The Charlotte Hornets Remain Unlucky
What is going on everyone? Long time no talk. Trust the buzz here. If you new to the channel, I make sure all the hornets content. So, if that interests you, make sure you go ahead and hit that subscribe button down below. And if you cannot tell by the thumbnail title of this video, you could tell that we unfortunately ended up with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. It’s it’s frustrating because we keep tanking and this is kind of what we get for it. we don’t really get to where you know the overall prize the number one pick there there are some definite players I still would take it for I’m obviously open to trades whether up or down it actually doesn’t matter to me so it’s not endall all be all at four I think the good thing about it is there there at four there should be a group of players that it really doesn’t matter where you have them on your big board I think everybody would agree that they’re in the same tier so I don’t feel feel as though you will be missing out. You might be missing out on a specific skill set you may want that you feel as though will better the team, but I don’t think you’ll be missing out in terms of overall hype and talent there. I mean, I got to go back and look at some notable fourth overall picks, but we know that it’s not always the number one pick that that takes off or the number two pick even. Sometimes it is the fourth pick. Sometimes it is the fifth pick. with the Hornets record in drafting. I know that we look at other teams and be like, “Well, their fourth pick was this.” But I with the history of our franchise to get if we get a fourth pick and they’re decent. I mean, they’re good. Like, they may make an allstar or two, that would be leaps and bounds better than what what we normally have happen with the franchise. Now, I’m not sitting here trying to settle down into it or talk myself into the fourth round pick. I mean, the fourth overall pick. The fourth pick sucks, especially when you have intentions of getting one or two. I was very cool with one or two. I mean, obviously there’s a difference between one and two, but I was very cool with either or. The fall down to four, I think, is where it gets shaky, but once again, you fall into that tier of players where they all kind of have the same ceiling to me. Um, I I don’t know what to do going forward as far as the team. I don’t know what idea they may have. There are options here at four with like VJ VJ Edgecom who I feel as though could like help rise the floor of the team. So keep the team exactly as is. And then VJ Edgecom I think help rises help risees that floor and allows the team to kind of get on break and and make plays uh you know in the in the fashion they like to. They like to get in transition. That’s how they like to play. We just obviously with guys like Damen Ball we weren’t able to do that. Um, so that sucks. But I think that having I think having these list of players, these group of players, I think it can help. But then you could also maybe try to go, you know, try to hit a home run with Trey Johnson where he may not have all the tools right now as far, well, I wouldn’t say the tools because he had like a 611 almost 611 wingspan today at the um draft combine. He he may not show all the signs of he’s going to be this well-rounded player, but one thing you know that you know will translate to the next level is his ability to score. So, you just got to see like what else will go with that. So, it just depends on what you want. Do you want the guy with the high upside where his scoring ability is already fantastic? If he can get his defense up, he’s going to be a real problem. Or you get the guy like VJ Edgecom and there’s other names. Kona Nipple, uh Malawatch if you’re really looking for a center queen. Like these are other guys that kind of fall in this range. But you get VJ Edgeham who I think right now has a really good floor and fits very well with the team. It’s just that you may consider you may wonder what his ceiling exactly looks like as opposed to Trey Johnson. I there’s almost allstar potential there if you if he really you know gets down to defense and everyone at Texas has talked about how much of a hard worker he is. So maybe that can that’s something he will work on at the next level and then go from there. Um, and VK Edgum has a lot of the same things said about him that he’s a hard worker, that he plays hard, so maybe he can, you know, be the next level. But I think you just see it more with Trey Johnson because that offensive firepower is ridiculous. He’s in every definition of the word of a flamethrower. That’s what Trey Johnson is. As opposed to VJ Edge, I think it’s more of a well-rounded game. Um, not complete by any means. He definitely has some things that he needs to work on. Um, three-point shooting would be one. um his his ability to score in half court, like things like that. But overall, you can see what kind of player you can be. Just it’s just a matter of what you want. Uh I think this does open up the door for LaMelo conversations because it felt as though the whole plan was surrounded around this draft and getting Cooper flag and that did not happen. Now, of course, if our front office is smart, which they’ve shown that they are, so until they prove otherwise, I have to roll with them. They have to have a backup plan. What that backup plan is, I don’t know. But I think that you have to consider trading LaMelo, which we’ll talk about that at another point in time. It has nothing to do with For me, it has nothing to do with LaMelo. It’s everything to do with I do not like sitting here and waiting and being like, “Oh, we’ll eventually get the piece to to really get this thing going and we’re going to be dangerous and but I’m also of the mind where you are already paying him. Why not keep him and then try to build that team around him?” But as a team that is obviously trying to build through the draft, I just don’t know how much time you have to wait. So, I would definitely like to hear your thoughts on that. But that I’m not sold on Trey Johnson or VJ Edcom or Kanipple or Derek Queen or Jeremiah Fear. Like I’m not sold on any of those guys right now. This is just like a first reaction and to be honest it sucks. It feels like it’s rigged. You hate to see a team that obviously needs the help and we can’t get it. We have to