THE HERD | Colin Cowherd SHOCKS, Golden State Warriors Are UNWATCHABLE Without Steph Curry | NBA
eight years, Boston’s a much better franchise. But when Jason Tatum plays poorly or doesn’t play, the net rating often goes up. You watch the Warriors without Steph, it’s hard. They’re unwatchable. You see, Jokic is now gassed. Denver can’t score. Okay, it’s a bummer because he didn’t really talk about the Warriors. That’s the only line. And you know, um I was kind of really trying to hold out and wait for like an actual Warrior segment, but it’s not there. So, I got to do the best that I can here. Um, you know, he’s saying that the Warriors are unwatchable without Steph Curry. Um, listen, are the Warriors a significantly better team with Steph Curry? Yes, I know that must be breaking news and shocking to to everyone out there. Um, but I think the Warriors played awesome against uh the Minnesota Timberwolves. Considering that the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Lakers in five with LeBron James and Luca, you know, the the the team that everyone had set up to just go, you know, win the next seven uh titles in a row here. The Warriors had that game. The Warriors were 100% in the position to win that game. No doubt about it. I mean, I’m watching that game and I was like, they’re they can pull this off as long as they don’t go cold down the stretch and the Timber Robs don’t get hot down the stretch. And of course, that’s exactly what happened, right? Jimmy Butler didn’t have a I think he didn’t have like a bucket in like the last like eight minutes of the game or something, you know? I forget exactly what it was. Um, and you know, Aunt got hot, Nas got hot, like it just, you know, it just it just switched in the final. And that that is the problem that the Warriors have without Steph that they don’t have that closer. They don’t have that other weapon. You know, in order to to really come away with that win in the final three, four minutes, you do need Buddy Hill to be knocking down some threes. You do need Kaminga to step up big. You do need especially Jimmy Butler. And they didn’t have that. But throughout that game, that that was a tight game that the Warriors were in control of. The Warriors were in control of that game probably majority of that game which is remarkable because we’re talking about a playoff game without Steph Curry and really realistically speaking here it’s Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green and it was against the team that you know for many moments in the series against the Lakers humiliated LeBron and Luca. That’s just a fact. It’s not that’s not an opinion here. That’s just that’s just the reality of how that series went. So, no. As me, someone who’s a basketball junkie, I’m wildly impressed. Is it unwatchable with the Warriors because it’s so much more exciting when you see Steph and obviously, you know, watching him play is just he’s one of the most exciting player. Yeah. So, it’s less exciting, of course, because Steph, his style of basketball is just some of the most exciting quality of games that you could ever watch. But look at, you know, look at with with Jokic on the floor, you know, with Westbrook and, you know, Jamal Murray, they they get they they’re getting rocked in in certain games. I mean, we we saw all these games with Giannis, with Luca, LeBron, uh you know, I’m trying to think of some of the other bigger names that played so far in the playoffs. uh Mitchell, you know, that that’s with those guys on the floor. And there’s been games where you’re just like, they don’t they don’t have a chance. There’s like legitimately not a chance for this team to win the game. Uh even against the Knicks. So, can we please put that in perspective here? Like how pretty remarkable it was that the Warriors were in that game. And that’s what makes it kind of devastating because they had that win. They had that win. They had that win and then the then it would be different right now. That would and I that’s what would make the you know game four that is now it’s like all in. The biggest bummer is is that not only did Steph get hurt but Jimmy Butler too. Jimmy Butler and I’ve said this now in every video because it has to just be repeated. He clearly is just gutting it out. I mean you can just see it. He went down a couple times in that game where you see when he fall when he went to the ground, you could see like he needs a second to get up. You see it like it it cuz he’s landing like on his tailbone, his thigh, like you can see it and he like he needs a second like he it is it is it is there like it is a thing that he is managing throughout this thing. So like he he he is doing everything he can and that’s a bummer because if he was actually healthy. I mean I I they would be up two games right now even without Steph. And like that’s that’s that’s the bummer. That’s the bummer more than anything because then I think we would get more of a vintage playoff Jimmy. They could maybe even be up three games to one, two games to one, two and two at least, you know, getting it until Steph can come back and then, dare I say, maybe even potentially winning this here. I mean, if this was like true vintage Jimmy Butler. I mean, do you see that move that he had on Ant? Oh my gosh. Like at the baseline and that’s him hanging on by a thread against 23-year-old Ant who’s just like ready to explode. So, it’s a bummer. This This was clearly going to be the best series. All these other series have been so lopsided. Like, each game has been so kind of bizarre. The the Pacers um Cavaliers game have been kind of exciting. Um but I feel like kind of for different reasons and not so convinced the the Cleveland Cavaliers really have a chance to win the title. I do believe the Minnesota Timberwolves can win a title and I do believe the Warriors can win a title. So when you see two game two teams going head-to-head with especially with some big names big matchups and Steph Draymond Jimmy Butler you know like it’s just it just hits different you know Gobear um you even Julius Randall I just yeah it just it would have felt like the team that wins this like really has an awesome chance to to win it all and it’s just it’s a bummer because we’re we’re kind of getting robbed which is like listen I I don’t try to root for anything. I really really don’t. Um but like from just a basketball fan perspective, I know Minnesota Timberwolves don’t want this and Warriors definitely do. It’s like you want to be able to see this series try to get close like you know what would be pretty cool actually they it it Steph Curry doesn’t play for the until game seven or something right? It gets to game seven, it’s three and three, it all