EVERYTHING just changed…

Everything just changed for the Toronto Raptors is of course the NBA draft lotteryies tomorrow. And the Toronto Raptors spent the entire past season to get one of those top talents in this year’s NBA draft. And common malwatch is a guy we have talked about a ton on this Raptors channel. But Cooper Flag is the big mission, the guy everyone has their eyes turned to in tomorrow’s draft lottery and getting the number one overall selection. And while that’s still the goal, capturing that flag, it’s the, you know, battlecry we had this entire season while we were losing games, there has been a major development that just happened that frankly has flipped the script in terms of the Toronto Raptors positioning and where you can expect to draft and who’s going to be where out there because Malawatch just had a video release, a couple updates in regards to him being a much more intriguing prospect and was already there and he was already a guy expected to go in the top content. So, we’re going to discuss what the Toronto Raptors are looking for in the NBA lottery. Why Raptors fans are looking at Melatch now as a guy that, hey, maybe he’s just the piece we want to run full tilt with anyways and how we should be looking forward ahead to this year’s draft lottery. So, so much to break down out here in this video. But folks, make sure you guys hit that subscribe button if you haven’t already. We are on that road to, you know, get to 38,000 subscribers in order to maximize our chances of acquiring Cooper Flag in tomorrow’s draft. We will be going live in reaction to the Giraffe lottery as of course this is the biggest night of the season for a lot of Raptors fans and capture that flag. So hyping that up here right now. But a new report just dropped that frankly makes a lot of Raptors fans will make it feel easier if we don’t end up getting that number one overall selection. Now why? Because Kamalatch is a guy that we’ve talked about a ton out here on the channel. You know he’s 18 years old. The guy is 72. He played for Cooper Flags team in Duke and really impressed over the course of his freshman season with the Duke Blue Devils and he is projected to, you know, land in the NBA draft like NBA Tankathon has him projected to directly to go to the Toronto Raptors. If we look at a CBS mock draft, they have him going the pick after where the Raptors are projected to be selecting a pick eight. So he is a piece while I’ve seen a variance in terms of where he’s projected to land out there in the NBA draft. He seems like the guy just positioning wise and everything Messiah Juri said in his history in terms of drafting. And he said, you know, we will be going for the best players available. According to Messiah Jury, it’s uh the answer everyone gives. But yeah, it’s a unique draft and we feel we’ll have a talented player available uh wherever we select. Uh we tried to get one that fits our ball club. Yeah, we need another young big. We would definitely look into that, but it’s not really focused on that to be honest. there’s a lot of talented kids. So, while he says he’s going to take the best talent available, he understands getting a young talented big man is a center focus for the Toronto Raptors, it’s uh you know, we’ll see how things shake out. Of course, we’ll get more defined projections after this NBA draft lottery. But basically, common Malawatch is a guy that’s projected to go in that range. And given his stats last season, you know, it’s uh it makes sense because, you know, for the Duke Blue Devils last season, eight points per game, 6.6 six rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and not a ton of minutes, only 21 minutes per night. Was shooting 71% from the field, just overall a good player. And we know K Malawatch, we’ve talked about him on the channel. What’s the new update, Ben? What’s going on with Malawatch that has you getting excited? Well, it’s a little leaked kind of workout video because you see the number there. He only took 0.4 threes uh per game, shooting 25% of the three-point line. The form looked nice. There wasn’t uh there’s question marks about his development as a three-point shooter, but videos are coming out right now. Videos are coming out right now that have a lot of just NBA fans excited about his development cuz he uh a video leaked I’ll show bits of it here where he knocked down 14 straight threes. And if you look at that release, you look at that sort of set point. It is very high up. It’s not as slow, you know, the the classic the summer threes from air Johnson back in the day. It’s a pretty, you know, sor big man. It’s a pretty solid release out there from the three-point line. and he is just knocking down three after three. And you know, we know he can finish around the basket. He can do different things around the the net with his size and athleticism, his mobility. But the three-point shooting that he’s been working on and having video evidence, I know sometimes we all get duped by uh, you know, the video evidence of people coming out and knocking down shots and knocking down threes, but to have a rookie come out before this NBA draft lottery, at least because we’re all projected different places, and knowing that there’s a 72 guy who is mobile, who can block a ton of shots, who can really come out and be that anchor on defense for this Raptor squad, the fact that he could also be a floor spacer for this team is an absolute suit just shoots him up in the modern NBA in terms of upside, in terms of value, in terms of where you could project him to actually land in your lineups. Now, of course, if we dive deeper in terms of the pros and cons to Match, there’s there’s some things on both sides in terms of what he’s uh he’s able to provide because he’s a great rim protector as we already discussed. You know, if you have that 72 frame, you have strength, you look at him, he’s got that strength, he’s got that size, come is definitely going to be able to uh, you know, that’s that’s his selling point. That’s why he’s the top 10 selection. and he’s very mobile. So, not only will he protect the rim, you put him in a switch action, you put him in one of these, you know, if he’s forced to hedge, you get a Nick Nurse style system coverage, right? He’s able to be in those positions and not get burnt every single time. So, that’s very, very encouraging for a player that is 72. Uh, he finishes around the rim. He’s a great law threat, which is exactly what you want to see. And now on the pros, you could see it. I added it there. He is now a potential floor spacer for the Toronto Raptors. And that’s what really should get fans excited. That should be, you know, on top of just, you know, cuz these centers always come in, they they have a ceiling if they can’t knock down shots, if they can’t knock down these thrs, but the fact that if he’s knocked it down from the three-point line, not only will that impact the ability to floor space because he’s a lob threat, but can also space the floor, also him as a free throw shooter, that has a big impact in terms of, you know, you see Yaka Purle struggle with this at times, getting fouled at the end of games and not being able to be out there in the court because he’s only making 50% of his free throws. that is not something you want to see for your center of the future, especially in a draft that’s as important as this for the Toronto Raptors. So, basically, lots of developments there. Of course, he’s not the perfect prospect and this is a little bit Jakey built, but essentially for everything I gather on the scouting reports, he doesn’t create his own shots. You know, he’s he’s set up through those lob threats and that’s why the jump shots probably even more important. If he can have a set shot, then he’s able to do these different things because he’s not creating his own shots. He’s not playmaking for anyone. And, you know, that’s the difference between a guy like him and, you know, even a Derrick Lively, right? And maybe he it develops into this. I mean, we saw Sergey Baka improved this with it when he joined the Toronto Raptors. But basically, it’s uh if you’re just in those positions where you can only uh you know catch around the rim and finish at the bus basket or you know take those set shots, you don’t have that added element of Marcus, Baka Purle, Sergy Bakanasing days with the Toronto Raptors where they’re in that mid post and they’re able to facilitate off of people. You know, that is something you like to see out of a big man in the modern NBA. And then apparently he’s also been inconsistent at times and undisiplined and you know for the Duke Blue Devils and why a couple of Monts had him going way later than a lot of Raptors fans would expect. Uh but you know it’s because they had that ugly flame out and Malawatch was not good in that final game for the Duke Blue Devils of his college basketball career. So that are all those are all things you have to factor in. Again, he was playing with Cooper flag. It’s uh this is something I want to make before the draft lottery before we go live tomorrow before we get all this stuff going because you know if we don’t get it we are still fine. It’s not like one of those drafts where it’s oh there’s only this amount of guys there a lot of people out there in the top 10 and the Raptors won’t fall below 10. There’s a lot of people out there in the top 10 that really can get you excited going into next season. So, you know, while the goal and I keep spamming this animation is getting Cooper flag out there, you know, get at at the top. But there are a lot of positives that the Toronto Raptors can move in with this direction moving forward in the future. But let me know what you guys think about all this in the comment section down below. Do you want to see Common Match become a Toronto Raptor? Let me know. Especially with the floor space, with the three-point shooting, everything along those lines. Anyways, you guys the best. I’m signing out. Cheers.

