🚨 BREAKING🚨 Shams Charania says Giannis is exploring LEAVING THE BUCKS 👀 | Get Up

And Shams has jumped in with breaking news just in the last 15 minutes about Giannis Ana Kmpo and quite candidly it could reshape the entire NBA as we know it. Sham’s huge audience joining us here at the top of the hour. What is the news this morning? Giannis Intakmpo, the two-time NBA MVP, he has not made any firm decisions about his future. But sources tell me for the first time in his 12-year NBA career, he is open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere and exploring what those options outside of Milwaukee look like. Is it sensible for him to potentially leave? And I’m here in Chicago. This is the summit of Giannis Atutakmpo. All 30 decision makers are descending upon this city now. agents all in town. There’s going to be plenty of natural substantive conversations that are going to be taking place here. And we’ve known over the last several years, Giannis Koopo has been very open-minded about at least expressing that he is going to explore options because his goal is to win a championship. He said it over the years that my goal I only want to win and compete for rings. He said it on his brother Tanasa’s podcast last month that if I don’t retire uh if I retire without winning a second championship, he’s not going to be able to essentially sleep at night. And so that’s his goal. What is that best long-term fit? And for the Bucks part, of course, they want to continue to build around Janso, but they’re going into an offseason where they have one first round pick that they can trade six years from now. They don’t necessarily have cap space. They have topheavy salaries. And again, that $54 million contract on their books for next season with the Damen Lillard whose season is in jeopardy next year with that Achilles tear. So Giannis for the first time as a Milwaukee Buck is open to exploring what it looks like potentially outside of Milwaukee. Johns, considering Giannis won a world championship in Milwaukee. Obviously, this is about getting assets in return for Milwaukee and the Bucks, but how much of a say will Alex Ratz his agent and Giannis actually have and where he goes? Jay, Bucks, Bucks ownership, John Horse, their general manager, they’ve built a lot of equity. That’s been a long-standing relationship not only with Giannis Idmpo, but his representatives, including Alex Seratus. Uh, and I think those conversations have always been going on. I do expect both sides to meet at some point here in the offseason for a larger, broader discussion, but between now and June’s NBA draft, there’s going to be plenty of conversations that’s going to go on. Teams are going to be reaching out to the Bucks. There’s going to be a lot of due diligence that’s going to happen. Most of it’s going to happen this week in Chicago at the combine ahead of this lottery and throughout this week. But uh there’s going to be a lot of back and forth communication of course between the Bucks and Giannis’s side. Let me bring Wendy into the conversation here. Sham, stay with me as we’ll continue wi with this windman. For the the audience just joining us here at the top of the hour, run us through what you think are the most important points here, particularly as it relates to tonight’s draft lottery and how all that shapes out. It’s a very monumental day in the NBA because we have the Cooper flag lottery tonight. There’s a team that’s going to win the draft lottery tonight that’s going to draft Cooper Flag. And even even if one of these teams that we think is going to get Giannis are interested in trading for Giannis, if they win the draft lottery, I don’t think anybody could be talked into trading that pick. But we’d see about that. And now the second thing about tonight will be the Giannis position of it. Not because a team like Charlotte or Washington potentially could get the second or third pick, but because there’s some teams that are real contenders for Giannis who are in this lottery. I’m going to give you three. one San Antonio. They have a great group of young players with with the last two rookies of the year in Victor Winyama and Stefan Castle. They traded for De’arren Fox. They have a bunch of draft assets and they’ve got two picks in the lottery tonight. One of them is this Hawks pick that’s not on the screen right now, but you put this stuff together, they could offer potentially two lottery picks in this draft if they wanted to put an offer together for Giannis in addition to players on their roster. The other team I’m going to point out, we have the Suns here, but really that’s the Rockets pick. The number nine pick for the Suns is the Rockets. They have a 4% chance of winning it, a 17% chance of getting to the top 10. This is a team that has a bunch of draft assets that are not theirs that they could offer in a deal for any star player, but specifically a player like Giannis who was 30 years old would match more to their core. San Antonio and Houston, very interesting the way they come out tonight. And then the third team I’m going to mention is Brooklyn. big market has been hunting and preparing to try to make an offer for Giannis for a while. If they get a pick that jumps up into that top four tonight, it strengthens their hand in potentially making an offer for Jans Tennako. Okay. I I I feel an obligation to ask the question Wendy, I’ll start with you or Shams like reading Twitter and obviously as I mentioned the other day that very few Mensah meetings are held there, but if you just sort of look at all the stuff that gets thrown out there, the whole world wants to know well can he wind up with the Lakers? Can he wind up with the Knicks? Can he wind up with one of the big glamour franchises? How does What does the reality of all that look like? Win man. So, he’s got two years on his contract. That means he doesn’t have to work with the Bucks. A team that traded for him would know they would have him for two years, but it would be better for all parties if the Bucks worked with Giannis and then there would be a contract extension put in place when he was traded. If a team that was trading for him knew they were going to have him basically for the rest of his prime, their offer would increase. And what I will tell you about Milwaukee is this. Milwaukee does not control their draft for the next 5 years. That means if you’re going to the trade machine and you’re putting together a package of draft picks where the Milwaukee is going to stink the next three years, that’s not attractive to them. They need they they don’t control their draft picks. They need players back. They would also like draft picks for Giannis. And by the way, if you’re going to offer a draft pick for Giannis and you’re