Cleveland Cavaliers get EMBARRASSED by Pacers in Game 4; face ELIMINATION Tuesday night in G5

The Indiana Pacers spent two days looking for solutions against top-seeded Cleveland.

On Sunday, they delivered an emphatic answer.

Pascal Siakam scored 21 points, Myles Turner and Obi Toppin each scored 20 and the Pacers tied an NBA playoff record with a 41-point halftime lead before blowing out the Cavs 129-109 to take a 3-1 series lead.

The No. 4-seeded Pacers can close it out Tuesday in Cleveland, where they’ve already won twice.

“We haven’t done anything yet,” coach Rick Carlisle said after earning his 33rd playoff win with Indiana, passing Larry Bird for the most in the franchise’s NBA history. “We’re going to keep approaching this like we have everything to prove. We know people don’t believe in us, so we’re just going to stay in the fight and keep fighting.”

The Pacers certainly showed some resolve two days after an embarrassing 22-point loss on their home court, a game in which Cleveland dominated the glass and held two-time All-Star Tyrese Haliburton to four points and five assists.

This time, the towel-waving home crowd helped spur Indiana, right from the start of a physical, sometimes chippy game.

The Pacers built a 44-point lead before settling for an 80-39 halftime margin that matched the league’s previous best since detailed play-by-play was kept, set by the Cavs in Game 2 of the 2017 Eastern Conference finals against Boston. | https://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/gameId/401769742

  1. The dilemma teams have when playing Indiana is who do you pit your best defender on? Because anyone you defend they have 8-9 players in that roster that can shoot from anywhere anytime of the game. It’s impossible to double team any player. One on one the Pacers run right past you.

  2. So let me get this STRAIGHT Donovan Mitchell is a Superstar but Tyrese Haliburton isn't? That's PATHETIC that all of you think that!

  3. Game 3 wasn’t a blow out. It was even after the 1st, they played even quarters 3 & 4. It was a bad 2nd quarter for the Pacers. The Cavs won 12 minutes & that was it. Pacers have been the better team all series long. This one is over.

  4. All you career comment coaches, this team is still young. Buncha 23 yr olds. They are absolutely gettin rocked currently but this team future is ahead of em. If you thought they were a title contender this yr you may still not be wrong but you also bought into the hype. This is a young ass team. And they gon be together for years. So just calm ya stupid ass down

  5. I didn't watch one minute of Cavs basketball this season – I followed them through stats/highlights etc. I KNEW THIS WAS COMING. I have been ranting for 2 years that they have NO TOUGHNESS. They are simply TOO SOFT for playoff basketball. They have a culture that encourages being a pussy. When Jay Crawford made his commentary about the the Cavs being 'such nice guys' – I WAS SAYING THE SAME THING OVER 2 YEARS AGO LOL. This team is loaded with a bunch of really talented pussies 😂

  6. As an Indianapolis native & Pacer fan I hate that it's the Pacers vs Cavs & Boston vs New York. I'd much rather both Indy & Cleveland have a chance to whip up on east coast teams before meeting in the finals. I'm a long time Indy sports fan. And back in the Hoosier Dome days when the Colts really sucked, and the Browns fans traveled, I used to love buying a ticket in the middle of the road team Dawg Pound. Just to hang out with & talk shit with Cleveland fans. I want the Pacers to win. But I hate that it might come at Clevelands expense.

  7. It's Culture from top down, Koby has done some great things but has never established traits of Toughness, it's all about hyping these guys up. Better then they actually are.

  8. It’s over… they’ll probably win tomorrow but I won’t be watching the game to see it. I’m over the emotional roller coaster. If they make it to the next round I’ll tune in at that point.

  9. Never thought I would say this (lol) but Bull was 1000% correct. The regular season meant absolutely nothing. Kudos to him for stating it before everyone else

  10. Jarrett Allen needs to GO AND SO DOES GARLAND IM a real fan and I know what I’m talking about idc what awards they win I. The regular season they play like it’s the regular season in the playoffs and that’s a huge problem

  11. They're injured. Three All-stars are injured. Can't win in the playoffs with that kind of injury report. We wouldn't expect OKC or NY (and definitely not the Pacers) to win without their three best players being healthy. This is not an excuse. It's simply acknowledging reality.