The Toronto Raptors have had their eyes on Khaman Maluach for a long time and headed into lottery night the Duke center is improving his draft stock with a massive update. Ben Rogers breaks it all down.

  1. I was already high on him, now everyone is on board meaning he may get taken before we get a chance. So sure, you are hyping up us but this just makes me think if we don't get a top 4 pick we not getting him

  2. I'm looking forward to the draft lottery being lucky for the Raptors tomorrow.
Then I look forward to subsequent draft lotteries, not meaning anything. 🤞

  3. NBA or college or HS 3s? That looked too close but, maybe because he is big and corner? I was saying it recently that you take CF, DH, but after that I would take him. Let the coaches and JP train him next 3 years into SB prime.

  4. Raps won't take or get Malauch, book it! When that many people are certain, you know it aint going that way, especially with MU. Why you assume they get their young big man in the draft? Or even 1st round?
You forgot to add in your evaluation, clumsy, doesnt play as big as his size, cant hit 3's, just started playing the gane 4 yesrs ago, has knocking knees and is a huge injury risk for size alone … All over 7 footers are riddled with injury problems – ask Embiid.

  5. Feel like they would take derik queen instead, he essentially has all the tools as a big he reminds me a little of damarcus cousins but way kess athletic, i think if he drops some weight he coukd be a problem

  6. Im feeling maluach over queen now since he is 2 years younger we could miss out on him he could go as high as 5 or 6. If we get fears or queen tho I'm just as happy

    Flag
    Harper
    Bailey
    Edgecomb
    Johnson
    Maluach
    Fears
    Queen
    Knuppel
    Murray Boyles
    Kasparis

  7. All depends where we land. But I don’t want to see Maluach in Raptors colours. Raps need Asa Newell. Not Maliach.

Also his USA entry eligibility is not cleared up. That’s a huge deal. He may not be able to play in the USA. He could unlikely slide to the 2nd round because of the first round guarantee.

Raps need a 4 with his size. Maliach cannot be a 4 – your blowing a 1st round pick on Jak’s backup.

  8. Just draft Rocco Zikarsky, in the second round and you have the back-up Centre of today and the starter of the future.

  9. I thought the us recently presented issues for people from south sudan. Maluach may not even be permitted to enter the US. So he will drop. In fact , it may be possible to get him much later.