you’re getting him and creating a super team, the Bucks aren’t going to be excited about getting your draft picks for the next few years. So ideally, the Bucks want players and they’re going to want other teams picks. There are several teams who have this exact package, including San Antonio, Houston, and Brooklyn. That’s one of the reasons why you say that. Now, because a lot of people are going to wonder about the Lakers, could the Lakers make an offer? Yes. Could Giannis come in and say, “I am going nowhere but the Lakers.” Yes. And if that happens, that would increase it. But I don’t think the Lakers or the Knicks could make an offer that’s in the top five or six. But because Giannis potentially has agency in this, then you would say that his words would matter a lot. We’ve got obviously Giannis would one of the glamour stars in the sport. He has done unbelievable things in Milwaukee. He brought that city a championship on all that. And clearly just from the outside looking in, it looks like it has run his course. That team has done everything it can to put a title contender around him and it just didn’t work out. Didn’t work out with Dame and whatever else the case may be. So as you hear these possibilities, San Antonio, Houston, Brooklyn, people are going to talk about the Knicks because they’re the Knicks. People are going to talk about the Lakers because they’re the Lakers. What are you thinking about Giannis? Uh to me, he’s made it very clear and we just heard from Sha Shams. He wants to win again, right? So, of the three teams that Wendy just gave us, I think the Rockets are probably the closest. Now, there’s some questions about San Antonio. You might say they could be as close if Wimby is healthy and this uh blood clot situation is not something that’s going to linger, but literally right now based on what we just saw, the Rockets issue was being able to score, not defense. That to me fits what Giannis wants. Can I give you one? And their name was not mentioned, but just think about what this pairing would be ought to be in the Western Conference. Do not discount the Golden State Warriors. Do not discount Mike Dunley having Jimmy Butler there as an asset, having Pods, having picks that they can utilize in the future. Just think about Giannis and Steph Curry playing together on the same team at this stage of their career. No, I mean it’s a delightful thought to have, but I mean it’s a real thought. They have to be able to make a trade that the Bucks are reasonably interested in, and we need to know what it is that Giannis wants. Shams, help us out here because now we’re in this area, this dangerous area where I’m just throwing names out and we’re just fantasizing about these possibilities. What? help us with put some reality into the conversation. No one exactly knows yet. That’s what this week is going to be about. Like I’ve been saying, this is going to be the summit of Giannis and Dutmpo here in Chicago. And he’s going to eventually have to make a decision. Everyone here has their eyes on him. He’s one of the best players in the NBA, arguably if not the best player in the NBA. 30 years old in the prime of his career. He has the ability to change an entire franchise anywhere in the league. And so everyone’s eyes, everyone’s attention, they’re waking up thinking about Giannis at TKMPO. Of course, Cooper flagged the draft lottery as well, but Giannis is on the minds of everyone. And eventually, he’s going to have to make that decision. The next year or two in Milwaukee likely looks more of a retooling period for them. Can they really, you know, because of his greatness, you’re competing for play in playoff births, no doubt. But are you competing for that elusive second championship that Giannis Ando has made clear that he really desperately wants and that is what he’s going to have to deal with over the next few weeks. And if it’s not Milwaukee, where could it be? Let me put some full screens up here for you to give you some perspective. Let’s do them both. Let’s start with X20, Cindy. So, if you’re wondering, Giannis’s contract, you heard it referenced, he has two seasons left. The these actually are his numbers over the last two seasons. These are his I’ll leave it up. I Okay, well, switch it over. He actually has three years left. That includes a player option. The remaining value of the contract is $175 million. So, the the active number here really is that he has two years left. The player option is what it is. He doesn’t have full control of this. Usually in the NBA, when we think about superstars forcing deals, they walk in there and they say, “Look, I’m going to leave for nothing at the end of this year if you don’t move me.” He’s not in that situation. Here are the numbers of the last two seasons by Giannis. 30 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and 60% field goal shooting. Uh that’s two seasons both by Giannis in the history of the sport. So, he has been, for those of you wondering, well, is he still doing Yes, he’s still doing all the things he’s ever done. The team just hasn’t been as good, and so it hasn’t been as noticeable. Windman, jump back in. Yeah, I think the the the big thing here is he has been the greatest player the Bucks have had since Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He has delivered everything he could there. Um it is might even be responsible for the Bucks to trade him no matter what because of what the situation that they’re looking at. It may be the best team for the franchise. So, it just makes the most sense that the two sides would work together, both as the best thing for the Bucks going forward and because they have such a strong relationship with the player. You do not want this to be adversarial. Because of that, that will really make what Giannis’s preferences so important. I will tell you this as well, Giannis is extremely savvy when it comes to financial matters. He’s very, very smart at what is the best way to do his contract. He’s very, very smart at taxes. I promise you, he knows the tax rates in all the states. And I again come back to Houston and San Antonio. No state income tax. Watch what happens tonight in this lottery with Houston and San Antonio. I also say he has a great relationship with Hakee Elijah. I mean, he’s done a lot of training with Hakee and Houston. So, they have a very interesting relationship. All right. Again, Shams with the breaking news. For the first time in his NBA career, Giannis appears open to the possibility of moving on from Milwaukee, where he has been for 12 seasons. Whereas Wendy says he is inarguably the best franchise, best player that franchise has had since they drafted then Lu Synindor, now known as of course to the world as Kareem Abdul Jabar.

