NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves GAME 4 LIVE | May 12, 2025 | WCSF 2K25
Butler, one of two, driving again on Goar. Stop, spins, puts up the shot. It’s good. His second basket. Connley finds the cutting. Edwards drives through the lane. Beautiful move. He’s gotten so good at that downhill. Always under control. You got both posts who started game two, played three minutes, and Payton is the first reserves for Golden State. Edwards wrap around to go bear for the slam. Blocked at the apex. Kaminga penetrates. Butter is good. Plus one. Now Butler one-on-one against Steven Enenzo on the face up. Spinning. Got deep and gets the roll. It’s a two-point game. Turnover. Kaminga. Twoonone. Payton takes it himself and lays it home. Shot with confidence in this game. I They’re doing a great job in the paint getting to the line. There’s Jimmy Butler again. Peyton wanted no part of that, so he gets it back out to Butler. McDaniels on him. Butler past him into the lane underneath Green puts it in. Six from three. And Pajki is doing an incredible job on the defensive glass right now. Coming up with every ball that comes in his direction. Caught the basket. Butler and a foul with the ball down two. Dominga drives at Go. What a move. Go Bear tried to block it. Jackson Davis ahead to Butler. Majki wide open. Three is good. Butler against Ant-Man. Shot clock at seven. Butler. Oh, what a spin. Remember, he heard it in game two. Heard it also in the first round. He has not looked like himself. And he always plays through injury. As Butler fanks it home. And Butler gets past Reed. Good defense, Reed. Knocked it away, but the Warriors keep. Shot clock at four. Here’s Butler for three. Jimmy Butler with his second three ball to the corner. Shot clock at seven. McDaniels puts it on the floor. Missed the dunk. Draymond Green just fouled out to Randall. Swing it. McDaniels fires and nails it. Swishes home a three. Takes him to the sideline and then it’s just twoonone on the weak side. No field goals in six minutes for Golden State. Tough shot by Kaminga. Great tip by Buddy Heel. Looney there with the offensive rebound. Back to Kaminga. Stripped Edwards. What a play. McDaniels ahead to Randall. Randall got caught in the air. Fleas for Goar who slams it down. And the Minnesota Timberwolves have won. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Skip. Dancing. I can’t show you. about the offensive approach we’ve seen so far for the Warriors. The name of the game in the modern NBA is making threes, spacing the court, and that’s exactly what they are doing tonight. And the other thing we’ve seen them do well tonight is drop outs. Time and time again throughout this game, they’ve won trips to the line and converted. And the technical free throw is good. still a solid point guard in this league. When Connley is healthy, he makes a considerable impact on both ends. And Minnesota has possession, seven-point differential. Reed with a screen for Connley. A three-pointer off the mark. A good board there, Kevin, but overall they’re getting slightly outrebounded. And so in the game for the Timberwolves, Connley and Edwards are the guards. handle out there with Nikquille Alexander Walker and it’s Reed and at the five down low from deep. Green trains it from beyond the arc. Green’s got two now from beyond the arc in the third for the Warriors. Hley with it. 12 points for him. Master Edwards wide open look. The Warriors pull it in. Hey, look. I’m not going to lie here. That’s a shot that he needs to be making. There are no excuses. Payton with the ball, driving to the basket, and he drops in the layup off the glass. And now it’s a 12point Warrior lead. Love how selfless he is setting brick screens like this. Plays like that right there are what help create easy scoring opportunities. Now, here’s Randall. 14 points for him. The shot from the low post is good. Randle’s got 16 points and you know he’s enjoyed the kind of day you expect in terms of shooting the basketball. He can bring them right back into this game. Pass to Moody to the wing on the left side. Kinga shot clock at five. Here’s Spencer sheets it up. Rebound by Alexander Walker. Timber rolls trail by 10. Tyler the pass to Edwards. Edwards getting the close range too. And he’s a true inside out threat. Edwards wants to score from everywhere on the floor. Here’s Spencer over by Connley. Count that one. 11 points in the game. And after really leaning on that three-point shot in the first half, seemed like they’re just getting away from it here in the second. More of the shots coming from the interior. Now here’s Reed. Back to Randall. Reed with a screen on paper. Here’s Randall. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Green’s got double digit rebounds now in the game. Stolen by Michael Connley. It’s Edwards on the wing. Defended by Moody. Edwards looking it over. Imman Green with the rebound. Green’s got rebound number 11 for him here tonight. Here’s Spencer. 11 points in the game. Green with a screen for Payton. Krills the three-pointer. Payton’s got five points now in the quarter. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the deep. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. And we’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. He wants to check in with his team and regroup. Both teams will make substitutions. We’ve got 118 left to play in the third. Randall outside shoots from the baseline and the jumper is good. Randle’s got 18 points in the game and we’ve seen Randall add a three-point shot. However, this is the area of the court he’s most comfortable that mid-range. Here’s Spencer. Pass to Keane. 20 ft out. Minnesota with the rebound. Well, they’ll be happy with that look even though it didn’t fall. Tough to watch those miss. I’m sure they’ll convert the next chance. Oh, here’s Randall. He’s got 18. Down to five on the shot clock. Basket number eight is all good. He’s attempted 12 shots. They are just killing them on the interior. 1 second separating the shot clock and game clock. Here’s Spencer. He’s got 11 to the middle. Here’s Keane. And he takes it in for the layup off a very nice feed. He’s got his first points of the game. Big miscommunication on defense. He recognizes it and quickly. Oh, and he got the call. Wow. Wow. What a way. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors in the driver’s seat up eight points at the end of the quarter. They’re pounding the ball inside and that’s where they’ve gotten their best production tonight. We come back right after this. And while we can now, let’s take a look at today’s State Farm assist of the game. Just true artistry right there. I mean, great decision on where to go with the ball. And how about the perfect delivery? A lot of times a spectacular pass is more impressive than a spectacular shot. This is one of those times. And we welcome you back to game four on 2K Sports. So with Butler sitting on the bench, here’s the group that Steve Cerr has on the floor. They’ve got Payton. He’s out there with Trace Jackson Davis and it’s post in at the center filling out the middle. A slight rebound advantage for them. One more column in their favor and it’s all adding up. Moody the pass to Spencer. Al Payton to the inside. Stolen by Reed. Here’s Minot. Jackson Davis defending. Clark outside. Pass to Devincenzo. Here’s Spencer. It’s stolen outside Edwards. And here’s Reed. Fourth quarter now. We’re about a minute and a half in. It’s taken away by Payton by himself and Payton throws it down. Well, so often we see this transition buckets off turnovers and there’s no defense for that. Live ball turnovers, they are the worst. Here’s Edwards. Sinks it from just inside the baseline. Edwards got 22. And getting aggressive and creative. Edwards finding ways to create space on the floor. Payton against Clark. Payton passes. Dispenser. Back to Payton. Just five on the clock and a miss there on the triple. Timberwolves trail by 10. Just under two and a half minutes gone here in the final quarter. Pass to May from downtown and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Payton passes to Spencer. Here’s Jackson Davis. lets it go from deep. Spencer shot his arm. And even with good coverage defensively that time, he has confidence to drill the three. Yeah, way to play in attack mode and get to the line. And the first one and the Warriors making a change here. Santos has checked in and a change for the Timberwolves. Hanley’s checked in. And so Clark nails both of them. Warriors leading by eight. Here’s Spencer. Pass to Payton. Peyton with a screen on C. Six to shoot. Here’s Spencer by Connley. Spencer shot his home. Dan Clark has got the ball here for the Timberwolves. Here in the fourth, they’ve allowed just four points. Near the three-point line is Edwards. The rebound by Post. Slow going for him this quarter. The defense putting up a good fight. Pass to Baiton inside. Oh, and there’s the one-handed jam. Nine just kind of stepping aside and wait and get to the rim. There’s a reason GA the lead is what it is right now. Yeah, it’s going to take better rim protection than that if they’re going to climb out of this hole. And he’s got the smarts to take advantage of the shaky defense. Connley’s been around the block a few times. And that one falls for Mike Connley. This is as good as it gets from the charity strike here in the second. Different look here for the Warriors. Ken Connley drops them both. Yeah, he’s perfectly comfortable doing work at the line. Warriors leading by eight. Pass to Moody. Butler in the corner from 11 ft away and that one goes long for Minnesota. They’ve gone just one or six from the field to start the fourth quarter. A bit of a slow showdown for them right now. Connley versus Clark. Out to Connley to Clark. It’s Edwards on the wing defended by Kaminga. Edwards shot is good. A good read by Edwards playing at his pace and carving out space for that shot. Down low and stolen by Butler and it’s the Warriors on the break. He can’t get that one to fall. Some solid defense from Clark and Butler sends it back and known as a defensive stopper. Butler is fantastic at coming up with the goods. The Warriors lead it. Pass to Green. To the paint. Oh, no. Stoping by that time. Moving it around. Eight of their last 10 coming off assist. The Timber Jimber Wolves have gotten only three of their nine field goal attempts to go down since the end of the third. Pretty close down the stretch. Reed with a screen for Conley and it’s blocked now. Pajki Dominguez and Kaminga comes it down. Oh, inflicting some punishment with the two hand clutch. They’re going for the throat. Now here is Connor to the left side wing. Walter Reed. Nice ball movement by Minnesota for three. Edwards. Edwards shooting fearlessly from the arc. And you have to stay up on Edwards out there, which is dangerous because he’s so good at going right around. Warriors leading by five. Pass to Penski. Butler. A screen on this one for three. Shot by Pajki. No good. One made three for him for the game. Does he focus closer in? Let’s see. The kicks to Edwards. Edwards flashing inside. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Kaminga got five rebounds tonight. In the corner, Moody with it. Clark outside pass to Devenenzo. Back to Clark. It’s up a three. Rebound by Butler. The Warriors are gone. Five of 11 from the field in the fourth quarter. To the inside and the slam by Moody. There’s the allaround game of Butler. A nice assist to cash in on that possession. Timberl seven. We’ve got a timeout called from Chris Finch. He’s not taking any chances and wants to huddle him up right away. Heels checked in for Moody. Timberwolves also changing it up. Rudy Goar is checked in for Reed. Handle comes in for Clark and it’s McDaniels in for Dante Devincenzo. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter David Aldridge. David, I was able to listen in on what Chris Finch told the team. Now, coach talked all about fouls in that huddle. He reminded them, play defense with their feet, beat them to the spots, hands straight up. Don’t give them a chance to blow the whistle on us. Back to you, Ben. Thank you, David. It’s tipped and stolen by Green. A finish and Green slams it in. Doing everything himself. I love it when Green uses his defense to create offense. Conley kicks to Edwards. Conley with a screen on heel to Randall. Back to Edwards. Six on the shot clock. And how about the commitment from Edwards refusing to give up on that play. They throw good. Edwards And Edwards drops him both. And what you love about Edwards is how intense he is. Guy plays hard every minute he’s on the floor. Green kicks to heel. Vajimsky on the wing over by Connley. Field sets the pick for Green. Five to shoot. Basket good. Green’s got four points now in the quarter. He has been a key factor for them offensively, scoring with consistency. To Randall, Hunley spanning the floor and once again off the mark by Minnesota. And he didn’t punish them for the weak coverage there, but they can’t count on him to continue missing. Now Pajimski McDaniels defending and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on that one. And the second free throw. Good. Timberwolves trail by 10. Outside Edwards. Go Bear with a screen for Edwards. A three-pointer is right on target. Edwards got a pair of threes here in the fourth quarter for the Timberwolves. healed outside. Back to Butler over Randler and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. And what I appreciate about Butler is how tough he is. This guy welcomes going into contact while shooting. He’s off on the first. He hits the second from the line. A highly talented two-way player. Butler is also known for his tough-nosed approach to the game. Outside Edwards fades and it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Edwards. Let’s take a second look at that fantastic block. Well, they didn’t make it this far by giving up easy ones. And now their defense is in overdrive. Warriors leading by eight. And here is Butler. 14 ft away and the shot is good. Dropping in off the front of the rim and continuing to add to his offense over time. Butler excels at breaking down the defense. Takes a step back. Edwards gets it done inside. And obviously his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight. He’s just riding the wave of momentum right now. getting to his spots and keeping things simple on the offensive side. And he does it with and without the ball. But stuffing that statue healed against Edwards. 133 left in the fourth quarter. Golden State’s gone 03 so far in the fourth quarter from long range. Pass to Butler. Now, here’s Hee. Edwards defending. Healed against Edwards. He can’t hit. And you got to give credit to the D for never giving up on the play and doing just enough to bother him at the rim. You know, one thing you have to admire about Randall is his hunger to get better. He is a real leader who leads by example. He hits the first one and that brings them within single digits. And he is unable to get the second one. Boy, he sure like to have that mis. Hard to chip away at a lead when you’re leading freebies at the line. Back to Pajki. Randle against Butler. How about the strength inside there from Butler? just excellent at finding ways to get the D to foul him down low. Shoot two gets the first and that’ll push the lead to double digits. He’s perfect from the line this time. There’s 45 seconds left in the game. Here’s Edwards. And Edwards slams it in. Here’s Butler heel with a screen on Randall. He’s feeling it. He gets that one.
