shine through for this team. Before I get into my biggest takeaways, I think overall, I’ll just say this. This is the best thing you could have ever saw from the New York Knicks in the first two games. You could have not asked for a better outcome. I’m not going to say games because the Knicks can play a lot better than they have in the first two games. But the best news yet when it comes to the outcome and having an opportunity to be two games away from getting to the conference finals for the first time in 25 years with game three and game four being at Madison Square Garden. Let’s start with this though and I want everyone to understand that this series is not over. It’s not the first to one win or the first to two wins or the first to three wins. It is the first to four wins. And we’ve seen this Boston Celtics team a couple of years ago, maybe a couple of different players, but led by Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown where they went down three nothing to the Miami Heat and then they won three games in a row and they forced to game seven and the Miami Heat ended up winning that ball game. So, as happy as we are and as excited as we all should be and are, this series is not over. We’re in the Knicks. I’m not going to say game three is a must-win game, but it is a must-win to get at least one. Like, it is absolutely needed to win one of those games. Cuz if you go back to TD Garden tied up at two a pop with game five on their home floor, you’re dancing with the devil and you are walking a scary scary path. Find a way to win game three or four. And if you just want to flex your muscles, win both. And let’s sweep them. and let’s show everybody that we are the best team in the Eastern Conference. Like, job’s not finished. Shout out to the great Kobe Bryant. Rest in peace. This quote rings so true for me this morning. Jobs not finished. What are you smiling about? I don’t know. Job’s not finished. What’s there to be excited about? Still two more games to go. And two wins against the Boston Celtics are going to be even these two wins are going to be harder to get than what you got in the first two games. and he had to come back from 20 points in those ball games. Keep playing like there is no tomorrow. Do not play like your belly is full. Do not feel like you have already done enough cuz you haven’t cuz it’s the first of four. Not to two. Keep playing with that hunger, that spirit, and that will to do whatever it takes to win. Keep finding a way to find a way to win games. Like I do want to make this clear as well. This team is special, ladies and gentlemen. There is a feeling, an aura, just a overall juice around this team that feels different. Enjoy it, Knicks fans. There’s a lot of people that watch this channel that have never seen the Knicks have playoff success. They haven’t been to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000, and I know there are thousands of people that are 24 years and younger that watch this channel and have never seen it. 30-year-olds like myself, I don’t really remember them going to the NBA finals in 99 or the conference finals in 2000s. Enjoy it. No team in NBA history, regular season or playoffs, have won back-to- back games on the road where they had to come back from 20 plus points in the second half. It’s never been done. Appreciate this. Enjoy it. Things like this don’t happen. Especially for New York teams. This team is special. Not going to say it’s a team of destiny, but I’m awfully close to saying it. Let’s show some love to the players. Mitchell Robinson. Give me some 23s in the chat. I was someone that wanted the Knicks to trade Mitchell Robinson at the deadline. I’ve always been a little bit pessimistic with Mitchell Robinson because he is a limited offensive player. He can’t make free throws. He is someone that has not been able to really progress through his game in the way that we want him to, but he’s the longest tenure Nick. He’s been a part of this organization longer than anybody else on this roster, and he deserves all the flowers he can possibly get for the performance he put forth in game two. Like, we’re going to talk about the play on Tatum. We’re going to talk about the steal on Al Horford and the overall just impact he brought to this team when they put together 13 straight stops to erase a 20point game. And I’m not the biggest fan of plus minus stats, but it’s hard to ignore this one. The highest plus minus in round two of the NBA playoffs. Number one in the league is Shay Gilis Alexander. When he is on the floor, his team is outscoring the opponent by 35 points. Mitchell Robinson off the bench when he is on the floor. The Knicks are outscoring the Celtics by 32 points. Joe Missoula, Missouo, Missoula, I don’t care. Uh he was scared to see Mitchell Robinson out there. So much so he was willing to foul their team into the bonus to get Mitchell Robinson off the floor because the impact that he is having is evident. They cannot score when he is on the floor. They cannot attack the basket. And Mitch has showed everybody that he’s still got the ability to switch on the wings and be able to hang on the perimeter. Like this was in my opinion the play of the game. Rips the ball from Al Horford, beats him to the ground to steal it. The Knicks get out in transition and this felt like it was just the play that really changed the game as well as a hundred