  1. Jay WIlliams "thinking aboout" the Golden State Warriors having Giannis…… but not thinking about why the Bucks would do that stupid trade?

Jesus these ESPN guys are something else

  2. Espn is hot garbage giannis has said he's open to any team every time he's ever been asked lol. This is such a joke. Pathetic reporters

  3. Anyone saying the bucks should trade giannis is insane. The value of that organization would go down by like a billion if not more lol it's not even a debate lol

  4. As he should, dame isn’t playing next season and having Kyle Kuzma on your team isn’t going to make anyone stay. Plus Lopez is likely to leave and not much firepower on the bench.

  5. Giannis deserves out. This team has been a complete disappointment since their championship back in 2021. Trading away Jrue Holiday killed that franchise and I will stand by it.

  6. They did everything to ruin a contender. They traded their second best player for an aging small guard that cannot play defense, the traded Jrue and he signed with Boston, won a second one, all because they felt he could not score…

  7. They should have mentioned OKC. They have over 30 first and second round picks in upcoming drafts. Giannis in OKC would be dangerous!

  8. Darius Garland and Dean Wade plus 2 firsts and a second for Giannis.

Mitchell, Strus, Giannis, Mobely and Allen is a nasty 5

  9. Brian windhorst just swear Cooper Flagg is gone b the next lebron james or sumn
He been a lil too high on Cooper Flagg lately