  12. Dunno if the Pacers will ever be fully successful (win championship)with their current player format, but they are the most fun/exciting/pleasant/etc. To watch BECAUSE they dont have a "superstar" scori g 50 pts each night. It truly is impressive how they take teams apart by simply playing OLD SCHOOL TEAM BASKETBALL.

Shut ANY of them down, and they'll still find a way to win.

    Pacers for the win!!!!

  13. The Pacers are a freight train. Get ready for a second round exit on tuesday. I'm hoping for a 60 point beat down.

  14. Dan/koby have assembled a team full of manchildren. Worst front-office in the league, this team and organization is hopeless. Hopeless.

Again, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

  15. although, this is nothing new. Remember the Price/Daugherty/Nance Cavs team against Boston in the playoffs… One game, blow them out in Cleveland… next get get blown out in Boston. Don't know what it is. Do players just take it games off?

  16. The Cavs, the Celtics, and OKC dug themselves in a hole… OKC has already started getting out of the hole they created for themselves.. Let's see what Boston does tonight. Should be interesting to see the differences on how these teams handle being in a hole of their own making.

  17. You guys live off superstar type basketball and wonder why players gets hurt or gassed during playoffs because they had to curry a team. I’ll take 7 players with double digit points then 1 or 2 guys with 30 or 40 point games. The Pacers plays team ball 3 pass minimum.

  18. Next Cavs game I watch will be game 1 in the ECF.. whenever that may be (definitely not this year.. this team is too soft.) Im not watching or going to any regular season games next year. This team lost my support with their cowardice spirit.

  19. I’ve have said this for 4 years now, the Cavs are heartless losers, I’ve been watching all sports for over 40 years and have played every sport. It’s obvious, you need talent and toughness and heart, all this team has is some talent, they lack the rest. In sports you are either a winner or a loser, this team is made up of losers.

  20. Dean Wade had his usual 3 points, Sam Merrill had 2. Jalen Tyson scored 11 in 12 minutes. I don't care if Tyson's a rookie, he's 10 times better than the other two. He needs to play more. Got nothing to lose at this point.

  21. Not sure why all you media people that have access to the Cavalier players, not sure how you can resist calling them heartless losers to their faces every time you see them. I would have the players on the show and humilate the players as much as possible.

  22. It’s the effort. When the shots don’t fall, the only starter that truly steps up is Spida. You can’t change DNA. BUT, when your backs against the wall, you gotta WANT IT and GO FOR IT. They say they want, but there’s no proof. And even though they’re men, some switches don’t click til your 30. I see it everyday.

  23. Pacers had 7 players in double figures last night (Game 4). LETS REPEAT THAT — 7 Players in Double Figuers — the Pacers consistently 4 or more players in double figures. They are a true team, they DON'T care who is on top of the score sheet each night. If you have the hot hand, you're gonna get fed the ball.

  24. After watching Garland all season long one thing is very noticeable…
He's playing like he is injured because he is injured.

  25. DeAndre Hunter trade doesn't look good……he lacks that edge and hardness……you can't coach TOUGHNESS………..he seems passive….Jarrett Allen is in the same mode…….its unfortunate because he's a very likeable person…….

  26. Atkinson doesnt work the refs during the game, post game press conferences, or on off days. Id be pissed if I were a Cavs fan. He has had no answers outside of the zone in game 3.

  27. The "cheap shot" had no wind-up and barely made contact. But it was a closed fist and so absolutely was called right as Flagrant 2. But the full force shove from Hunter had wind-up and intent so also should've been a F2. Ejecting them both was the right call and the refs flubbed it.

  28. Everyone but Mitchell is now on the chopping block. I wouldn’t mind seeing all of the big 3 bounce out of here. Give us one great player or some great draft capital. I can’t stand these 3 anymore.