other plays which we’ll talk about. But this one, I just thought represented what the New York Knicks and Mitchell Robinson is all about. Finding a way, doing whatever it takes. Major shout out to Mitch. And then what about on the last play of the game? They set a screen on Robinson. He fights under. He switches on to Tatum. Stays in front of him on the perimeter. Forces him to go left. forces him to score or attempt to score into the teeth of the defense with OG and an Obi right there. And Male Bridges on his back and Male Bridges did what he always does, which is make gamewinning plays on defense. You do not win this game without Mitchell Robinson. You’re not up 20 without Mitchell Robinson. Major salute to you, my man. You deserve all the credit in the world. Injuries have tried to derail your career time and time again, and you fought back. You kept with it. and now you’re making plays that could potentially put the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Make sure you are subscribed to the channel. We’re going to be live for game three, game four, and if any other games are necessary, major shout out to over the old all everyone over 134,000 people tuned into our live stream for game two. I’m expecting a bigger crowd for game three and I don’t want you to miss it. number one place on YouTube to watch a Knicks game with hundreds of thousands of diehard Knicks fans. So, subscribe, turn those notifications on, and thank you to everybody for helping us get to 66,000 subscribers. Male effing Bridges. A lot of people say, “Marshall, you are way too up and down. You are a hypocrite when it comes to male Bridges.” I I just kind of live by this. play good, talk good, play bad, talk bad. And I may be a hypocrite, but man, his play is up and down. And I’ve never really seen anything like this. At one point during that game, he was 0 for 10 or whatever it was, and he was three of 21 through the series, but then in the fourth quarter, he found a way to just get it going when the Knicks needed it most. They were able to trim the lead down to 12. And then Male Bridges rattles off 14 points in the fourth, hitting step back jumper after step back jumper after tough tough bucket after tough bucket. Six clutch buckets that kept the Knicks alive and gave them the belief that they could win this game. Zero points in the first three quarters. Didn’t make a shot obviously, but 14 big ones in the fourth quarter. And who you going to call when you need a stop? We need a game-changing steal, a game-winning se steal, a game sealing block. It’s Male Bridges. He did it in game one against Jaylen Brown and then Jason Tatum thought he was going to win the game and uh yeah, he didn’t. Stopped again by Mitchell uh by Male Bridges with Mitchell Robinson pushing him to the left. Some awesome stuff here from Tommy Beer. Probably the best account on Twitter for the Knicks. Show him some love. Give him a follow. Shout out to Tommy. Super awesome guy. Male Bridges has the best differential percentage among all qualified wings in the 2025 playoffs. opponents are shooting just 38 of 104 against Bridges, which is more than 10 10% below their average. In fact, there are only four non-enters with a differential percentage of minus 1.5% or greater this postseason. Three of those four Knicks are Bridges, OG, and Hart. What male Bridges is actually doing is is unbelievable. Um, man, it’s Has it been frustrating this year for him and for fans? Absolutely. Has it been up and has it been down? Absolutely. But man, if you keep winning games on the defensive side of the ball, um, you’re going to have a lot more fans than you ever thought you did. Major shout out to 25 and major shout out to OG and an Obi as well. These two wings are changing the way the Knicks play basketball. OG didn’t have it on offense. I think he only scored five points in game two. But the Celtics are now shooting 7 of 34. 20.5% the first two games of Nick Celtics went defended by OG and an Obi. A lot of people said, “Why are we paying OG and an Obi $200 million? It’s to stop Jaylen Brown and to stop Jason Tatum.” And that is what the New York Knicks are having OG and Anobi do. Defense always will win championships. And when the Knicks were trailing 84 to68 with under nine minutes left in the game, the Knicks secured 13 consecutive defensive stops. 13 possessions in a row. Boston did not score. A lot of talk about clutch buckets for Bridges and clutch buckets from Brunson and we’ll talk about Captain, but you don’t win that game unless you string together 13 straight stops. Like this is why you make these moves. This is why you give up five picks for Male Bridges. This is why you give up $200 million. There’s an RJ Bar and Emanuel Quickley to go get OG and an Obi. These guys are special and they’re playing at an unreal level and I hope everybody’s appreciating what they’re seeing. Got to talk a little bit more about a couple more players. Josh Hart, Duce, McBride, Jaylen Brunson. But first, make sure you’re hooked up with our Knicks now t-shirts. If you’re a real one and you bleed orange and blue, go to chatsports.comrealnicks. That’s chatsports.com/realicks. We’ve got the blue one, we’ve got the black one. Get your shirts today so you can have them for the remainder of the postseason run. That link will be clickable down in the comments and description of today’s show. The Knicks were