Called it! The NBA will never let the Jazz get the number 1 pick. It's so obvious. If the Jazz are good, the NBA needle doesn't move. If the Jazz suck, the NBA needle still doesn't move.
The cardinal rule in small markets is that you DON'T TRADE YOUR STARS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. Ainge broke this rule and now we're paying for it.

How long of a leash is Ryan Smith going to give Danny Ainge? Traded 2 all stars (I believe that was reasonable) 2 Years of no real direction not tanking & not really competing. What else has Danny really done? How long does the average GM last in the NBA with that type of management? He can't be judged based soley on his past with the Celtics. I hope he can pull off some positive moves but I really don't see him doing much.

The chance of the team with the worst record getting the fifth pick (if you're right, it's 11% odds) five times in a row is absolutely infinitesimally small. You're a numbers guy – how about you run those numbers? The chances of the teams with the two worst records in the NBA ending up in 5th and 6th place in the lottery were what? How about you run those numbers? As far as "we all knew this was likely" – we did. But a huge chunk of the fan base – including you – always referred to it as "tanking for Cooper Flagg." But we weren't. We are tanking for nothing. Tanking for a coin toss to get an average NBA player. Tanking is NOT the strategy. It does NOT lead to championships. No one has presented any evidence that tanking is a better strategy than trying to build a decent team. When you did your video on it, the best you could come up with was "these teams then make the playoffs for a few years." But the Jazz were in the playoffs before Ainge blew up the team. They could have been in the play ins last year if they didn't trade out all the vets for future lousy draft picks. It's a joke. I hope the fans stay home and Ainge gets fired.
Iāve always been of the mindset that we should just build the best team we can and stop with the tanking. Try to make the playoffs each year and see what happens. Look at Indiana and New York. Neither team has a āSuper Starā and both are on the verge of going to the ECF.

Taylor Hendricks was a gigantic failure… he won't come back from that injury. The other draft picks are okay but nothing has moved the meter. The odds for the first three picks to end up the way they did was 1/8300. The NBA is 100% rigged. They will screw the Jazz at any turn.

I love how year after year, the Jazz are always slated to pick Grady Dick, Dalton Knect, Kon Knueppel, etc. You saw it on your live show last night as well. It's such a dumb narrative, I'm glad you gave them no reaction to it.

The jazz had a 14% chance at number one. Team 8 through 14 had a combined chance of 18.5% of picking number 1. Meaning it was more likely one of those teams got number 1 than the jazz. Itās just numbers people.

Real journalists should be questioning about the rules that allow playoff teams or playin teams to participate in lottery. "Rigged systems" argument hides the real problem. At this point I am all in trade #5 pick for Jaylen Brown or some package

Assuming the top 4 are gone (Flagg/Harper/Ace/VJ) its a 3 man race for Utah at 5:
KON (do it all talented SG)
TRE (flamethrower SG with arguable the best shooting showcases evaluators have ever seen )
KASPARAS (giant PG fits the stated Ainge goal of positional size)
The bigs don't make sense (Maluach is much worse that Kessler, Queen both can't defend or shoot 3s), Fears skilllset overlaps too much with Collier. CMG can't shoot and is undersized

There's going to be a great player at 5 this year and next, so let's enjoy the ride. Jazz still have a lot of assets. They just gotta be smart and not panic.