comes down to one game and then it’s the return of Steph Curry. Like that would be exciting. But, you know, I just I’m I’m I’m here for the drama. I’m here for the entertainment. Um I’m I’m here for the noise. But, uh yeah, it’s just I I I I really kind of criticize I didn’t criticize Colin, but I criticized the take of like, you know, having the first round be best of three or something or at least best of five. And I was like, “No, the NBA playoffs are so exciting. So exciting. You can’t do that. You know, we live for this. The the the regular season is such a grind. The playoffs are everything.” And now that you see all these players tired and banged up or at the very least just give them extra rest. As much as I I don’t like it when they have like extra days rest because I’m like, “Come on, let’s play.” And actually years ago when they first added some extra rest, Steve Kerb was like, “I don’t like this, but I just want to play.” I’m just totally like, “Give these players extra rest. I want to see the best versions of themselves in the playoffs. I rather them shorten the regular season, which unfortunately they’ll never do, and still give us best to seven series every round. But if not, they totally can give extra rest. They absolutely can. Um, and that way we can actually just get higher quality ball. Um, because we have to watch the whole regular season of them not caring. And now we see them play where they care more than anything, but they’re all run down, tired, and all on the brink of potentially getting banged up. It’s okay to make changes, and I hope the NBA does, honestly, because I live for the basketball playoffs, man. I live for the basketball playoffs. And you know what? They should make the best I forget how long the basketball, you know, NBA playoffs end up being, like around two months or so. There’s no problem extending it and making it just like the bulk of why everyone watches the NBA, right? Like there’s nothing wrong with it making it like, you know, a three-month time where it’s just like, yep, you know, April, May, and June is just nothing but NBA playoffs and it’s box office. You can build it up. You can make it larger than life, larger than it already is. Heck, push it back a week after the season. Let everyone rest up for a week. work with the NFL so you don’t have the NFL draft overlap because whether you love it or hate it, the NFL draft is massive now. Gets more ratings than basketball playoffs. Don’t try to compete with them. Work with them. Push it back and, you know, there you go. Like I I I don’t know. Do something different. But this year we have so many people bagged up and it’s and everyone’s tired and it’s just like, you know, but put some respect on the Warriors name, man. They’re playing better against the Timberwolves, you know, without Steph than um than, you know, the the Nuggets are playing with Luca, the Cavs playing with Mitchell. Um, you know, uh, the Celtics with everyone. That means something. That means something. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. Love your videos your channel will continue to grow keep them coming.
Jimmy and kuming were awesome but draymond decided not to be his usual self, i think he might have been distracted
Whats with the schedule for this series as well as Rockets series they haven't gotten a single extra day of rest its 1 day off thats it. Celtics are getting 2 days in their series and they just have to go from Boston to New York it doesn't make sense to me, give a 3 day i thought it used to be any time you have to travel they would give 2 days so after game 2 and 4 would make sense to me.
Jayson Tatu is an overrated, showboating, prancing media fabrication.
Well they lost their defensive identity when Draymond Green fouled out with little over 4 minutes left in the game they fell apart on defense
We lost by 5! One 3 from Podz (who was exceptionally terrible) and a few TTs in we would have won. Not "unwatchable". JK and Jimmy were great.
I HOPE JONATHAN GETS 30 TONIGHT AND JIMMY GETS 25 AND BUDDY GETS 20 DRAYMOND 10 POINTS 10 REBOUNDS
Why are you making everybody but Jonathan kuminga he didn't play he didn't score 30 points was I looking at my imagination what are you talking about
Don't forget Draymond fouled out, which created space for Edwards and Randle to heat up in the fourth. The Warriors don't need Steph to come back and win this series; they just need better execution.
We have to win it's not just enough just playing awesome 😢
This is why Jimmy was passing so much to the role players in the regular season. To build their confidence. Unfortunately it hasn't translated to the playoffs with the exception of Buddy for a couple of games
Finally. I think the wolves has been unimpressive. Yes they've been winning bt the warriors have been pretty experimental that last two games. I think they still take this series without Steph. I think Kerr now understands he can get 25+ from both JK and Jimmy, 15 from buddy, so it's gonna be easier for role players to step up now. Also KD always does a good Job on Ant. I wanna see more of that.
He's right there warriors are unwatchable without Steph. But i still watch it because there's a hope that Jimmy can get it done
Game 4 is everything. Warriors need to treat it like it's a game 7. Hopefully Podz has a bounce-back shooting game.
As much as I cant stand Colin he’s rite the warriors are garbage without curry
You are trippin.. SMH
Love your content man. I am surprised you don't have more subs.
I agree tho I can’t even say their enjoyable to watch without Steph
All the other series have been way more exciting lol. Did you not watch first two knicks games, pacers first to games, and thunder nuggets game? All ive seen from gsw is inability to score. They are very consistent with no shows from their roleplayers
What kind of people want to watch one on one basketball. Unwatchable is selfish plays not passing and refs calling fouls for touching.
Yes, that Jimmy Butler move on Ant was AMAZING.
You are so right..
Look at the box score for game 3. Warriors should have won this game even without Steph. Warriors out rebounded, they basically had the same shots made %, and Warriors had 4 more turnovers.
Thanks to Scott Foster and his ticky tac fouls on Green (4, 5, and 6th)..
The 4th foul was not a foul even after Kerr challenged the call the Refs still wouldn't reverse. The 5th foul I mean come on Scott you give Green a foul when u r looking at another play. Then u kick out Green on the 6th foul when u rarely see a player kicked out of a game, especially in the playoffs unless it's an obvious blatant foul! Warriors got robbed while outplayed Minnesota on D.
Refs got pay back to Green for his comments the day before.