once again staring at a 20point deficit late in the third quarter later than what it was in game one. And then Josh Hart hit a corner three and then Josh Hart hit a wing three and then Deuce McBride drove coast to coast and threw it down. And then Deuce McBride hit a three. And just when you thought the Knicks were out of it, Josh Hart and Duce McBride said, “Hold on, we’re going to find a way to get it done.” These two guys deserve a lot of credit for this Knicks comeback. Josh Hart was playing like his hair was on fire like he always does. And when the Knicks needed him most, he was able to show up and show out. Deuce McBride coast to coach drive, throwing it down, no one stopping the ball, and then Deuce hits a left wing three. Like this game was dead. It was over. And you get six clutch points from Hart. You get five clutch points from Deuce McBride. And you started to see the gears starting to run and move. And the juice for the Knicks continuing to pick up. 23 points, six rebounds, three assists. I think he had five rebounds in the fourth quarter. Many of them being offensive. And I go back to what Josh Hart told Mitchell Robinson a couple of playoffs ago. I get rebounds that break people. And uh Josh Hart, he broke the Boston Celtics three of six from three. Like they dared him to shoot. They wished he’d shoot and he did. And he made three big ones and he gave the Knicks a win. And as always, game takeaway number five. Uh I said it in the preview video. I said it after game one. I said it before game two. And I’m going to continue to say it. Just keep it close. like just keep it close and let Jaylen Brunson do what Jaylen Brunson does which is win games in the clutch for his team better than anybody else. Tommy Beer again most clutch points this postseason. Jaylen Brunson 41. The next closest Carl Anthony Towns with 21. Then Tyrese Hallebertton in 18 and Aaron Gordon at 16. Aaron Gordon and Tyrese Hallebertton have essentially won their teams multiple games here in the playoffs. 18 plus 16 is 34. They’re still seven points less when it comes to clutch scoring than Jaylen Brunson. Also, the Boston Celtics haven’t scored as many points in the clutch as a team as a team that Jaylen Brunson has. 14 points for Brunson through two games in the clutch. Was he at his best? No. Did he struggle? Absolutely. did he couldn’t find a way, couldn’t crack the code. It was arguably one of his worst playoff games as a Knick prior to the fourth quarter. When the game’s on the line, he’s always going to be there. Like, we have waited and prayed and hoped and wished for a player like this for a long, long, long time. I don’t want people to take for granted what Jaylen Brunson is doing. He has saved New York Knicks basketball. Um, appreciate 11, man. He is a special person, a special player, and he put New York City basketball back on the map. As proud as I am of him for what he does in the clutch, which I just expect at this point because that’s who he is, the way he has competed his tail off on defense, has given the Knicks an opportunity to win these games. Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum have tried to matchup hunt Jaylen Brunson time and time and time and time again and it hasn’t worked for him. Brown and Tatum are shooting a combined eight of 23. That’s less than 35% from the floor when guarded by Jaylen Brunson through the first two games of this series. Like Jaylen Brunson is a good team defender. Jaylen Brunson is a high IQ player. want to take charges, but everyone always talks about, man, you’re never going to be able to win because you can’t defend. Always guarding the two guys that were the best players in the NBA finals last year. Salute Jaylen Bro. I I I still can’t believe it. I can’t believe the Knicks won that game. I can’t believe the Knicks won game one. I can’t believe we’re up 2. Anyone that said that they thought the Knicks were going to be up 20, they’re a liar or they’re just lying and capping for for clicks. Uh, no one thought this. Absolutely nobody. And they proved us all wrong. And I hope they still prove us wrong. Last thing, Tom Tibido, man, you’re coaching your tail off. You deserve a lot of credit. I have been loud about Tom Tibido not being the right guy for this job and not being the coach that can get this team to its ceiling. Still worry a little bit about on the offense. 91 points isn’t going to consistently win you games against the Boston Celtics, but holy if this team can keep holding them to 90 points, they’re going to be going places they haven’t been in a long, long time. Tibs, salute to you. You got these boys ready. They’re not quitting. and you’re coaching your tail off. You’re pulling all the right strings. Shout out to you. 20 job’s not finished. Go win game three and let’s just get it over in game four. Make sure you are following me on social media. I’m on Twitter, Marshall Green_. I’m on Instagram, Marshall Green_. Appreciate everybody for being here. We’ll be live back on the channel on Saturday, an hour before tip off. So, subscribe, turn those notifications on, and let’s go Knicks. 1. People are unsure about how the Knicks are winning. Why? They could have done this same thing last year except that there were injuries to Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle and OG Anunoby. This year we ADDED Mikal Bridges along with having a completely healthy team.

