Should the Sacramento Kings trade their pick if they move up in the NBA Draft Lottery tonight?
off so far. Yeah. So, as we get to our dream scenarios, if the Kings manage to get the number one pick, if they manage to get anywhere between the number two and number four pick, what would you do? If the Kings get the number one pick in the draft, it really comes down to how much if if your guy is Cooper Flag, how good do you think he’s going to be versus whatever Hall you believe that they could get for him? I would say if you get Cooper Flag, I’m I’m I’m looking at packages regardless of whether it’s the number one, the number two, the number three, the number four. That’s not to say that I would take it, but I would listen. I would definitely listen because if I’m Scott Perry, and yes, he h he has been given the ability to blow it up if he wants. That’s that’s what he’s saying. But I think we could all agree and it’s been it’s been reported before. I believe it was from Mark Stein. But we don’t even need Mark Stein to report it because we live here and we know what it is. They don’t want to blow it up. That’s why they didn’t trade the year and Fox for a boatload of picks and traded it for $45 million Zack Lavine. So, we don’t need anybody to tell us that, but at least we do have confirmation. So, if I’m Scott Perry and I know that my boss doesn’t really want to blow it up, right, I’m looking at who I can get for Cooper Flag. Now, it better be a heck of a package. And I think the tough thing is when it comes to trades and money, can you get enough back with the money working to where you are not laughed at the same way the Kings have been laughed at in the past? And I don’t know, you know, based on would it be I think what happens is if you get Cooper, if you get the number one pick now, it’s you can take you can take him, but you’re going to take Zack Lavine. That’s what I think it turns into. And then we’re gonna get a treasure trove of win win win now players that we believe will help. And you know, maybe I don’t know what happens. Demar Rozan, I don’t know what happens there. I’m just saying because Zack Lavine his money can bring you the most back. Hey, you get the number one pick, but you got to take Zack Lavine and we’re looking at who’s going to help Damonte Sabonis, who’s going to help uh the the point guard situation, all of that. And it better be a hall where this is sustained success because the reality is the best way for sustained success is to draft a 20 whatever year old kid and have him be your cornerstone. Have him be your foundation. That’s the that’s the reality. But I know what my boss really wants. And my boss really wants playoff revenue this coming season. So that’s where Scott Perry has to maybe this is the first conversation and it’s a great conversation to have because that would mean that you’re in a power play and you and and you’ve got the first pick or any I would say one through four and say look man I know it’s tempting but and we can listen but unless we find a deal that is knocked your socks off right I just don’t think I just don’t think we should put ourselves into a position where we say goodbye to a young stud like Cooper Flag and just for one year. This could be another one year in the playoffs. Let’s look around. And again, we’re going to get we’re going to talk about Derek Carr retiring and as a Raider fan, how I feel about it. But let’s take a look around. The problem with Derek Carr wasn’t that he was bad. The problem is you started looking around the AFC West and you had Patrick Mahomes, you had Justin Herbert, and you’re thinking, “What are we actually doing?” when everyone thought Russell Wilson was actually going to be good. What are we doing with Derek Carr? You look around the Western Conference. You trade away Cooper Flag. Meanwhile, the Rockets are young. The Thunder are young. We is coming. The Spurs are young. And we’re going to trade away Cooper Flag or any of the top four so we can sneak into a five seed or a six seed. We have teams that are exiting the conversation. The Clippers are going to exit the conversation at some point. The Warriors might be in a couple years. How about that? Warriors could be done in two, three years. They’re done. I don’t know what happens with the Lakers to be honest. Timber, the Timberwolves, they’re not extremely young. They might lose Nas Reed. So, and and the Jazz are going to cash in at some point. So, we can’t sell this thing for two years of mediocre playoff play and have Cooper flag go wherever the hell it is. Probably to the Jazz. And after that, we’re like, “Oh, okay. Well, at least we had two.” You can’t do it. We just watched this with Luca. And Luca was different because you had more control and you didn’t you didn’t trade. You just took the wrong guy. But I just don’t think you can afford the other side of it. I do not think whatever you could get back. Now, I’ll listen, but I don’t think that anything you could get back, maybe we’re talking the third or fourth pick, maybe. But one or two, it better be something I’ve never seen before. Ever. Yeah, I think you kind of hit on it, which is if it’s three or four, you can talk yourself into that move because this is why tonight is going to matter a lot more for other teams, but I think Sacramento’s a microcosm of it is getting a winning the lottery is a path to a superstar trade, right? When Anthony Davis got traded from the Pelicans to the Lakers, people don’t remember the thing that got that over the line was the Lakers jumping from 9 to4 and getting the fourth pick in the draft that they could then package to New Orleans. What facilitated Damen Lillard leaving Portland two years ago was Portland winning the lottery and getting Scoot Henderson with the third pick to be the era parent. Right? superstar trades get facilitated by those types of moves. So, yeah, I think whoever ends up one or two is gonna sit and pick, right? It doesn’t matter if it’s Utah, Brooklyn, Toronto, San Antonio, whoever gets one or two is going to stick and pick no matter who it is, no matter your situation. But if you’re in that three or four position, there’s some room for flexibility when it comes to making a superstar level transaction.
Allen and Kyle discuss how moving up in tonight’s NBA Draft Lottery would potentially affect the direction of the Sacramento Kings.

If the kings get 1 they need to be smart take Flagg blow this thing up and tank
If the Kings get the #1 pick, then take Flagg and runaway happy.
Trading the pick TOTALLY depends on what the return is. For example, if it is for a Giannis package, then I am all in.
We have a first round pick? We have to land a top four pick to keep our pick. This conversation is super duper wishful.
If the NBA some how allows them to get the #1 they keep it for Flagg.
😂 top 4 Sac? Cmon now
I bet the Farm Dallas Mavericks a Top 4 draft pick this year
NBA is not gifting anymore picks to the Kings they already tried dropping Luka on their lap to make up for rigging the 02 playoffs and Vlade passed, the expert on european basketball passed after scouting Luka in person and took Bagley lol
