What do the Rockets need this offseason?

What do the Rockets need this offseason?

Here are three perfect moves for the Houston Rockets after their disappointing early exit from the playoffs. Despite going home in round one, this season was a massive win for Houston. They became one of the best defenses in the league and have a young nucleus to build around. But their number one priority is finding a number one scoring option. While Alpurn Shenon, Amen Thompson, Jaylen Green, and Jabari Smith Jr. all showed an immense amount of talent. None of them showed that they could elevate the Rockets offensively in the clutch. This Rockets team was 22nd in halfcourt offense this season. They were 23rd in fourth quarter offense all season. So make a trade and a big one. We know Kevin Durant is going to be available, but they should really try and go after Devin Booker. They have control of the Suns picks and that’s a perfect bargaining chip. And they have the young pieces to really entice Phoenix to start all over. or even if Giannis becomes available. I’m just saying. Now, the second goal is related to that. They should make sure that they don’t include Amen Thompson in any of these deals. Thompson was one of the most improved players all season and a bright young star with a massive ceiling. And finally, they need to resign Steven Adams. He was gigantic for the Rockets depth with his screening and rebounding, and they need to bring the big man back. But the Rockets have a busy summer and they will definitely be in active trade talks all off season.

  1. Keep developing the young core. I despise these takes of going for all-stars that already reached their ceiling. Please do not trade for Booker. Devin Booker hasn't even reached Westbrook's, Harden's level of seeing playoff success despite playoff disappointment.

You don't trade good young players with upside after their 1st Playoff series. Jalen Green may not look like the scorer they need, but this playoff series showed that JG is a key player. When JG scored in double digit points, Houston defeated the Warriors. When he scored single digits, they loss.

Then they have Cam Whitmore, Eason, Jabari Smith, Jae'Sean Tate, Aaron Holiday, and David Roddy (whom played well when he got minutes on the Grizzlies team).

    That's a potential second team/bench.

I agree they must resign Steven Adams. They need to keep this team and not trade anyone.

More coaching, studying the game, and developing the players.

Finding a #1 scoring option like Devin Booker will destroy the team, guaranteed. Kevin Durant is a great, but his career is over as far as a championship run.

I know people are going to say, trade for Giannis. I disagree with that, too. The Rockets need to stay together and improve. They're still very young with great upside and room for growth.

  2. Everybody keep saying trade everyone except Amen. Yall must be stupid don’t trade nun of em except maybe Fred, Jabari nd bench players or picks. Yall clearly dumb aff if they trade everybody else they finna just end up bein right back to assssss 🤦🏾‍♂️😂😂

  3. You don't trade a No. 2 seed with a roster of young players. These guys are inexperienced in the playoffs and still got this far and nearly defeated the Warriors. Remember that that Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler around Game 52 during the season, so that boosted the Warriors into a playoff team and barely made No. 7 seed, even with Jimmy. Jimmy helped them win 23 of 30 games during the season.

Without Jimmy, this Warriors team would have lost to the Rockets, hands down.

Breaking us this team in any kind of way will ruin this organization. Mark my words.

  4. The Number 1 thing those young players gotta work on this offseason.

    FREE THROWS!!!!!!!

    FREE THROWS!!!!!!!

    FREE THROWS!!!!!!!

    FREE THROWS!!!!!!!

    FREE THROWS!!!!!!!

    AND MORE FREE THROWS!!!!!!!!

  5. Jalen Green Suns Picks for KD. Is the only move we need to make. Giannis is out of the picture. Cannot loose Amen Sengun or Tari. KD is the lowest hanging fruit. And we loose the least. Plus gives us enough time to develop and win a chip at the same time. KD is the key. My asshole is the lock.

  6. They are all under 25 there is no reason to think they will not keep improving. I have no idea why people think they need to make trades.

  7. Funny, because some people thought green was better than Cade!! We all know that wasn’t true!!

  8. They could also go for Austin Reaves (unlikely as AR is an incredible 3rd option, the playoffs were just a bad slump for him) and we know AR can be the main ball handler and scoring option the team could need.

  9. I like book wit them but the problem is no real pg vanvleet tuff jus undersized starter. Cade sga halleburt derrickWhite Luka, all new age pgs just a big league now.

  10. There is so much talk about how bad Jalen Green played.
What about Sengun though a very large number of his shot attempts were poor decisions, yes he was primarily defended by Draymond Green but still.

  11. IMO trading for a “number one” option could wreck the team like so many others before them.

Most of the team is 23 or younger.
Still a few years from players typical primes – yes it’ll get costly, but so will bringing in a Superstar (lose one or two of your young guys, plus lose what could be very good draft picks).

This playoff experience was good for them, and a tough match up.

The went from missing the playoffs to a second seed. 41 wins to 52. They already on the right track.

Sengun, Green, Thompson, Smith, Eason, Whitmore, Sheppard still have a higher ceiling.

  12. Bro, they're 23! No experience in the playoffs and going against proven vets… that my friends is a recipe for disaster.

  13. Jalen Green 23
    Alperen Sengun 22
    Amen Thompson 22
    Jabari Smith Jr 21

Don’t trade any of them. I’m down for trading picks but this is a great young core that should be developed, not traded for an aging vet

  14. More importantly than a trade, they need some offensive assistant coaches. Ime Udoka knows nothing about the offensive side of the ball, he just preaches defense. You could tell in both series v. Warriors w/ Celtics and Rockets, he relies too much on stops and not enough on creating good looks on the offensive side of the ball.

  15. They would have to give up too much they wouldn’t be able to keep all their core guys which honestly not having a dominant score means they would be more unselfish. That’s probably why they’re so good.

  16. Bro, is just delusional they’re getting a player like Kevin Durant. They gotta give up all four of their mid “star players”

  17. 4 picks, reed, jabarri smith, green, andd maybe tari eason orr cam witmoore(one of those two at the end)
this can be enough for a kd or booker. Giannis? not sure

  18. They aren’t going to trade Booker because they are trying to build around the young scorer and they wouldn’t have anyone If they traded DB and KD