The Celtics have always had a serious weakness under Joe Mazzulla: They rely far too much on 3 pointers….which they didn't do under Ime Udoka. If you're hitting them, it's all good. But if not, the other team gets the rebound and can get to the other side and possibly get fouled.

The Knicks are winning because they stopped jacking up 3s and playing iso except when necessary and started playing as a team on both ends of the floor. Launching 3s isn't a recipe for victory unless it's the old Phoenix Suns team with Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw, Shawn Marion, etc. or Golden State with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, etc. Otherwise you can shoot yourself out of the game. I'm not complaining because the Knicks are winning.

  2. When a toxic friend or significant other said to you that they are trying to build bridges, you say this to their face:

    "YOU COULDN'T BUILD MIKAL BRIDGES!"

  3. The Knicks are schooling the Celtics, as I said they could, by NOT launching or jacking up a ton of 3s. Notice that when the Knicks were doing that, they were losing both against the Pistons and the Celtics. That's also what's weakening the Celtics.

The main reason that the Knicks are winning is because the coach is pushing the players to:

move well without the ball, set screens that allow players to get off shots before defenders can reach them, pass faster out of double teams, cutting to the rim & then passing the ball to the center, doing more pick n' rolls, getting out in transition before the other team's defenders can get back (Josh Hart is nearly unstoppable on the open floor), moving well without the ball which allows them to get more open shots by shaking defenders, passing faster in general, forcing turnovers, getting steals, speeding up the pace and cutting to the rim for passes that lead to easy baskets on the run.

If they keep doing this…they should easily take game 3. We need to do this for 48 minutes though. However I think the Knicks should also try to do a couple of other things to make sure they win the next game:

1.-Do more ally oops. KAT and Mitch are bigger and so they should be able to dunk over the Celtics players especially since Porzingis isn't a 100%. And even if he is…they should do it anyway.

2.-Use the bench more. Delon Wright can block shots, get in the passing lanes, force turnovers, steal the ball, pass well and get out in transition. Deuce McBride can defend at a high level, shoot 3s, get out in transition, get in the passing lanes, steal, drive to the rim and pass. Their defense would allow OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges to get more rest. Landry Shamet can shoot 3s and Ariel Hukporti can score in the paint, block shots, finish on ally oops, finish on pick n' rolls and rebound.

3.-Put KAT in the mid range area so that he can pass to guys on the perimeter or the guy at the rim. This will make it harder to double team him.

We shouldn't take this team for granted. I still like our chances against them if the Knicks keep playing with this fast pace and tough defense.

  4. The problem with Mikal Bridges is still the Knicks' style…which it took me a while to realize. Mikal is a slasher. Thibs wants him to simply shoot 3s. As a result, he is hot and cold. However the team could make help him to score more consistently by:

1.-getting him to run in transition with Josh Hart

    2.-speeding up the pace

3.-having him cut to the rim for passes that lead to easier baskets on the run

4.-setting screens that would allow him to get shots up before defenders can get to him

5.-drawing double teams then kicking the ball out to him in the midrange area…which is his strength similar to DeMar DeRozan or Jimmy Butler.

6.-having another guy pretend to post up and then passing it to Mikal as he's running to the rim.

I've always believed that Mikal Bridges has the talent to be an all star. That's why I was pushing the team to get him last season.

  5. I was surprised when people were wondering why we were paying OG Anunoby. The guy is a superstar defender. He: gets in the passing lanes, forces turnovers, blocks shots, steals the ball and is a master pest on that end of the floor. But now he's scoring like a borderline all star as well.

OG has a style that some of the other Knicks players don't. He: has a euro step, finishes in transition like Josh Hart does but after stealing the ball, can drive to the rim, can do power dunks (one was stolen from him by the referees), has a few wizard spin moves–though not the same as Jalen Brunson or Julius Randle and can knock down 3s.