help ourselves. I mean that’s ultimately what it comes down to and that’s that’s a lot harder uh because you have to rely on the organization making the right decisions. They have not done so in the past. I think that this front office is in taking the right step. But it’s one of those things where you’re you’re you’re inheriting what the other the other uh front office did. And I think they were very adamant about that when they first came in was we know the history of the Hornets and we think there’s something here. So you you are bringing on that burden that the other front office left. So it does feel like you need to hurry up and get good. But I think you I don’t think they necessarily need to hurry up and become a good team. That that’s just me. Um but I think they do need to hurry up and start building in the right direction. And right now it feels a little stagnant. Uh their first draft they get TJ Salon who’s not ready. Um you have LaMelo, you have Brandon, you have we don’t know what’s going on with Mark. So there’s only two players that you kind of really know what you have to an extent. Everybody else is just kind of out there and you’re just hoping for the best. They’ve shown signs. I like Trey Man. Hope he’s back. It seems like he’ll be back. I like Nick Smith Jr. He’s had he’s shown signs. Um hope hope that he can continue to grow and develop. Uh same and well I really can’t say same with Miles Bridges, but Miles Bridges has been iffy with me. I just don’t know. He he he would work if this team was good. Like he would I would have no problem with him, but considering we’re so far behind, it feels as though we need a different type of good player. And I feel as though it’s a little redundant with LaMelo, Brandon Miles, and that’s how I almost that’s how I almost feel with Ace Bailey who could fall to four. But I think having LaMelo, Brandon Miles, and Ace, I think that would just muddy up things. So my whole point is I think that this front office needs to start looking to build. Like right now we’re just gather gathering players and I don’t know where that exactly is going to get you. Like it it works sometimes where you have a myriad of players and then they eventually develop and then boom. But I think that what usually happens in that situation is that the play the the players you are paying for salary cap purposes are players who are just adding, you know, just just here to fill in gaps, here to be veterans, you know, on court playing veterans, but veterans nonetheless. And they’re not really someone you’re looking to develop. You’re just looking for them to kind of be like a role model and just help set your team up for success in the future. Right now, the players we’re playing are our players, if that makes any sense. We’re paying LaMelo. He’s being paid right now good money. And we’re nowhere near being good. Miles Bridges getting paid good money. We’re nowhere near being good. Grant Grant Williams is getting paid. Uh it’s soon going to be time for Mark Williams to get paid, which he I mean, as right now, he’s still on the team. Uh Josh Green is getting paid. So, like we’re paying Oki’s getting paid a little bit. Um, we’re just in the middle of paying all these guys and really don’t have a path or anything to show for it. East is weak. That always, always, always will keep the door open in my opinion until proven otherwise. As long as the East is weak, we have a chance, but I just don’t I just don’t see it. I would love to hear your thoughts down in the comment section below. I don’t even know how much I even have left to give with this team. like I my interests are just going to other places right now and that’s why I haven’t been uploading. But I don’t know. We’ll see. I just felt like this was very important to talk about. I don’t want to speak too definitive right now even though I have some definitive thoughts in my head. But once again, let me know what you think down in the comment section below and I’ll talk to you guys next time. Peace.
The Charlotte Hornets land the 4th overall pick after being tied for the highest odds for the 1st pick. Falling behind the Mavericks, Spurs, and 76ers. This team feels cursed. What’s next for LaMelo Ball? What’s next for the Hornets? How do the Charlotte Hornets find the silver lining in this?

I'm not mad at #4; I like Ace Bailey, VJ Edgecomb & Kon Knueppel. Any of those guys are fine with me…🤷🏾♂️
Im not upset with us at 4.
Im more upset with the teams that ended up ahead of us. But, what can you do?
Tre Johnson and VJ are both prospects that are exciting to me.
I give up, ive been watching the hornets for 15 years since i was 5 years old, been to dozens of games and never even seen them win a playoff series. Why does it seem that every other small market gets blessed at some point but were doomed to purgatory? At least canes are competitive.
I would have been OK even with Washington or Utah getting Flagg, but Dallas? That's what I'm most mad about. I don't think the sky is falling, though. Could be in the Kings' situation.
Lottery for a reason.
Trade pick to Memphis for ja Morant if all else fails
I'd trade melo to the spurs for da 2nd puck
I'm ready to see Melo move on if they won't put a solid team around him. Relying on the draft depends on luck. Luck isn't really a Hornets thing.
VJ edgecombe is a must for us IMO. elite athlete, great defender, improved shooting, handling, and shot creation allows him to fit flawlessly with melo and BMill. Trade away Mark or Miles to see if you can snag malauch and I like the new direction we'd be heading towards
Clearly the NBA DRAFT Lottery has to go, it's to easy for Adam Silver to Manipulate that system. But I think Tre Johnson or Maxime Raynaud, 7'0, 37% 3pt, good defender/rebounder. Double double machine at Stanford 🤩👌🏾
Could of been worse at least we are not Utah or the Wizards
It’s not luck, it’s fucking rigged! We should all be enraged. What the hell is the point of being a fan of any team outside of 4-5 large markets that th nba protects! What a damn joke.
I think it’s interesting how low the Fanbase is on Melo & Miller…there is a real scenario that both of them are healthy and at least one is all star starter & the other is a reserve. I don’t care what nobody says those 2 are as good as most 1st picks and can carry this team at minimum to a 8 seed.
The hornets should draft Maluach and trade Williams.