We also have seen him get that all star fire at certain moments…similar to the way Jalen Brunson does…though he's not clutch like Brunson is. Of course not many players are like Captain Clutch. The guy has been worth every penny the Knicks gave him.

  6. Robinson is the X Factor in these series. I’ve been hoping that Thibs start the twin towers, because Mitch is more valuable at the beginning of a quarter rather than towards the end of one where they play hatch a Mitch. Also, Precious needs some play.

  7. You was just saying not to long ago the Bridges trade was shaping up to be a good one now there’s an aura? Ahh man smh LETS GO KNICKS

  8. I grew up in Harlem and have been a Knicks fan since 1968 and this year's team has shown they are as tough as any other playoff Knicks team. Their defensive intensity on the wing with Duce, Hart, Bridges and additional help from OG has been outstanding. Then downlow you have the Block-nest monster in Robinson whose lengthy rehab has paid off with his defensive presence along with his elite offensive rebounding. OG and Bridges have equally shut down the Boston Crickets front court players in both games 1&2 making key steals and blocks in critical 4th quarter moments. Last but not least Cat has been a beast on the boards and big play late in both games.
Now we bring it home to MSG 🏟️ LGK‼️
    ✊🏽😎🏀💙🧡

  9. The hard and agreesive defense is the key!!!of the New York Knicks I salute to mikal "Iron Man"bridges and OG "British Bulldog" for the great defense!!!

  10. I knew it was possible and I’ve been posting stating that pistons got us ready for war cause Boston isn’t as physical

  11. I’m from the heart of Georgia and I am a die hard Knicks fan since Sprewell and Houston and it really feels good to be up 2-0 returning to MSG. We haven’t been in this position since I first fell in love with the Knicks. All the laughter and trash talk I’ve taken from ppl over the years but I never wavered. I always wore my Knicks gear proudly thru all the bad. Everyone gave us no chance in this series and I told them they were smoking dope. This team is different from the ones before but The job isn’t done we have to win at least one of these home games! Let’s end the drought!

  12. 23 ISA DOGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!, ON DEFENSE, PERIOD!!!!!, BRIDGES IS A DOGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!, THEY ARE ALL FINALLY PLAYING TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR!!!!

  13. Salute to "Captain Clutch"jalen brunson,The "BigKat"karl anthony towns, the "Iron Man"mikal bridges, josh the "Stone Man"hart and the "British Bulldog"o.g anunoby +the presence of the "Big Rob"mitchell robinson,go!go!go! Knicks!!!!!!

  14. I don't want to hear ANYONE cry if/when the Celts come back. I love my Knicks but the reality is that the celts are better in all but two areas…brunson and OG…good luck Knicks

  15. Game 3 is a must win we are not satisfied. We wanna snatch Boston Celtics up and show them the doors . We get back to New York it's over.

  16. They would not have been down by 20 points if it had not been for Mikhail Bridges he played so badly in the first half especially the first quarter I wanted him benched for the rest of the game

  17. Everyone who brings up the knicks 0-4 record against Boston forgets mitch missed the first 3 games and then brunson was still coming back in the 4th game. This team isn't that team.

  18. You've been playing the minutes police all year and complaining about Mlkal Bridges all year and the 5 picks. Maybe you should let the pros like Leon and Thibbs do what they do and stop giving them hell about their decisions. They obviously know how to run a team.

  19. The knicks are due to have an offensive explosion. The Coaching chess match will be interesting for the rest of the series. I know Thibs has an Ace up his sleeve, a wrinkle that Mezzula is not anticipating… lgk

  20. We are so close stay focus guys, I have seen both chips and want to see a third I am a Fan since the age of 7, and this is the most talented unit since 73 and they are clicking

  21. THIS HAS GRIT AND FIGHTER SPIRT TO COME BACK FROM 20PTS DOWN IS EPIC TO SAY THE LEAST BUT WE GOTTA KEEP IT GOING AND FINSH THEM OFF AT THE MSG LET'S GO KNICKS!!!!!!

  22. From as far as I can say.. being a fan all these years .. gearing up for this spot is wat they being doing.. to beat Boston… But is it not over yet… One game at at times…

  23. I've seen the Knicks made bad decisions in the 94 to 95 seasons…. against Houston…. don't even get me started with 99…. or 97….
